Tnsping ok, but sqlplus can't connect ora-12154

Hello All, I have installed on my linux the 10.1.0.3 oracle client and I can do tnsping to my tnsnames.ora databases but I can't connect with sqlplus... I have an error: ora-12154
I have readed metalink documentation and I think everything is ok, but still can't connect... :( Can anybody help me please?
Here is some extra data:
-My env vars are:

As I said, tnsping to test or oracle is ok... tnsnames.ora is in the correct path and there it has 775 perms on it. What can be happening?

Also, make sure it is using the correct tnsnames.ora file.
Do you have multiple copies of this file in different directories?
post the contents of your sqlnet.ora file as well.

Please consider that tnsping is only an echo requester for the
listener daemon, not for the database as well !
Should try the following on linux:
"lsnrctl status "
Which services(ORACLE_SID's) are supported by the listener ?
Do they map to the unique identifier (ORACLE_SID) of your
instance ? (ps -ax |grep ora)
If they don't map change your listener.ora and reload your
daemon. (lsnrctl stop...lsnrctl start)

Tnsping returns ok but sqlplus can not connect

this strange behavior is happening on a Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition running an Oracle 9iR2 (9.2.0.5) version. The name of the instance (quality9) is also the name of the tns string. When it is issued a tnsping quality9, it returns ok:

For other client applications as dba studio, the same happens. The file sqlnet.ora was moved to sqlnet.ora.bk in order not to be used but it did not help. Also commenting its unique parameter, SQLNET.AUTHENTICATION_SERVICES = (NTS), did not help. Tried, as a third workaround, create a regedit value USE_SHARED_SOCKETS=TRUE but again the same.

Tnsping does not tell you if the service name given in the tns entry in the tnsnames.ora file is correct or not. Make sure that the entry in tnsnames.ora file contains the correct value for service name.
ORA-12514: TNS:listener could not resolve SERVICE_NAME given in connect descriptor
Cause: The service name specified in the connect descriptor is incorrect, or the database service is not registered with the listener.
Action: Perform these steps:
Check to make sure the SERVICE_NAME specified in the connect descriptor is correct.
Ensure that the database instance is running. If the instance not running, start it so that it can register with the listener. You can use the Listener Control utility SERVICES command to see what services are currently registered with the listener.

Are all the devices on the same physical network? I think you're saying all are set up using the same home sharing credentials.
If you've not done so restart all devices and your router.
If you can get any of the devices connected by ethernet to reduce the wifi burden that may help but to be honest I would not expect simply beoing on wifi to prevent devices/computers appearing in the list.
Does the other computer have any firewall or port blocking software running?

Thanks for the question. After reviewing your post, it sounds like the computer wont connect to networks. I see you have used network diagnostic. All you have to do is connect your new iPod to the computer that has the library for your old iPod.
When iTunes comes up, click on your new iPod under Devices.
At the top of the Summary Page click Music.
Click Synch Music.
Do the same thing for Photos, Apps, Movies and so on...
Now just synch the iPod.

Again without stating the trouble shooting steps you have taken, its hard to direct you with any information.
Try a different port on the computer.
Does the iphone beep when u plug it up. ?
Plug iphone into computer and give it 3 to 4 minutes to see if it connects and is running slow.,
Delete the apple mobile device from your computer.
Upgrade itunes to newest version.
Is you USB cord defective ?
Any USB 3.0 on your system ? .
Delete or Disable any antivirus program on your computer ?
I will tell u the problem is your computer not the phone.

I would recommend that you do the following as a minimum:
Power-down the modem, AirPort base station, and computer(s).
Power-up the modem; wait at least 10-15 minutes to allow it adequate time to initialize.
Power-up the AirPort base station; wait at least 5-10 minutes. Note: The AirPort's status light may continue to flash amber after it has intialized. That is because, there may be some additional configuration items necessary, like setting up wireless security, before the overall setup is completed to get a green status.
Power-up your computer(s).
If the above steps do not solve the problem, start over with step 1 above, but then perform the next steps between steps 1 & 2. above.
Disconnect the AirPort base station from the Internet broadband modem.
While all of the devices are powered-down, perform a "factory default" reset on the base station. This will get it back to its "out-of-the-box" configuration and make setting it up much easier, especially if you use the "Assist me" process within the AirPort Utility. (ref: Resetting an AirPort Base Station or Time Capsule)
After the base station resets, go ahead and power it back down.
Reconnect the AirPort base station to the Internet broadband modem. For the Extreme and Time Capsule, be sure to connect the cable to the base station's WAN (circle-of-dots) port.
Continue with step 2 in the first set of steps.
In this basic configuration, the AirPort base station will broadcast an unsecured wireless network with a Network Name (SSID) of Apple Network NNNNNN. Network clients, connected to the base station either by wire or wireless, should now be able to access the Internet through the ISP's modem. Once Internet connectivity has been verified, you can use the AirPort Utility to configure the base station for wireless security and any other desired options. Please post back your results.

You will need to put the iPhone into Recovery Mode to be able to restore it in iTunes.
To put your iPod/iPhone into recovery mode:
1. Make sure the iPod/iPhone is connected to a computer with iTunes installed on it.
2. Hold down the sleep/wake button(top button) and the home button at the same time until the iPod/iPhone screen goes black then shows the apple logo( usually 10-15 seconds).
3. Once the apple logo appears on the screen, let go of the sleep/wake button and keep holding the home button.
4. The ipod/iphone screen should show an itunes logo and usb cable if you were successful. A dialog box will appear in iTunes that states an iPod/iPhone in recovery mode has been detected if you are successful.
5. Click ok, then click the Restore button
After that you should be up and running in no time!

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

OK, let's try these................
1 - Boot up from your install DVD and run "Repair Disk" from the Utility menu. When done, restart back to your desktop, repair permissions and restart your computer. Re-connect your printer.
2 - Download & install the Gimp drivers. Make sure the one you install is compatible w/your OS-Gutenprint 5.2.8-pre1. Repair permissions, restart your computer & re-connect your printer when done.
The Epson model I have, in order to get it to print wirelessly, I had to install a Gimp driver.

If still unsuccessful after trying all of the above, the problem could be your iBook or human error. You can either call Epson & ask to speak with a Mac savy supervisor or return the printer & find another that is compatible w/your current OS.

I have tried to reset the network settings, nothing has worked. I can connect to the internet via my iPhone personal hotspot and all other wireless devices are operating normally on my home wireless network.

I am also having this issue. My boy just got an iPod 4 touch, upgraded to iOS 6. I have a D-Link DGL-4300 108G Wireless Gaming Router. With the iPod I can connect to the router, get an IP address (either DHCP or Static) and even browse through the menu on the router, but I can't connect to the internet.
With a DHCP IP address the iPod give the error "Not connected to the internet" with the static IP address it takes a long time when trying to connect to a website but then it gives the error "server stopped responding".
Clearly the issue is in some setting in the router. I've tried setting up a filter so that the iPod will always have access based on MAC address. I've tried changing the various wireless connection settings, all to no avail. I would greatly appreciate some guidence here.
