To run a ping job

hi,
i found a script that pings equipment in a network and tells the status, since we have many machines that spans through many networks and names so it is almost impossible to identify them by ip address, so can anybody help me to modify this little piece
of code that can tell me the name of the equipment rather than the ip address, with the liberty to assign me the names for them. THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Before you can script the task you must find a command that can work out a computer's name when given an IP address. Perhaps nbtstat.exe will do the job for you.
