To fetch column values based on selected month and year

Hi,
I have a requirement where I have 2 prompts Fiscal Year and month on a report.
Therefore when I select Year and the month I should get the ID's for the selected month till the first month of that fiscal year.
E.g By selecting July  and year 2013 I should get all the id's in the report from Jan 2013 till July 2013.
How to acheive his in OBIEE. Please help.

what is the column for comparing these two dates ? I am considering CALENDAR_DATE
CALENDAR_DATE BEWEEN
CAST(concat('01-JUL-', (CASE WHEN pv_month in ('JAN', 'FEB', 'MAR') THEN CAST(((CAST(RIGHT(pv_Year),4) AS INT) -1) as CHAR) ELSE CAST((RIGHT(v_Year),4) as CHAR) END)) AS  DATE)
AND
CAST(concat(concat(concat('01-', v_month),'-'),(CASE WHEN v_month in ('JAN', 'FEB', 'MAR') THEN CAST(((CAST(RIGHT(v_Year),4) AS INT) -1) as CHAR) ELSE CAST((RIGHT(v_Year),4) as CHAR) END) AS DATE)
This logic might work, just play around type casting..

Srinivas

  • Date Picker: Only select Month and Year

    Hallo,
    I try to configure the Date Picker. For the users it should only be possible to select Month and Year. The column should be automaticly completed with the first day of the select month and a static time (00:00:00).
    How can I do this?
    Sincerly

    You can't do that with a standard date picker. What you could do is to use it and after you change the value in it you modify the value using javascript and ajax similar to what I do in this example:

  • Elements 9 won't select month and year on calendar

    I just got element 9 and have tried to make a calendar for 2011.  The problem is, is that it won't even let me select the month and the year, it keeps on coming up as 2010.  I had a calendar printed out and didn't even notice the wrong year.  Have I done something wrong?  Can anyone help?
    Thanks
    meegsmum

    I'm having the same problem, but for calendar year 2012. If I enter January 2013, the program will provide a calendar for 2012. I've contacted adobe and their fix, is to update the camera raw plugin to 6.5, which won't even download. What this download has to do with creating a folder I have no idea.  I didn't catch the problem, until after I spent $180.00 in printing costs (my bad). Adobe support suggested I should have double checked the calendar before printing.  I believe we should have a product that works and doesn't require the consumer to have figure out how to out smart the bugs! Come on adobe this problem has been an issue for a year now. How about fixing the problem. Does adobe not monitor these forums?

  • Weird ORA-01406: fetched column value was truncated error for SELECT query

    DB version:10gR2
    When one of our application fires the below query, we get
    ORA-01406: fetched column value was truncatederror.
    select     trk_dtl,
         trk_type,
         trk_id,
         trk_desc,
    from     shp_dtl
    where     shp_type = 'HN'
    and     shp_type = 828;The documentation says
    Cause:In a host language program, a FETCH operation was forced to truncate a character string. The program buffer area for this column was not large enough to contain the entire string. The cursor return code from the fetch was +3.But when the application is pointed to an identical schema in the same instance, we don't get this error. So, this has got nothing to do client application as the documentation says.
    Any idea what other possibilities are there?

    Hi all,
    I have implemented an application with a master-detail form using Apex 3.1.2 and I imported that to Apex 3.2 on different server. Everything else seems to be fine except when I add detail record (clicking on Add Rows), I am getting following error.

  • Report suddenly showing ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-06502:

    Hi,
    Some reports in my applications are suddenly showing:
    ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small
    instead iof the data they used to show.
    In my development system I can fix this by:
    1. changing the column alias in my sql
    select 'a' alias1 from dual becomes
    select 'a' alias2 from dual
    2. SAVE CHANGES
    3. change column alias back to original
    select 'a' alias2 from dual becomes
    select 'a' alias1 from dual
    4. reorder columns back to original in the 'report attributes' tab
    alias1 is now at the bottom of my colum list - i just bounce it up to column 4 using the up arrows
    5. SAVE CHANGES
    then everything starts working OK again.
    There seems to be nothing wrong with my sql as I can make it works on a new page or after I run the above steps, so I guess something is breaking somewhere but I cannot work out what.
    Has anyone else seen this? Does anyone know the cause? Does anyone have a fix for this that does not involve the above steps (plus redeployment to prodcution and all the work that involves)?
    I am seeing this on version 2.3 and 3.0.
    Thanks,
    Martin

  • Report error: ORA-20001: Error fetching column value

    Hi,
    I try to build a tabular form with 1 column as "Select List (Query based on LOV)". This select list should display round about 1.100 rows in the LOV ordered by name. So I got the error: report error:
    ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numerischer oder Wertefehler: character string buffer too small
    When I try tho define this column as Popup LOV (Query based LOV) only the the ID of the attribute and not the display value appeares in the row. The LOV it self displays the display number and not the the ID. I want to see the display value in the column of the particular row and the LOV and return the ID to the record by insert or update as it is normal in LOVs of form regions.
    This lot of rows in the LOV is necessary because it is a part to develop formulas like (number_of_acquisitions - number_of_old_parts)/100 or so. The most formulas will be more complex. In the database there should only be the ID as reference to the attributes.
    Please help me to display the attribute bases on LOV in every particular row.
    Thank you
    Siegwin

    In Apex 4 there is now a column type "Popup Key LOV (named LOV)" which is exactly what you are looking for.

  • Selecting records based on month and year parameters

    Hi. I have a sql 2008 r2 stored procedure which needs modifying to return the data based on a start / end month and year.
    It's a large SP so I'll summarise - It accepts four parameters:
    @StartMonth NVARCHAR(10)
    @StartYear NVARCHAR(4)
    @EndMonth NVARCHAR(10)
    @EndYear NVARCHAR(4)
    The current WHERE clause is:
    WHERE ta.TimeByDay BETWEEN '01' + '-' + ltrim(LEFT(@StartMonth, 3)) + '-' + @StartYear
    AND convert(nvarchar,datediff(day, ta.TimeByDay, dateadd(month, 1, ta.TimeByDay))) + '-' + ltrim(LEFT(@EndMonth, 3)) + '-' + @EndYear
    Example of input parameters:
    @StartMonth = N'January',
    @StartYear = N'2014',
    @EndMonth = N'February',
    @EndYear = N'2014',
    Result:
    The conversion of a nvarchar data type to a datetime data type resulted in an out-of-range value.
    (1 row(s) affected)
    However it executes correctly if we do either of the following:
    1) Run the SQL direct in QA and type in January and February rather than passing in the Start/End Month parameters
    2) As you can see we use the following datediff call to get the number of days per month. IF I replace this with '28', or '31' for example the query also runs (oddly number 1 above then also runs by executing the SP):
    convert(nvarchar,datediff(day, ta.TimeByDay, dateadd(month, 1, ta.TimeByDay)))
    How do I update the WHERE clause to return records between a start/end month and year?
    I'm a day on this so any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    friends i have seen where the error is coming but i am unable to trace out how to increase the size of lov which i have made.
    when i am taking display as select list(named lov) it is throwing me the error "ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small" but if i am taking display as "popup lov(named lov)" under tablular form element under one of the column in the report, it is working properly. but not shwoing the report the way we want it to show. For that reason i want to increase the size of the love which i have made.

  • Classic Report - report error:ORA-20001: Error fetching column value

    Hi,
    In Apex 4 I have created an SQL report which errors with ORA-20001: Error fetching column value: ORA-01403: no data found.
    It works fine if I hard code the start and end dates but fails when I use page items as parameters.
    I call a stored function as below:
    DECLARE
    l_sql VARCHAR2(4000);
    BEGIN
    SELECT ICDB_PCT_MRSA_POS_REP(v('P40_NEWSTARTDATE'),
    v('P40_NEWENDDATE'))
    INTO l_sql
    FROM dual;
    RETURN(l_sql);
    END;
    although I have used the :P40_NEWSTARTDATE form too, with the same result.
    Any suggestions will be welcome.
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi Chris,
    have you debugged if ICDB_PCT_MRSA_POS_REP is raising the no-data-found error or if it's the actual SQL statement which got returned?
    Comment out the call to ICDB_PCT_MRSA_POS_REP and return a hard coded SQL statement with
    return 'select [... here comes a sample sql statement returned by ICDB_PCT_MRSA_POS_REP]';to rule out that ICDB_PCT_MRSA_POS_REP is raising the error.
    BTW what is the purpose of the select from dual? Just call the ICDB_PCT_MRSA_POS_REP directly like
    return ICDB_PCT_MRSA_POS_REP(:P40_NEWSTARTDATE, :P40_NEWENDDATE);Regards

  • Crystal Reports XI - How to pull same column value with different select...

    I have a report with many (around 30) sub reports and it is giving serious performance issue. I am currently finding out a strategy to improve the performance. I see that most of the sub reports are taking same parameters from main report except for one parameter which is different for each sub report and hard coded in them and pulling up the same column value from a oracle database with a different select criterion. I am trying to find out a way using either of command/crystal formula/SQL expression which can do the same job for me and give me performance improvement. I tried to take the parameters from the main report in one sub report and mapped them to parameters being transferred to the command and then drag and drop the field for which I need to display the value but due to some reason it is not returning values when I am trying multiple commands...I need some help in selecting a strategy for this issue resolution and some guidance....Any help would be highly appreciated....

    My version is 11.5.8.826. First of all I need to make it clear that I have 6 set of sub reports and each set has 5 sub reports. So if I can resolve the issue for one set, I resolve it for all. The sub reports are doing nothing but fetching a column value using a simple SQL SELECT query and appending to the right of a box in main report. The issue is that all these queries embedded into the sub reports are using same SQL except for one parameter in the "where" clause and they are fetching same column value from the database and fortunately all of them are returning same number of results. So at the end these results create a table when run. The only way I can stop using sub reports is by creating a table in the main report and use some object(formula/command/SQL expression or whatever) to fetch that column value using the same filter conditions. But please take a note that I need to use and append the same column value from a database table and use different filter conditions and append them to the right so that at the end they create a table...as long as I get the table in the output with a decent performance , anyone will be least bothered about what I used inside the report.....please ask me as many questions to get more lights on the issue....

  • ORA-01405: fetched column value is NULL

    Hi All,
    I am using OWB 10gR2 and DB 10gR2. I am getting the following error while executing the mapping,
    ORA-01405: fetched column value is NULL.
    I have used NVL function for the measure columns, but the problem is not solved.
    Can anybody please tell me solution,
    Thanks in advance,

    Hi Siva
    It may be that you've taken care of null value in just one place and now, the error is coming
    from somewhere further down the line.

  • Help Needed: Facing the error ORA-01406: fetched column value was truncated

    Hi Everyone,
    When I run a particular PL/SQL query using Oracle 9i ODBC driver, it is working fine and fetching me the desired results.
    However, when I run the same query using the Oracle 10g ODBC driver, I am getting the error: ORA-01406: fetched column value was truncated.
    I have checked all the fields of the table and they are well within the allowable limit.
    Can you please let us know what needs to be done to resolve this issue?
    Thanks and Regards,

    Well it's obviously a problem with the client software. Doesn't Datastage have some way of configuring these things?

  • Change Column Value based on Characteristic in Rows

    I am not sure it is possible.
    We have product prices at different levels of customer hierarchy.
    Channel > Division > Region > Market
    One Region can have multiple Markets.  Each market can have different Rates.  But the Region will have a different Rate which many not be the average rate of all market (assigned as part of master data)
    I have a column for Product Price.  So when a Report is run at Market Level it should use Market Rate.  If Market is Removed and Region is dragged into the report it should use Region Rate for Product Price.
    Product Price is Restricted by Rate Type value to determine which Rate is used.
    Is there a way to dynamically determine the define the column value based on the characteristic value in the ROWS.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    For every CHAR like Market/Region there will be some key. For example Maket1 = 11 and Market2 = 22. If that key is a number then you may create replacement path variable on that and convert the same in numbers then you may create various CKF (for various rate type) and put "If" condtion and check for those replacement path CKF and use the apprpriate one.
    You need to write some tricky formula at CKF levels. This is one of the way to achieve that.
    I hope it will help.
    Thanks,
    S
