Can't install any of the software from HPs support website

Hello,
Everytime I try to install any of the software from the software and drivers page specific to my model, I can get an error message that reads:
"Your system does not meet the operating system requirements."
I didn't get this message before when installing any of the software/drivers. It is only since having to reset my OS.
I am running Windows 8.1 64-bit.

24" iMac won't install any 'large' Apple software updates from the internet

I am having a serious issue with my iMac and neither the people on the phone at Apple Care or the 'Geniuses' at the Genius Bar have been able to assist. So, maybe someone here can:
First - here is the background information about what happened and what I've done:
A few weeks ago when the new iTunes 10 came out I went to upgrade. The upgrade failed it said. So, I thought perhaps Apple was having issues with the new software or something. So, I thought - Ok, I'll give it a day or two.
I come back and try again from Apple.com - no luck. Hmmmm - well, I just happened to see my 'software update' icon pop up and there was iTunes. I thought "Great! Now I'm sure it'll install!" No luck.
So, I think - well, perhaps I've done something to corrupt my profile. So, I create a new profile and try again. No dice.
So now I'm really confused and figure - ok, let me try a partition and I'll try again. Still nothing.
Finally I figure - ok, something is wrong here. So, since nothing is working I backup my music and important files and wipe out the hard drive and start over. No luck. And, in fact - since I had gone back to 10.5.4 or whatever - software updates needed to install to get me back to 10.5.5. Those wouldn't install through software updates OR when downloaded from Apple.com - Smaller downloads like, flash, java, firefox, etc - all download and install without issue.
I decided to engage "Apple Care" and they call me at the time I specified and we begin to do some tests on the hardware and everything came back ok. We tried from Apple.com and software updates again - still won't install the software. Keeps coming back with "Software installation failed" something about the package installer was corrupted during downloading.
The guy at Apple care thinks perhaps its my network corrupting something. This begins to make a little sense and I think, maybe he's right. My wireless router isn't that great so, maybe I'll just go replace it. However, while I'm checking out I begin to think that maybe its NOT my wireless router - because I do have 2 other computers in my house who haven't had issues downloading anything. So, this is unlikely. But, I didn't like the wireless router anyway - so I went ahead with the purchase.
I get it home - set it up and try again. STILL not working. So, I make an Appointment at the "Genius Bar". I take it in - show them the screen shots of the errors and we get started. They try to do the install of either iTunes or the combo update on THEIR network - still won't work. The genius thinks I have a bad HD and takes the computer for 2 days to look at it.
I finally get to go pick it up - excited that I'll have my iMac (which I use for work) back and functioning again. I go pick it up and they decided that it wasn't my hard drive - but likely my RAM. They couldn't prove it was the RAM but figured since I bought the RAM after I bought the iMac that this must be the issue (even though it was up to exact Apple standards and was from Crucial). So, I think - well, while I have a blank slate I'll go ahead and install Snow Leopard. So, I pick up Snow Leopard and get new RAM too and go home to install.
I get the computer home, put the new RAM in, install snow leopard and get ready to work! After snow leopard install is done - it has some new updates it needs to install. And the update FAILS to install again. Oh, and they never replaced the HD.
So, I call Apple Care again - they have no clue. They suggest making an Apple Genius Bar appointment. So, I take it in again. They run diagnostics on it from their 'Triage' external hard drive and everything checks out. He says its probably the hard drive (same conclusion they came to the first time) and said that they would replace it.
I get the computer back - take it home. Everything is up to date. All the software updates were back in place including iTunes 10. However, I still want to test and see if I can download iTunes and/or do updates. So, I uninstall iTunes and download it again. Same problem. STILL won't install any large software downloads. But, again - Smaller downloads like, flash, java, firefox, etc - all download and install without issue. Just no core Apple updates or things like iTunes will download and install on my iMac.
I then took it to a friends house - set it up on his network - same issue.
So to sum up:
I have re-imaged the hard drive several times
I have replaced the ram
I have replaced my networking hardware (even though other machines on the network have no issues)
I have taken it in twice to the Genius Bar and they still haven't fixed it
The Problem followed the machine and exhibited the same issues in store as it did in my home (so we know the problems stays with the machine)
I have tried it on yet a 3rd network and the issue still exists
The people at the Genius Bar told me that If I still have issues then its with my network - even though its been proven it wasn't.
Its only larger downloads like Combo Updates and iTunes that won't install.
Any ideas? Sorry for the long post but its been quite an ordeal.

Yes, I have tried the updates directly from the Apple website and a different issue occurs. When I do that I get various different errors - the most common saying 'Codec overrun'. This has happened both before and after complete software OS reinstalls (Completely wiping the HD clean).
I did a video of my issue on my iPhone. I had to cut it and compress it to get it off my phone without syncing (because I can't sync it since I can't get iTunes installed now). So, its about a minute long if anyone wants to see it:

And yes, we tried to repair permissions a couple times but didn't seem to have any effect on whether it would install these updates. Again, it's NOT all software downloads/installs. It seems to be limited to LARGER pieces of software. Example: Firefox, Flash, Java and Silverlight have all downloaded and installed without error on my iMac. Apple combo updates and iTunes won't install at all.

FREEZE (Beach Ball) in ALL ANY VIDEO PLAYER

Ok, This is very annoying. I fixed this problem before when i clean install SL, then update. But after the last update, (safari update), the problem came back again.
ALL VIDEO PLAYER:
QuickTime 7

VLC Player
with
Perian and Flip4Mac Codecs
FREEZES while playing Videos.
Do any body experience this problem?

How much hard drive space do you have? How much ram do you have?
Make sure you are using the latest versions of all those players you listed.
Disconnect all peripherals from your computer. Boot from your install disc & run Repair Disk from the utility menu. To use the Install Mac OS X disc, insert the disc, and restart your computer while holding down the C key as it starts up.
Select your language.
Once on the desktop, select Utility in the menu bar.
Select Disk Utility.
Select the disk or volume in the list of disks and volumes, and then click First Aid.
Click Repair Disk.
Restart your computer when done.

Can't install any media player - pacman can't find all the files

I'm quite new to Linux. At the moment I can't view any videos or listen to music.
I tried installing mplayer using pacman - several files downloaded successfully, I watched the progress bars... but others couldn't be found. When I try again using a different mirror, from the output you can see that pacman requests 36 installation files for mplayer but it can't locate 14 of them.
I've tried three mirrors in the UK and one in Belgium. I get a similar problem trying to install VLC. Pacman has never failed me before, although admittedly last time I used him was to download firefox in December 2009.
This is what I get if I try again to install mplayer now:

I am having the same or similar problem. I am unable to install vlc, ffmpeg, and several of their respective dependencies, with the same error

Checking on the mirrors manually, I see that the package versions are incorrect. For example, http://www.archlinux.org/packages/extra/x86_64/ffmpeg/ has ffmpeg at version 23792-1 but pacman is looking for 23619-1.
Any ideas?
EDIT: this is an install from this morning, from the 2010.05 core disk. Post install, I ran pacman -Syu and then installed some packages without issue.

I saw few video recording software for iphone but it support only jailbreaken iphones.is there any software for non-jailbreaken iphone?

I have an iPhone 3GS which includes video recording, so have no experience of any video recording Apps.
The only thing I know is that apparently they are all limited to 15 frames-per-second recording, due to the slower processor speed of the iPhone 3G.

Problems installing any Adobe CS software

Hello.
I wanted to try out Photoshop, inDesign and Illustrator CS5.
I already had photoshop CS4 installed. However after installing windows 7 64 bit (I had windows vista 32 bit before) I have huge problems installing any adobe product.
I had to install photoshop over night and the next day it wasn't even ready. At the beginning of the installation it says it would take about 15 minutes but after reaching 20% it already says 155 minutes. before having windows 7 64 bit I had no problems installing photoshop CS4 but any adobe product I try to install now (either cs4 or cs5) needs extremely long to install (if it even finishes) I usually cancel because I have o hope it will actually finish since "needed" time is constantly growing during the installation.
My System :
- windows 7 64 bit
- intel core2quad 8300 (4x 2.5 Ghz)
- 7 GB Ram
- some medion motherboard
- not the best drive but still enough. (360 GB)
I'll try to burn the data on a DVD now but it can't be that my drive is that slow.
If anyone has the same problems, or have some advices / solutions, please answer,

I built a new computer so installed clean... but I have read that installing Win7 over anything else (upgrade) does not always work well compared to installing onto a freshly formatted drive

Installing Non-Video Related Software

So back when I was reading the do's and don'ts of video editing on the Tweakers Page, it said not to install software unrelated to video editing, such as office suites. I can understand that installing other software may be a burden to accomplishing more successful video editing... but the problem is that I don't know why.
Is installing unrelated software going to affect the process of video editing because:
Complex programs have the chance of interfering with Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014?
The unrelated program may be reading/writing to an HDD while rendering/exporting, thus slowing down the process?
If 2 is true, would there be much of a difference then when using an SSD instead of an HDD since SSDs work so differently?
The unrelated program takes up more space on the boot drive?
Some other reason?
As you can tell, I don't know WHY installing unrelated software on the boot drive is on the "don't" list of video editing. It makes sense that it would be, just because, but I would like to know the real reason.

I have 1 computer so do not have the option of not installing other software, and I have never had a problem (the other software does NOT include any other video software that could install a codec)
So, for question #2 you simply need to remember that it is YOUR choice what you have running while doing video editing... if you don't want some other software using computer cycles, don't run it while editing

I assume Apple DVD Player does not upscale standard def dvd's

Googling this appears to be a Microsoft error, not an Adobe error, and generally indicates a problem writing one or more files to the install location.

Does this error happen at the beginning of installing each thing or have things been running awhile? At the beginning it would suggest a general problem with the install location like permissions or drive-corrupting or something.
If things have been running a while, perhaps the installer is having a problem with a specific file. Do you have any other Adobe products related to Photoshop installed that could be locking one of the files?

I need help cleaning a mac without installing any kind of software

Hi my girlfriends Mac computer is lagging and cannot be cleaned, Its currently updating but a very slow rate. It is possible that one of her family members may have opened a Virus. Nothing moves or works but i need something that dosent require installing. For example on Windows you can open the run box and type in a simple Clean Manager and it cleans all old junk files. Is there something similar on Macs that could help me.

The first thing to do is diagnose the problem and not try
treating the symptoms.
First, open Activity Monitor and look at how much memory
is installed and how much of it is being used. Also, look
at the amount of PageOuts (or swap used if Mavericks).
Also, in activity monitor, look at the CPU tab and click
the %CPU to sort the list in highest usage down. See
if there is any item using an unusually high amount of CPU.
Next, how much free disk space is there?
In addition, since others have access to the computer, something
may have been installed by them that is slowing things down.
To this end, boot the computer in safe mode (hold down shift key
when booting). This disable all 3rd party drivers and add ons
and also disable startup items. If things speed up in this mode
then will need to do further troubleshooting to find out the culprit.
Note that booting into sake mode will also clear system many
caches so bootime may be a little slower doing this.
