To find timestamp of Exchange 2010 Online Archive Execution Status

Hi,
I would like to have Exchange online archive execution timestamp whenever it's running through managed retention policies.
Can anyone help to provide the script or way to find the last online archive completion status for individual mailbox level?
The following command does not providing when the last online archive completed.
==============================================================
Get-Mailbox "user1" | Get-MailboxStatistics -archive | fl displayName,Database,itemcount,totalitemsize,LastLogonTime,lastlogofftime,storagelimitstatus
DisplayName        : Online Archive - User1
Database           : MBX-OnlineArchive1
ItemCount          : 5216
TotalItemSize      : 789.3 MB (827,625,361 bytes)
LastLogonTime      : 12/31/2013 1:19:00 PM
LastLogoffTime     : 12/31/2013 1:20:47 PM

  • Exchange 2010 Online Archiving - Folder Structure Incorrect

    Greetings,
We have recently been enabling Exchange Archiving for various users with great success.  I have one particular user that we have enabled it on, and it appears the Online Archive folder structure is not being generated when items are processed to be
archives.  Items are being archive to the root of the Online Archive mailbox, where with other users, we notice that it create a folder that matches the same folder in the users primary mailbox and then moves the messages to that folder.
What would be causing this not to generate a folder structure that matches the folder structure on the users primary inbox?  We have seen these successfully done on multiple users, but this particular users it is not working.  As I stated above, all
archived e-mails are being stored in the root folder of the Online Archive Mailbox.
    Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.
    Cheers

    Hi,
I would like to verify if you use the same method to enable online archive for these users.
I recommend you use the following cmdlet to enable online archive for this problematic user.
Enable-Mailbox [email protected] -RemoteArchive -ArchiveDomain "xxx.xxx.xxx"
What's more, you can use the Get-Mailbox alias -Archive | fl name, archive* to check the archive information.
Here is a helpful article for your reference.

  • Contacts app not finding names in Exchange 2010

Contacts app not finding names in Exchange 2010 server
This is weird, could be a bug in 10.8.2, not sure, want to see if anyone else is seeing this.
    Mountain Lion 10.8.2
Exchnage account created for: Mail, Contacts, Calendars. All looks good there.
Cannot lookup names / email addresses in Contacts Global Address List (GAL) or in Mail app.
Can delete the Exchnage account in Contacts and re-add it, and it will work.
Once Contacts quits and is re-luanched, no dice. No connection, just spins and spins.
Eventually Contacts app crashes, (not responding).
Outlook 2011 works just fine, seems an issue with Contacts.
    Thanks,
    John K

I thinkk this is a bug in Contacts app,  7.1 (1167),  in MT Lion.
If one inputs the actual AD domain controllers dns name, for the Internal Server, Contacts app does the lookup successfully and pretty quick.
This is how it is on Outlook 2011 BTW. Directoy Service in OL 2011 is the AD domain controller FQDN, not the Exchnage server.
    thanks,

  • Exchange 2010 Excessive Archive Transaction Logs

I've got an Exchange 2010 environment with about 225 users over 6 mailbox DB's with corresponding Archive DB's.
They're seeing log files for the archive DB's growing by about 25-30% of the total DB size daily. Those logs are generally about 8 x the logs generated by the corresponding primary mailbox database.
    Something like
    DB1 = 20GB  daily average logs 2GB
    DB1Archive = 90GB daily average logs ~28GB
I don't see any Retention policies that have duplicated Tags and the Default policy has no tags assigned.
The customer wants to continue with their existing backup process of weekly fulls and daily incremental/differentials, and missing two days is enough to max out their transaction log volumes. (which are as large as their combined database size).
The archive db's have been in place for at least 12 weeks now so it's not just initial population, which is obvious by the fact that the archive db's are much larger than the original db's and the total logs in a week exceed the DB volumes by 2-3 times.

    Hi,
First, please make sure there is no corruption in the retention policies.
If there is no corruption, I recommend you create a new archive mailbox database and move archive mailbox to this new database to check result.
Besides, here is a similar thread for your reference.

  • Exchange 2010 personal archive database massive log file generation

    Exchange Server 2010 SP3 + Update Rollup 4
Windows Server 2008 R2, all updates
    VMware ESXi 5.5
Server config: 2 x Xeon Quad Core 2.20GHz, 16GB RAM
We recently started using personal archives. I created a database for this purpose ("Archive Mailboxes") on the same datastore as our live mailbox database ("Live Mailboxes"). It works great except that the mailbox maintenance generates
massive amounts of log files, over 220GB per day on average. I need to know why. The Live Mailbox database generates around 70GB of log files every day. The database sizes are: Live = 159.9GB, Archive = 196.8GB. Everything appears to be working fine, there
are no Error events related to archiving. There are 10025 MSExchangeMailboxAssistant warning events logged every day. I have moved those mailboxes back-and-forth to temp databases (both Live and Archive mailboxes) and the 10025 events have not stopped so I'm
reasonably certain there is no corruption. Even if there were it still doesn't make sense to me that over 100 log files are generated every single minute of the day for the Archive store. And it's not that the database isn't being fully backed up; it is, every
    day.
Do I need to disable the 24x7 option for mailbox maintenance to stop this massive log file generation? Should I disable mailbox maintenance altogether for the Archive store? Should I enable circular logging for the Archive store (would prefer to NOT do this,
though I am 100% certain we have great backups)? It appears to me that mailbox maintenance on the Live store takes around 12 hours to run so I'm not sure it needs the 24x7 option.
This is perplexing. Need to find a solution. Backup storage space is being rapidly consumed.

I'm sure it will be fine for maintenance to run only on weekends so I'll do that.
We use Veeam B&R Enterprise 7.0.0.833. We do not run incremental backups during the day but probably could if necessary. All this is fine and dandy but it still doesn't explain why this process generates so many logs. There are a lot of posts around
the internet from people with the same issue so it would be nice to hear something from Microsoft, even if this is expected behavior.
    Thank you for the suggestions!

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 Update Rollup 2 (KB2866475) personal archive issue

I’m wondering if anyone else has run across this issue:  We use the Exchange personal online archives, and after installing the rollup, anyone with full access to someone else’s mailbox had all the personal archive names changed to the
same name.  As an example, if I had full access to Joe’s mailbox, then the name of Joe’s personal archive, as shown on my Outlook 2010, would display “Archive – Paul@company” rather than “Personal Archive – Joe”. Uninstalling the rollup put
everything back to normal.  So, has anyone else seen this?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Have you checked it via OWA? Is it the same with Outlook 2010?
If the issue doesn’t occur when you use OWA, I recommend you recreate Outlook profile to check the result.
If OWA also has the issue, please make sure whether all users are impacted by the issue.

  • Online Archive only visible in Outlook 2010 after OWA logon

    Dear.
We implemented Exchange 2010 native archiving. We created our own retention policies, applied them to the mailboxes and archiving started successfully exactly as we want it.
We’re using Outlook 2010 clients with both: cached and non-cached mode. The strange thing is that for the online archive to be visible in outlook, the user needs to logon to OWA
first and only once. Afterwards, online archive stills visible in Outlook 2010.
Is there any other way to make the online archive visible without forcing the user to do a one-time logon to OWA?
    Thanks for the feedback.
    Regards.

  • Online Archives for Outlook 2013 do not appear in Outlook 2013 running on Terminal Server

    Hello,
We are currently attempting to get our users away from using PST files and instead use the Personal Online Archive feature but have come across a problem
    Environment
Windows 2008 R2 Remote Desktop Services (Terminal Server)
    Office 2013
    Citrix 6.5 XenApp
So on the Exchange side I went through the steps of setting up my PST use as a guinea pig for testing.  I was able to setup the Archive database, enable archiving on my mailbox, and import my PST into the Archive database.
I then opened Outlook 2013 on my stand-alone PC and there was my Online Archive. Great!
I then double checked and also saw it on the OWA site on the Exchange server.  Super!
I finally logged into our RDS (Terminal) server and opened Outlook 2013 there.  But the Online archive was not there.  Hmmm..
I did some researching and this article about Outlook 2010 suggested it was a permission issue:
    http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/1e8d5d4b-e26b-4be6-b646-eb6e796c6295/exchange-2010-mail-archive-missing-in-outlook-2010-shows-in-owa?forum=outlook
So I ran through those steps in Powershell but no change.
I also don't think it's a licensing issue because the license I have on my stand-alone PC is the same volume license keys (MAK) as on my Terminal Server.
Soo... I'm a bit stuck and was hoping for some help.  I can't proceed with migrating other PST files to the online archive until I get this resolved.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    In theory,
    Outlook reads the
msExchDelegateLink attribute of the user in AD to display the additional mailbox (Online Archive folder).
Since the standalone client can display the archive mailbox properly, it seems this attribute is available in AD. I suspect the issue locates on the way that the terminal
clients access the server. I suggest we check whether the client has properly permission to connect to AD when accessing remotely.

  • Online Archiving and Mailbox sharing exchange 2010

    Hi Guys
is it possible to share a mailbox without sharing the online archive attached to it, the issue I'm having is that one of my users is sharing his mailbox with his PA, he happens to have a very large amount of subfolders under all his folders and not just
the inbox, this also includes his sent items and deleted items that have subfolders in them too, his PA happens to need access to these folders too. but with the online archive attached, the amount of subfolders connected appear to be more than outlook can
handle, and it throws an out of memory error and the user then has to restart outlook before being able to send any mails again. alternatively is there a way to share all the subfolders without painstakingly setting the permissions on each folder one by one.
    Cheers

You can open the database where user mailbox is located in ExFolders and then add permission for Inbox folder and then propagate that permission to all subfolders.
This article is using PFDavAdmin but will help you to understand what you need to do via ExFolders on Exchange 2010...

  • Exchange 2010's "Online Archive" doesn't appear in Outlook 2010

    Hi,
I recently installed Exchange 2010, and all is working fine but the online archive feature.
I activated it for 2 of my users, it appears correctly in OWA, but doesn't appear in Outlook 2010 (Tech Preview).
What I am missing ? The only howtos I found state that you only have to setup Outlook, and the main mailbox + the online archive will appear... But I just have the main mailbox.
    If you've an idea... :)

I did some testing on this whole Personal Archive thing as even when using a new version and new license key the archive wasn’t showing in Outlook 2010 (yet was showing in OWA).
So I setup two machines (VMs) running Windows 7 Ultimate.
One was x64 and the other x86 but vanilla installs.
Installed Office 2010 Professional Plus download from TechNet (the iso image with both x86 and x64 versions on it).
Installed the lastest Office updates published via MS Update.
Used the same license key for both installs of Office.
    Exchange 2010 backend running SP1.
When the machines are not in a domain the archive doesn’t show in Outlook (both x86 and x64).
Pop the machines into the same AD domain as the Exchange server and hey presto the archive shows on both Outlook versions (x86 and x64).
Just to check things I removed them from the domain - archive folder missing again.
Re-added back to domain - archive folder shows.
It seems for the TechNet version anyhow the machine should be in a domain.
    I can’t comment on other versions/license keys.

  • Online Archives in Outlook 2010 disappeared after Exchange 2010 SP3 upgrade

I have Exchange 2010 and noticed it has never been updated since having it in production for 3 years now. So I downloaded SP3 and installed it after hours. After the install was complete, rollups 5,6,7, showed up in Windows Update so I installed those too.
Before I did the upgrade to SP3, I had Online Archives visible on just my user account mailbox and have about 2 years worth of emails in there. Since the upgrade, it is no longer visible in my Outlook 2010. I have tried to fix to remove SELF and re add it
to the mailbox with no change to the issue. I have tried to disable Archive for my mailbox and re-add. Nothing. Don't really know what else to try. Any ideas?

    Anyone?

  • Exchange 2010 Enterprise - Online Archive not visible in office 2013 professional plus and mailbox shared

    Hi!
Outlook 2013 professional plus was working perfectly weeks ago, then out of nowhere new profiles doesn't have visible in Outlook the online archive and the shared mailboxes, however it shows up in OWA.
It was given full permission for those users with no results, online archive is enabled, profiles were already deleted and recriated.
    The older profiles work perfectly.
We have the services ActiveSync, Autodiscover, Outlook Anywhere, OWA and they're all working with no errors.
    Regards
    Tiago Barradas

    Hi Tiago,
From your description, OWA works work, so your Exchange server is ok.
I recommend you check the following thing for troubleshooting:
Please configure a mail profile with another user who has an Online Archive on that machine and check the result. If it works well, there is something with the problematic mailbox. If the issue persists, the issue is related to your Outlook.
    Hope it helps.

  • Outlook 2010 clients cannot access their Online Archive mailbox in Exchange 2013??

    Hello,
I have an issue where my Outlook 2010user cannot see/access their Archive mailbox when they are migrated from Exchange 2010 to Exchange 2013.
Both the live and archive mailbox is in Exchange 2013, the user can launch Outlook but if they click on their Archive mailbox it is unavailable.
Once the user is upgraded to SP2 or Outlook 2013 they have no issues accessing their archive mailbox.
These users have the minimum required Outlook version (14.0.6126.5000),
    they are running 14.0.6129.5000.
Is there a different requirement on the Outlook client if the user has an archive mailbox in Exchange 2013 as well?
    Thank you.
