To permanently fix the zoom like in other browsers

I want to know why in firefox there isn't the native option to permanently fix the zoom of web pages at the wanted percentage, i.e. 120%, like in IE, now also in Chrome, ecc., like this at closing and reopening of firefox I can find the pages already zoomed at wanted percentage on all sites but, overall, without implementing extensions that may cause delay on running.

You may need to update your Firefox to get these features. It was introduced somewhat recently.

How do I permanently set the zoom level? I am sick of hacing to "ctrl +" on every page!! It is a HUGE waste of time. If I can't do it, then no more FF.

The Firefox [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Page+Zoom Page Zoom] feature does a domain by domain level of saving the users preferred zoom level settings, there is no default Page Zoom level setting in Firefox, as with some other browsers.
Try the Default FullZoom Level extension: <br />

Or the NoSquint extension: <br />

  • How do I permanently set the zoom-function, so I will not have to zoom every time I open a new tab/page?

I have recently installed Firefox on my one month old laptop which has a 17" screen. Every time I open Firefox I have to use the zoom-function (ctr +) four times to be able to read comfortably. Every time when I next open a website, or tab, or window I have to use the zoom-function again. This is kind of getting old, fast.
Is there any way I can set the zoom to a higher/closer setting permanently, so I do not have to use the zoom-function about 50 times everytime I use the internet?
If you could help me that would be lovely!
    Thanks,
    Kikki

You can use an extension to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages.

  • Firefox slowness issues have been getting worse, when is it going to be re-coded? none of the "FIXES" ever work and my other browsers work just fine.

My frustrations with firefox continue to mount. All the supposed fixes are a waste of time. There is obviously a major code problem that needs to be addressed. Your solutions that you post just seem to be the same and never work. Users are not programmers and should not be expected to do your troubleshooting. I have been running a comparison lately using four different browsers to play a popular facebook game (Trainstation). (All browsers at the latest version)
    1. Firefox
    2. Internet Explorer
    3. Google Chrome
    4. Opera
to do the exact same thing in the game firefox was taking 20 to 30 seconds to complete (about half of the time completely freezing for several minutes.) where the next slowest browser (I.E.) was taking 2-3 seconds whilst opera was the fastest at almost instant, chrome almost as fast.
Firefox is also slow to load any page in general regardless of flash content.
Frequently I get "not responding" at the top of the window.
My system is a new Dell Inspiron with Intel Core I5 processor @ 2ghz and 6GB Ram, about 300GB free hard disk space. Windows 8.1
The game played requires the latest flash version which does not work on LINUX. However the linux firefox version is much faster. Perhaps there is a direct link for conflict with windows 8.1
Firefox also seems to have a memory leak, resources get dramatically worse if the browser is open for many hours. (this is not a problem with other browsers in general, except I.E. which exhibits this problem as well to a lesser degree. The freezing issue has also been a problem with Thunderbird lately as well, I do not have another e-mail client installed to compare to.

I have tried that already, I have seen that response in more than one forum in the past and it does not do anything. I also for the test of it, upgraded to the v29 beta version. Still is slow (not just the game i was playing which is on face book but also on the game developers site directly as well (http://portal.pixelfederation.com/trainstation/), using either does not matter as far as performance of the game. All sites and browsing is slower, as is startup loading my home page which is just google.com. I remember when firefox used to be blazing fast compared to others. I have also tried recreating a new profile, didn't help. tried a complete removal (including registry entries and all files, then a new fresh install, didn't help. someone on another forum suggested several tweaks in the about:config area, didn't help. something has changed dramatically in the last four or five versions. • Keyboard-created emoticons not showing in Facebook since upgrading Firefox 9/12/2014. Will this be fixed? They show in other browsers.

I just upgraded to Firefox v32.0.1 yesterday, and I see that keyboard-created emoticons like smileys (colon +right parenthesis), winks, hearts, etc. are not displaying in Facebook on status messages or comments. This isn't just for new posts, but for old posts as well. They were visible before the upgrade, and now they are not. I believe this is a Firefox/Mozilla issue, not a Facebook one, as I just checked Facebook on two other browsers (Google Chrome and Internet Explorer), and the emoticons do display. Is this something you can fix soon? Thank you.

If you hover the display:none; line then you will notice a check box that allows to disable this rule by removing the tick.
I'm not sure why it shows this display:none rule.
It is possible that a script that is supposed to process these lines isn't running (I see several data-xxx attributes that are usually there to be processed by a script).
It is also possible that there is a problem with the cookies or that a different setting is used.

  • Trouble with IE8 placing div in the right spot. Other browsers work fine.

My layout is working in all browsers (Firefox, Safari, Chrome, Opera, IE6 & 7) but not in IE8 or 9beta.
The trouble is with a div containing text not displaying below a "lightbox gallery". In IE8 the text div jumps up and appears behind the gallery.
I've tried using negative pixel definitions in the css (margin-top, margin-bottom) and other simple tricks to no avail. This site is still in development but I do have a few sample pages online. Here's a link to one. http://www.redhousepottery.com/chimerasite/hanks.html
I have a feeling a css hack is all I need to fix this. I don't have enough practice at this yet. Any help is appreciated!

    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE7" />
Add the above to your meta code to emulate 7.0 and probably fix the problem, at least until you can find a fix in IE8.

  • How can I permanently fix the lagging scrollbar in Safari 5.1.2?

I found a temporary fix on this very board, which suggested:
    >1) Go to Home>Library>Preferences and delete com.apple.safari.rss.plist and com.apple.safari.plist
    >2) Go to Home>Library>Caches and delete the folder labeled com.apple.safari.
    >3) Restart your computer.
This is only a temporary fix. It soon goes back to lagging. How is there not a fix yet for this?

I believe the current version of Safari for Snow Leopard is 5.1.4.
