  • Report Layout width(Report based on SQL Query)

    Is there any way to increase the width of the report layout? I have removed as many columns as I can and dropped the font size down but the data in the columns is still wrapping to more than one line. How can I increase the report layout width, or change the layout to landscape or something similar.
    thanks

    I had this problem with wrapping text. You have to create a Reports From SQL Query and choose a custom layout. Then when you go the the HTML layout section, you will need to ad nowrap to the <TD> tag (i.e. <TD nowrap>) for each field you do not want to wrap.

  • Report width in report builder 6i

    Hi Experts,
    I am working on report builder 6i reports. I want to increase the report width in the layout.
    I click on layout, properties, i changed the width to 700 for header, body and footer section.
    But when i run the report from concurrent program, it's giving error.
    Error: REP-1212: Object 'Body' is not fully enclosed by its enclosing object
    Could some body help me, how to fix this issue.

    Hi,
    Thanks for your reply. To get rid off that error, i did the following thing.
    I set the width as 132, and height as 62 of header, main body and trailer section in report builder.
    In Concurrent program window also, i set the column as 132 and rows as 62, and style as BAC.
    When i submit the report through concurrent program, it's working fine.
    Now i changed the width of the report to 200 and height to 66.
    Now, i want to change the style to A4 in concurrent program window. I don't have A4 style in list of values. I went to SYSTEM ADMINISTRATOR ---> INSTALL --> PRINTER --> TYPES. (Added A4 style to all types)
    Now i changed the columns to 200 and rows to 66 and style as A4.
    Now, it's showing below error.
    ERROR: APP-FND-00314:INVALID PRINTER.
    Again i selected BAC style and try to submit the program, it's giving different error.
    REP-1219: 'Body' has no size - length or width is zero.
    Could somebody help me to solve the issue. (Why it's giving above error after adding the A4 style to all types of printers) and why did i get the previous errors (REP-1212, Body fully not enclosed).
    Kindly help me, it's urgent.
    Thanks.

  • Does not allow to increase width of the filed

    hi all,
    well i have report that is designed by someone else in report 6i, now i want to change the width of one filed , that is i want to increase width but it does not allow me to change it
    how to change it??
    thanks
    abhi.

    There can be two reasons...
    1. Check the outer frame(s) for that field. I mean if that field exists in repeating frame or main frame then increase the frame size first then you can increase the field side.
    2. There is one button in the LAYOUT SECTION at top called FREEZE PANES. If it is pressed mean if you will resize the field size then frame side will be automatically adjust. So, suppose you replay LAYOUT section's size is not allowing you yo increase the frames out of the LAYOUT section. If it is then increase the layout section size and try..

  • Custom Report Layout with mutliple child tables

    I am trying to create a custom report layout (using Bi Publisher) where I have parent data (multiple jobs on a page) and several child tables for each job (JobDays and JobStops) and several child tables for JobDays (JobDayProviders, JobDayCrew). On the apex screen, I have a join on Jobs and JobDays and I am using functions to string each child row value for JobDayProviders and JobDayCrew together and putting a <br> in between so that they will format on separate lines within a cell. It works fine on the screen but when trying to print to pdf, it ignores these line breaks. I have also tried using <br></br> (saw an article that said just use HTML in bi pulisher) which puts two lines in between each value on the screen and is still ignored on the pdf.
    for example:
    Table hierarchy:
    Jobs table
    Job Stops
    Job Days
    Job Day Service Providers
    Job Day Crew
    Report Layout per job (will have mutlipe jobs to print, just printing 1 day per job):
    Jobs.col1 JobStops.row1 JobDay.col1 JobDayProviders.row1 JobDayCrew.r1
    JobStops.row2 JobDayProviders.row2 JobDayCrew.r2
    JobDayProviders.row3
    Thanks,
    Linda
    First, is there a way to get bi publisher to recognize the line breaks? If not, what is the best way to create a custom report for this scenario? I tried to create a report query with mutliple queries, but cannot determine how to link the child queries to the paren query. I have seen an example where a button is pressed to print one parent row and the id of that row is saved and referenced as a parameter in each of the queries, but if printing mutliple parents on a report, how would I link the child queries to the parent query?

    Helen,
    The best way for your case is to use a content folder and customize it whichever way you like.
    however, your question is about reports. the problem in reports is this that you have to use just one single query and the layout of the results of this query are displayed in a peculiar way.
    anyway. something similar but not exactly the same as what you wanted do is the following.
    use a query like the following: (with a union in between)
    SELECT COLUMN1,NULL , NULL ,NULL ,NULL
    FROM my_source_table
    WHERE myCriteria LIKE 'SoAndSo%'
    UNION
    SELECT NULL,COLUMN2 , COLUMN3, COLUMN4, COLUMN5
    FROM my_source_table
    WHERE myCriteria LIKE 'SoAndSo%'
    ---------- Now, have the following codes in the layout segments:
    <!--- header --->
    <table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" width="20%" align="center">
    <!--- body --->
    <tr align="center">
    <td><table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0" width="30%" align="center">
    <tr align="center">
    <TH><#COLUMN1.FIELD#></TH>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </td>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN2.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN3.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN4.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN5.FIELD#></TD>
    </tr>
    <!--- footer --->
    <TR><TD></TD></TR>
    this should produce a report with a table structure (you may see the whole if you give BORDER="1" in the main table tag). Within this table, the first column of the first row should be showing top-leftmost column value once (COLUMN1 value) and then the next rows would show last four column values as a table block on the right-bottom part.

  • Example Named Column Report Layout?

    Howdy,
    Using APEX 3.1.2, I've successfully setup and tested Apache FOP for a print server. I'm hoping to create a multi-line report layout to emulate the MS Access (of Evil) one this app is replacing, but I'm having trouble getting started.
    It seems that I need to create a Named Column report layout. I've been scouring this forum, the web, and even the new Pro APEX book to find an example of the contents of even the simplest of these XSL-FO files, but I can't find one anywhere. Granted, a little XSL-FO experience would help here, but I can't seem to glean enough from the web to put the pieces together, at least as it applies to APEX. It seems that the examples I do find contain static data, whereas it looks like I should be creating a template form for APEX to populate for passing onto the FOP engine.
    Does anyone have a simple two-column layout they'd be willing to share? Or a good weblink?
    TIA!

  • Custom report layout question...can't find any answers anywhere

    I am trying to build a report in Portal, using the custom report layout. The report displays like so, before I do any customization:
    COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN1 COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    where COLUMN1 is the same value, always per report; COLUMN2 and COLUMN3 vary.
    What I want is:
    COLUMN1
    COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    COLUMN2 COLUMN3
    In the report layout editor, Body section, this is what I see:
    <TD ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN1.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN2.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN3.FIELD#></TD>
    so #COLUMN1.FIELD# must be some kind of array, but I am not finding any documentation anywhere on how to reference the individual values. All I need is the very first value of the COLUMN1 variable. Once I have that value, I can put it where I need it, but I can't get at that value, just the array.
    I have searched portal center, the app server documentation, html documentation. I have googled everything I could think of, but came up with nothing. I found a similar question on this forum, but no one responded with an answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Setting report layout to A4 wide?

    How can we set report layout to A4 wide?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    You need to change the Height and width of all the three sections ie header,main and trailor and the values should be same for all the three sections.
    One more thing you can do is go to properties at report level and change the orientation to landscape from portrait

    AND Call_Type_Interval.DateTime <= :end_date
    GROUP BY Call_Type.EnterpriseName,
    Call_Type.Description,
    Call_Type_Interval.CallTypeID
    For this definition i wanted to create a customized report which is apparently not possible.

  • How to edit report layout

    I have a report layout and noticed there is 'Column Template Width'. The content of column Template width is '<fo:table-column column-width="#COLUMN_WIDTH#pt"/>'.
    I think i can change column width by modifing the code here. Does anyone know how to do it? Can you share with me your sample?

    If you modify an existing template, the changes will immediately go into effect across your application.
    That being said..
    1) Create a copy of the template.
    2) Modify an existing report to use the template copy by setting the appropriate template in the drop-down selection.
    3) Now you can start experimenting with individual settings.
    In the report template, there is a section where you can alter individual column designs such as the width. Normally, HTML will variably size the width of columns in a table to "fit" the contents on one line (if possible) and so that the entire table width can be displayed in the browser. If this is not possible the browser selects some middle point. If you wish to override the browser and manually set the column widths, you can use the Column Template Width setting to designate this. Simply replace "#COLUMN_WIDTH#pt" with your value: "80pt" for a fixed, 80pt width column.

  • Controlling Column Width in Report Region

    I have a report region based on a simple select statement. I'd like the table to be the full width of the region and I'd like the columns to be spaced evenly so that they are also the full width of the region. I have figured out how to set the table width via Report Attributes Substitution, but I am unable to set the column width. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Report Queries and Report Layout

    Hello,
    I currently have several report queries with existing report layouts done in xsl.fo. I will be upgrading to Apex 4.0 in the next couple of months and I wanted to make sure that my reports will still work. I have an account on the Oracle hosted site and created a report query with an xsl.fo file.
    I understand that it requires the fop.war file to run on the server for it to work, but I have used the oracle hosted site before and was able to create report queries and custom report layouts.
    I am using an xsl fo editor called javaforless, which creates the .fo file and then I make adjustments to the file, before I create the report query and then load the file when I am creating the query.
    The report works correctly if I use the generic layout, but I have many reports with custom layouts that will be going to Apex 4.0 and I want to ensure that they will still work. Please look at the error below and give me some insight to why this is happening:
    Error opening document. This file cannot be opened because it has no page.Thanks,
    Mary

    Is there a bug on the Oracle hosted site for reports.
    I was able to run a report query with a cutsom report file (xsl.fo) on the hosted site. The file didn't throw any errors, though I don't understand why it doesn't. I had to create a blank field to have a border, which creates my lines in apex. code below:
    <fo:table-cell   number-columns-spanned="1">
          <fo:block   border-color="#404040" border-style="solid" border-width="medium"   margin-left="0.0cm" margin-right="0.0cm"  margin-top="0.0cm"  font-size="10pt"  font-family="SansSerif"  color="#000000"  text-align="left"></fo:block>
            </fo:table-cell>My original code uses the fo:leader, which works fine in Apex 3.2 but will throw errors if I use it in 4.0.2 and not open the file.
    <fo:table-row  background-color="#ffffff" height="0.89cm">
            <fo:table-cell   number-columns-spanned="2">
          <fo:block margin-left="0.0cm" margin-right="0.0cm"  margin-top="0.27cm" ><fo:leader leader-pattern="rule" color="#000000"  rule-thickness="2.0pt" rule-style="solid" leader-length="100%"/></fo:block>
            </fo:table-cell>
        </fo:table-row>Can someone please let me know why the fo:leader syntax is erroring on the Hosted Site.
    Thanks,
    Mary

  • Clob in Report layout - cannot wrap to next line

    Dear all,
    I am facing a problem that the field display on the report in Clob datatype cannot wrap to next line. In the data model, it is separately selected the clob text. In the report layout, for the field I have already set the Vertical Elasticity to "Variable" and Horizontal Elasticity to "Fixed". However, the report output always show the clob text in one line. Even I reduce the width of that field, the result is the clob text will display in one line up to the end of right margin but didn't wrap to next line.
    I tried to store the clob text to the placeholder or create a user parameter to store the clob text and then display on the report. However, the result is still the same. I really don't know why....
    Can anyone help? Thanks for advance.
    Thank you.
    Regards.

    Many thanks! Worked perfectly!
    I've just upgraded to DW CS3 from a much older version, and I'm rebuilding an old site that's completely frames-based, so using CSS to accomplish what I used to do in frames (and for older browsers) is a bit of a challenge. I appreciate the helpful tip!
    Thanks again!

  • Sales quote layout rows doubled in crystal report layout

    Dear All,
    Sales quote layout rows doubled in crystal report layout.
    In sales quote layout the rows are doubled. Even in the standard layout. If the quote contains only two rows. Then it is doubled as 4 rows in the crystal report layout.
    It is happening in the particular database. Other database are working fine. I request you people to help me to overcome this issue.
    Regards,
