To make a signature lock up

Hi All,
I am working on a six page form with several codes I ahve written to achieve functional requirements of the client. However there is one requirement which is one the approval signing, the whole field on the form should lock up, except the employee signature field. I have tried codes, but it is not working.
Please can someone out on theis forum help me out.
Thanks
lucp

Hi,
If I understand correctly you want to stop the user from being able to change any of the fields in the form except for the employee signature field.
This could be achieved by setting all the other fields in the form to read only when the signature field ( or a button) is clicked
Hope this helps
Malcolm

    When you send a email or even a text I went the end to say sent from blackberry. So how can I make a signature and do this.
    Please give me Kudos if you feel like I helped you

    For email, your BIS configuration interface includes a field that you can fill in for an auto-sig. For SMS, I don't think the same exists...but others have used an auto-text to insert their desired sig.

  • Signing pdf dokuments with the Microsoft Surface pen. How to make the signature a non-editable part of the file?

    Hi!
    I have purchased a Microsoft Surface PRO 3. One main reason for the purchase is to sign pdf´s with the Surface-pen on the screen, save the file and avoid paper-printing the documents. Problem is however that the signature doesnt become a solid part of the document when saving it. This makes the signatures randomly not visible on some apple-produkcts, some printers etc.
    I use only a free-download-version of the Adobe reader.My question is if a pro-version allow me to save the documents with the electronic signatures as a fixed part of the document - like the rest of the pdf-content?

    Hi vward26,
    You can use Acrobat to make only part of a PDF document editable.
    Kindly refer this FAQ:http://tv.adobe.com/watch/acrobat-x-tips-tricks/how-to-convert-just-part-of-a-pdf-file/

  • Can you make a code lock on a app, so kids can play on it put not reed mails

    Can you make a code lock on a app, so kids can play on it put not reed mails

    You can't lock an app other than the few apps in the Restrictions:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4213
    unless it's a third-party app and it provides a password mechanism. You can, however, lock the iPad into a mode where only a single app chosen by you can run. See:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5509
    If you want your kids to be able to use multiple apps, then you can't lock your Mail app and keep the out of it, and the only way to lock Messages is to turn it off in the Restrictions.
    Regards.

    Mina,
    You can use LiveCycle Designer's Action Builder to easily achieve this.
    Please go through online documentation for the specific version of LiveCycle Designer that you are using.
    It is intuitive and very easy to use Action Builder (You will find this option under Tools Menu item of Designer).

  • Make the signature disappear after the modification of a certified document

    Hallo,
        I would like to certify a document to make the people who receive it aware that it is a unique and original document and to discourage people in modifing it.
    I've tried using certificate function and, when I activate the certification, the document became protected from editing and my digital signature appears on it.
    That's ok but, with one of the many programs used to unlock the protected .pdf documents, I was able to edit the document, my digital signature didn't disappear and the document seem to be original apart from the signature functions which aren't enabled anymore.
    I would like a strong visual change on the document, like the disappearing of the signature or the appearing of a mark, in order to tell people:"If you see/don't see this mark the document could have been modified and you don't have to rely on it", is it possible?
    I'm using Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro.
    Thank you,
    Alberto Bellini

    Hi Chris,
    Just to be clear, I'm only talking about what Acrobat does. To begin with, Acrobat will respect (enforce) the permissions that correspond to a Digital Signature (be it a Certifying or Regular signature). If somehow you do something to the file that is not allowed by the permission set, then the signsature will be rendered invalid.
    The question I have is what application is making the change. When it comes to third party software (i.e. not made by Adobe) as long as it can open the file the user can do whatever they want. You can always open a PDF in a text editor and make a change. Whether or not the third party software processes the signature or obeys the permissions is a separate question.
    Finally, back to your question. If you do make a change using third party software that is outside the scope of the signature, when you reopen the file in Acrobat (and when I say Acrobat I really mean both Acrobat and Reader, but I'm too lazy to type both) it will show up as invalid. If you made changes that are within the scope of the signature, then the signature would be valid with changes. It would be just as if you made an allowable change using Acrobat.
    For example, if adding form data was an allowable change for a Certifying signature, and your ability to write in PDF is strong enough to add the data to the correct object using the third party software, and update the XREF table while keeping the signature byte range intact, when opening the file in Acrobat you would get a valid signature.

  • Signatures locking

    How can I lock a signature after a signature field was signed,I am working with the Acrobat Designer 7.0. It was really easay with acrobat 6 or Javascript by using the "readonly" function. I am badly surprised that a signed and protected signature field in acrobat 6 can be deleted in Acrobat 7.

    You can use the access property to set it to readOnly field.
    SignatureField1.access = "readOnly";

    What type of documents?  Exactly what do you want to do with Photo Booth.  It does both movies and static pictures.  Which do you want to add?

  • A way to make double-checked locking work?

    First a little background.
    I am writing an application that will run in an websphere/db2 environment. This application needs to provide a lot of referential data to the UI to properly populate certain fields (on the order of several dozen reference data requests per page request with about 3-400 concurrent users). To prevent 20 sql statements for a single user clicking a single link, I implemented a dynamic caching scheme with double-checked locking, not realizing the potential danger.
    After reading an article I found on the pitfalls of double-checked locking (http://www.javaworld.com/javaworld/jw-02-2001/jw-0209-toolbox.html), I still would like to prevent synchronizing on every cache request. I think I've found a solution that transfers the weight to the write operations, as those would be much less frequent and can therefore take the bigger load. I would like to see if anyone can find a hole in this.
    public class DCLTest {
      private Resource rec = null;
      boolean initializing = false;
      public Resource getResource() {
        Resource temp = null;
        if (rec == null) {
          synchronized (this) {
            // initializing is now synchronized w/ main memory
            if (initializing)
              wait();
            if (rec == null) {
              // resource has lots of non-trivial datamembers that get initialized in the constructor
              temp = new Resource();
              initializing = true;
          // If initializing is true, we know it's set by this thread,
          // but still check that temp is valid
          if (initializing && (temp != null)) {
            synchronized (this) {
              rec = temp;
              initializing = false;
              notifyAll();
    }The first synchronize block establishes the first set of boundaries. When it completes, the initializing flag is raised and any other thread waiting to enter that block will see the flag and wait. Also, when the block is executed, all of the resource object's internal fields get written to the main memory, but the "global" pointer will still be null. Once we enter the second synchronized block, we update the global pointer and reset the flag. Since both synchronized blocks synchronize on "this", calling notifyAll won't resume execution of the threads that are waiting until they re-acquire the lock on this, or in other terms, until the second synchronized block completes. By that point the initializing flag will be false, the rec field will be not null and rec's data members will be in sync between all threads trying to access it.
    This all depends on the assumption that the optimizer won't combine the two synchronized blocks. If that's the case, the two synchronized blocks assure that the reference to rec is written (and made visible to main memory) after the actual contents of rec are in main memory. Therefore, if a reading thread acquires a non-null value in the check outside the synchronized block, it will acquirea proper value. Otherwise, it'll get a null and will enter the synchronized block and all is well.
    This logic seems too good to be true (which unfortunately means it probably is), but I can't find the hole. The only justification my gut can give this is the fact that the write operation becomes slower than if both read and write were synchronized, which is acceptable in my case.

    a big flaw (but easily solvable) is that there is no
    guarentee that changes made to your "initializing"
    variable
    will ever be seen by other threads. It needs to be
    marked volatile.this is not true. the JLS states that all threads are required to load from main memory on the first use of a variable in its lifetime. This would happen the first time a thread checks rec. When that check occurs, it will load from main memory and eihter get a null and enter the sync block, or get a valid reference and continue.
    17.3 After a thread is created, it must perform an assign or load action
    on a variable before performing a use or store action on that variable.
    A second flaw is that you never set rec to anything
    other then null.
    ( a single thread will enter the first synch block and
    obtain a reference to temp. It will then NOT enter
    the
    second synch block as initializing is false. hence
    your rec variable will be null)why is initializing false? it's set to true within the first block.
    temp = new Resource();
    initializing = true;
    Third.
    rec is null. The first thread enters the first synch
    block and stops before changing the initializing
    valriable. A
    second thread then tries to enter the synch block. It
    cannot get the monitor and therefore yeilds. The first
    thread then continues inside the synch block. It just
    leaves the first synch block before being stopped. The
    second thread then resumes. It obtains the lock on the
    first sych block. initilaizing is false so it skips
    the
    wait() statment. Rec is still null so the second
    thread creates a new one. Now you have two threads
    each has
    a local reference to different Resource's. Which one
    gets used? (actually at the moment niether would
    get used cos of the previous problem)the whole idea of initializing is that it never gets written outside of a synchronized block. if a thread cuts in just as the first thread left the first sync block, initializing is set to true, so it will simply wait. This is to make sure that no one does anything while the thread that's initializing is in between the two sync blocks.
    i think you overlooked where initializing is set to true in the first block

  • When I try to make a signature Im asked for a password

    Hi ,
    This i my problem I have a new computer that Adobe acrobat pro was installed on , I have never made a digital signature since its a new set up. when trying to make a new Digital Id it asking for a password that was never set up. I wanted to find out if there is a way to reset this or a work around to be able to make this digital signature.

    Your message shows you are trying to add a digital id. You do this to prepare for signing.
    When you do this, you see a place for "password". This isn't one you chose before, it's a new one, just for this digital id.
    And below that, it says "confirm password". You type the same password there. This is usual when typing a password "blind" - you can't see what you type, so it's a double check.
    So, you have the message "passwords do not match". That means you didn't type the same thing in both boxes.

  • How to make sure Signature Field is signed

    Hi,
    I have created a User Form in Adobe Designer 7. I have included a signature field in this form. I want to make sure that the user signs the form before they submit it. I have not found a way to be able to check this. I am using JavaScript and I tried to check the signature field to see if it was null. This did not work. The return value for this field is an object. Does anyone know the JavaScript code that will work with Designer, I read the Adobe JavaScript Reference Manual, but that code does not work with Designer.
    Also if anyone knows where I can find some sort of manual of Adobe Designer JavaScript, that would be great. Most of the Adobe Acrobat JavaScript does not work with Designer!

    Designers object model does not have signature information but you can access the signature information via the Acrobat object model (i.e. the standard javascript reference manual - which you already have)
    All you need to do is use the signatureInfo property of the signature field, for example:
    var oSign = event.target.getField("form1[0].P1[0].SignatureField1[0]");
    var signInfo = oSign.signatureInfo();
    app.alert("Name = " + signInfo.name);
    signInfo.name will be null, if the field is not signed.
    NOTE: make sure your hierarchy is correct when you make the call to getField() - it should match the hierarchy palette. In the example above my root is form1, page name is P1 and the field is called SignatureField1
    There is a XFA scripting reference, Have a look in the FAQ folder.
