Due to our company policy, GPO applied on server, casuser is not allowed as a local administrator... Active Directory team says that if we change "casuser" name to any other name as per company policy, then they will be able to make it permanently local administrator.
Are we able to change "casuser" name to anything else...
Also can we use any other service than TASK SCHEDULER, as its also not allowed in GPO. Currently we are unable to make scheduled backups as TASK SCHEDULER is disabled.

to keep things clear, casuser does not need to be a member of the local administrator group it is a member of its own group, named "casusers"; It is just necessary to install LMS as a local administrator so that all necessary settings can be made during installation! But be aware that GPOs can overwrite the necessary rights for casuser (or casusers) and can be responsible for "sudden" problems a week or a month after a successfull and running installation.
casuser can not be renamed.
most of the scheduled jobs are maintened LMS internally and do not need "Task Scheduler" or "at"; the only periodic jobs I know of are logrotsch.bat and backupsch.bat to maintain logfile rotation and the database backup respectively. I would just try to set up these jobs in an alternative scheduler (btw. which one are you using ??). The only consequence I can imaging is that LMS can not report on the status of these jobs...
Both .bat files are only wrappers around the .pl skripts doing the real job.
You should get the permission to enable the task scheduler for a test, setup both jobs in the GUI like you need. When you have done this, open a DOS box, just type "at" and copy the command you see and use it for your own scheduler Then unconfigure the settings in the GUI
Another possibility that comes into my mind is to tweak windows, so that the "at" command points to your own scheduler. You should play with doing this before or after setting up the Job in the GUI (I would start with "after")
But be aware that this is not supported and Cisco TAC can reject any help befor you have reverted these settings.

You would have to delete the existing iCloud account and create a wholly new one - you cannot change the @icloud.com email address of the one you already have. To make a new one, you will also need an new AppleID as any AppleID can only have one iCloud account associated with it.
Deleting the account will not delete anything off your device (if prompted for things like contacts, choose to keep them). You will have to sync everything anew with the new account as you cannot move your sync'd content, your old backups or anything else from one iCloud account to another. You will have to set up sync again and let it sync to the new account, and then make new backups to the new account as well.

"FROM" shows email address, not name, for a few address book entries

What is strange is that for the people it happens to, Mail IS able to successfully cross-reference them to an address book entry by showing their real name (and photo if I have one), in the BODY of the message. In other words, Mail will always resolved email address into names in the body of mail messages (100% of the time if I have a matching address book entry), but will only show names rather than addresses in the list view maybe 85% of the time. Weird. Seems like mail should either know the sender and display a name instead of address, or not. My issue is that is knows them in the body but doesn't in the messages list (above the preview pane).
I can't figure out what about the address book card for these few people is any different from the others one which do the name matching perfectly every time.
A small concern here, I know, but it is very annoying that I can't figure this out. I first noticed it back with Mail for Tiger. Any ideas?

you are right. It is easy to prove and Mail doesn't do anything of the sort when i try it. On the other hand if I change the From field when composing a message, any recipient (using mail or any other email client) will see that name. that name is sent with the message and you can see it if you view the raw source of the message. Mail certainly never changes raw source.

I know what you meant. As I said, it's not possible to do so on the iPhone. Of course Apple could add such a feature to a future version of iOS, it's only software, but so far they haven't. You can suggest such a feature to Apple here: http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html

I cleared out a movie I made in final cut pro, now fcp will not open completely, I get the logo with all the names running through but never get timeline, browser or anything else? Help!! Larry

I removed a movie I had made and now when I try to open final cut pro, all the stuff shows up with the names, etc, but that is it, I don't get anything else, and, final cut does not show at the top of my computer. Sounds like you may have deleted more than just the movie file. It the FCP application in the Applications folder? if so, try launching from there. If not, you'll neeed to uninstall the app completely using this: http://www.digitalrebellion.com/fcsremover/ then reinstall from the original install discs.
You may want to first try trashing FCP's preferences.

Why Mail displays the name and address instead of address book name?

File under the category of unanswered miscellaneous quirks by a new Mail user (the old posts were archived/locked)....
I have found that by eliminating any spaces in FIRST name field, the Address Book name appears w/ blue losenge (w/o the e-mail address).
I had many of these entries due to an incorrect import from Entourage that concatenated first name & MI with a proper space between.
Power Mac G4 Mac OS X (10.4.7)

They are grayed out because they are automatically set up whey you check Mail in System Preferences. If you didn't do that, go back and do so and your iCloud email account will be set up automatically.

How to configure address-2-name mappings in Tiger Server ?

Our primary name server is Debian Linux (thank God). On this box we have address-2-name mappings file. We are using Tiger server as secondary(slave) name server. In the Secondary Zones tab, I entered zone names and their primary name server (debian). Tiger server is acting as secondary name server. But we want to create address-2-name mappings also on this server. How to do this on Tiger Server ? I tried manually creating the file. Everything worked fine. But when I open DNS GUI and added a new Secondary Zone, manually added file is gone. Appreciate any help.

Secondary zones are pulled from a master server.
If you want this machine to have its own zone of hostnames you need to create a primary zone entry, not a secondary zone.
For the primary zone you define the zone name then add the appropriate hostname entries with their corresponding IP addresses.

To get the IP, you can then do something like "host <hostname>".
If you run the sqlplus script on the server, you can use my second method on the same thread, that is :

[Redwood] Abap_run error : Please choose a valid variant name

Hello all,
We have a problem with running ABAP programs using some variants : we have 30 variants but the program can only run with 25 variants, with the other 5 left the program displays this error :
Please choose a valid variant name
We then decided to run RSI_IMPORT_ABAP_PROGRAMS and RSI_IMPORT_VARIANTS but the script still fails and shows the "Please choose a valid variant name" error message.
We have checked if these 5 variants exist in the target system, and it does. What other check can we do to find why the jobs failed ?

Actually, I realized that I didn't chose the right client.
The program runs correctly now with all the variants.

This is because an alternate Address Details are being Pulled and the form errors out Since there is a validation in the smartform which needs the NAME1 field to not be Blank.
I had this issue Printing, emailing a Smart-form for a Purchase Order. It turned out that the Storage location address was maintained for the Storage location in the PO.
I Deleted the Storage location address in the IM. Enterprise Structure > Definition > Materials Management > Maintain Storage Location for the Storage location.
Table view (V_TWLAD)
Now that the Alternate Delivery address is not checked , the issue does not arrive anymore. Note: If the Storage location address is needed, the NAME1 field for the address should not be left blank. Once the NAME1 field is specified, there will be no error printing the Smartform

After editing the iisproxy.ini with a differnet IP address do I need to do anything else?

I changed the iispoxy.ini file on MS ISS server to point to a new
weblogig server ip address but I get a timeout error when trying
to proxey to the new server.

The encoded assets are imbedded inside your iDVD project package. When you updated your footage, did iDVD detect the asset change and ask you to update the project? If it didn't, it might not have re-encoded some of your DVD footage. You should preview your disk image with Apple DVD Player to be sure. The encoded assets can be deleted with the Advanced > Delete Encoded Assets menu command and save your project.

1. Sync wasn't intended to be used in that manner. You would be better off carrying around a USB Flash Stick with Portable Firefox for use on "strange" PC's.
2. You could open the "Library" {Ctrl + Shift + B} and highlight all those bookmarks and then delete them all at once. But that would also delete all the other bookmarks, and it isn't foolproof. All another person would need to do it to '''''restore''''' a bookmark backup file that has your bookmarks. Beyond that, a new Profile could be created and then the current Profile deleted; but that's "messing with" someone else's computer - an action that is worthy of terminating a friendship over, IMO.
And if that "public" computer was set up properly, Sync should have been disabled.
