To select previous or next clip

i can select a clip that i want using the mouse in final cut pro 7. but after a certain time, this action becomes more difficult. for example, when i want to select the clip  in previous or next of the cursor, which keyboard shortcut i should use? in short, can any clip select without using the mouse?

With the timeline active:
Go to next clip - type the ' key (apostrophe) then then type the x key to select it.
Go to previous clip- type the ; key (semicolon) then type the x key to select it.
Using the ' and the ; key should let you step around the timeline as you wish.

  • Keyboard shortcut for previous or next clip?

pg up & dn won't snap to next clip in timeline

    Hi tupnrip,
Which version of Premiere Pro are you using? These days, the Up/Down Arrow key works in place of Page Up/Down. Please try that.
    Thanks,

  • Select next clip?

Something probably really basic, but is there a keyboard shortcut to enable selection of the next clip in the timeline?  I can use pageup or pagedown to go to the start of each clip, but I actually want to be able to select it (instead of having to manually click it with my mouse).
    Is this possible?
    Thanks

    Adam,
I agree that it would be a nice addition.
Though references to a Feature Request in the past, shows that we are not alone, we will never know how many others have made the request.
Adobe prioritizes the requests, and will factor in the number of requests for a feature. Some will reach the "top of the To Do list," are easy to implement, and will then be incorporated. Some might reach the top, but take some major coding changes, so might find themselves in another To Do list, and depending on the coding task, may, or may never see the light of day.
Feature Requests are very good things, and Adobe takes them seriously, so I would definitely file one.
    Good luck,

  • HT201272 Why all my previous downloaded apps (free or paid) suddenly not showing up on the iTunes store "purchased" section.  Every time I select "purchased", the next screen shows "no purchased app available for downloaded"?? Please help!!

Why all my previous downloaded apps (free or paid) suddenly not showing up on the iTunes store "purchased" section.  Every time I select "purchased", the next screen shows "no purchased app available for downloaded"?? It is the same on my iphone4 or ipad 2!!  Please help!!

Dear Metal Wheels and King Penguin.
I have to actually same problem today 23.10.2012. For an example I have only changed billing methods and have bought hundreds of apps but I remember clearly that I bought for an example ,,Wikipanion Plus'' and ,,OPlayer'' which is now HD OPlayer and I did not see them in purchased items, neither ,,not on ipad/iphone'' nour ,,not on my computer'' and I check in both my computer. I confirm hereby that I took the chance to re-buy these two Apps again through the same account but I got the message ,,As you have bought the previous version on this account you will get this update for free'' so I clicked yes and I got them both. This doesnt only proof that I have purchased them before and purchased items in iTunes Store has some lacks to fix but also it proofs that I also bought them through that specific account as I had to confirm the buying process. In my opnion this is not a thing which Apple should be relaxed with as its very important that powerusers and regular consumers can trust and rely on doing business and to shop via iTunes. I have a lot of expensive Apple Hardware and for me this is a stepping stone and a serious test on the circle of trust. If this cant be fixed I cannot recommend others to trust the store.

  • Selecting and Dragging multiple clips - CS6 Sniper mode

With the introduction of ability to select Edit Points, now it's inconvenient to drag multiple selected clips or add clips to selection because in some cases - depending on timeline zoom state and/or clip duration. The edit points are altered instead of the clips, that behaviour drives me nuts. It leads to a necessity to do one of the following actions before selecting and/or dragging multiple clips with comfort:
sniper mode - put the cursor over a place in the selection where the cursor will not indicate Edit Point trimming mode.
to avoid loosing selection when using sniper mode - Group the clips after adding every clip to selection and/or after a dragging operation
dynamically change zoom state so that you will not have to use sniper mode
use copy/cut/paste - may involve a necessity to do additional pre-pasting steps
IMHO, this behaviour should be rethinked.
How fast it was in CS5.5 and older versions:
Please, Premiere Pro Programming Team, especially Tim Gogolin, Steve Hoeg, Peter Lee, Gerry Miller, James Mork, Vivek Neelamegam, Axel Schildan, Jerry Scoggins, Sven Skwirblies, Tod Snook, Jesse Zibble, rethink the behaviour of selecting and dragging clips. Start giving links to beta-versions to other editors too, not only to editors like Philip Bloom.
Selecting edit points is sometimes helpful and sometimes distracting.
To get the best of two worlds (CS6 edit points vs. CS5.5 and older) - a switch could be added to Keyboard Shortcuts list, like the "hidden" Add Clip Marker shortcut.
Let's name it "Application > Sequence > Select Edit Points".
When Shift- or Shift+Alt- key is pressed and some Clip is selected, clicking on an edit point of another clip should add a clip to selection in the same way as previous versions of Premiere Pro did:
To drag clips in legacy sniper-free mode only a switch can help. Let's name it "Application > Sequence > Select Edit Points when Multiple Clips are Selected".
To add comfort to the editing process - selecting/dragging multiple clips - additional switches cannot be avoided. Additionally you may add an option to the Preferences > Trim:
Allow Selection tool to choose Roll and Ripple trims without modifier key
Allow Selection tool to select Edit Points while multiple Clips are selected
    Feature Request/Bug Report Form
      ******BUG******
Concise problem statement:Inconveniences when selecting and dragging multiple clips
    Steps to reproduce bug:
1.Create a Selection of multiple clips with Shift+Click
    2.Try to drag the clips
Results:With the introduction of ability to select Edit Points, in some cases (depends on timeline zoom state and/or clip duration) now it's inconvenient to select and drag multiple selected clips because the edit points are selected instead of the clips
Expected results:Clips should be selected/dragged like in CS5.5 and older

With all due respect Kevin, nobody at Adobe has the right to change a program SO drastically.  I am also a mouse person, and am MUCH faster using the mouse, vs the keyboard.
When people have invested YEARS into a program like Adobe, they get used to things, how things work, the feel of a program.  I really don't see how you all can just change it on a whim.  IF you are going to do this, BOTH methods should still work.  You cannot just stop the way people are used to editing.  You can't just decide to change a program so drastically, that it doesn't feel like a program we have grown to love over many long years.  If Adobe on a whole is changing things, just because a few people in your company voice opinions like I've quoted below, it's not the way to go.  Adobe should be really putting feelers out there, and seeing how people are really using the program.  Things should be getting easier, more powerful, sure that's natural, but you can't just decide to remove things that mouse users do every day. :-(
Upgrading a program, and changing it to this degree, are two different things in my book.  I have not yet upgraded, but it is very scary - the things I'm seeing.  For one, way way too many bugs.  The amount of bugs on so many boards being reported are just beyond comprehension.
And a final note, I for one, am very glad Steven is posting these videos ( I'd like to hear him go through steps though - just watching the video with no audio of what he is doing is not so great, however after watching some of his posts, he's knows what he's doing, and has a good head to think with )
I mostly read posts, but I thought I would voice my opinion, if none of us speak up, nothing will get changed.  I'm really hoping that Adobe implements some change in the next revision .5 or whatever it will be called.  Reading posts like this one are really depressing.  Did you watch Steven's video on a simple task as moving multiple clips around on a timeline ?  Doing this with a mouse just isn't going to work for many, removing simple tasks by way of using a mouse would stop me from upgrading.
Please address this in upcoming updates.
    Dave.

  • Clip inspector in imovie not working properly - when I select a picture - and select clip adjustment it tells me that I need to select one or more clips to view Inspector tools and in a clip the audio adjustment only shows a speaker? help

Clip inspector in imovie not working properly - when I select a picture (in project library) - and select clip adjustment it tells me that I need to select one or more clips to view Inspector tools and when I select a movie clip and then click on audio adjustments the audio adjustment appears as a speaker icon and I don't know how to get to the various audio options? It was working fine one minute and then I seemed to lose the functionality. Also editing a photo in a photo or getting rid of ken burns effect etc does not seem to work. help

Can anyone shed any light on this as I am having the same problem? One minute it works fine, the next you get the error message above.
    Many thanks.

  • How to select parts of a clip in a project in iMovie 10.0.1

In the previous version of iMovie partial clip selection was possible just by dragging a left click over a clip within the movie clip project. Now in iMovie 10.0.1 the same left click dragging over the clip it's just for moving the entire clip to another position.
The only place where I was able to select a portion of any given clip is in the Event window, on the imported clips section.
Is it possible to select portions of a clip that it's already embeded into a movie clip project?
Thanks to all for your answers.

Further to Karsten's advice, position the skimmer (or the playhead) within the clip where you want to start your selection. Now click and hold down the mouse button (or trackpad). As you do this you will firstly see that the whole clip is highlighted with a thin yellow border. While still holding down on the click, you will then see a wider yellow vertical line on the clip, being the start point - drag this to mark your selection. Release the mouse button (or trackpad) once you've reached the end point of your selection.
If you wish to delete the segment that you've highlighted, just press the Delete key on the keyboard. Otherwise perform whatever other actions are available from the Modify menu item.
The key is to not release the mouse button after clicking on the clip. The selection border will appear within a millisecond after clicking and holding.

  • Date Picker with Previous and Next Year Options

    Hi All,
I am implementing a date picker in my application which is tied to an attribute of type PA0001-BEGDA. Date Picker as such works fine but navigating to previous year and Next year options are not available. User has to go month by month to different years if they have to navigate.
Is this the normal behavior of the Date Picker or am I missing something else to get the previous and Next year icons in the Date Picker.
    Thanks,
    Nagarajan.

hmm..I tried using the select options and it did give the same date picker with the previous and Next navigation icons...The only problem with the select options is that its a single field which has the range and can accept multiple values too...
I tried to figure out how the date picker that we use in the custom application and the one in Select Options differ but no luck...Does this ring any bell?
    Thanks,
    Nagarajan.

  • How to move the CTI to the beginning to next clip in Timeline ?

    Hi there,
Is there a shortcut to move the CTI to the beginning of the next clip ?
    I wanted to do this:
My CTI now is the centre of clip1, I want to move the CTI to:
    a) the end of clip1, then
    b) beginning of clip2, then
    c) end of clip2, then
    d) beginning of clip 3, then
    e) end of clip3, then
    f) beginning of clip4, then
    g) end of clip4
    ... etc ...
Is there a shortcut tab for each movement to (a) to (b) to (c) ... etc ?
    Thanks

Also, note that you have to use the track targeting selectors to indicate which tracks should be used in the clip head/tail navigation. If you have multiple tracks targeted, Page Up/Down will navigate to each subsequent edit point across all targeted tracks. If you only want to navigate on one track, select just that one.
A quick way to select or deselct all track targeting selectors is to hold down the Shift key as you click on one of the them; one click will select them all, and a second click will deselect them all. That makes it a little easier than toggling on and off multiple individual selectors.

  • Webhelp: how to add a Previous and Next button

I'm using Robohelp 8 and generating Webhelp on a Windows XP machine. The output displays on IE by default.
My problem is simple: In my Webhelp output, I want a Previous and Next button to appear at the top of each topic. That's all. But I don't see how to set this.
I don't want to create browse sequences; if select topic B, and I've already opened topic D and Z, I should be able to click the Previous button to go from topic D -> topic B, or the Next button to go from topic Z to topic B.
Also, how do I open my Webhelp output so that the TOC is open (i.e., all topics are displayed so you don't have to click books to open. Thanks for any help.
    Len

    Hi!
I found this topic as a search I did for also including Back and Forward buttons into a pop-up help page and have found it very helpful and useful, thanks.
I am currently using RH 10, do you know of anything withine RH 10 that can be used to do this for us?
I was also wondering if you might be able to help with a further query I have regarding these buttons:
Currently, when a user clicks the help button within the web based software, the topic associated to that page will be displayed in a pop-up screen. The Help Menu is not displayed and there is no URL field displayed with a Back and Forward button. If the user clicks a link from this help page to another help page, there is no way of getting them back to the previous page without closing the page and then clicking the help button again.
The requirement is to have Back and Forward buttons added to the help pages that remembers the history of where the user has been rather than moving them up and down the contents. (This part of the requirement I have now fixed with the help of your response to this initial query.) -  The buttons need to be hidden or inactive if there is no history associated, then becoming active or seen if the user has clicked a link. See the following:
Click a help button on a required software page – help detects that there is no history and therefore the Back and Forward buttons are not required and are not displayed/enabled (not active).
IF the user clicks a link on the displayed help, then on the new page of help the Back button will display/enable but not the Forward button as there is no more help been opened from this page (yet).
If the user then clicks the Back button, the user is taken back to the previous page that was displayed. However, it notices that there is no more history beyond this page and the Back button either disappears or disables (becomes inactive).
IF the user clicks another link from the second page, this would be the third page of help displayed. The Back button would be displayed/enabled but the Forward button would not be displayed or set as inactive.
IF the user clicks the Back button from the third page, page 2 would have both Back and Forward buttons active/displayed.
This would continue with each link to new pages, i.e. the history would recognise the first opened page of help and recognise that there is not anything in front of the new page that has been opened.
This logic should also work if the user has opened the full help, selected a topic from the menu and then clicked a link from that opened page. The Back button would be displayed/enabled so that the user would be able to go back to the previous page they were on. Same with the Forward button.
I hope this all makes sense. I wonder if you might be able to point me in the right direction or if this is something that I should talk to our web developer about?
    Many thanks,
    Nicola

  • How to: Horizontal slideshow with parts of previous and next images

I want to make a slideshow with 6 images in it. The centre image is fully visible, the previous and next images, you can only see parts of it. When you click on the button for previous and next the image swipes tot the centre. Is this possible in Muse, and how???
I dont want to show the slideshow in the full background( yellow area in the screenshot) but only in the main container.(see image below)

"Previous" and "Next" buttons are for selecting the next or previous menu in a series of submenus for multiple chapter selection. Look at the options for indexing that creates multiple submenus for the chapters in a timeline.

  • Stay on previous or next row on rollback.

    Hi,
I have an af:table where a new row can be created. On Rollback, current selected row is first. Instead of moving to first row, how I stay on any previous or next row ?
I am programmatically setting current row in bean but since row is lost by rollback, when setting current row NPE is coming.
Jdev 11.1.1.3 , ADF RC, BC.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
You can achieve your desired functionality very easily by following the following steps:
    1. Override the prepareSession method of your Applicaiton Module implementation class and denote to the framework not to clear the cache after a rollback by using getDBTransaction().setClearCacheOnRollback(false)
    2. If you are using a read-only view object, you need to enable the findByKey method by overriding the create method of the view object implementation class and adding the following after the call to super: setManageRowsByKey(true);
    3. Lastly, you need to override the beforeRollback and afterRollback methods of your view object implementation class to get the current row before rollback and set the current row after rollback.
Give it a try. If you find diffulties overriding these two methods then just reply to my message and i would be glad to provide you with sample code.
    Regards

  • Apply Color Correction to next clip

I'm pretty sure I was able to do this about a month ago.  I originally found how to do it in the help index, but I cannot find it now.
I'm looking to apply my color correction to the next clip in the timeline.  Just like in FCP7, you were able to apply it to the two (or one) clips behind or in front of the clip you're using the CC from.
    Thank you.

We don't have the same privelidges in this area that we enjoyed in FCP7.
The best you can do is select the corrected clip and hit Cmd+C to copy it.
Then select the clips you want to apply the same correction to and press Alt+Cmd+V to Paste Effects.
    Note:
If you already have any effects on those clips, they will be overwritten.

  • Safari shortcuts: How to change "Command-1" to select previous tab

    Hey all,
Trying to customize my Safari shortcuts but having trouble changing "select previous/next tab" shortcuts to "Command-1/2" as I would prefer them to be. Even after changing them in the preferences the "Command-1" just opens the first link on my bookmarks bar (and Comman-2 the second respectively).
The question is: How to change the "select previous/next tab" shortcuts to Command-1 and Command-2? I bet many people would prefer this to the standard shortcuts...
    Cheers!

You really don't want to change shortcuts within the system. This could mess things up.
Some Programs allow you to change shortcuts within that program. In the notes for changing short cut they do state that changing short cuts could have conflicts with System shortcuts.
I would advise not to mess with changing any shortcuts.
