To AD or To OD

Hi All,
Please give me an insight here, we have a lot of macintosh and windowses clients right now, can anyone please help give an insight on what am i going to setup as the authentication services whether AD or OD, i have not much knowledge in AD, more and more clients in mac and windows are growing now. I have heard that if you want to integrate the whole thing it should be AD will host the authentication services and Creation of accounts and the OD would be to supplement the AD for the mac clients to be manage, Is this true? Is it possible to host the authentication services and creation of accounts on OD and the AD would just be a member domain on OD that would take the control of the windows clients. Will it also possible to import all the OD User Account to a newly AD?
Please someone email me on this matter regarding AD and OD integration.

User the AD for authentication for all and OD for Mac management if you want. On Macs, in Directory Access, bind to your AD first then add the OD (under ldap) connection. The AD should be listed first under Authentication. Also, I've had better success (less trouble) using the Mobile account feature. XP does this also but it's not an option. They will have a local account created, labeled in the Users control panel as mobile, managed. The account properties will be sync'd with the AD account and folder can be sync'd with home folder location using Prefs in OD.
There are several manuals you should download from Apple and read thru.
