To see a part of the screen on a tv (Using GB)

Im working on a video on garage band, i was wondering if there is a way of making the video be displayed in a tv or other monitor while i work on the audio and music of it, instead of looking the video in the garage band window.
I have the DVI adapter to conect the computer to a tv, but im not shure how to do what i am asking.
thanks a lot for any information!

I don't have a solution for you, but just wanted to let you know I used to have the exact same problem. I resolved it (for the most part....about 90% of the time, anyway) by adjusting the screensaver and power settings to never let the computer go to sleep.

  • My cursor flits away to another part of the screen while I am using it.

When moving the cursor around the screen with the mouse, often the cursor will just flit away to another part of the screen and I have to move the mouse around in a circle to find it an drag it back to where I was using it. Any ideas what is causing this?

I believe this has been attributed to some shift in the state of your wifi connection. It usually happens for me when something is being downloaded, or a download finishes. Sometimes the wifi "fan" in the menu bar is changing from 3 to 4 bars, or 4 to 3. Often I don't know what it is changing, but the cursor just jumps.
I searched for this problem (months ago) and someone on the forum said it was the wifi doing it. Turn off the wifi and connect by ethernet and see if it continues. With the layout of my office, I'm not able to try that, so I just put up with it. Seems it doesn't do it as often anymore, but it does continue.
    Hope this is helpful. Joel.

    Try the following:
    - A reset. Nothing is lost
Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
If you still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order. If you iPod is defective, within warranty and not abused, Apple will exchange it at no cost.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.
See "Basic Troubleshooting: Make a new profile":
There may be extensions and plugins installed by default in a new profile, so check that in "Tools > Add-ons > Extensions & Plugins" in case there are still problems.
If that new profile works then you can transfer some files from the old profile to that new profile, but be careful not to copy corrupted files.

  • Is there another way to close apps other than deleting them from the multitask bar.....I have a small crack in the bottom of my screen and that part of the screen does not recognize the touch.  :(

Is there another way to close apps other than deleting them from the multitask bar.....I have a small crack in the bottom of my screen and that part of the screen does not recognize the touch.

There's generally no reason to be closing them that way at all. The apps you see in the recents bar are just that, apps that you used recently. Most of them are doing absolutely nothing. The only apps that are really doing anything in the background are ones that play music and ones that are using location services. Just leave them be.
    Best of luck.

  • Part of the screen is white

This happened all of a sudden. Before I came home, my iPod Touch 4g was working fine. Its when I got home, the screen turned white. Its running on IOS 6.1.3 . Well, the bottom half of the screen. I have no idea what or how it happened.I tried using the hard reset but it didnt work. It still works the screen is still responsive, I can use app watch videos and listen to music. I just need to know how to fix it so the bottom part of the screen is not white and not make it a hassel. I want to know how this happened so me and others know what to do.

  • How can I quit my iPhoto screen that as crashed and locked on. The locked screen has no iPhoto file list on the left and the part of the screen that should have uploaded photos is blank except for the rotating download icon in the centre of screen. Help?I

My SD card reader has caused my iPhoto screen to be locked with no list of files on the lefthand side and a blank main photo area apart from the rotating download icon operating in the centre of the photo part of the screen.
I have tried to quit iphoto but when I restart it the same locked screen appears.
I believe I caused this problem when I removed my SD device without first ejecting it when the blank screen appeared without downloading my new photos.
Can anyone help a 66 year old computer illiterate fool ?.
    Regards

Use Force Quit (under the Apple menu at the top) to close iPhoto.  Then try opening it again.  If it locks up again force quit and try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists.
If the problem does not persist try the following: make a temporary, backup copy (select the library and type Command+D) and  apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
    Fix #1
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
Since only one option can be run at a time start with Option #1, followed by #3 and then #4 as needed.
    Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.
If the problem persists in the test library do the following:  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

  • So randomly my ipod crashed and when i turned the ipod on again it was all white and blurred. Part of the screen is up to speed but the other half is slow. Already tried turning it completely off and restoring it on the computer

So randomly my ipod crashed and when i turned the ipod on again it was all white and blurred. Part of the screen is up to speed but the other half is slow. Already tried turning it completely off and restoring it on the computer

First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • Just repaired cracked iPhone 4 screen and now part of the screen isn't working.

A few days ago, I cracked my iPhone 4's screen pretty badly. I was having absolutely no trouble with the screen after I cracked it, aside from the crack, of course. I just got the screen repaired yesterday and now the bottom left part of the screen sometimes doesn't work. When I'm using the keypad, the following characters are affected:
    RDFCX (and sometimes E) 4 ; , } ~
Also, sometimes, when I press that part of the screen, it's as if the phone doesn't recognize my touch. This is affecting scrolling, the ability to move the cursor, and makes it hard for me to unlock my phone because sometimes the bar along the bottom won't slide. However, when I select apps using that portion of the screen on the home screen, it works just fine.
This started yesterday, about 2 hours after I got my screen fixed, then went away on its own a few hours later, and came back this morning.
Does anyone know what this problem is/ what I should do about it? I'm definitely going to go back into the store that fixed my phone and see if they can correct it.
**I did not get my phone fixed at the Apple store, I went to a store called BuyNCell which specializes in repairs of Apple and Blackberry products. I got my screen repaired as well as changed the casing on my phone to white.
Hopefully someone can help explain to me what's going on. Thank you!!
If it really matters, here's what my phone looked like before it was repaired. Yikes!

This may sound crazy, but download any free app.  This often "shocks" the other apps into working.

  • Dead/inaccessible parts on the screen after updating to mountain lion

I have updated my iMac (2007: 2.4 GHz, 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM) to Mountain Lion and have experiencened major issues when having several apps/windows open at the same time. This causes ”dead” parts on the screen that become inaccessible. When clicking somewhere on i.e. Safari or iTunes the window deselects, as if clicking on the desktop. In order to be able to type something in the iTunes quick search I then have to drag the whole window down to a part of the screen that isn’t dead. This means a lot of dragging up and down to be able to use my computer.
I have the same Problem on my MBP and done a lot of research but no one seems to have a similar problem.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    David

If you boot up in safe mode (hold down the shift key while booting until you see the Apple Logo) do you still have the problem?

OK, it now sort of works. A couple of problems here:
After updating IOS, Safari iCloud was "automatically" switched off
Switching it on had no effect
resetting my iPad automatically switched off safari iCloud again
after switching it back on, it said "turning off safari data"
switched it off and on again, now it said : "turning on safari data" and the sync worked
    On IOS 7 no problems
The bookmarks not being displayed was because after pressing the book icon, it defaulted to showing the history and I had to press "Back" to get to the other options

  • My ipad gets a black bar over part of the screen then freezes up, please help

Just today my 16gb ipad 2 ,bought in December 2011, started to get a black bar over part of the screen.  Sometimes 3/4 of the screen sometimes 1/4 then it freezes up and will not do anything.  If I try to reboot it I get a faint backlit only.  Any help would be appreciated!

On the iPad tap Settings > iCloud
Toggle Documents & Data off then back on then restart your iPad.
Hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button down until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPhone. To turn iPhone back on, press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
On the iMac open System Preferences > iCloud
Deselect the box next to Documents & Data then reselect it then restart your iMac.
