"TO" field in Thunderbird 31.4.0 doesn't auto-fill as well as previous versions. Why so?

Previous versions of TB wold auto fill "TO" field as soon as the characters were unique. E.g., I have Manny in my address book. In earlier versions, if I typed "man", the field would autofill to Manny. Not true now. Que pasa?

I did a bit more research: I tried setting the CodedCharacterSet to utf8 myself:
exiftool -IPTC:CodedCharacterSet="UTF8" LR1.4.jpg
...thus forcing Exiftool to interpret the iptc tags as UTF8, but that didn't give me readable IPTC tags:

[IPTC] Caption-Abstract : Her ?r n?get m?rkeligt text. J???*@
Which led me to believe that Lightroom for Mac OS X isn't writing IPTC tags in UTF8 after all.
Finally I tried saving the content of the IPTC tags to a file, and opened that with TextMate, forcing it to interpret it as MacRoman. That worked. There were still a few weird characters here and there, but the danish characters were displayed.
So apparently Lightroom 1.4.1 and 2.0b on Mac OSX are saving their IPTC tags in MacRoman encoding. I would *really* like an option to have IPTC tags written in UTF8, because the IPTC tags currently generated from my Lightroom on Mac cannot be read properly on Windows or Linux systems.

When I tweet a page using the Share function in Safari, it doesn't auto fill if I enter @[and then the twitter name of someone in my contacts].
I've read that the auto fill doesn't pull straight from Twitter (which is a pain), but that it does pull fro your contacts if you have the Twitter name of someone recorded in their contact info. But mine doesn't pull from contacts either.
Is Twitter auto fill working for anyone in Safari 6.0's Twitter share function?

Different systems and your iPhone isn't hitting the same website as your Mac. It will be redirected to a mobile version, which likely is formatted differently.
If you know of someone who has it working that way in Safari, you might try Resetting Safari from the Safari menu.
Are all the other options checked in Safari Autofill preferences?

Some web sites deliberately prohibit auto-filling of fields. This is normally for security reasons (banks, credit cards). There is nothing that I am aware of that you can do to override the coding on those sites.

By "google voice search" do you mean that you are using the Google Search app and are unable to tap on the little microphone and search by speaking? If so, go to Settings>Privacy>Microphone and make sure that Google Search has permission to do use the microphone.

Auto-fill Picklists based on previous fields?

I am a complete newcomer to CRM on Demand and was wondering if anyone could help me out with this. In one tab I have an attribute called "Amount of Workers" where a number is entered.
This is followed by a Read Only Picklist called "Amount of Workers Bracket" where I am looking to have this auto populated with values like "1", "2 - 49", "50 - 99", "100 - 499", "500 - 5000" based on the amount entered in the previous field.
Can anyone please advise if this can be done?

It will be a little messy, but you can use a series of IIf functions nested within one another in a workflow that updates values in the <Amount of Workers Bracket> field.
IIf([<Amount of Workers>]='1', '1', IIf([<Amount of Workers>]>'2' AND [<Amount of Workers>]<'50', '2-49'...
I don't know how high this validation runs, but it won't be too scalable since there is a 1000 character limit in the expression builder. If he 2 fields are custom fields, create them first with a single letter and then change the name. This will give you much needed space when building the expression.

Apparently 4.0 is for Intel Macs only. I have a Power Mac. Actually, my wife uses Firefox and now she is reeaally mad at me cuz she cannot open her browser. I went back into the Macandfound the original version 2.o. It opens up but has my bookmarks and not hers and it acts squirrelly.
I could not find a version 3.*** to download anywhere online.

You need to be aware that the methods of storing bookmarks have changed. See for instance [[Firefox 3 upgrade switches bookmarks and other settings to older version]] You will have to be very careful not to permanently loose bookmarks and paswords. Privacy Browsing on, web history auto-fills into new tab URL field

Even with Privacy Browsing on, when I go to open a new tab and then start typing in the URL field of the new tab, it tries to auto-fill or offer up a list of previously visited websited, ones only visited with the Privacy Browsing on.
How do I clear those and prevent them from appearing?

Well, again, the issue was reported with Chrome, so I'd use that to test. (IE might 'fill' the form in a way that ADF can detect it, whereas Chrome may fill the form in a way that ADF doens't sense it.) With Chrome, (using an address as the example), you'd go to the street address field, and Chrome would display a drop-down list of saved addresses. (You can set up the addresses in the settings page that I described above.) Once you pick from one of the addresses, it would fill in ALL of the address fields (e.g. street address, city, state, zip) for you. It is these other 'auto-filled' fields that ADF doesn't sense have anything in them.
I'll see if I can put together a simple ADF project and instructions for how to reproduce using Chrome....

Need Help: I need a check box to auto fill a set value in separate text field.

Hi, this is my first time with inserting scripts into a PDF Form.
We have a form that requires the user to check a box regarding medical conditions they have (i.e. Asthma, Diabetes, Hypertension). Later in the form, they have to type out the same condition into a text box. (I know stupid to double document, but it is required). Is there a script that will auto fill the text box when they check the box? For example, if they check asthma, the text box on a later page in the PDF will say "Asthma, controlled." Is this possible?
In addition, if they don't click Asthma, and do click Diabetes, could it add Diabetes to the first text box, but if they check both, it would add Asthma to box 1 and Diabetes to box 2?
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

Hi, I'm staring at the code trying to make it work for my needs, which are similar to Austin's.
I have a 16-page form with 2,988 checkboxes in the entire document (a little over 200 in each page besides the first and last page). The last page contains a textbox labled Summary, and it should provide a summary of all the items checked in the document. Theoretically only one page will be populated at a time, so there will be no more than 200 checkboxes checked in the entire document.
Is it possible to use the same code? And do I just put the code under the text in the script that reads:
form1.SummaryPage.SummaryText::calculate - (JavaScript, client)
The JS I am trying to get to work is the following from a post above.

In the new version of Thunderbird it seems impossible to set that attachments are shown as"Read only". It was possible in previous versions. Can anybody help?

In previous version of Thunderbird it was possible to set that incoming attachments are shown as "Read only". The solution was to set browser.helperApps.deleteTempFileOnExit as TRUE. In the latest version, no matter how I set this value,. the attachments ARE NOT shown as Read Only. As I need my attachments to be shown as Read Only, I had to restore older versions of Thunderbird. Does anybody have an idea how I can solve this in the new version of Thunderbird ?

I don't see a solution on these links. I am not a computer expert, but it was easy to fix in previous versions of Thunderbird. I can't do it now with the latest version, on either Windows 7 or 8.
