In 10g R2 Reports server is no longer a windows service,
As far as I remember, it will be created for you when you run your first report as long as you are connected to a network or have enabled the Microsoft Loopback adapter.

  • "unable to connect to the data access service" installing report server

Trying to do a 2 server SCOM 2012 R2 install on Server 2012 w/SQL 2012.  Management server and operations console on one, and SQL, web console, and reporting server on the other.  When I get to the web console and reporting server install, and
the "Specify Management Server" screen, I input the 1st management server name and it gives me a red X with the message:
"Unable to connect to the Data Access service for this management server. Ensure the Data Access service is running and that the service, the management group, and setup are all the same version."
Here is the setup log error:
"Info: :Could not connect to Management Server: scom-app with exception: Threw Exception.Type: System.ArgumentException, Exception Error Code: 0x80070057, Exception.Message: Version string portion was too short or
    too long."
I don't see the "Data Access" service in services on either server.  I followed all of the setup prereqs in SCOM 2012 unleashed book, and also referenced this article for setup advice:
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2013/01/16/opsmgr-2012-sp1-quickstart-deployment-guide.aspx
Everything seems to be working until I get to this point.
Thank you for any help you can provide,
    Dan

    Hi Tom,
    1. Did the setup complete successfully on the MS and Console server?
    >>>Yes, without issue
    2. You do not see the service "System Center Data Access Service"
    >>>I do indeed see it on the MS and Console server, it is set to Auto and running.  (I also tried rebooting this server and retried, no help)
    3. Is the Windows Firewall enabled?
    >>>It has symantec endpoint protection.  I disabled symantec completely on both servers and retried, no help.
    Thx,
    Dan

  • Error Installing Reporting Server

    Hello,
I am trying to install SCOM 2007 R2 Reporting Server so I can upgrade to SCOM 2012.  I get this error:
Error 26204 Error-2147217900 Conversion failed when converting from a character string to uniqueidentifier
    What is the issue with my install?  I am running SCOM 2007 R2 CU7 on a Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 with SQL Server 2008 R2 SP2.

If its reporting installation that its failing on, you might want to check this:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/944347
    From here:
    http://opsmgr.wordpress.com/2007/05/14/recieve-error-2147217900-when-installing-scom-rms/
It could be you account doesn't have write access to the scom database (you can always try db_owner too)
    And there is this too:

  • Installing Reports Server on Linux

I've downloaded the tarball for Reports 6i for Linux, but I can find absolutely nothing documentation-wise on how to install the bugger. Little help?

Awesome, thats what I thought, so in that case, if I want to install Essbase server on Linux, I have to download the essbase files for linux and select only the essbase server while installing, and if I want to install essbase components on windows, I have to download the same set of files but for Windows OS and select to install only the essbase components that I need. Is that right?
    Thanks,

  • Installing Reporting Server - How to?

    Hi,
I have a couple of questions regarding installing a ZENworks reporting server:
I currently have 2 primary servers (I am using ZCM 11.1a) in my environment with no sattalites.
    1. Where do I get the installation Media?
    2. Where are the installation instruction?
    3. Will this be a primary server in my zone? If so is there a way to prevent data replication on it?
    4. Will this server add additional load on my environment?
    5. Anything else I should know?
    Thanks

#1 - It's a Separate ISO available where you downloaded the 11.1 Media.
    #2 -
    http://www.novell.com/documentation/.../bookinfo.html
#3 - Yes, it must be a primary server
#4 - This should not create any added load beyond the load any report
    queries place on the database.
#5 - It's best to place on the a server other than the 1st server in the
    zone.

  • Install report server

I would install oracle report server to run oracle report (rdf) by a web application and iis as web server.
Does exist a standalone version of oracle server, without to have install the whole application server suite?
    Thanks,
    Ciro

    Hi Ciro,
if you have 10gR2 you can use Developer Suite and test your reports on the web but this is for a non-production environment .. for testing purposes.
To create a reports server you can execute the following command.
    e.g
    %ORACLE_HOME%\bin\rwserver.exe server=rep_test
    Hope it helps

  • Cannot install Reporting Server 11.1a

    Zenworks 10.3 - 11.1a
The documentation states that it will decommission my current reporting server. This does not appear to happen. I get an error message after it finds my current reporting server that says:
ZENworks 11.1.0.12959 Reporting Server has been installed on this device. You must uninstall it before proceeding with the installation. I definitely do not have a 11.1 reporting server.
How can I force this uninstall?

Just to be clear.... you are still running on 10.3 on all your primaries?
What does your ZCM setup look like and which OS'es?

  • SCOM 2012 R2 Report Server component install to SQL 2012 Sp1 error?

    Hi All
Im having issues installing SCOM 2012 R2 Report Server component to a SQL 2012 Sp1 Server (which is a Windows 2012 R2 Standard server).  Im trying to install to the SQL Default server instance, note that the server also has a named instance
which hosts the SCOM databases.  SQL Reporting Services is up and running fine (can access the web urls etc).  Im also using the SCOM install account wich has full SQL and SCOM Server admin rights for the install.  Ive checked that the Firewall
is off locally on the SQL Server, Ive also checked that the existing SCOM components are all in a Healthy state in the SCOM console.
The installed version of SQL Server could not be verified or is not supported. Verify that the computer and the installed version of SQL Server meet the minimum requirements for installation, and that the firewall settings are correct. See the Supported
    Configurations document for further information.
Ive attempted the install on a standalone SQL Server away from the SQL Server hosting the SCOM databases, but encounter the same error.  The full SCOM MSI Installer log details are below, line that appears most relevant is below but unsure why
this would be the case (same account that I used for SQL install etc).  Any help much appreciated! : )
