To print true colors on hp6525

have a new hp 6525. trying to print watercolors scanned to my computer and print from cropped images. printer will not print true to color, or shade. despite attempting to accomodate for the difference. I am making my changes to document on word. but pictures despite kind of paper used, despite fresh ink cartridges, are muddy, shades are not true.
I am now trying to just copy the pix direct to paper but the options to print are so limited. it wont accept 5x7 sheets bc only has a tray for 4x6. when I tellit to print to size on 5x7 sheet it only wants to use upper 4x 6 tray although program says it will print on 5x7 sheets. when it does print, it needs a full sheet to print 5x7 and only prints in middle so waste of paper.
I am so frustrated with this printer and the waste of my time and resources to accomplish what I think it should do.
my old 3150c printed better images from the word documents that I created than this.

Hi there @daflo54 , Welcome back to the forums
I read your post about the issues you're running into with your Photosmart 6525, and wanted to write you with my suggestions.
I would recommend trying a firmware update on the printer to get started: Getting the Latest Firmware and Product Updates
Also try the steps in this guide for troubleshooting "print quality" issues as the colors are not printing out true: Fixing Print Quality Problems for the HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 6520 e-All-in-One and HP Photosmart 6...
If the colors then print out correctly, ensure you're selecting the correct paper type, size, and quality before you print your print job in the program you are printing from. If you are doing this and the settings are all correct, try Uninstalling the Printer Software completely, restart your computer, and then download and run the full feature driver installation here: HP Photosmart 6525 e-All-in-One Printer
If the steps above do not resolve your issue, give us a call directly and we can take a better look into the problems for you

  • Problem with printing true colors

Had PSE7 and colors printed true and beautiful. Upgraded to PSE10 and all of a sudden colors printed muddy and dull with purplish overcast. Took printer in for service but problem persisted. Upgraded to PSE11 and once again colors were printing true and beautiful for over a year. Printed a card about 5 days ago using PSE11 - beautiful. Printed a card yesterday using PSE11 and colors muddy and dull with purplish overtones. Installed  PSE13 and colors printing dull, muddy with purplish overcast..  I feel it is a problem somewhere in settings of PSE, but can't figure out where.  I don't think it is a problem with printer. Both printer and PSE set to Adobe RGB. Color control set to optimize for printer. Using PC with Windows 7, 64 bit. Printer is Epson stylus photo 1400.  Thanks for any help, Merrie

  • Photosmart 8250 not printing in true colors

I replaced the Magenta ink cartridge on March 26, 2011.  Ever since I have been getting shades of magenta for my printing.  When I print an email with graphics on it the header information will print in black but the graphics will not print in the true colors.  I uninstalled the software and went to the HP web site to install the most update software.  But to no avail.  I also did a reset but that did not help.  Any suggestions on a solution will be appreciated.

  • When I print to Canon 100 Pro using Photoshop elements 12 for Mac, do not get true color as when I print straight from photo

When I print using Macbook and Adobe Elements 12 on Canon 100Pro, do not get true color.  When I download a photo and print from the download, I get true color.  Where do I start to fix issue?  It appears to be a Photoshow issue rather than Macbook or Canon 100 Pro.

  • CS applications printing inconsistent color

My problem is that the same file prints differently in Photoshop, Illustrator, InD and Acrobat. I've synchronized the color settings in Bridge. Nevertheless they produce different color when I print. Illustrator & InD are pale, and Acrobat is too dark. Photoshop alone produces true color.
I'm currently testing with an Illustrator vector graphic. When I save it as an Illustrator PDF and print from Acrobat, colors are too dark. When I save a PSD copy of the image and then place it in the Illustrator file, next to the vector version, they both print with matching pale colors. When I print the same PSD from Photoshop, colors are bright and accurate. So the color difference is related to the application (and printer), not the file.
Let me emphasize that all apps use the same synchronized color settings. I've turned the printer's color management off, and color handling is always by the CS app. The "printer profile" menu is set to the correct paper type. Rendering intent, perceptual. Still each program produces different color.
Any ideas? Thanks for your suggestions.

PS. This is with a silver iMac, OSX 10.5.3, CS3, and an Epson R1900 with the newest driver.
PPS. Yes, I have calibrated my monitor, but this isn't a screen/print comparison. Photoshop prints colors true to my monitor and to what the color value actually is.

In addition to the above, I've also noticed that printing from Illustrator CS3 results in lower resolution line art, as if the screen res image is printing, rather than Illustrator outputting at the resolution of the printer. The same Illustrator file, opened in Photoshop, will print at whatever resolution it is rastered to on import.
The second problem is that the Epson driver doesn't appear to pay attention to the settings, coating the page with gloss optimizer and using photo black ink even when paper has explicitly been set to plain paper with gloss optimizer turned off.
On my Epson 4000 and 9880, I've used the Colorburst RIP. Does anyone know of a similar software RIP for the R1900?
Also Epson Utility appears to not work at all if the R1900 is either on a shared computer, or plugged into the USB Port of an AiPort base station or Time Capsule? Are there plans to add this functionality? It's a drag to not be able to see the ink level remaining from any computer other than the one the printer is connected to, or not from any computer if the printer is connected to the TimeCapsule basestation.

  • 7960 stopped printing in color

Replaced cartridges, ran test, calibrated printer all seems to be working fine but when I try to print in color, prints black only. I have tried everything... any suggestions. Thank you, Sara

    Hi
You did not mention if when you ran the test and calibrated the printer that the colour part of the print was OK.
If it was not then maybe take a look at the colour cartridges and just confirm that the tape has been completely removed from the head of the cartridge. Over the years I have done this several times.

  • Document printing wrong colors

These are the steps I followed:1.  drew some pictures on regular paper with colored pencils.2.  scanned the document into the printer.3.  opened the document with Photo Viewer4.  the colors on the screen  looked true to my drawing5.  selected Print from the Menu6.  the Print Preview colors looked true to my drawing7.  the colors on the printed page were NOT true to my drawing:    - the pink colors were true, but the orange printed as dark pink    - the blue colors were true, but the green printed as blue    - the yellow printed as white8. I also opened with Paint and had the same results. I have not changed any settings on the printer.  My old HP printed this drawing fine. This is for my business so I need the colors to be true.

Thank you for your reply. My issue is not one with comparing the color on the monitor with the printed document....I could care less what it looks like on the monitor, so I don't think calibrating my monitor will help the printed document look any better. And, regardless, it looks fine on the monitor. My issue is that the printed document is not the same color as the original document which I scanned in.If I use a colored pencil to draw a picture in orange on a piece of paper, then scan the picture that I drew in orange, I want it to print as orange, not pink. The colors are incorrect no matter what software I use to open the document & print it:  opening with Windows Photo Viewer, opening with Paint, opening with Picasa, etc. I do not understand your comment " I would like you to photocopy the original picture on the Envy 5530".How do I photocopy a document? (I searched the user guide for that term and did not find it.)  How is that different from scanning the document? Why would the printed document look different by photocopying vs. scanning? I am a quality analyst for a software company so I know a little about diagnosing a problem.  One other step I took was to print a picture that I had drawn  and scanned in with my OLD printer/scanner, and it also printed incorrectly. So I think it is some settings in the printer that are causing it. My OLD printer did not have the Color Management feature and it printed correctly.  I do not understand the write-up on the Color Management feature; never-the-less, I have not change anything from the default settings that it was delivered with.  So if the problem is the Color Management feature, then I need to know how to set it for the colors to look exactly like the colors on the document thatI scanned in.  I took a picture of both with my phone and tried to insert to this message so you could see the difference, but the files are too large.

  • How do I only allow certain users to print in color?

Product Name: HP Color LaserJet Professional CP5225dn Printer (CE712A)
Operating System Installed: Windows 7 Enterprise (64bit)
I work at a K-12 school and purchased the HP Color LaserJet Professional CP5225dn Printer (CE712A) for use in our computer lab. I would like to know if it is possible to have it so that only certain users can print in color (possibly put a password on it). I know the cost for color is higher, and therefore, would like it so that students have to approve through teacher if they want to print in color.
We are running it on our Print Server (networked) not through USB.
    Thank you for the help.

    Hi,
That's a very good question actually. In my corporate networks, we are talking about hundreds of laser printers and the ONLY thing we can do: only allow people access to a set of mono laser printers, not all printers. For example, the following printer is using B&W as default but can't stop users to print in colors if they could access to the resourse:

  • HP Laserjet 2550L Won't Print In Color

I recently upgraded to Leopard, and now my HP Laserjet 2550L will not print in color. I've tried printing for several different apps, but they always come out in b & w. It does however print in color when printing a test page from the printer itself, so it must be a driver issue.
Currently I'm running with the "HP color Laserjet 2550 series" driver available via PPDPicker. I've also tried several other drivers listed there to see if by chance one of them would work, but to no avail. I downloaded and tried installing HP Laserjet v5.5.2.051 from HP's website, but I can't get it to install. Actually this driver doesn't even show up in PPDPicker, because for some reason it saves as a text file, which seems weird since the dmg file is about 17mb.
Anyway, this has been driving me nuts all night, so if anyone has a solution or suggestion, I'm all ears.
    Thanks.

I see you are having a print quality issue, no color on page, with your M251nw Laserjet.  You changed the toner cartridges and the printer is still not printing in color.  Have you tried taking all the color toner cartridges out of the printer and reseating them to make sure they are secure in their positions?
As well, I would advise taking a look at the document linked below.  It will walk you through the process for troubleshooting a print quality issue with this printer.

I am not sure I understand ''it still will not print. ''
If you cannot see any content on pages you printed or in print preview, the cause might be margins which are set too high.
#In order to check the margins, we need to go to ''File'' > ''Page Setup''.
#Once this is done, switch to the ''Margins & Header/Footer'' tab.
#Check what's set there under ''Margins''.
The following are the default values for ''Margins'':
    '''Right''': 12.7
    '''Top''': 12.7
    '''Left''': 12.7
    '''Bottom''': 12.7
Check these values accordingly and change them if necessary.

  • How can I get my network printer to print in color?

I have a Dell 3110cn color printer on my network. Since I did the Maverick update the printer will no longer print in color only b&w. It's using a generic printer driver. I had no problems before the update. It's a great workhorse printer. How can I get this connected properly?

Bruce777 solved this for me, thank you Bruce! My printer now works perfectly on my new wifi network!
Bruce's  instructions, for anyone else having the same issue:
    - delete any previously set up printers
    - scrub old hp software and update software to get the hp 2.8 drivers
    - remove the usb cable from the printer if you have one connected
    - reset the printer network to hpsetup (hold down the power button and press network button 2x and then cancel 3x, release power button.)
    - print out the wireless network test report (hold down the network button and press the update button 2x). verify the network name / ssid is hsetup
    - got to sys prefs > network and change the mac wireless network to hpsetup
    - go to the sys pref > print scan
    - add the HP 8000 printer
    - click on the options and supplies button and click on the Show Printer Webpage
    - click on the networking tab > wireless in the left pane > start network wizard and change the network from hpsetup to your network
    - finish (this page may freeze up.  close the browser)
    - go back to the sys prefs and change the wireless network back to your networt
    - go to the printer and print out the wireless network test report (press network button and update button 2x).  Check that the SSID is your network
    - go to sys prefs > print scan > select your printer > options & supplies > show printer webpage > network info (check ssid and compare to wireless network test report)
    - try printing something to your printer.  It might take a little time the first print.
