To blog Administrator

Administrator,
I have two very important Unresolved Questions on this forum. How long should I wait for a response? Is the SAP Community the only source of help for .net development with Crystal? Is there some other way to get support more quickly?
My questions are titled:
1.   Report too wide for viewer
2.   Exporting report to Excel - Column width option
Thanks,
Linda

Hi Linda,
You are correct.
There is no free "support" other than the forums.
While we do our best to try and help forum customers with issues sometimes it isn't possible to resolve them all.  It just depends on a variety of factors such as our case load, the sheer volume of forum postings, the specific issue that the forum poster is having may not be conducive to troubleshooting in a forum format (for example it may be too complicated to troubleshoot for forum postings), etc.
For times when it isn't possible to resolve an issue or in cases where a customer needs more immediate or personal assistance, there is the option of purchased support cases.
If you would like to speak to a technical customer assurance engineer about your Crystal issues you will need to purchase support via the number provided.  Each issue will need a seperate case and needs to be for a currently supported platform (ie. Crystal 10, Crystal XI Release 1, etc are no longer supported).
Best Regards,
Jason

  • Enterprise Blog

    .

I'm trying to set up the Enterprise Blog but have run into some trouble with the installation instructions. First, step 5 says "When blog.pte was imported, three portal properties called Blog ID, Post ID, and Tags were created. Open each of these properties up in the Administration section of the portal, click on the "Names and Properties" link, and write down the "Object ID" of each." Actually, when I installed the Enterprise Blog it created portal properties called "blogid" "postid" and "tags". At first I figured that the "Blog ID" mentioned in step 5 actually meant the "blogid" property created by importing the .pte file and "Post ID" meant "postid". But then step 7 says "Go to the Global Document Property Map application in the Administration section of the portal and add 3 new property mappings. These should map as follows: Blog ID -> blogId, Post ID -> ownUUID, and Tags -> tags." If the left side of each of these pairs is meant to be the property name ("Blog ID", "Post ID" and "Tags") then the .pte set them up with the wrong names. So I renamed the imported properties (blogid to "Blog ID", postid to "Post ID" and tags to "Tags") but that doesn't seem to have helped. The documentation for setting up these properties has really confused me. Also, step 8 says "Create a crawler using the Publisher Server Data Source for crawling and point it at the Plumtree Enterprise Blogging folder. Kick off a crawl." This just isn't enough for me to go on. Am I actually supposed to create a crawler or use the crawler created when I imported the .pte file? If I am supposed to create a new one from scratch as the installation instructions suggest, is there any more detail about exactly how this needs to be set up?
The blog portlet does display and if I create a blog in it, it does create a subdirectory in Publisher Explorer. But I don't see it in the blog portlet and if I try to search in the blog portlet I get an error "Server Error in '/TurnerRGS/Blog' Application.

If I click on the crawler in the blog Administrative Folder, I get a really long error that begins "<!--Unable to display the HTML for XUIView (Display).: com.plumtree.openfoundation.util.XPException: Unable to display the HTML for XUIView (Display). at com.plumtree.portalpages.admin.editors.xui.XUIView.Display(Int32 _nXUIPageID) in e:\buildroot\Release\portalui\6.0.x\ptwebui\portalpages\dotnet\prod\src\com\plumtree\portalpages\admin\editors\xui\XUIView.cs:line 106 at com.plumtree.portalpages.ext.providers.soap.crawler.MainDP.PageDisplay() in e:\buildroot\Release\portalui\6.0.x\ptwebui\provUISOAP\dotnet\prod\src\com\plumtree\portalpages\ext\providers\soap\crawler\MainDP.cs:line 58 at com.plumtree.uiinfrastructure.form.AFormDP.DisplayForm() in e:\buildroot\Release\uiinfrastructure\6.0.x\dotnet\prod\src\com\plumtree\uiinfrastructure\form\AFormDP.cs:line 717 at com.plumtree.uiinfrastructure.form.AFormDP.Display(IWebData pageData) in..."

  • Connection to specific Website

    Hi,
I'm having the same issue as
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10472931&#10472931
but my DNS settings are already set to the ones that you suggested, (I have been using open DNS for some time).
In addition, I was able to get onto the hung-up web sites using anonymouse.org/
Any help would be great, the web sites that I can't access are my blog, and my blog administration........big problem!
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    Two things....
    1. You can go to the site below to access the websites that are blocked on your computer.
    http://anonymouse.org/
Click on the English flag, and then type in the website you are trying to reach, and it will take you there. (Unfortunately it seems that this is now one of the websites that my Airport is blocking).
    2. Call your Apple store, point them to all of these posts, and insist that they replace your Airport. There is obviously some kind of glitch, and it needs to be resolved. If they won't agree to replace it, keep asking for the person above them.
I don't know about the rest of you, but I have wasted too much time on this with Apple, My internet supplier, and my website host. Apple will try to resolve the problem if everyone starts asking for replacements.

  • Creative please be fair with the people who bought your product!

There are some threads here and questions about official Creative drivers for E-MU 0202/0404 USB for Windows 7. Since nowhere there is any answer I want to ask and be ANSWERED! - when the f**k the new drivers will be released? This is official Creative forum so I expect answer. I payed for my E-Mu 0202 and I want it to work CORRECTLY.
Creative - don't be a coward! You don't have balls or what?? If you don't want to release new drivers and you DON'T CARE about the customers - then f**k you! I will buy sound card from another mark.

My mistake, your USB audio system is OS irrelevant. There isn't any such thing as a Windows7 driver for a USB device, since it runs from a USB port. I was insane to even try to respond to you, since you don't seem to realize that the first word in the USB acronym stands for "Universal". Which means that even your set-top box for your television can have a USB port. USB, dude, USB. That means it's a Universal Serial device that really doesn't care what the OS is.
Anyway, our argument got the attention of the driver software blog administrator guy from E-Mu, so Mr. KokChoy or whatever his name is has stepped into the discussion. Now that he knows that people with Windows7 are steamed about the lack of drivers, I'm sure his boss will bring some smoke on the driver design team to get their act together.
I'm using the Beta driver for Windows7 x64 version, and it's buggy as all get out. It chatters and loses sync every time something changes in the environment. Sounds like someone playing guitar through a burned out speaker cabinet. Ah well, they have to start somewhere.
It also appears that they are trying to run x32 drivers in a compatibility mode, instead of designing x64 drivers from scratch. That's not going to take advantage of a doggone thing in x64 land. This same garbage hounded the driver designers when they changed from 16bit DOS/Windows to 32bit Windows95. Until they released true 32bit drivers, the old 16bit SoundBlaster cards sounded terrible and crashed Windows95 every 5 minutes. Same thing looks like it is happening again. Until we get some true 64bit drivers, we will be suffering with 32bit drivers running in compatibility mode.
Someone needs to find the sound driver designer for the old Atari Jaguar (Is that right? The Jaguar was an Atari, yes?) and get that person to explain how s/he created the 64bit sound system for the Jaguar. That person already knows how to design 64bit sound drivers.

  • My blog will not load--it gives me a blank white page.

If I type in my blog's URL I can see it fine. But if I try to login or search on it or go into the archives, it gives me a blank white page. Not an error code. Just a white page. I can see my favicon in the address bar.
I've tried it on FF and Safari. Same thing happens. I've tried it on other computers and the same thing happens.
I have asked my host to look into it, they don't know what to do. I asked my ISP about it and they said it's probably browser issues.
I looked thru all the help forums and altho' some people have this same problem not one of them had it resolved.
    HELP.

In your WordPress administrative panel, try deactivating the WP Super Cache plugin to bypass any problems with cached pages. Similarly, scrutinize your other plugins to see whether any of them are not absolutely necessary, in case there is a conflict.
Then clear your Firefox browser cache and try again.
Firefox > Preferences > Advanced > Network > "Clear Now"
    Any difference?
Edit: Oh... if you cannot log in, then it's hard to administer plugins, isn't it. You might need a WordPress doctor to explain how to make changes using an FTP client or your web host's file manager.

    Hi Tracy,
Have you changed something on your SharePoint 2007 environment recently before this issue occurred?
This issue may be related to Alternate Access Mappings settings like the following similar post, if you have configured AAM, you can check if this issue happened to some URLs, if it's the case, please add the problematic URLs as a Publish URLs for the default
zone for your web application, and also add these URLs as trusted locations, then check results again.
If above doesn't work, please enable ULS log on verbose level to get more useful log errors which time are corresponding to the errors occur.

  • Accounts being created with administrative group rights

    Hello,
The server is a Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise fully patched used for Shared Hosting purposes.  It runs Hsphere control panel.  I am trying to identify how the following hack is happening.
    1) There are users being created with Administrative group rights.   Below is the EventViewer log for the user creation:
    User Account Created:
         New Account Name:    username
         New Domain:    PCNAME
         New Account ID:    PCNAME\username
         Caller User Name:    PCNAME$
         Caller Domain:    DOMAINNAME
         Caller Logon ID:    (0x0,0x3E7)
         Privileges        -
     Attributes:
         Sam Account Name:    username
         Display Name:    <value not set>
         User Principal Name:    -
         Home Directory:    <value not set>
         Home Drive:    <value not set>
         Script Path:    <value not set>
         Profile Path:    <value not set>
         User Workstations:    <value not set>
         Password Last Set:    <never>
         Account Expires:    <never>
         Primary Group ID:    513
         AllowedToDelegateTo:    -
         Old UAC Value:    0x2DAB2B0
         New UAC Value:    0x2DAB2B0
         User Account Control:    -
         User Parameters:    <value not set>
         Sid History:    -
Logon Hours:    <value changed, but not displayed>
There exists entries as well where the primary group ID is changed to the Administrative group, but I am omitting such.
    2) I tried to identify what Caller Logon ID:    (0x0,0x3E7) means.  I found out from here:
http://blog.joeware.net/2013/01/14/2667/ that I can use LogonSessions.exe to identify it.
Output from LogonSessions.exe is pasted below (snippet):
    [0] Logon session 00000000:000003e7:

    3) I also learned from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/243330/en-us that   Sid:          S-1-5-18 means:
    SID: S-1-5-18
    Name: Local System
Description: A service account that is used by the operating system
That is all great info, but I am not sure I can put together what I have learned to attempt and get closer towards identifying how in the world users are being created and then being assigned administrative group rights.
I am a Linux person mostly, but I am comfortable following a properly explained thread regarding windows 2003 R2 Enterprise issues.
The server is fully patched and it is running Lumension security product.  What's more, Norman Malware tracker, tdskiller.exe (Kaspersky) and McAfee rootkitremover.exe have been run without any apparent Malware/Virus infection
Hope someone with advanced admin skills can advise.
    Thank you

    Hi,
You mentioned that, “I am trying to identify how the following hack is happening”, would you please tell us that why did you think the event represent a hacking behavior?
In a Shared Server Hosting environment, the underlying hosting control panel tool (Hsphere in this case) should be creating only virtual FTP users with a specific group.  So no users with Administrative group should be ever created.  If this happens,
it constitutes a breach of server security=positive hacking attempt.
    >how in the world users are being created and then being assigned administrative group rights.
In addition, would you please be more specific about this question? Did you find the event message on a domain joined machine?
I want to be able to understand in full how/what process is allowing users to be created with Admin rights.  In other words, I want to know what IP was used to issue the command, if ASP.net was used (abused in this case), or anything else related to
it so that we can patch this particular hole.
    Best Regards,
    Amy

  • Autologin on Windows Server 2008 R2 - local Administrator problem

I needed an user to autologin on a Windows Server 2008 R2 server.
Configured it following this guide: http://www.danj.co.uk/2011/06/enable-autologon-for-windows-2008-r2.html
In addition I added the login information by using the Autologon tool from sysinternals: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb963905.aspx
Now the user I configured autologins successfully. The only downside is that now you can login with the local Administrator account by just hitting enter, as it now doesn't check the password and instead has a blank one. I think this comes from the User
accounts screen where I unticked the checkbox and also the Administrator account is listed. When trying to remove the local Administrator it tells me that it will delete the account. I don't want that.
How do I keep autologin of the user I configured but also have the local Administrator account check his password?

    Hello,
    please see

I did really appreciate the To Certify or Not to Certify topic is it quite good.
Especially that Note to Hiring Managers: Just as candidate should not stake their careers solely on certification, you should not hire someone just because they are certified. Certification is an important factor and should play a role in your hiring process, but you should also base your hiring decisions on experience, education/training and communication skills (among other things). Most importantly you should follow up carefully with the candidate’s references. By looking at the whole package and verifying the details with multiple references you will improve your chances of hiring the right candidate.
And we have now also a dedicated magazine or new letter on the oracle certification
    Extract from the news letter:
July has been a busy month in Oracle Certification, with several new exciting things to share! Among them, our new and long-awaited Oracle Certification Blog. We are looking forward to sharing ongoing updates and discussing relevant topics in this short and easy to read format. Let us know what you think!
We’re also happy to share that we have quite a few certifications still available in beta for a significant discount. It’s not only your chance to be among the first to be certified, but allows you to participate in our development process by providing Oracle with valuable feedback.. And of course, we are ramping up for our annual Oracle blowout in San Francisco - Oracle OpenWorld 2008, coming up in September. We hope to see you there!
Paul Sorensen | Director of Certification, Oracle
    Have good readings....

My understand is Oracle Database 11g Administrator Certified Professional (OCP) certification is already available via 1z0-050 to those with 10g OCP; to be technically correct IMHO this would make it a new path to the certification rather than a new certification ;-)

  • Create a public access site to see the documents which are created by administrator

    Hi ,
I am new to the sharepoint. I would like to create a public facing sharepoint 2013 site .
Main requirement is Administrator must login to site and create a documents in library.  Those documents must visible to everyone. So that site must be public facing.
Please let me know step by step how to resolve it as I am new to this.
    Regards,
    Raj

    Hi,
From your description, my understanding is that you want to let all users have permission to access a document.
The first method you could create a public facing site with method below:
    1.
You should change settings in CA and your site. You could refer to this article:
http://blog.cloudshare.com/2012/10/15/how-to-enable-anonymous-access-to-a-sharepoint-2013-site/.This is a video for you:
How to make your SharePoint 2013 site a public facing website?
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SnOmtE1x8JM
    2.
Add your document into the home page: Click gear icon -> edit page -> INSERT tab in the Ribbon -> Web Part -> select your document -> Save.
The second method you could accomplish your requirement via manage your document permission:
    1.
    Enter your document library.
    2.
Click Library Setting in the Ribbon.
    3.
    Click
Permissions for this document library under Permissions And Management section.
    4.
Click Stop Inheriting Permissions in the Ribbon.
    5.
Click Grant Permissions in the Ribbon.
    6.
Enter everyone and choose view only as the screenshot below.
    7.
Then users can access this document library via its URL(in my case it is:
    http://sp/sites/sharepoint2013/Shared%20Documents/Forms/AllItems.aspx).

    Please try below mentioned steps:
    1. Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service Timer Job" > Disable
    2. Then open windows administrative services (services.msc), stop SharePoint Timer Service
    3. Clear SharePoint Timer configuration cache by following steps mentioned in below blog:
    http://blogs.msdn.com/b/jamesway/archive/2011/05/23/sharepoint-2010-clearing-the-configuration-cache.aspx
    4. Start SharePoint Timer Service and give it a few seconds so that the new XML files from the location you deleted then are re-populated.
5.Central Administration > Monitoring > Review job definitions > Look for following timer job "Application Server Administration Service" Timer Job > Enable
Please ensure that you mark a question as Answered once you receive a satisfactory response.

  • The search service is not able to connect to the machine that hosts the administration component

    Hi
After uninstalling the binaries, and reinstalling / joining back to the farm, everything seems happy expect search.
    When we try and start the Search Service back, it takes us to the Search Application section, and shows this message;
The search service is not able to connect to the machine that hosts the administration component
How can I get search to work again, or get around this error?
I am pretty inexperienced with Search

    Hi  Tibsy80,
For your issue, it can be caused by the search admin timer job was disabled.
Run below PS command to know the status:
    Get-SPTimerJob job-application-server-admin-service | fl
If it returns “IsDisabled: True”, ran below PS command to enable the service:
    Enable-SPTimerJob job-application-server-admin-service
Then run below PS command to stop and start the timer and IIS reset:
    Net Stop timer
    Net start timer
    iisreset
Then wait 1-2 min and try browsing to the SSA again.

  • How to delete a blog entry in Lion Server Wiki?

Anyone know how to do this?  It seems that even logged in as system administrator you cannot delete blog entries using the web interface.
Wiki help unhelpfully reports that "If Delete Page or Delete File isn't listed, you can't delete the page or file.".  Really?
Thanks in advance for any help avail.

The above works most of the time, but sometimes User accounts can be stubborn.  I setup an admin account, perhaps unecessarily, when installing lion on a new solid state hard drive.  After migrating my original Admin account over from the hard drive I had difficulty in removing the newly created Admin (method: I clicked the minus and deleted the home folder, checking 'erase home folder securely') which resulted in the acct. being downgraded to Standard.  Still it would show up at startup login screen.  Although logging in to this account (to attempt to logout and then reattempt the delete) was not possible (never ending spinning beachball - not what you want with 20G RAM and a top end SSD).
    Then I found this -
    http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-13727_7-57326230-263/remove-stubborn-user-accounts- with-directory-utility/
    - which could be helpful if you are having similar problems with user accounts in Lion.
