To many issues incredible 2

I purchased the incredible 2 in may 2011 , since then I am now on my fourth phone. I have had to return each one for so many issues and find it hard to believe when tech support tells me its the first time they hear of a problem. I have spoken with at least 30 different tech support staff over these few months as well as HTC directly and to date NO resolve. Here are some of the issues I have encountered.
3 G always remains at 1G if it does show 3 G and I attempt open even the market it drops back to 1G. There are times when the market takes more than ten minutes to load.
Next is the battery life, after a full charge the battery reduces to 15% in about an hour to an hour an a half.
My settings such as sound, or mobile network arbitrarely alter themselves. The ringtones change, the applications settings change and also the ability to download applications change not allowing the phone to download apps. I have to manually go and change all the settings over and over again.
My phones no longer allow me to use HTC clock widgets, either I get a force close , unupdated weather and none of the alarm clocks, timer, world clock etc..are accessible. HTC even asked that I video tape the widget issues and send it to thier escalation department, which I did. According to HTC they cannot duplicate the problem, but are fully aware of the issue. Verizon on the other hand claims to know nothing.
The HTC s get more widgets always tells me unable to load or unavailable. Clearly this us an issue with HTC product and more than a month has passed and no reseloution in sight.
I received my 4th incredible 2 in the mail today and immedietly called Verizon to say I am not accepting this and I now want another phone by anyone other than HTC.
Clearly people are posting these issues and many more but sadly none if them seem to be being addressed. It is my hope that my next phone coming tomorrow will work. So much for that so called most reliable service. Just a side note as I typed this my keyboard now seems to disappear and or will not allow me to back space.
My hope is those who have all these issues bombarded HTC and their carrier so the products sold are functional and we get what we pay for.

This is a network issue not a device issue, how strong is your network connection? How many bars do your device have?
Next is the battery life, after a full charge the battery reduces to 15% in about an hour to an hour an a half.
All 4G devices has quick battery drain issue because of the power the radio requires to recieve reception.  You could have learned of this from a number of forums because it is widely reported, usually a extended battery resolves this.
My settings such as sound, or mobile network arbitrarely alter themselves. The ringtones change, the applications settings change and also the ability to download applications change not allowing the phone to download apps. I have to manually go and change all the settings over and over again.
If you are using device as Mass Storage and use custom ringers this is a normal situation because the phone can not access the ringer file that is stored on sd card when it is in Mass Storage mode, usually a restart resolves this.   Now as for the network connection I would need more info to understand what you mean.

Weather updating error sounds like a network issue again but as for the Force Close have you tried checking installed apps are not causing this issue because I have seen this regularly..
The HTC s get more widgets always tells me unable to load or unavailable. Clearly this us an issue with HTC product and more than a month has passed and no reseloution in sight.
Another possible network issue..

Sounds like you are having reception issues in my opinion and no matter what device you recieve will resolve this and also you may want to try running device without installing ant 3rd party apps and see what happens because the issies you are having isnt a device issue.

Most of the time with USB headphones, you have to download the driver from the manufacturer before they will work properly.

  • ITunes 9/iPod OS 3.1.1 combo has too many issues/bugs

After upgrading to iTunes 9 and Touch to 3.1.1 I am having too many issues:
    iPOD TOUCH:
    1. Everytime I launch music, it displays "upgrading library" message and takes eons (5 minutes) to show the library
    2. Playlists don't work: most playlists show tracks in random order not matching iTunes, and also with total number of tracks different from iTunes. This had rendered most playlist as useless. Wondering when Apple will fix it.
    iTUNES:
    1. Much hyped arranging of applications through iTunes doesn't work. I took whole lot of time arranging the applications in iTunes virtual desktop, but after syncing I found entire arrangement lost both in iTunes and in Touch. I did it many times, but with the same unwanted result.
    Any help?

That's what i used to tell people. but I up(down)graded to version 9 itunes, and version 3.1.1 for the ipod touch and now i can't restore the ipod because itunes can't connect to the software update server. why do i want to restore the ipod touch? mostly because every extra app added refuses to work! nothing launches. even apple's own remote app can't push through this mess the updates have created.
I'm on a mac. 10.5.8 everything used to work just fine before these updates. What hurts even more is that i actually had to pay for the touch 3.1.1 update as well, and now i've got a non-functioning ipod. cheers apple. How about they release an update to reverse the wonderful job this latest version has performed... Or at least a single company communication as to what is wrong, and how to fix it, rather than a dozen different suggestions in forums and non-existent support documentation!
rant now over. please just fix it apple.

  • Many issues with WRT160N v3 (Windows 7 related?)

    Ok so here's the story.
    Several months ago I purchased a WRT160N v2. I was connecting four devices. 1 XP machine, 1 Vista machine, 1 PS3, and 1 Xbox 360.
The XP machine is using Wireless-N PCI Adapter model no. WMP300N. The Vista machine is using a Wireless-N USB Network Adapter with Dual-Band, model no. WUSB600N
The process was fairly straight forward and I was successful in getting everything set up correctly. It worked great for the most part barring any unexpected wireless crashes.
A few weeks ago I accidentally bricked the router when trying to upgrade the firmware. It was my mistake and I should have been thinking but it happened. I was able to get a replacement from Linksys and I received the WRT160N v3
Sadly this router hasn't provided me with the same easy of installation.
Right now the situation is a little different than before. I am running a Windows 7 machine right now. It's up to date and working great. I haven't noticed any issues with the OS other than some random driver issues here and there.
I first attempted to just plug the router into my modem to see if my Windows 7 machine would automatically see it and connect. To my surprise it actually did. It connected and I was able to get online.
But here's the problem, my speed when connected was horrible. It would range anywhere from 75-1Mbps. For comparison, when on Windows XP I would get a locked 130Mbps. In addition to that, the LAN connection will not work. At all. It see's the connect, it shows it's connected and online. Then when I attempt to get online it fails and knocks me back to local access only.
I then attempted to set up the connection using the included disc for v3. This was problematic due to compatibility issues I assume. It didn't fair any better.
The final thing I did was plug my computer directly to the router without connection to the internet and disconnected from the Wireless and attempted to upgrade the firmware. THIS PROCESS WAS SUCCESSFUL. It did not fail and brick the router. I did it correctly this time. To repeat, this did not brick the router.
Ok, so I guessed it was due to Windows 7? I called Linksys up and they said they were unable to support the unreleased beta OS. I'm fine with that.
Next I decided to see if I could get my Vista machine online. With this I decided to run through the setup process that comes with router. I followed the steps to the T. Doing exactly what they told me to do. When it finished it showed it did have connection to the Internet. When the Linksys Easy Link Advisor started up and attempted to get me on wireless, it failed. It shows it lost connection and was unable to regain connection. Attempting to statically assign myself an IP address fails as well.
Using the LANA port with this router on the Vista machine works perfectly.
Right now I'm falling back to a very very old router. It's a Linksys Network Everywhere NR041 wired router. This router works rock solid with my Vista, Windows 7, PS3, and 360 all plugged in and only has some minor overheating issues (common with this model).
    My questions:
Does the WRT160N v3 have issues with  Windows 7?
Why exactly am I have so many issues with it at all?
Are there issues with my wireless card and Windows 7?
Would the compatibility issues cause the LAN connections to fail between the router and my Windows 7 machine?
Is there a better router solution for me?
I would prefer to not have to revert back to Windows XP as I am enjoying Windows 7.
I would appreciate any help I can get as I'm fairly unhappy with these two products so far.
    Thank you.

There is a compatibilty issue with the Wireless Adapter and Windows 7 as it seems there are no specific Windows 7 Drivers to install the adapter...So basically that could be the reason why Windows 7 keeps loosing the Wireless Connection...
Also remember to reset the router to factory defaults after any firmware upgrade, then setup the router again from scratch.  If you have not done this since your last firmware upgrade, please do this now and see if it corrects your problem.  If you saved a router configuration file, DO NOT use it.
To reset the router press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds...Release the reset button...Unplug the power cable from your router, wait for 30 seconds and re-connect the power cable...Now re-configure your router...
Don't use the CD to re-configure the router, instead do a manual setup...
If your Internet Service Providor is Cable follow this link
If your Internet Service Providor is DSL follow this link
Also adjust the Wireless Settings on your Router -
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...
Leave username blank & in password use admin in lower case...
For Wireless Settings, please do the following : -
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box in order to differentiate your network from your neighbours network...
    - Set the Radio Band to Standard-20MHz and change the Standard channel to 11-2.462GHz...Wireless SSID broadcast should be Enabled and then click on Save Settings...
Please make a note of Wireless Network Name (SSID) as this is the Network Identifier...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select AES...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key. For example , MySecretKey , This will serve as your network key whenever you connect to your wireless network. Do NOT give this key to anyone and remember the key.
NOTE : Passphrase should be more that 8 characters...
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • Solution approach to MANY issues where automatic sleep  does not work

    Hi
I had many issues for a long time where my machine would not go to sleep automatically. This annoyed me quite a bit.
I have read long ago that this might happen if an application writes standard output to the console. Those write "events" you do not notice as user as long as you never open the "Console" application and check...
    my console was empty...
BUT I checked some other logs and I found that basically and frequent log written prevents the machine from automatically going to sleep.
In my case it was related to have "Firewall logging" enabled. The firewall logged every 3-4 minutes that it was listening..
I turned off "Firewall logging" and finally my machine goes to sleep again automatically after the specified time of no activity
    Michael

    Hello Michael:
That is interesting, and thanks for posting. However, I tested the premise on my own systems and the firewall logging did not prevent the Macs from sleeping on schedule. I do admit that I usually put them to sleep when I am finished with whatever I am doing.
I do have a strange anomaly that causes my iMacs to wake on random occasions, but that is not relevant to your issue.

  • Why does the 2520 Nokia Lumia have so many issues? I've had pairing issues, freezing issues, and now the touch screen doesn't work! I'm SO glad i spent $700 on a piece of CRAP! And Verizon will do nothing to help or make me happy. When my 2 years are up G

    GregLallo,
I would be upset if my phone was having multiple issues but would not want to lose you over this experience. Nokia Lumia are typically good phones and it saddens me to see you are having so many issues with the phone.  How often are you having the issues with the device not responding? What activities are occurring on the phone when it stops responding? Have you always had pairing issues? What are you pairing your phone to?

  • Why so many issues with apple products?

Since Apple makes their own hardware and software why are there so many issues?  I recently bought a iMac and a iPhone 4 and have had lots of issues just like many of you on the forums. I understand why windows has comptability problems cause they have to make their operating system work for all different computer manufacturers and configurations. But apple does not so what's the deal?

You will probably find that 90% of errors/problems on Macs are caused by 'user error', like introducing incompatible hacks and add-ons.
Moreover, a forum like this is an 'emergency room'. The millions of users who do not have (or may not realise that they have!) problems don't post here.
If you have any problems we would all like to help you iron them out. Just post a question in the specific forum for your model of Mac or version of OS X.

  • Yoga - many issues

I am going on 3 weeks with this Lenovo Yoga.  I have to say that I want to love this device but way too many issues have cropped up.  The Hard drive partitons (which I fixed).  The trackpad issues with office which I have attempted to fix by some online suggestions and trying the latest driver update.  All had issues, went back to the orignal shipping driver...at least it only has issues with office at least for me.  Then the screen flickering is driving me nuts.  I have disabled power saving in the intel power saving settings and it helped, but I still see some mild flickering on desktop vs. tile mode here and there.  Then I have had an issue with it installing windows updates which I am currently in the process of fixing.  I feel like I am spending more time trying to iron out problems than I am enjoying this device.  Sorry if I sound like I am on a rant, but I am just wondering if I am the only one.  Do I have a lemon ?  I think I am just down to the screen flickering which as done it numerous times while typing this.  It is like a battery saving / dimming issue.  Doesn't matter if I am on battery or plugged in for this screen dimming issue.

I've had mine 3 days and the only issues I'm facing (mostly) are related to figuring out(and learning to stop hating) Windows 8, and tweaking it to my liking.
I'm still trying to figure out what all the bloatware is. Motion Control looks like it might be useful, but couldn't get it to work with Kindle Reader. Transitions appears to not have a way to add additional programs to it. So they look like Beta apps at best.
I did manage on day 1 to delete or change something that completely disabled my physical keyboard, requiring a factory reset.
The virtual keyboard is junk (I'm gonna start a thread on that).
But I bought this for it's hi-res screen to aid my aging eyes. And to be both a laptop and tablet while I wander Europe for the next 3 months. I think it's going to do quite well in that regard.  I played a few minutes of a nature film last night, and the video was stunning.

  • Many issues after leopard install

iMovie was working fine until I installed Leopard. Since then, I have experienced many issues. First, the sounds of some audio files would not work unless I extracted the audio. For many clips, the audio would not function unless I started playing several seconds before the clip—starting mid-clip was impossible. Clipping audio files seemed to work, but the rest of the audio file still existed. For example, if I used a short part of a ten minute song at the end of a movie, there would be 10 minutes of black silence as a result. Also, several video effects had issues, brightness in contrast in particular. Often, it would kill the sound of an audio clip entirely. Other times, it would make the colors turn bizarre shades. On top of all this, I even had audio from a clip I deleted show up mysteriously in another unrelated clip. The phantom audio could only be deleted if I extracted the audio.
I am running 6.0.3. I saw that there is a 6.0.4, but it is only available for iLife '08 customers. Please help! Has anyone else experienced these issues?

I just completed a project in IM 6 this evening, mainly because I needed to use GeeThree transitions. It took me twice as long to get the project done simply the IM kept crashing when I tried to apply transitions. It would work okay when I applied two or three transitions, but then it would crash. I did all the usual repair stuff, but it never got better.
I'm beginning to wonder if Apple will even continue to support IM 6? I've been using it as part of my business, but now I think it's time to really learn FCE. IM '08 just doesn't cut for business related projects.
IM 6 was working really well for me until the Leopard update. I really wish Apple would bring IM 6 back and keep improving on it.

  • MSI X48C Platinum a motherboard with many issues

    MSI X48C Platinum Ver 3.0 BIOS 7.2
I bought this motherboard for 15 days and I found many serious problems. I think than this motherboard is completely manufactured defective.
I had to return it to RMA of MSI, on the advice of technical service of MSI.
Three issues detected in this days of testing this motherboard:
    - Half speed issue in CPU Clock, FSB and Memory. All these buses are working at half speed with FSB 1333 processors. This bug is random and not detected by the BIOS.
    - Memory problems. I have tried with 6 different new modules of Kingston Memory compatible with this motherboard (included in the list of compatible memories). Many of these modules were problems in memtest86 and showed blue screen in Windows Vista and strange reboots in XP, but the modules were not damaged.
    - SATA RAID + Optical SATA + Optical IDE issue. When I connect an optical SATA RW-DVD and an optical IDE R-DVD and RAID is enabled, the operating system does not boot. The only solution is "Disable IDE" or remove SATA optical.
There are too many errors for a motherboard that has been time for sale and that has left three BIOS. Is an expensive moltherboard with a high-performance chipset.
I do not understand as MSI has put up for sale this product without simple tests. I lost a lot of my time and money.
What X48C sent to those who made the reviews of this motherboard?

Do you have a question regarding problems?
If no, please go somewhere else to vent your anger.
As stated, there are NO MSI employees here and this is a forum about problem solving, not for ranting and flaming
If you want help regarding issues, no problem, go ahead and ask questions.
Got a bad feelin towards MSI, though, but we cant help it either.
What do you want us to do  ??? ?
Anyway I hope you'll get a better board and wish you all the best, but dont start about bad service and all that, we dont work for MSI.

  • SL Upgrade not ready for prime time - too many issues for no real value

I am thinking the upgrade to SL was a mistake -
On a macbook pro that was running acceptable. Decided to jump on the SL bandwagon....and I am finding reduced battery charge, a service the battery icon, battery times that jump up and down by 20-30 min in the status bar, system shut downs, loss of range on AE that we use for airtunes and when it connects, itunes cut outs as the device is 10 ft away!. Add in that both Rapidweaver and Quickboks for Mac dont run, many keychain errors, system crashes and al this for ..... for no real benefit!
On bright side I see is that I'm glad it was only $9.95 on the up to date program - $29 would have been a waste of that extra $20!
Hurry up Microsoft, er, Apple and get a fix out quickly!
next time, will wait till after the next bug fix as this seems to happen all the time!

I have to admit some confusion - you have way too much to keep backing up such that Time Machine wouldn't work? That seems the exact reason to use Time Machine - constant, automatic updates!
Did you try holding the option key? Like I said, the SL install/hard drive should have no effect on your ability to boot into Leopard, especially at this stage of the boot process. If you Mac Pro can't see your Leopard install at this stage, that suggest some hardware error - SL wouldn't even have booted at this point! But with Time Machine, the 200 gigs of data wouldn't be a problem - it could be pick what you needed fairly easily and you could narrow the data as needed.
I'm not sure what your issue is with "being testers" for Apple - certainly you knew that going into this OS upgrade, as you stated with Leopard. There are going to be issues, sometimes serious ones, with new OS upgrades - the vast majority of people might have no issues, but it's not impossible that you will. Certainly in my case, none of my day to day programs have crashed - even Photoshop CS opens like normal! Maybe it's because I did an archive and install with Leopard before my SL install, but I'm certainly not experiencing your issues.
If you don't want to Time Machine, then the easiest thing to do would be to erase the current SL install, clone the Leopard install to the other partition, and then try the upgrade holding the "C" key to boot from the DVD. But it looks like you're not really looking for help anymore. Hope all is well, nonetheless!

  • Too many issues with upgrading to OS6 for BB9700 - Going back to OS5

I upgraded to os6 severay days ago. Here are the pros and cons (from a non technical perspective)
    PROS:
    * New look of the calendar and text .... easier on the eyes with different colors
    CONS:
    * Don't know why but after only a few days, I have to reset the BB 4 to 5 times today. It just locked up and I had to pull the battery.
    * THE KILLER - BB developer decided to force the browser to go to my company's network BES, instead of my cellphone carrier's 3G network. Because the company puts so much restraints and limits on accessing the internet from their network, so many websites are locked and off limit.
In the past w OS5. I had 2 icons of browsers, one for the company's browser and one regular browser. I can go to the advanced options to direct the regular browser to go my cellphone carrier 3g network. It worked so well.
Now with OS6, the developers force users to go through their company's BES network. That is crazy. I pay for the Blackberry and the monthly cell phone and internet data plan, and now I cannot use my phone /internet the way I choose .
If the OS6's developers do not listen to users' complaints on this serious issues, then in the near future as my company allows us to access their email and outlook contacts via droid and Iphone, I will be the first to say good bye to Blackberry.
How many users have the same problem as I?

You are confusing RAM with hard drive space - you appear to have the standard amount of RAM (the memory a computer uses to run apps). 4 GB is fine, but considered a minimum - more would be better.
As for the hard drive space (that is the space you have available on your hard drive to read/write): you need 8 GB minimum to install Mountain lion and, as a general rule, you should maintain a minimum of 10 - 15 GB of empty space at all times - more is better there as well. You can find out how much space you have by highlighting your hard drive icon (Macintosh HD icon on your desktop) and control click on it. In the popup window, choose Get Info. Then post the info showing such as Capacity, Used, and Available.
FWIW, Mountain Lion will continue to show in your Purchases because it is available for you to download again should you need it. You obviously have it installed if it shows that you are running 10.8.3 - which, but the way, is not the latest version, so run Software Update: we are up to 10.8.5.

  • Um... Ok.... Mebbe it's just ME!...... too many issues to even breathe!

    Drat, Drat, and DOUBLE DRAT!
Ok, so, yesterday, I went to the T-Mobile store to return the loaner phone (and be refunded the $53.01 i had to pay to leave with it) and the WebConnect stick. I also called T-Mobile to be sure of what I had to return of my OLD 8520.
I did ask a couple of questions of the agent at the store... things like where can I get a car charger... how do I use Opera as my browser.... stuff like that.
I was a happy camper.... but I also didn't expect it to last for forever (forever meaning some length of time beyond 3 months)
I set down to use my computer for what I use my computer for.
I went to a website for research, and I wanted to show someone else what I had found. Suddenly, the pages didn't move like I wanted. I went to another web site, and I was disconnected.
I look at the phone .. the phone that I use a a modem, and have done so since I got my first BlackBerry ... the screen said SOS.
I waited a while and it went back to EDGE.
(I'll try to make this brief)
I called T-Mobile who explained that there were not outages in my area, but there could be a new one that wasn't on her screen yet.
Ok, so, while we're at it, my DTM? Well, everytime I start it, it goes to the Application Loader. How do I make it so it doesn't do that (it never used to do that)
I was sent over to a RIM support person, who, in short, had me to uninstall the DTM from my computer and re-install it. (She annoyed me immensely. I wish the people on the phone would LISTEN, rather than sticking to some script)
Ok... I'm ok now that my DTM is ok.
I wake up early this morning and I'm playing with my phone. I mostly wanted to get my bookmarks in on Opera Mini. (Oh, I loaded the Opera because I went to a website with the Internet Explorer, and it said that I had an outdated Browser)
Well.. I've got RELOAD SOFTWARE 552 AGAIN!
    I've been this route.
I do the Application Loader thing, only this time, it seems to work... until I get this
I do have a password on my device. There was no place to input such information on my device, or on the DTM.
I hit the retry, and some, more than 30 minutes later, I get the same thing. The second time, I choose Cancel.
    This is what I got
So, the Application Loader thinks it's done it (?)
I had to leave the house for an event at 9 am. Now, I'm about an hour from home with a car with a  bad fuel pump, I won't be leaving until late, and I have no phone (prayer, prayer, prayer)
What is it? Is it me? I am seeing a pattern.
Ok... I'm using DTM 5.0.0.8, which I downloaded from the TMobile website on 5/7/10
My device is a BB 8520, which arrived to me on Monday, May 17 (it's White, if that matters)
I have added programs, but ONLY from the BB App World....
I have been using the Trial version of XM Radio, the regular versions of Pandora, Poynt, Drive Safe.ly, Score Mobile, I had a Police Scanner trail (but I didn't use it on Friday. I used that on Thursday). I have Shazam on my phone. I was playing Word Mole. Oh, and I got Opera Mini (not from the App World, though)
All the software I've been using was through reputable sources, and all had OTHERS to use them, with no issues.
Why do I keep getting this 'Reload Software 552'?
Last I heard, this is a computer with telephony on it... so why can I ONLY use it as a phone (but not even that, today)
I'm willing to say *I* am doing something wrong. I have never in my life heard of any one else having all these problems with anything, and most certainly, no one has ever (that I've heard) complained of a BlackBerry.
After more than 16 BB8220 Handsets, and now this is my second BB 8520 within a month......
    What do I do?
(I have no idea when I'll be able to read replies, but please do. I can find some where to power up my notebook)
    Thanks....
I'm so drained... I really need a good cry.

(I wrote to a friend telling them my tale of woe... so why re-invent the wheel?)
I've had more than 16 handsets since March 20, 2009. They were mostly
    BlackBerry 8220's (the Pearl Flip)
I tried the 8120, which is a standard Pearl.... one was stolen from
me.... and one I broke by putting my elbow through the glass. Still,
that is an awful lot of headseats.
On May 5th, the phone, the one I got when I said, 'this is the LAST
time I'm going to try this. This has to work', they decided to send me
a BlackBerry 8220 Red.... Yes, the ONLY difference is the color. Ok..
    Fine.
I had that phone for *maybe* two weeks, when on May 5th, I get this
error message 'Reload Software 552'. I tried that. Problem is, the
phone is not even registering with the computer, so I CAN'T reload the
    software.
After a bunch of techs had me on the phone, after more than 6 hours, I
popped, and told them to send me another phone; a DIFFERENT phone,
since this 8220 doesn't work! I hung up on that person and called back
to Customer Service, and I went off on them, too, and they said they
would send me another phone. (To keep me as a customer, I guess)
That phone arrived to me on May 10. That is an 8520. Hmm.. An Ok
phone. More memory  than my 8220, and it will run MapQuest! I set up
that phone, and pack up my loaner phone to return it to T-Mobile. I
ask them at the store what to do with the 8220. I was told it was mine
to do with as I will.
On Friday, May 14, I get error message Reload Software 552. This time,
the computer WILL read  it, but it will only get so far and stop. It
says that it can't initialize the phone.
Saturday, I go to the store again, get another loaner and because one
of the biggest disadvantages with the loaner is no internet access, i
    get a WebStick.
Some where in here, I start to frequent the BB Support Forums. I see
that a lot of people are having issues with the 8520. I know that I do
not like it nearly as much as I liked my don't-work-for-**bleep** 8220 -
the buttons are much smaller, there is no flip, it's just not as cute
The replacement phone arrives about the 17th of May.
I take the loaner phone back to the store, return the WebStick, and
pack up the old phone to ship it off to BlackBerry.
I get up on Saturday morning and I'm still putting my phone back in
    order.
    Reload Software 552.
Ok... now, something is very wrong. You see, in all those other
phones, I never had the same problem more than once. Reload Software
552 on three DIFFERENT phones... hmm... Maybe it's me. It MUST be me.
I go with no phone all day Saturday. All day Sunday. On Monday, I go
to the T-Mobile store to ask for the loaner. "Sorry, we just got rid
    of our last one".
Deep sigh. Not a big deal. Maybe I'm not meant to have a phone. I
mean, I have TWO BlackBerry phones, and neither works. I have all the
accessories and what-not, and I can't make a call to the police if I
had my fingers on Jimmy Hoffa.
I noticed on the BB Support Forum that two OTHER people reported on
Saturday that they got Reload Software 552, and were not able to
reload the software. We were all looking for back door ways to do the
reload. We all were using Windows Vista, too.
One person suggested putting the BlackBerry CD into the computer and
with it in place, then try the reload.
I decide to go to another T-Mobile store and ask, 'does any one here
know anything about this Reload Software 552'. Well, turns out... no
    one did
    But Jay said he'd try.
It took him about an hour, but he got my 8520 up and running again.
Said he had to trick-out the computer.
Well, if he can do the 8520.... why not just ASK if he can do the
8220. Sure... and this only took him about 10 minutes.
    Lawdy!
I called T-Mobile. They assured me that I can have BOTH phones. I
don't need to turn anything in to them.
I'm a happy camper, because I really do like the 8220 more.
.... but today, I was running around with my cousin, and I pulled
stuff out of my pocket and the phone hit the ground. The screen is
    broken.
Now, I'm running Drive Safe.ly, so it will read my texts and emails to
me. I can still make and receive calls... but I need to get this
repaired. If T-Mobile says they will replace my phone if I pay the
deductible, I'm kewl with that, too.. but dang, I feel so stupid.
Still, until I do get it replaced, I can use the 8520.
So I've got  phone service. And I will be writing another letter to T-
Mobile: I should never have gone through so many phones if the techs
would just take the time to REPAIR the phone!
