(To SUN DTS) Where is tcp.c in solaris 8 open source foundation?

Dear SUN DTS,
I have downloaded the solaris 8 open source foundation. But I cannot find tcp.c file. Ip.c was there as ip.c.export. Is this SUN's purpose not giving out the tcp.c, or this is someone's mistake when packaging. Without it, the source foundation is not complete.

Try the System Administration Guide: Naming and Directory Services (DNS, NIS, and LDAP) ( http://docs.sun.com/doc/806-4077 ). As mentioned in that doc, you'll need to set up Directory Server before you can use it.

Need open source for SUN's JIT...

Hi,
From where we can download the open source for SUNWJIT? Is it not available as part of Standard CDC Personal Profile package download from SUN website? Is it bundled or combined with other packages? I am unable to search in Sun website itself about JIT. Can somebody help me in this regard please?

I do not see where to enter IP addresses in the Open VPN setup. Also, how can I set it up so that I can choose different servers in the same way as I can currently choose them with my VPN app but for PPTP?

I think I have it working on my iPhone 5. But, I do not see how I can control the exit point that I would like for the VPN. Are all the exit points shown in the VPN setting now going to work with Open VPN, or do they remain PPTP? If I am reading correctly, they look like they remain PPTP. If I cannot control the exit point for open VPN, which exit point is the default in the profile you provided me?I note that Open VPN Connect does not work with any of the new 64 bit devices like the iPhone 5S, the iPad Air, and the new iPad MIni. Is there any chance that you guys will come up with an update for your app so that open VPN can be made to work on all iOS devices? That would be nice, particularly if the Open VPN Connect app does not give me a choice of exit points.Thanks,

Just a quick note to tell you that Open VPN has updated their app so that it is compatible with 64 bit ARM devices like the iPhone 5S, the iPad Air, and the iPad Mini Retina.That does not resolve the problem of how to easily choose among the various possibilities for the exit server. We need to find an easy way to choose.

Can you check something for me, big? I'd like to see if iTunes launches with the Bonjour Service disabled.
In your Start menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Perhaps maximise the screen to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the Bonjour Service and select "Properties".
In the General tab, set the Startup type to "Disabled":
... and click OK.
Restart the PC and try launching iTunes. Does it open this time?

See for yourself which version of ACR is needed for that camera’s RAW files

then check your version (Photoshop > About Plug-In > Camera Raw).
Your version of Photoshop does not support that version of ACR.
You could use the free DNG Converter.

Filtering TCP connections on Solaris 9 and 10

I need to develop a driver to filter TCP packets on Solaris 9 and 10. My understanding is that I need to develop a STREAMS module to do this. Searching the forums and reading the docs it does NOT look like a STREAMS module can be inserted between IP and TCP in the stack. Instead it looks like I have to insert my module between the NIC driver and the IP stack. Is that correct? Is there an alternative interface (hook) in the IP stack that would allow me access to TCP packets?
Assuming STREAMS is the way to go, can anyone point me to some example code to get a jump start on this project?

On Solaris 9, do you see any window with a progress bar at Adobe Reader startup saying "Adding font folders to cache"? I assume you're launching Adobe Reader without any document from commandline -- approx how many seconds does it take for Adobe Reader to launch?

I believe there are currently two open source J2EE 1.3 compliant appservers:

Both have beta versions of their J2EE 1.4 offers. If what you are looking for is not actually open source but simply free as in beer, then Sun's appserver is a rather attractive option. It's already J2EE 1.4 certified because it is the J2EE 1.4 reference implementation. You can download it as part of the J2EE SDK from here http://java.sun.com/j2ee/1.4/download-sdk.html

If you have it turned on it is now under the music section on the top where you have Songs, Albums etc. It is on the far right next to Match.
If you cannot see it then Preferences and Tick Radio Option
If it is still npt there the Preferences, Parental and untick Disable Radio

I took a brief look into Flex SDK source and didn't see the Flex Ant tasks. Is this also open source? Where would I find it?
I probably won't change anything, just want to take a look. Although, I'm annoyed that the tasks don't work in a similar fashion as the core ant tasks

Note that the way the tasks are put together ain't exactly pretty--they're just a very thin wrapper on mxmlc / compc / etc. There are some advantages to this approach, but if you're hoping to learn about the compiler options by looking at the task source, it could take some doing.

Where can I find a sophisticated sample app (from open source or oracle)?

I am looking for open-source or Oracle's sample applications that uses most if not all of the features in Oracle Appserver 10.1.3. Most of existing sample applications I found under the 'sample applications' link are for older version of Oracle AS, and not compatible with 10.1.3. Other requires JDeveloper, which I don't plan on using.
Any suggestions?

Henry, thanks for the feedback ... I have asked the product manager responsible for the JCA demo to take a look and update the sample. The best way to file the bug without having access to the db is tell us here. We try our best - though sometimes can't keep up - to monitor the forums, particluarly when we have a new release where lots of issues may need follow up like 10.1.3.
On the how tos that require editing the XML, normally that is because we don't have access to do the configuration in the application server control or the command line tooling. In general I recommend you use ASC console or the command line tooling - admin.client.jar or our ant tasks - for configuration as you are right that it is the most consistent and accurate way to configure the environment. This doc book gives a sense of what that tooling works for:

However, unlike the previous release of OAS where editing the XML files often had unexpected consequences on other instances in the cluster because of a central managed repository concept that the older release had, in 10.1.3 that concept is no longer there so editing the XML files generally works fine both in stand-alone and managed. Again, in general we recommend using the tooling but my guess is if you have found a how to that requires editing the XML files, I suspect the tooling doesn't support it yet.
Out of curiousity, I would be also interested in which one you found that had that - was it the JCA one again?
