To find percentage value in VOFM -Formulas

Hi friends ,
I have custom routine in VOFM - formula- condition value . When i calculate percentage of XKWERT , it is adding extra zeros in the result .. I have tried with many values .. after searching i found , it has to be divided by 10000, instead by 100 . but not working fine ..
Please let me know if you know any other procedure to find percentage.

Hi,
For few of the materials, if it is of BOM material, then though the ratio is with respect to the 1 material, when come into the real scenario, even if you enter 1 materials, based on the material type, it will be in the form of 10 or 100 units.
i.e. For that product minimum of those many materials is required, hence it is considering those many amounts.

How to get the max value of a set of percentage values?

Hi,
I've tried to get the max and min value of a set of calculated percentage values. Such as
Jan Feb March Apr May Jun Min Average Max
0,5 0,8 1,1 0,4 1 0,6 0,4 0,7 1,1
The average value works fine. But with "min" and "max" I have a problem.
I've tried to get the value with the following ways:
- Create a new calc. keyfigure and make a sum of all values: (Jan + Feb + ...) and set the calculation in key figure properties to Min/Max.
- Create a new calc. keyfigure and make a sum of all values and set the aggregation to Min/Max
- Create a selected keyfigure with a filter to the necessary periods and set a calculation to Min (Aggregation is not possible here)
- Create a new cal. keyfigure with all periods and the function Min. e.g. min(Jan, (min Feb, (min (....)
None of this solutions provides the right min and max value. When I use an amount value (e.g. Euro) instead of these percentage values the keyfigure with the min and max function works. The others all provide wrong values.
Is there a solution to get the right min and max value???
It would be a great help when you have any hints.

thanks for your answer but your solution doesn't work.
The problem is that the periods are defined in a structure with offsets such as
- period-11
- period-10
- period
in this structure elements there is also the keyfigure "netvalue" defined.
In the rows of the report there is another characteristic such as company code.
Is there a solution to find the max and min values of the period values for each company code? Or must I change the data model e.g. copy the keyfigure and make a new keyfigure with another aggregation level?

In my case minimum (login) time changes and maximum(logout) time changes everyday.
I want to create from minimum (login) to maximum(logout) for every hour, how many people are online. How to do?.

i found minimum (login) and maximum(logout) using below formula. Now i want to find every hour from minimum (login) to maximum(logout) , so i can use each hour value in formula to calculate how many people are online for that particular time. How to do that?.

How to find the value of a variable in other program say I am in a FM and this FM is being called in from other program and I want to know some of the variable details of the program from the FM itself.      you will be having your first program values in internal table or some variables,
    when you are calling the second program you wii use like this,

Query is :

I use the above query to display the flash pie chart percentage values.
The values are displayed in percentage in legend as well as on the chart.
I need to display the values in the legend and percentage values in the chart.
How this can be achieved ?

Hi,
I have got a requirement to show percentage values in Y AXIS.
X axis is year. There is legend color. Below the result set of the query, on top of this i have to do report. (Data set query cant be changed as it already using for other report)
Sample Data
Year Color
2012 Black
2012 Black
2012 Red
2013 Black
2013 Black
2013 Red
2013 Red
My requirement is like year 2012, for black 66% (2/3) and for red 33%(1/3).
How can we achieve this without using extra dataset and lookup?

According to your description, you want to display the proportion for each color within each year.
In your scenario, you can achieve your requirement follow steps below:
1. Design a chart, specify the Category Groups with [Year] and [Color]. Then check the group name of the [Year].
2. Specify the expression within Values panel like below:
=Count(Fields!Color.Value)/Count(Fields!Color.Value,"Chart1_CategoryGroup")
3. Right click the chart to open Seriese Label Properties, change the number formatting option as Percentage on Number page. Then preview the report.

How to use a cumulative value in a formula

I have a question about how to use a cumulative value in a formula. Below is the example:
                        wk1   wk2   wk3   wk4   wk5....wk n
sales order        5       10    15      10      5
build plan          8       8     10      15     10
result                3       1      -4       1       6
result row is what I want to get, the formula is:
wk1 result = wk1 build plan - wk1 sales order
wk2 result = wk1 build plan + wk2 build plan - (wk1 sales order + wk2 sales order)
wk3 result = wk1 build plan + wk2 build plan + wk3 build plan - (wk1 sales order + wk2 sales order + wk3 sales order)
I've already ticked the cumulative in properity of the key figures. It seems like that the cumulative results only can display, but can't be used in formula. Could you please help me? Many many thanks !!

In properties of that formula, there is option called 'formula collision' there you select 'formula from compiting result'. I think this will solve the problem.

How to change the variable value in fox formula?

    Please help me achieve this scenario,
         in the variable selection screen , i wil give some i/p like, calyear(0calyear) = 2008.
      In planing function using FOX formula, i must be able change the variable value to 2009.
Will it be possible to achieve this, can we change a variable value using FOX formula, if possible

i dont know what is your requirement exactly.If you can give a better explanation of ur requirement we can help you. But to answer your question yes we can get new values for the variable in the planning function.
for this you need to couple the planning function together with the planning filter in a planning sequence. This planning filter should have the variable that you wanted to change. In the WAD when you want to call this planning sequence there is an option to call variable screen. If you enable this, it will pop up the variable screen to get this value again.

How to use cumulative Value in a formula

Hello Gurus,
I would like to use the cumulative value in a query as part of a formula calculation. I have created a KF which is assigned a constant value 1. When displaying the KF I am cumulating it so for each row I am getting 1,2,3,4...etc. How can I use this cumulated value in a formula calculation?
For example, in a column cumulative count is 1,2,3,4...etc .My requirement is ,i want to identify the record with number 36 , to do this i have created a formula with boolean Equal to function comparing with the required number, but the boolean result what am i getting is Zero instead of one(1).
The reason i found behind the problem is, the cumulative count that we see is dynamically happening during the run time for display ,but the internal value is 1 only.
Is there any other way to meet this requirement or am i missing anypoint?.

Dear Yaseen,
To get the value in formula cumulative,after you have created the formula for that particular key figure,go to edit and click on tab "calculations".
In that select overall result as 'count all values not equal to zero' and single result as 'count all values not equal to zero' .
And mark the cumulative check box underneath.

I am trying to solve a problem where report parameter value that is set at Management Console is wiped out after calling replaceConnection.
databaseController.replaceConnection(oldConnectionInfo, newConnectionInfo,
null,DBOptions._doNotVerifyDB);
We have to support changing database connection from a java utility
class. But once replaceConnection is called all existing static parameter values are lost. To fix this issue we thought of getting parameters and values before calling replaceConnection and setting it after replaceConnection.
Version is CS2008 SP3 - version 12.3.0.601
If there is any other option of fixing the original wipe out issue?
ParameterValues.getValues() didn't return value. I will try ParameterValues.getCurrentCalues() but the document says ParameterValues.getValues() is equivalent to the IParameterField.getCurrentValues() method unless it is empty, in which case it is equivalent to the IParameterField.getDefaultValues() method.
So getCurrentValues() may not work.

Read TPIK3 in an internal table, then search COEP-KSTAR in this table, with KSTAR between TPIK3-KSTRF and TPIK3-KSTRT, and other keys like Controlling Area and application/component (eg "PS" in project-system as in CJVC or "PM" in Maintenance as in IW33, multiple application use this table). You can also use a FM like PS_FIND_ACPOS_FOR_KSTAR.

sorry, i got no idea how to get the datatype of a variant, but there are properties "ActualSize" and "Type" of the ADO Field-Object. In case of an empty field the ActualSize is zero. Maybe you can use that. See VI below.
