To buy an iPod touch in the USA

Hi,
I may buy an iPod touch in the USA to use it in France, but I wonder, will I be able to update it in France?(if a new update is available). And by the way, what's about the warranty?

Good day, I know someone who purchased an iPod from the Apple Store in the US while on vacation then they needed to take it in to the Apple Store for warranty support and the Apple store in the UK said that the warranty is still covered even though it was purchased in the US.
They said they only difference between the two models was that due to a law in Europe of the UK the volume limit was restricted and the max volume level was less than what the North American model has for the max volume level. Obviously this isn't that big of a deal so they replaced the iPod for him covered under the warranty.
And yes you will be able to update it using iTunes just fine.
