all the versions i tried was not suitable for my imac ,i need an older version to suit. where can i find this ?

I wanted to install windows for Mac and I had vista so I put I the disk and installed followed the steps it then it closed my computer wen I turned it on it went straight to windows and it asked me to install it and put in the windows box code I found out I didn't have it so I wanted to go back to Mac I shut it off and it just goes back to windows and asks me to put the box code how do I get rid of it and go back to Mac because no buttons work at the start and i can't take out the disk !! Help
The two other posts are correct... so I'll just clarify. What's happening right now is your system is trying to boot into Windows in order to finish the installation. What you want to do is make it boot into OS X. As mende1 indicated, with your system off, hold down the Option key and continue to hold it while you turn the system on. You will eventually be presented with an option to select which partition you would like to boot from. Choose OS X. After you get into OS X, again, as mende1 indicated, change the Startup Disk to OS X. What this will do is cause your system to automatically boot into OS X when you restart it instead of you having to use the Option key when booting each time.
Relaunching BootCamp Assistant will allow you to remove your Windows installation and partition. -

That might actually be comforting to someone coming to the Mac from Windows, but as a 27-year Mac user, I hated it. I don't know whether OO has gotten a facelift in the intervening years.
The intermediate step between OO and LO was NeoOffice, which I used for several years. It was OpenOffice with a Mac face, and I liked it well enough. LibreOffice is its further evolution, more compatible with the latest MS Office files. -

You could purchase any commonly available external USB DVD/CD writer, such as the excellent LG brand units sold on Amazon, for about $30 US. I've used an LG writer for years to save wear and tear on my older Superdrive.

I need to install Word for Mac on my MacBook OS X Lion 10.7.4, but there are two problems: 1) Microsoft sells only Office, not the individual programs, and 2) I don't have enough memory to do so (2 GB). RAM is cheap these days and the additional RAM would also improve the performance of your other programs as well. I have used MS Office for Mac as well as other free downloads, i.e., Open Office and Libre Office. I have found that Open Office anf Libre Office perform just as well as MS Office and, because they are a free download also save you money. Another advantage is that they also contain a database, which MS Office doesn't have. They allow you to save files in MS format as well as standard text format. I ave also used Pages and feel it is satisfactory, although a little clunky to use. If you feel MS Office is the only program for you, then buy it and install it. You really should consider adding the additional RAM as it will improve the performance of all your applications.

Photo journals on iPhoto for Mac

Will Photo Journals be added to iPhoto for Mac (and not only an IOS iPhoto feature)?
I used to use a lot the mobileme gallery, and the photo journals could be a great alternative.

I just purchased an iMac. It has the Leopard OS. I am attempting to install Quicken for Mac 2007. The program installs just fine; receive message "Installation Complete". When I attempt to open the program, the program does not open, but rather opens the document files with the message "Choose a Quicken data file to open". There are no Quicken data files on the computer. Does anyone know how to get the Quicken program to open. Never had a problem with Quicken in Windows; I'm already stating to question the wisdom of this move to Mac.

I have been using Quicken on the Mac since the very first release and have not had any problems with it for the most part. Those that I have had are very small and they did solve most of them.
When it asks for a data file I presume it gives you the option to either select one or to cancel? What happens if you just don't select one? Does the program just quit? -

Sorry, no. Different operating systems. You'll need to look in the app store to find an office program. If you already have a mac, then you may want to look for Pages, or I have a PC and use office and like Documents to go.

I have an IMac. The apple store exported my files from my pc to Mac. I installed Quicken for Mac. I cannot find the correct files to import into Qucken. I foound a foed saying Quicken back up but they don not have the correct extention. Also I added an external hard drive and now window comes up to baxk up files.
