To many security approvals need to use my Google maps! (Running KitKat)

Now that my Verizon S3 phone has been updated to KitKat the number of security boilerplate approvals needed to use anything related to maps or GPS is unacceptable.
I can't leave the GPS on as it drains that battery. So here is the problem: I'm driving along and I need to see my maps, before I would just hit the map button and I would see the map in the approximate area, no GPS required. Now when I do the same, I get a box for settings, I click on that and it sends me to a Location page where I need to turn on the GPS, now I need to Agree that I have turned on the GPS, now I get another box to Agree that Google apps are collecting my location info, at this point I need back step out to the map app to see where I'm at.
Most users of the maps app will use it while driving (even if you don't think it's a good idea). I don't think going from 1 step to 5 is making the situation any safer, it's now takes many more seconds of not looking at the road to getting the app working then it had before.
If you have a fix for this, that would be great!

You do not have to partition your drive - Parallels creates a disk image which contains your Windows installation. You do have to exercise anti-virus measures in the Windows partition, although such malware cannot affect the Mac filesystem.

Well, this took me a while to get solved, but it is indeed solved.
I tried USB Overdrive and it could, and perhaps should work, but apparently it will not. When adding a device, it seems that USB Overdrive is not set up to handle any input device that does not register itself as either a Mouse or a Joystick. The VEC USB Footpedal that I'm using is "Device type: Other".
So, I went for Quickeys. And Quickeys can do it all. It did recognize the device, I was able to assign it to the scope of the particular audio playback app I wanted to use (Amazing Slow Downer OS X - which is truly amazing. Any musicians reading this who are looking for a way to learn pieces by ear, this does it better than anything else I've seen yet).
I created a shortcut in Quickeys for the ASD app; added the middle button of the foot pedal as the trigger; set one step, entering 'space bar' as the step (which toggles playback, similar to many audio players).
It all worked.
Quickeys is very confusing and seemingly featured with an endless array of options. Enter at your own risk. Ask me for help. This was the only way to get it done that I could find. I did write to the author of USB Overdrive asking him to please support additional devices as I did find some traction from gamers who like to use a foot pedal in addition to other input devices. There was a Windows-only management utility for the foot pedal that was intended for custom input, assigning the buttons to any keyboard input or mouse click event. It would be nice to have a simple and easy to use utility like this. But, Quickeys did do the job.

The Google Maps widget had "API's" that were hosted on the MobileMe Servers.
You can still use google map however, you will need to get the embed code from google and paste it into a "HTML Snipet" in iWeb
You will want to copy the "<iframe" for the html Snippet

Yes, maps.google.com is a bit flaky. Somebody suggested a workaround before...
Lookup the address/search terms using google then click on the Maps link to filter the search results. That should bring send you to maps.google.com. Pinch-to-zoom doesn't work so you have to use the slider instead.
Also, using a fresh session and clearing your cache first before doing the search helps when things become unresponsive.

Nokia N96 restarts while using Gps, Google Maps an...

Hi guys, I've got this problem with my n96. When I try to use Nokia maps or Google maps, it restarts automatically. Last month I updated the firmware to 30.033. It was working fine before update, I had no problem with nokia and google maps, but after that update to firmware it randomly restarts. Any help would be highly appreciated.

The problem of phones restarting following a firmware update can usually be resolved by resetting the phone.
Always remember to backup your phone before performing resets as your data may be lost.
First try this,

If it doesn't work then try this.
Then try the "3 finger deep reset". With the phone powered off, depress and hold these three keys simultaneously "*" "3" "green phone" and then power on phone using the on/off button whilst keeping all four keys depressed until you hear start-up tone.
This should ONLY be done if the device doesn't power up normally anymore and it wipes everything in the Phone memory that is not part of the ROM.

Need to Use google APIs in View .htm Page

I have the following requirements:
I need to capture the Geo code based on the user click from Google maps and update the same in the CRM.
I need to load the Google maps with multiple Location Marking and Marking Icons will be changing based on some condition.
I had implemented the Mash-ups to Load Google Maps in the WEB UI screen.
I found that Mash-ups will be helpful only to load the web Page Via URL(parameters passing) and it will not return back any info.
So i created a custom view and write the Java Script logic which contain the Google APIs,functions to load the Maps dynamically with
multiple Geocodes Etc., How ever while am loading the view in the CRM am not able to load the maps.
So I create a Page with Flow Logic in the same BSP Component and i provide the same code which i given in View's .htm page,while testing its working fine.
Q1 > Using Mashups in CRM can use the Google APIS and can we raise events on click on the Maps?
Q2> Why Java Scripts contain Google APIS are not loading in the View's .htm page like Pages with flow Logic.
Q3> How can i Load the Page with flow Logic in the View's .htm page with out using Iframe?

I just wanted to post some of my experience on java.nio.channels.FileLock.
If a file is in use by an application, for example if a jar file is launched, the file is obviously locked by the system in a way we can't delete it.
However it is still considered as unlocked by java as an exclusive FileLock could be set.
If an exclusive FileLock has been set on a file no other exclusive FileLock could be set by any other application. (relieved ! the basic lock operation works !)
When a FileLock is set on a jar file it DEFINITELY corrupt the considered jar !!!!!
the message "Invalid or corrupt jarfile" is displayed when I try to execute it using java
and any zip utility can't open it any more.
And it is not a locking problem !
Even after the exit of the application that lock the file, release of the lock, copy of the considered jar, the jarfile is definitely corrupted.
I guess it could/should be the same thing on other file types.
What an awful bug :(

Considering the question "if I then use a FileLock and lock my file, can I still delete it?"
The answer is no you can't delete it:
You can't delete it with the application that locked it
(not even with File.deleteOnExit() method -- still with the above config --)
neither with another application.
Of course you can release the lock and delete it ...

Using XML file in Java script to create Google Map

I work for a non-profit in San Diego as a GIS Specialist. I have had to teach myself about some scripting to create some dynamic maps, but I am still very limited in my skills, so I have had to explore the internet in order to discover various tutorials and examples that have led me on a positive path.
Right now I am working on a Google Mash-Up that will incorporate over 14,000 records, which will appear as separate markers that will have pop-up info bubbles with additional info inside (using html), once the marker is clicked.
Here is the XML script example that is used in the tutorial I am following:

The "Marker" variable instructs Google Maps to label the marker with a particular color. I will be so grateful to the person(s) that helps me get through this wall that I have been hitting for a long time. It's very difficult without having the luxury of peers who know about these types of issues.

Here is the relationship: They both contain geographic coordinates that produce a point on a map. I will use the rest of the information in the second xml file (company name, address, link, etc.) to produce the information for the bubble that will pop up once the marker is clicked.
My problem is that I need to try to keep the second xml file in a relatively similar format, so the rest of my records will still be accepted. If I had a smaller amount of records I could place them directly into the javascript, but because there are so many records, I need to use an xml file that can be retrieved by the java script. I chose to use the second type of xml file because I can easily copy and past the 14,000+ records that are now in excel document.
After the xml issue is corrected I need to rework the javascript that is now emboldened so that it will read the new xml file correctly. I included the first xml file so that the readers will understand what type of xml format is currently being used to produce the markers in the tutorial map.

Can i use WebApps to build a Google map with polygon territories instead of points (pins)?

I built a map with Google Maps Engine Pro - http://www.jmbcompanies.com/Services/Mitigation/map.
It showcases territories using a Google map polygon shape. I wrote custom KML to create it. However, with Google Maps Engine pro you cannot create custom hyperlinks. It will link a URL that you put in the data, but you cannot name it or target the parent window, so therefore it opens a new tab for each click to more details. I really want it to open the WebApp detail page for that item within the same window.
So, is there a way to use the BC integrated Google maps technology and show polygons instead of points on the map? I've used {module_webappsmap,20754,a} to place individual locations on a map, but what about territories or polygon areas?
I'm sure that I can create a WebApp to generate the KML for each placeholder. But how do I turn that into a map?

You can not create a kml file in BC through webapps. Modules do not work in other file types and you do not have server code access to generate a file type of results.
You need to use the google API and do this yourself or you can just use this:

This is a known issue on the Google Code forums to do with the way IOS7 handles memory usage. (https://code.google.com/p/gmaps-api-issues/issues/detail?id=5815). Apple devices running IOS7 are the only devices that seem to be affected. Does anyone know if Apple plans to resolve this in a future software release?

Your only evidence for this "known issue" is a Stackoverflow thread where the issue is claimed to be fixed.
