To start up playbook

i bought a playbook today, tried to start it up, but stucked on the BB ID password question. Have changed my BB  ID password, still doesn't recognise the new password. I have left only 3 attempt out of 10. can pls anyone help me? thanks

Have you left it hours and hours on the PlayBook charger to see if it will charge enough to boot?
Search on "stacked charging" and give that a try if it looks like you fit the situation described.
If the device is under warranty you might want to just contact RIM right now.

  • Unable to start my playbook

I have my tablet for less than 2 years. For 3 days I am unable to start it. A red light flashes. The battery is full. When I plug the device there is nothing going on. I tried to reset by pressing the volume buttons and boot button, but nothing works.
Please help. If I can't restart, I think to change for a other tablet company.

Connect your PlayBook to the wall outlet charger.
Let it charge a while, and then press the power button ONLY for 20 seconds.
What do you see from on screen or the red LED?

  • I have bricked my PlayBook, is there a tip to revive it ?

    Hi,
I wanted to make a try by installing OS10 Beta on PlayBook 64GB.
I read the topic in CB forum and thought that I could reverse OS to 2.1.
Nevertheless I knowned the risk by doing that !
That said, this is what happened:
Initial condition: PlayBook with up-to-date OS 2.1.0.1917 and a full charged batterry.
1/ I set PlayBook date to Nov. 2012
2/ I've installed Dev Alpha OS 10.0.9.2320 on the PlayBook using a bar loader app (Sachesi 2.0RC)
3/ Ok, PlayBook boot up with OS10 and display home screen, then set the date to Nov. 2014
4/ Battery indicator on LCD is not working with this beta OS (show battery empty whereas I just full charged it before starting)
5/ So after some seconds, the PlayBook automatically shutdown power.
6/ And of course, if I try to restart, it now displays splashscreen indicating OS10 preview as expired.
OK, it was a mistake to set up the date to Nov. 2014...
Not dramatic (I thought) as there is a way to revert back to OS2.1, so I tried the OS 2.1.0.1917 autoloader : Error: This OS version is blocked from device.
So I tried to use CFP command line tool: I used NUKE, WIPE then LOAD the coreos (qcfm.image.com.qnx.coreos.qcfm.os.factory_sfi.desktop.GR2_X_X.1917.683354.signed).
All write procedure completed successfully, then reboot...
But now, the device red led continously blink blink pause... blink blink pause...
    OK, I bricked my PlayBook.
I tried to reload with up-to-date BlackBerry Desktop and BlackBerry Link software without success : Error  [A:0x000000A2]
To replace my bricked PB, I've just purchased a new sealed PlayBook 4G LTE : nice to have mails and access the web when there is no wifi around the place !
Now the question: is there a tip (a real good one) to revive my bricked PlayBook 64GB ?
(I've already tried all tips we can read in threads relating the same problem)
Thanks in advance to people (maybe at BlackBerry I hope) who may give me the good way/tip to revive my (old) PlayBook.
Note: the PIN number of my bricked PlayBook can be found in my profile (by authorized people).

Two tutorials here showing how to disconnect the battery.

  • Boot up time on the Playbook

Why does it take 5 minutes to start my playbook?

Hi lovebb3 and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums!
Boot up times for the BlackBerry® PlayBook™ can vary based on how much free space is available and how many applications are installed.
    Thanks.

  • Rescue data from Dead Playbook

My playbook is dead. Out of warranty. Tried every method posted to get it working.
Watched some videos about taking the playbook apart.
I was unable to tell where data is stored (pictures). Probably on a chip of some kind.
Given that I will not be able to get the playbook working:
Is it possible to take it apart, find the chip (or something) that stores the data and then somehow hook it up to a PC in order to retrieve the data (pictures). I don't care if the playbook is destroyed in the process; just would like to save the important family pictures that were on it.
    Any comments would be appreciated.
I am only interested in getting the pictures, not in saving the playbook.
    Thanks.

I wouldn't begine to tell you what chip or whatever to pull and think you're going to save your pictures.
The only way I know is to get your PlayBook back started, and I do believe it's possible.

  • Pix and Videos gone after update - need help please.

    Hi all,
I upgraded to the new OS2 and loved it... no problems there.  When I tried to connect and pull pictures off via my PC, I got a message Blackberry Desktop software could not connect.  I tried it multiple times after restarting the Playbook but would not connect.  It connected and advised I needed to upgrade my software which I did, but when I started the Playbook after the install it was like it was brandnew out of the box.  Had to go through the tutorial and then I was shocked to find all my pictures and videos were gone.  I don'r care about the videos but had some really important (to me at least) pictures I wanted off of it.
Sooooo.... any chance of recovering those or does the updates just "Blow" everything away?  I will never use my Playbook to take any pictures or video of anything again and guess I learned a painful lesson.
Thanks for ANY input you might be able to provide.

Same thing happened to me. RIM <Inappropriate Content Removed>
    this one up.

  • Where do email attachments go after they are saved?

I tap the pic attached to the email and "save" appears. I tap "save" and enter a filename, and then "ok."
    So...where is the picture now?
I've looked in the pictures folder, and all through file manager, and re-started the playbook and repeated all of these steps, still no pic. It's just a basic jpg.
    What's going on?

When saving. A picture make sure it has .Jpeg as an extension.

  • Rescue data from dead NOMAD jukeb

I have a first generation NOMAD jukebox (6 GB). it's now archi'ved on Creative, as it's no longer a product for them, so I can't get any support on it from Creative. I bought my jukebox about fi've years ago when I moved from the USA to Europe. hence, it had most of my music collection on it, and then I got rid of all the CDs after I ripped them to the jukebox because I was making a transcontinental move. While I had several lovely years with my jukebox, it has decided to stop working now. Problem is, it wasn't backed up because I didn't have the storage on my laptop to back it up with. Now, I can't get my jukebox to turn on AT ALL, with or without the power cord attached, and my laptop doesn't recognize that it's plugged in when I attach it via the USB port, so I haven't been able to transfer any of the data that way either. I've been to a few computer repair stores and they said they don't work on MP3 players. ANY suggestions for recovering the data? I miss my tunes, it comprised the bulk of my old CD collection. I know I'm lame for not buying a secondary external hard dri've to back it up with, but kicking myself won't bring back my tunes. Just need a solution now. ;(

  • Can you run Orchestrator on the same SQL server as SCCM?

500+ systems, and our SCCM data base is sizable. We're running SQL on a virtual server within our SAN. I can tell you just poking around on the server, I do feel its kinda slow and everything feels to kinda chug.... Might be better to just see if I can get approval on the spend for another license... I do know deep down thats the correct way to go.
Unless Orch is so light and hardly uses any resources that it can piggyback SCCM? The hard part is going to be to convince them to use something I am still learning to use. Ha! But I do have a book for it, so thats a step in the right direction.

So our current solution is MDT for deployments, and SCCM for software and updates deployment as well as software center self service.
I'm wanting to bring in Orchestrator to start using playbooks to automate everything. I see that all of Software Center's add-on parts don't cost anything, but all require SQL Server. Well I already have that running for SCCM. So can I share between the two? SCCM is already kind of a big hog, but I have zero to little knowledge of Orchestrator... Would that be just a little more stress on the server or a lot more? Does Orchestrator really need its own server?

  • Adobe Reader for the BlackBerry PlayBook Showstopping Issue: App does not start

    Hello;
I would like to report an issue with the Adobe Reader app for the BlackBerry PlayBook which renders the application fully unusable. This issue occurs everytime. This issue has been tested and verified to occur in two distinct BlackBerry PlayBook devices.
Here is a screenshot stating what version (10.0.3.325) of the Adobe Reader app I have installed:
This, I understand, is the latest version for my platform. Unfortunately, the application does not start. Attempting to run it results in a blank screen after showing the BlackBerry logo. The blank screen can be seen in the following screenshot:
It is also strange that the application does not appear in the Application Permissions list, as seen in the following screenshot:
Is there a fix for this showstopping issue? What steps should I take?

Same issue here.  Playbook support knows about it, and referred to Adobe.  The Adobe forum has this comment.  Looks like our Playbooks are abandoned as a platform.
    "Mar 4, 2012 7:20 PM
As the tablet market continues to evolve, we continue to evaluate how to best support the market and where to focus on our resources. Because of this,  Adobe has decided to end its support of the  RIM QNX Playbook devices in March 2012.  This means the ability to create new applications for submission to the RIM store will no longer be possible in Adobe Viewer Builder as well as the ability to rebuild existing targets for new releases of Digital Publishing Suite. Any existing QNX targets will be removed from the manage view inside Viewer Builder".

  • Playbook never progresses from initial start-up screen

screen locked up with a black display. managed to "restart" but startup did not progress beyond "Blackberry Playbook screen; coloured bubbles kept changing colour & moving round but no progrssion from there. Waited 10+ minutes, no change. Pressed & held power button down which forced power off. turned back on; same as before; not progressing from original start up screen, left on for 3 hours, still no change.

All I can suggest is to try an reset the PlayBook using a PC.
    Turn off the PlayBook.
    Start the BlackBerry Desktop Software
Plug your PlayBook into the PC
When prompted that the software cannot connect to the PlayBook, click the Update button and follow the instructions.
This will wipe your PlayBook, so you will have to restore your files from backup afterwards.

  • Playbook refusing to start up, HELP PLS!

    Hello there,
I own a Blackberry Playbook for a couple of months now. Never had any issues with the device
till yesterday. After dying (battery was nearly 0%) my playbook won't start up anymore.
All the playbook does is flash the red (through the LED) light when i connect it to the wall charger. Connecting it
to my laptop also doesn't help it will simply flash red and green a couple of times.
I bought the Blackberry Rapid Charger this afternoon to resolve the issue and to charge up the battery quiker then it used to. Sadly enough this doesn't seem to help. When connected the device doesn't even react.
Is there anyone who can help me out with this problem and tell me how to prevent this prob in the future?
    Thanks in advance

Have you left it hours and hours on the PlayBook charger to see if it will charge enough to boot?
Search on "stacked charging" and give that a try if it looks like you fit the situation described.
If the device is under warranty you might want to just contact RIM right now.
