To Access AME for iProcurement, does the user needs to be set up as a buyer ?

Hello,
We are on Oracle R12.1.3.
We are switching on the Approval Management Engine (AME) for iProcurement and Purchasing.
we are about to assign the AME responsibilities “Approvals Management Administrator” and “Approvals Management Business Analyst”  to a user , USER123
Does USER123 need to be set up as a buyer to create AME rules ?
Regards,
Natalia

AME rules for iProcurement are defined for requester. So to test the AME rule itself, you need not be a buyer.
Besides, configuration responsibility can be granted to any employee (From IT department) who may not be a buyer in the role.
So the answer is "Not required"

  • Does the user have to be the owner of CWM2 objects to access them via OLAP API?

    Hi,
What are required for RDBMS users to use OLAP API? Regarding page 6-9 of Oracle9i OLAP User's Guide 9.2.0.1, following access rights are required.
    CONNECT role
    QUERY REWRITE system privilege
SELECT privilegs on the database objects containing the data to be analyzed
So, I created a new user TEST1 and granted all the priviges above. Then I tried to create a new crosstab using New Crosstab Wizard in JDev903_pre(OLAPConnecton is using TEST1). When I choose a measure that is created in CWM1, I could create a crosstab without problem. But when I tried to create a crosstab from a measure that is created in CWM2 by OLAPSYS user, I recieved the following error.
BIB-9509 Oracle OLAP did not create cusor.
    oracle.express.ExpressServerExceptionError class:OLAPI
    Server error descriptions:
DPR: Unable to create server cursor, Generic at TxsOqDefinitionManager::createCursorManager
    OES: ORA, Generic at TxsRdbSelectStatement:execute()
The curious thing is that I can create a crosstab from the same measure if I use another connection that uses OLAPSYS. Does the user that connects to CWM2 using OLAP API have to be the owner of those CWM2 objects?
    Thank you.
    Best Regards,
    Seiji

The user does not have to be the owner of the cwm2 objects to access them. Access to cwm2 objects is based on database security. Therefore, if the user is not the owner of the object (if user is the owner, they obviously have access to the object), then as long as the user has been granted access to the underlying physical object (i.e., the table the dimension or cube has been mapped to), the user will be able to access the object.

  • NTFS permissions - Only access to folders created by the user himself

    Hi,
I once came by an TechNet article explaining how to set up the NTFS permission on a shared folder, so the users would have rights to create a subfolder, and then only have access to this folder, and none of the co-existing folders on the same level, created
    by similiar users.
So in details, I have shared a folder called backup$, where the users needs access to create their own subfolder (will be done automatically by a script). And in case they would need to browse their way to the full path, I need to make sure, they won't be
able to access folders created by other users.
    Any help is much appreciated.

    Hi,
I am not clear what are the rights you will set through the script for each sub-folder. You can verify, your settings using
    Effective Permission tool.
You can more about Effective Permissions from the below URLs.

I'm sorry if my question is not clear. I'm looking for the correct NTFS permissions to set on the shared folder. No permissions are being set in the script.

  • How do I resend an invite email for one of the user in my Aruba Central account?

Q: How do I resend an invite email for one of the user in my Aruba Central account?
A: Aruba Central allows administrator to create multiple user of different access levels to help manage the system.  As new uses are created by administrator, an invitation email is sent to the user's email address to activate the account.
In certain situations, these emails get into spam or junk folders with no visibility to end-user. These are cases, where re-sending an invitation email is of much helpful.
Follow these steps to resend invite email to a specific user:
Login to Aruba Central and click on "All Groups"
In the left-menu, click on "Maintenance" and then "User Management"
Clik on "Resend Invite email" and mention the email address you wanted to send the invite again:

By default, the Menu Type option for menus is set to Top Level Pages. You can change this behavior by choosing Menu Type > All Pages from the menu options. The steps to do this are described in Adding a Horizontal Menu widget

  • For what does the BPEL Manager need a domain ?

For what does the BPEL engine need a domain ?
Where (in which file) is specified to which domain the BPEL Manager
    connects to?
Is it a difference if the domains are defined in table
    orabpel.domain
    or just
    domain
? With which user/password/service does to BPEL Manager connect to
Oracle DB to search for its domain?
Background: My domain "default" exists in table but BEPL Manager could not connect here

We currently have 3 domains for BPEL. We use them because they a) serve different purposes, b) we tweak the domain level threads.
I believe bpel manager will, by default, connect to the which ever domain starts with the letter closest to A.
I also think the user account is orabpel, which connects to the bpel schema.

  • Two users share one Apple ID, on two phones. can they be separated without losing phone backups? IE creating a new ID for one of the users?

my in-laws share one apple id for two separate iPhones. They would like to create a new ID for one of the users but maintain his current backup. can this be done?

If you want to create a new account make sure you sign out of everything via the settings. (ICloud, iTunes, facetime, messages, etc) APPS: since the apps were downloaded with a different apple ID, you will always need to use the password for the apple ID that downloaded that particular APP when it needs to be updated. Unless it is free, you can simply delete it and download it under the new apple ID. As for the music, you can keep it on the IOS device,  but if it's accidentally deleted, you'd have to sign back into the original account and download from the cloud. (But, you risk getting the 90 day lockout. )

  • When creating a connection key in cs5, does each user need a separate connection key?

I am setting up multiple users to access a site in contribute (cs5).   Does each user need their own connection key or can 1 key be sent to multiple users?

    Hi,
If all the users belong to the same role (like all users are Publishers or Writers), then, you can send a single connection key for all the users. But, if users belong to different roles, then, you will have to create connection keys for each role and then send it to the users.
    Hope this helps.

Is it possible to hook a USB external hard drive to an iPad?.....the HD has video on it that I wanna watch on my iPad but don't wanna store it on iPad or iTunes....and way format does the video need to be in to watch on iPad?

There are some wireless external hard drives that can be used with the iPad.
The Kingston Wi-Drive, which costs $50 for the 16 Gigabyte, and then $30 more for every 16 gigs more. It works by you turning it on and then accessing the files on it from an app that you download on your iDevice. You can access music, movies, and other stuff. No connections or anything, it works like a WiFi connection, you connect to it from the setting on the iPad under wireless networks.
Then there is the Seagate GoFlex, which some would recommend over the Wi-Drive. But this one costs $199 and had 500 Gigabytes of storage. It works the sameway as the Kingston: no wires, runs over its wireless connection. You can actually fit up to 300 HD movies on it.
    Another option:
Expand your iPad's storage capacity with HyperDrive

  • Does end user need Crystal Reports to run saved reports

This seems like such a simple question, but I am unable to find the answer in the documentation, so here it goes.
On UCCX does end user need Crystal Reports to run save custom reports that were created using Crystal Reports

    Hi
No, UCCX comes with the 'Historical Reporting Client' which contains a Crystal runtime that renders the reports.
You only need Crystal Pro if you wish to author new reports for the system.
