To NOKIA: E7-00 (RM-626/059F6L7) update to 111.40....

Is anybody at Nokia available to answer these 2 questions?
When will the E7-00 (RM-626/059F6L7) be updated to 111.40.1511?
When will the E7-00 (RM-626/059F6L7) be receive a fix for the SMS bug?
I recall Nokia press releases promissing the E7 would receive the FP2 update. It has been almost six months, my unbranded E7 purchaed at full price from Amazon still has not received the update. It appears the rest of the world has received the update, except for my unbranded phone.
The E7 SMS is still non functional since Anna (50% of msgs remain in outbox). Please do not ask me to check the settings, as this has been done every which way with and without the carrier's help (even though they don't officially support the device).
I've been patiently waiting for the Belle update for almost six months and waiting for the SMS fix since Anna. At this point, i do not consider the phone in a usable condition considering the SMS bug.
When will the update and bug fix be provided?

as it has been six months already, i doubt that you will see the arrival of the Nokia Belle Refresh update, unfortunately. even though it is unbranded, it may be a country variant, which would depend on your regional Nokia Care actually approving and releasing the update to you (e.g. Nokia Australia didn't want to release the Nokia Belle update, but after a few weeks after the announcement changed their minds and did release it.....in this case that was a classic example of Country Variant).
i have a N8 and did not receive the SMS bug fix either, apparently it was not available to all users as it depended on network carrier, and i suppose it was released in those countries where it felt it was affected.

The devices you mentioned are symbian S60V5. These cannot be upgraded to Nokia belle or such. They have hardware limitations.

I see the use guide it say I can update it at the Nokia suite, it say will show at the software update but my is always say no updates available.

Welcome to Nokia forum!
To find out if an update is available for you, just
connect your phone to Nokia Suite and select Tools > Software updates or
open the Software Update application on your phone. For most devices, you will find this application under Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone updates or Menu >Applications > (Tools >) SW Update. If you don't find the software update application from these locations, check the correct location from the user guide.
Update availability is influenced by many factors including existing Nokia device firmware version, country, and operator. It may be due to one of these variables, that there currently is no new firmware update available for your phone. For example if your mobile service provider hasn't approved the latest Nokia device firmware, it isn't available for that specific operator variant you are using but it can be available for a generic country version.
New firmware may become available later, so it's best to setup your device in a way that it automatically informs you when a new software version is available. You can do this in the following way:
Start the software update application on your phone. (Again, for most devices, you will find this application under Menu > Settings > Phone > Phone updates or Menu > Applications > (Tools >) SW Update. If you don't find the software update application from these menu locations, check the correct location from the user guide.)
Select Options > Settings > Auto-Check for updates. With that in place, your phone will automatically check in specified intervals if there's a new software available and prompt you to start the update.

Nokia Pc suite / Ovi Suit / Software Updater.... N...

Hi I have tried all three Nokia Pc suite / Ovi Suit / Software Updater. to update the firmware of my nokia n95 8 gb. but none of them is updating my phone. Right now 20.0.16 is the firmware on my mobile but you can check it out that the latest firmware available for N95 8GB ,,,, 31.0.015 . i tried this on my other laptop as well but showing me the same problem. i cant understand that when i am using the newest versions of Nokia Pc suite / Ovi Suit / Software Updater than why they are not installing the new firmware on my phone and showing me the message that it has already got the latest firmware which is totally wrong. i have attached a pic for the helpers to help and guide me out of this situation. thanx

Hi, farby thanx for the reply, First of all my phone is already unlocked and one my friend is also facing this same problem. as i have mentioned that there is update available on the nokia website. its just he Updater software which is not updating although it is connected to internet. maybe you should look to the picture i have attached to this thread. In the pic it is saying that 20.0.16 is the firmware is present on my mobile But you can check it out that the latest firmware available for N95 8GB ,,,, 31.0.015. and just look at the difference in the firmware versions. Its not like that N95 8gb is a latest phone and would have to wait for the new firmware. There should had been many firmware updates available between 20.0.16 to 31.0.015 versions. i hope so that you will understand which i am trying to explain. thanx bye

nokia dont give dates for releasing firmware you will just have to keep checking
and remember updates depend on region/product code and network,ie network has to approve the update

-choose provider (hotmail/gmail/yahoo...etc)
-enter username & password
-click OK to T&C
-get error message: "cannot enable this service on the device"

I'm having a similar issue. It appears to only impact Hotmail accounts. For me though, this happened without updating the OS. The email client is simply failing to connect to the Hotmail interface. Only two possibilities, either Microsoft changed something on the email gateway or Nokia changed something on their end. Either way, it's not working and has been out of commission for the past week. If this is how corporate friends get along, I'd hate to see what happens in a adversarial relationship.

Nokia suite 3.2.100 software updates "something ha...

I updated mu Nokia Ovi Suite to Nokia Suite 3.2.100 . It installs just fine. I can connect my N8 to my laptop. But when I hit the Software Updates tab i get the message "Something has gone wrong" stating that some files are missing and I should remove the Nokia Suite and do a reïnstall. I've done so three times by now. Even deleted everything "Nokia" off my laptop, even cleaned the register of all Nokia referred items. It reïnstalls fine everytime. But the Software Updates tab keeps failing.
When my N8 is not connected, I do not get the error.
My N8 is running Anna and there ate mo updates available (wifi). My laptop is running Vista Ultimate and is up to date with all Microsoft updates.
My previous Nokia Ovi Suite was running smoothly.
Who can help me?

Here are the error messages in windows event log, I am using windows 7, 64 bit and the older version of ovi suite worked like a charm with my C7.

Nokia C6-00 wont open after update to latest firmw...

actually its not the first time i had been to this process,i had updated the same phone when i bought it,now i start the nokia updater.no connection or disconect problems,and the process was copleted successfully,*(as the updater shows) and after the update copleted,i exit the updater,pulled of the usb cable,and tried to open the phone.the only thing that reacts is the vibration start up but only the vibration.no open screen no nothing.i removed the battery and put it back in and still nothing,i tried to recharge it no response and i need assistance ppl

Switch-off the phone (Remove the battery and re-insert it, if necessary). Now Press and HOLD the GREEN (Call) key, RED (Call end) key and the Camera-capture key SIMULTANEOUSLY. While still pressing the above three keys press the power On key, hold them until phone boots up.

My Nokia Lumia 710 stopped working during updating...

My Nokia Lumia 710 was connected to my Pc by cable and was being updated. As the updating was going on, probably during the 7th or 8th step, it hanged and stopped responding. The updating could not complete. The worst is that the phone can no longer be powered off except when you remove the battery and after replacing the battery, it cannot boot, except to draw a diagram of phone connected to a PC. That was the stage in the updating process when it stopped working.
Please, advice me on what to do becasuse the phone is of no longer use to me. I bought it in December 2012 and it got spoilt in April 2013. I have taken to Nokia Care centre around me. but the price they said they will use to repair it is equivalent to buying a new one. Please help.

I also have a lumia 920 which I also cannot seem to update to Black.
I am able to download the update but when it is preparing to install the update, it always freezes at 77% after more than an hour is says that the update was downloaded but could not be opened. Error code: 80070079
I have tried this more than 10 times already even reseting my phone to no avail.
Please can anybody help out.

Nokia 301 icon issues following latest update

I have got a Nokia 301 which usually works fine.
I`ve just updated the phones software to the latest version. My problem is: -
When I click on the Mail icon, nothing happens. So I can`t see my email account I added.
Is there a way of sorting this out?

I have previously deleted the email account and then added it back in.
The problem this time is when i click on the Mail Icon, it doesn't open up.
I don't really want to do a factory reset. If i have to i will.
I just wandered if there was a way of bypassing the Mail Icon to access my email account, or deleting the icon and reinstalling it.

Nokia Lumia 920 issues after latest update. Fix in...

Since the last update we are having massive problems on our Lumia 920 from ATT. Bad reception, losing Internet connection, etc.
We have over 30 920 deployed in our company. We did tests with and without the new patch and its like day and night.
Sitting in my office, i have 1-2 bars on the phone with updates, showing 4g, but cannot access any website.Plus constantly losing connection.
On the phone without update I have 2-3 bars, showing LTE and constant internet access.
It is horrible. We first thought it was related to the Access Point Software, but it is definitively the firmware.
Please fix asap. Not good advertising for those awesome phones.

This issue has already been covered on several threads on this forum. The update was found to cause issues on AT&T and was pulled part way through it's roll out. A fresh update is being prepared that fixes the issues. For more information contact AT&T or Nokia US.
