To Revel or not to Revel?

I do not have any Apple or mobility products either although I was very happy with Photoshop.com using it on a Class Reunion site by publishing/sharing the Flash application directly on the website.  With Revel in Windows there seems very little options for customization.  I can only sort photos by newest & oldest.  I cannot even drag and drop to re-sequence photos and no album source codes.  Some Windows users like me seem to be really left out in the cold.  Why can't Adobe continue with and utilize the very good Photoshop.com software, or sell the site to some other third party?

I realize that the browser version of Revel is lagging behind the Mac and Iphone/Ipad version and that the PC users are frustrated.I also realize that Revel does not do everything that you may have done previously in Photoshop.com.  I can just hope that as we add features and enhancments moving forward, that we are able to make the product what you wish it to be and that you will enjoy using it.  There have been many suggestions  on ways to sort and share photos in Revel. Product management is reviewing all those requests as as they create the roadmap of new features to come.
Stay tuned!

  • The icon for adobe revel is not there in Photoshop 12

When I open photoshop 12 and go to mobile albums the yellow icon for syncing with adobe revel is not there.  Also, if the try the drop-down for opening Adobe Revel it is shaded and I cannot open it that way.  Can anyone tell me how to solve this problem?

You posted in the Photoshop forum by mistake. I've moved your post to the Elements forum where you are more likely to get answers about your Elements software.

  • Revel favorite not showing stars/rating in elements organizer in PSE12 ?

Is this metadata field (adobe revel favorite) not available in PSE12 after syncing?

    UPDATE:
A handful of features from previous versions are not available in Photoshop Elements 12 due to new product support for 64-bit systems (Mac only). They include:
    -Magic Extractor tool
    -Texture Fill
    -Frame from video
-Interactive layout mode in Photomerge Panorama
    -Photoshop Showcase
Presumably Windows users have to wait another year for PSE13 to provide 64-bit support? In the meantime PSE12 will install as a 32-bit app in Program Files (x86) on 64-bit Windows.
PSE12 does have Adobe Camera Raw 8 - it ships with ACR 8.0 - so after installation, click the Help menu in expert mode and choose updates. Install ACR 8.2 and you are good to go.

Whats the software's name to create 3d image(look at the sides when move the mouse over to the left or right)?
When i go to NASAs web sight home page they have this page where u can see each room of the space-ship like 3d. Like u can look at the sides when u move the mouse over to the lefty or the right. And when u click a door... u go to a new page and u can look around when u move the mouse. when the mouse is at the left side, the camera moves to the left and vise versa. I hope u understand what i am trying to saying. I just wanted to ask what software can be used to accomplish this? Thx! (best answer will be given 10 points)

I just got my adapter in the mail, and I am going to have it installed tomorrow. I have a Pioneer 8MP deck and pioneer has a special adapter that you plug into the back of it that has the red and white holes on the other end. Pioneer also sells an adapter that has the stereo holes and a port for a cd changer. It costs about $20 to $30. So I'm guessing Alpine sells one, or some other company has a product that can help you. I'd say sell your cd changer and just use your micro as a cd changer. That's why I got this adapter instead of a cd changer.

  • Adobe Revel plugin not available from lightroom 5

I am unable to publish to Adobe Revel anymore. The plugin disappeared on the adobe revel website and the functionality ceased in Lightroom 5+. This happened without warning.  This is very annoying to say the least. I just recently bought the full service of Adobe Revel but really have no use for it if the integration between lightroom and revel is gone. Please let me know if there is any intention to provide a new plugin. If not, I see no purpose to keep my revel subscription and would like a refund.
Having read some other threads from frustrated users, maybe I say that this has been extremely poorly handled by Adobe. Very disappointed.

  • I want my photo files back on my hard drive, not on Revel

I uploaded about 5,000 photos to Revel but neglected to keep the originals on my hard drive. I want my photos back on my hard drive. How do I download the photos back into Adobe PSE 13 Organizer in the same date folders they were in before they all got transferred to Revel? Once I have my photos back, I want to delete the photos on Revel and then I'll selectively upload Mobil Albums from the Organizer. How do I keep Revel from wanting to upload photos? I am signed out, but everytime I sign in through PSE 13, Revel starts to upload photos and I want that stopped too. Clearly I have some settings which are causing this. Help and understanding would be very much appreciated.

    Hi seashel,
Welcome to the Apple Support Community!
It sounds like the iTunes icon may have been removed from your dock on your computer. You can find your applications and move them to the dock from the Launchpad. Please use the attached article for more information.
Mac Basics: The Dock holds your favorite apps, documents, and more
    Adding and removing Dock items
If you want to add an application to the Dock, click the Launchpad icon in the Dock. Then, drag an app icon from the Launchpad to the Dock. The icons in the Dock move aside to make room for the new item. If you want to add a file or folder to the Dock, just drag its icon from any Finder window (or the desktop) and drop it on the Dock.
    Cheers,
    Joe

  • I have paid for Adobe Revel Premium but the settings in REVEL do not show this.

I am looking for away to contact Adobe but am going around in circles on the web site.
    1. How can I force the REVEL program to refresh the subscription?
    2. How can I contact Adobe to organise this for me?

Just joined and have no idea where to post but have seen the above message.  I have logged in to my account this morning and all my images have gone.  it tells me I can now add images and I have thirty days left of my FREE version.  what is going on! I have a paid up subscription and I resent having to do this to find out whats happened.
Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I am a little upset.  Any guidance you can give me would be very appreciated as regards sorting out the problem and getting to the right place on the forum community.

  • Iphoto and Revel: Deleting photos from Revel on iPad.

If I delete photos in Revel will the original photos in iPhoto be deleted???

Thanks for your reply Pattie. I eventually figured this one out. However, my other question is regarding how I accidentally deleted a photo and then Revel wouldn't upload it again. I even tried renaming the photo and dragging it to my desktop. Revel said that it was a duplicate file and could not be uploaded. What doesn't make sense to me is that I deleted the photo from my library, not just an album, so where was Revel seeing the duplicate photo? I don't get it - have you come across this before?
My question was how do I upload the photo again?
Luckily, after having downloaded the Revel application to my laptop, the photo WOULD finally upload after dragging the original photo into the Revel app. However - just to let you know - it would NOT upload the photo, and continued to give me the "duplicate file" error, every time I tried to upload it to Revel in my browser (on Safari). Like I said, It would ONLY upload to Revel AFTER I downloaded the app to my laptop and used that. Drove me insane because it didn't make sense to me!!
    But now you know.

  • E-mailing Revel albums to non-Revel account recipients

The FAQ and Pattie F's answer to another user's question about sharing albums state that to share an album with a non-Revel account holder, all that is required is to send the album link to the user and the user will then be able to click on the link and see the album.  What actually happens is that the user is asked to sign in through a linked account - Revel, Facebook, or Google.  The user cannot apparently simply click on the album link and view the photos.  If this in fact is required, the FAQ is inaccurate and misleading and the sharing function is much more restrictive than photshop.com where any e-mail recipient could view albums without having to sign in through any linked account.  Please clarify.  Thanks.

I've tested it a few times, and it appears to work as advertised.  I wonder if the lengthy URL string got corrupted somehow in your case; with this new scheme of Adobe (copying lengthly strings to e-mails), wouldn't be a hard thing to do.  The Revel URL is in the first part of the lengthy string, and so I can see user getting diverted to the base URL -- where of course one does have to sign in.
As I posted in a reply earlier this year...
On a slide note, I tried the method of sharing an album on PC as described in the Adobe FAQ, and it worked pretty well. Two minor things I'd add: (1) You have to first click the URL field before the copy, and (2) the URL includes two non-functional characters at the end (#!) that can be deleted from the e-mail.
Just be sure you don't accidently change anything else in the string.

  • Why is it not possible to update Adobe Revel on the iPad and iPhone?

I try to update Adobe Revel on the iPad and iPhone but iit seems not to be possible!
Now I can't use Adobe Revel anymore!

As a reminder, you can access photos on adoberevel.com on your iOS device or any other device or computer, and from our mac, win8, and android apps. We apologize for this inconvenience.

  • Pictures not shown in albums (as per my folders) in Revel after 'access all media' ticked - sort it out Adobe!

    Hello,
This is really frustrating after subscribing to upload all my photos to revel.
After ticking 'access all catalog media' I have the following two problems:
    1. Pictures are shown individually in Revel, and not in their respective albums as per 'my folders' in organizer. Unless I create another new folder in mobile albums (another 50-plus!) - but why would I do that and create a lot of work?
    2. Not all pictures have imported, especially the most recent pictures haven't uploaded.
I have updated to 12.1 Elements - I am using PC Windows 7, and Adobe Revel app on Android.
This is annoying please help Adobe!
    Rich

    Hi Rich,

Please let me know if you still have queries.

  • Revel not updated for months - why?

Not even in-line with iOS 8 which is poor. Photos from Apple will kill off Revel otherwise.
I fear that Revel is not being supported by Adobe and hence need to look seriously at Photos.

The video has now been removed.
I don't understand why Adobe cannot just let us (un)valued users know the truth.
Also, I'd like to know their end-game. Some users may have just started a premium subsciption, others half way through.
I want to know the future for Revel so I can can look at options, including an Adobe replacement.

  • Photos not uploaded to Revel from PSE12

So far I had no problems uploading Photos to Revel. I have a free account and the Revel Status says that I can still upload 49 photos.
    My Data:
My PSE12 is on WIN7. I uploaded my complete PSE12 catalogue.
    Problem:
Last week I added 30 photos. They still do not appear in Revel, though they are marked in PSE as Revel. When right clicking on those photos "Remove from Revel" (actually the text was in German and I am translating for thei discussion) is greyed out.
Over the last weeks I found duplicate photos in my catalog and currently I am deleting these duplicates from the catalog. My mobile device shows the according decrease in the number of photos in my Revel library.
The Revel-Agent status still shows about 88 to 107 pending updates to the Revel library. The number is higher when I am actively deleting photos, but it never (over the last week) goes below about 90 pending updates, though I restarted the computer daily.
Is there a lock in the library? How can I get around this problem?

    Viashali,
thanks for looking into this. I was already at PSE 12.1.

How can we start a connect session, find a date/time?

  • IOS photo edits not preserved when I upload to Revel

I imported my SD card into my iPad.  Since I was not connected to the Internet, I did not immediately upload my pictures to Revel.  I edited them (crop, exposure, etc.) using the built in iOS tools.  They looked great.  However, when I imported them into Revel all my edits were gone.
Can't Revel preserve the iOS edits?
I am using the latest iOS release and the Revel 2.0.

You are correct that the app works this way. This  is part of the design decision for Revel to always preserve your original photo, despite edits and changes that applied on top of the original.
If you wish to work around this and import the edit, then in the iOS Photos app, view the photo you want to import into Revel.  Long press the image until ‘Copy’ is displayed, and select that.  Switch over to Revel, and tap ‘Add.’  At the bottom of the grid of images, you’ll see “Clipboard” and the edited version of the image.  Import this, and you will have iOS-edited image in Revel. After importing this way, Revel will not be able to revert this image to its original form.
