To compare two different reports

Hi!
Iu2019ve just started in a new work and I have an important task to do. So, I need to know if there is
some method to compare two reports. Let me explain:
We receive reports from Oracle and from SQL Server: two different reports with the same information. I need to compare them in order to know if the information exactly is the same or not.
Does someone know any tool to do that or do I have to revise each one by hand?

May beu2026 Business Object u2013 Crystal Reports can explain us how is a report built and how we can find the u201Cdata sourcesu201D. If it can beu2026 I will be able to make a program to compare the u201Cdata fieldsu201D in two, three, four,u2026 reports.
It will be very useful to compare if two reports have the same u201Cdata fieldsu201D or, two directories have the same number of reports and everyone in the first folder have the consequent in the second folder.
Of course, when I talking about folders, Iu2019m want to say two folders who contains reports but each folder have reports linked to different DBMS (Oracle, SQL Server,u2026).

• How can I Generate two different reports from single execution of Test cases in NI teststand

Hi,
My requirement is to generate two different reports from NI teststand. One for the Logging of error descriptions and the other report is by default generated by the Teststand. How can i generate a txt file that contains error descriptions other than that mentioned in the default report?
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Do you need to do that just for these two sequences but not for other sequences? I don't see a problem to use SequenceFilePostStepRuntimeError. Create this callback in both sequence files and configure them to log into the same file. SequenceFilePostStepRuntimeError callback is called after each step of the sequence file if it has runtime error. You can access the calling step error information via RunState.Caller.Step.Result.Error property. Take a look to attached example.
The "other way" is useful if you need to log errors not for every step of the sequence file, but for some of them. This is more complex, because you need to create a custom step types for these steps. For the custom step you can create substeps (post-step in your case) which will be executed every time after step of this type executed. Then, this is you job to determine if error happened in the step, acces to step's error information is via Step.Result.Error property.
Also, be aware that step's post-expression is not executed in case of error in the step.

• How to compare two excel reports and find the difference in BI Publisher

Hi All,
I have a requirement that needs to compare two excel reports in XML Publisher 5.6.2. or BI publisher 10.1.3.4
If anybody has an idea about this pls help us.
Thanks,

Since our customer wants to have this comparison only with BI reports....here is the scenario how the comparison should be..
Now,we have a parameters called Customer name and version id. Version id list will be refreshed based on the customer selection.
User can generate the report based on the selected customer name and version id. These data are fetch from the oracle database and we are using Data Template in the BI Publisher.
Now the requirement is customer wants to compare two version id data. for example, v1.2 and v1.3
Now they wanna to see both the reports while generating in the same work sheet, like, v1.2report should display in the left side and the v1.3report has to display in the right hand side of the same work sheet.
Now...If there is any addition happened in v1.3 report,then that cell/data should display as a green color in that report.
If any deletion happened in v1.3report then that should be in the red color.
If any modification happened in v1.3 then that should be in the yellow color.
If there is no difference then that should display as it is.
the thing is that, the both the reports (v1.2 and v1.3)should display side by side in the same worksheet with the format and everything........only the difference should be highlighted.
Template is same for both the reports..
To display the data for both versions i think i can generate the template side by side of both in the same worksheet.
Now, My question is how to find the difference of data in the RTF Template for both the versions
Can anybody assist me?
Thanks,

• Display two Different reports together

Hi Experts,
Is there any way that I can display two different reports simultaneously/together in Web Portal
Thanks in advance.

Hi Manpreet,
Although we can easily perform this in WAD , but as you asked the other option which requires some coding .
Check the below thread for the same :

• Concatenate columns from two different reports

In OBIEE 11g report, I am looking for a method to concatenate columns from two different reports.
My requirement is, if I show 'Units Produced' for customer A, I need to show another column 'Units Produced' for a related customer B.
Every customer has one related customer.
So my report shows all the data for customer A, but I need to add one column which is for custome B , so I am looking a way to concatenate columns or if some other way this can be done

Customer A is dimension table. You mapped to fact to get Customer A details.
Now you want for Customer B. Now create one more alias table for Customer and name it as customer B and join with Fact on Customer B keys and use it.
Each customer has related customer.
2 dimension tables one for customer and other for related customer.

mark it as answer if it answered your question :)

Hi Parry2k,
According to your description, you want to compare the sales of two different periods. Right?
Based on your query, both the Period1 and Period2 are from 20070101 to 20070228. They are same period, so it supposed to return same sales value on that two columns. Your query is right to me.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask.

• Tool or script to compare two oracle Reports?

Hi:
Anybody knows any tool or script to compare or conciliate two Oracle reports?
The idea is to detect the differences to impact then in the older report.
I tried comparing each .REX with a text file comparing tool (like a Unix diff), but the differences I found were bassed in tables and fields used when we save the report to the database. The main problem using that is how to impact the differences found in the Report Builder.
The following are 2 examples of diferences found, which I dont know how to impact them in the Reports Builder
DEFINE ROSSTRINGS
BEGIN
groupid = 15453
stringid = 0
lfid = 0
cs = 31
len = 7
str = (BINARY)
<<"
5020426f 6f6b0000
">>
END
DEFINE SRW2_LAYOUT
UITAG = 18039
HDR_CHAR_HGT = 65
I'll thanks a lot yours suggestion or ideas.

• How to compare two different environments

Can any please tell me how to compare two environments like DEVL to TEST?
I know how to compare a project(like DEVL to TEST) but i want to see all the changes in all the objects between two different environments.
Please help me.
Thank you.

That is really a good piece of information.
Does it really matter where we are comparing from?
i will explain,let us say we have DEV and TST environment.
let us say both has same project name and the same number of objects but inside the object they may be different(like number of fields in the same record in both environments).
Now we want to have a compare report between those environments.
We can do in two different ways, right?
(1. source DEV, Target TST)
(2. source TST, Target DEV)
will the result get changed in both the cases?
(except like following)
(first case souce target)
( absent *changed)
(second case would be like following)
( souce target)
( *changed absent)
(but i gess the number of rows in both the cases does not get changed)
let me know if you can not understand the question. sorry about the confusing explanation

in polestar we can compare the two measures at the same time but i want to compare the sales revenue of product lines of two years in a comparison chart at the same time.

Hi Stratos,
I am actually able to compare the Measures but i want the comparison between the two different characteristics like this year productline vs last year productline at the same time with say one measure like sales revenue or any other.
Is it possible to compare the both and it should represent in the chart as well at the same time.
In the polestar i can compare three measures at the same time but i want to compare characteristics like year 2009 productline VS 2008 productline with one measure say sales revenue.

• Compare two different iPhoto Libraries

Is there any program that could compare two iPhoto Libraries and let me know the difference between them? I've got two libraries, they should have the same pictures, but for some reason one is 80GB bigger than the other one.
I know there are duplicates, but 80GB seems a lot for only duplicates, so I want to compare both of them and see what pictures are missing.

How many photos does iPhoto indicate in each of the libraries? Open the Photo mode, do a select all and see how many are indicated at the bottom of the window. See if that corresponds to the number beside the Photos icon under the Events library. Be sure to turn on Item Counts in iPhoto's General preference pane.
Which is the larger: the old or the new?

• How to use two different report items in SSRS page header

Hi All,
Can we use more than one report item in SSRS 2008 R2 page header...
Like this in expression..
=IIF(Globals!PageNumber=1,ReportItems!Col1.Value,ReportItems!Col2.Value)
Whenever Globals!PageNumber=1 I want to show values present in Col1 and when Globals!PageNumber<>1 then show values present in col2
Also let know if any other work around is there to meet above criteria...
Thanks,
RH
sql

Hi RH,
Based on my research, a text box in the page header can only refer to the ReportItems built-in collection once in an expression. So if we directly use the expression in the page header, we can receive the error message that “The Value expression for textrun’’
refer to more than one report item. An expression in a page header or footer can refer to only one report item”.
To work around the issue, we can add two text boxes to the page header: one for the textbox col1 value (=ReportItems!Col1.Value), another for the textbox col2 value (=ReportItems!Col2.Value). Then use the expressions as below to control the visibility of
those textboxes:
=iif(Globals!PageNumber=1,false,true)
=iif(Globals!PageNumber<>1,false,true)
Please note that only text boxes on the current page are available as a member of the ReportItems collection in a page header or page footer section. For example, if ReportItems!textbox_name.Value refers to a text box that only appears on the first page
for a multipage data region, we cannot see a value on other pages except the first page.

Using the ReportItems Collection References (Report Builder 3.0 and SSRS)

• BAPI or FM to compare two different invoices

Hi,
Is there any BAPI or FM to compare latest invoice with previous month's invoice. When a customer calls for high bill inquires (via IVR) we want a program to compare previous bills (by line item or document type) and populate the reason like. due to dunning charges or Interest charges etc. etc.
Appreciate your responses!
Thanks,
Aravind

Hi Aravind,
Select all the values from table ERDK based on Business Partner or Contract account level using FM ISU_S_ERDK_SELECT_ALL
Pass the previous invoice to FM ISU_IMPORT_PRINTDOC_FROM_MEM to get the data from memory.
If not available, get detail from the database using FM ISU_DB_BUF_PRINT_DOC_SINGLE in parameter Y_PRINT_DOC.
