"To field" Mail Crashing

Question

When I type "sh" in the "To" field in mail, and then scroll through the list of contacts, the screen go black and then goes back to the home screen. I guess you would say it crashes. This is happening on both my wife's and my iPhone. We both sync to the same iMac if that helps.
Wondering if anyone else has this problem or has figured out a solution.
I have temporarily found a workaround. If I only type "s" I can scroll through the list of contacts with out it crashing.

I am having same problem on both my ipad and my ipod touch. After hours of trying to sort this out I finally had to delete my mail accounts on my ipad and ipod touch and reload them. I tried finding the undeliverable email on webmail.shaw.ca and deleting it. That did not help as shaw mail would not sync to the ipad and ipod touch to delete out the bad email.
Apple needs to get this fixed very soon. I wasted hours on this and no longer have email on my ipad that I require.
I understand from talking with apple senior tech that this has been happening for at least a couple of months and that Shaw is aware of it.
WHat other email providers are causing this problem? Just Shaw or others as well?
Also if webmaster is listening, we need OS listings for iPad listed here as well.
