Hello Svet! great job with your bios v.2 (based on 3.j bios version), finally taken by courage i've updated it and it works very nice.
I use a i7 840 qm, now finally with ddr3 at 1333mhz.
Need to ask you what's the meaning of "enable extreme edition" option, since i would like to run all 4 cores to a fixed radio ( for instance 3ghz in every core, not only in one) there's a way to do it?
Since you've edited a new version based on 3.L it worth an upgrade for me? new features? major compatibility with ssd? thanks for your kind reply and good work!

Dunno, in latest version "L" has this visible changes:
"Bug Fix: Win7 can't display all memory size."

I updated my bios from 1.0 to 1.9
and the monitor screen went black while updating. Now the LED Diagnostics in the D-Bracket shows two horizontal position orange LEDs at the bottom portion and two yellow green LEDs at the upper position.  what is wrong as i cannot boot as there is totally black screen only. And it seems the BIOS update failed and i have no rescue disk.
Can you please advise me or can something be done? perhaps direct me to where i can get a new BIOS.

    BIOS Recovery Feature
    For AMI BIOS
       1. Rename the desired AMI BIOS file to AMIBOOT.ROM and save it on a floppy disk. e.g. Rename A569MS23.ROM to AMIBOOT.ROM
       2. Insert this floppy disk in the floppy drive. Turn On the system and press and hold Ctrl-Home to force update. It will read the AMIBOOT.ROM file and recover the BIOS from the A drive.
       3. When 4 beeps are heard you may remove the floppy disk and restart the computer.

may you please advice AMI BIOS Ver. or release # to use? as the most appropriate to use to recover the BIOS available download is ver. 1.1 to ver. 1.9.There is no release 1.0. Your advice is most welcome!

  • New BIOS (v2.1) for MSI Neo Plat 7030

I noticed that there are some fairly new BIOS versions available for the MSI Neo Platinum v1.0 (7030).
I'm currently on BIOS version v1.7 and that's been stable.
Has anyone tried version v2.1 ?
I've heard bad things about v1.8 so  I'm not messing with that.

    it is for me
i only updated BIOS when i was trying out some overclocking, and it gave me some better results, than when i was with BIOS 1.4, which i had used for a year previously with no issues
if you don't need to update BIOS, then you don't need to update BIOS; its not like updating a driver

  • GOP/UEFI bios request/recovery for MSI N650Ti 1GD5/OC V5

so, i tried to flash my graphic card with the newest rom i got from techpowerup, and now the screen is off on my monitor. suppose it was driver, and when i try to install the driver from nvidia geforce, the screen blinks and my pc just reset, with still no vga driver installed. its s/n is 602-V809-378SD1411007150
    gpu-z bios info: hxxp://db.tt/ukuJlDkO
i cant post nvflash /v output since it wont save it into a file. it simply created an empty txt file.
so, can i just flash my card with the newest uefi vbios or i should recover the vbios first? which might be a little complicated since i did forget to backup my original vbios. any suggestions?

    Hi,
Never flashed vBIOS myself though everyone is being provided with these instructions by Flobelix so I believe it's correct:
    Quote from: Floblelix
    Use the attached.
Decompress the provided .rar archive with Winrar: http://www.rarlab.com/download.htm
Then flash the included file with Nvflash for dos: http://www.guru3d.com/files_details/nvflash_download.html
To do so rename the included file to .rom and create a dos bootstick (https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=165175.0)
Put nvflash and the vbios file on it and boot from the stick. Then type nvflash -4 -5 -6 gop.rom (if renamed vbios that way) and hit enter. Confirm the questions and let the tool flash.

  • How to find your BIOS without reboot - for MSI support

When sending in a question to the MSI support team, they will not only ask for your computer model but also for your BIOS.
Usually this means a reboot, a reboot in which you may miss the BIOS information...
Here is the easy way to do it without restarting your computer.
1: Right click on Start and then Run.
2: In the text box in the Run window, type msinfo32 and click OK. This will open the System Information program.
3: When System Information first opens, it defaults to the System Summary, a short list with some of the most important information about your computer system listed.
4: On the right side of the program, locate the BIOS Version/Date entry.
5: This field contains the BIOS version that is currently running on your motherboard. This field may also contain additional information such as the BIOS date, BIOS manufacturer, motherboard manufacturer and the motherboard model number.
6: Write down the numbers in your support window and close System Information.
    Thats it.
    Best Regards
    /Lucas

Also, here is the email to MSI support: [email protected]
    Cheers

First I don't think you or anyone should put up with having only 3 channel memory when they paid for 4. If the board or CPU are faulty they should be replaced.
You can start with MemTest86 or MemTest86+. MemTest86 has multi CPU test option that is more real life like, I don't know about MemTest86+, haven't used it for quite long time.
Before using Prime95, make sure you have CPU/Core temperature monitoring software  such as RealTemp, Core Temp, HWiNFO, or CPUID HWMonitor.
Prime95, I assume th 64-bit version, but this create a lot of heat, what cooler do you have?
You can choose to run 6 threads instead of 12, it should be stressfull enough, also you can add the line Code: [Select]
CpuSupportsFMA3=0 to local.txt to disable FMA3 instructions that are more stressful on the CPU but not necessarily on memory.
If it is still too hot (>70c) add Code: [Select]
CpuSupportsAVX=0Do not close the window to stop the test, select exit from the file menu.
Or you can try OCCT which is all-in-one, stress + monitoring in one program. Select Large Data Set to stress memory. It also runs somewhat cooler than Prime95.
trust me i agree i talked to msi support and got no help they just kept telling me they know about the issuse and should have a fix for it soon, But yet i have seen many people say they have the same problem over 5 months now.......  So i just talked to amazon and they said no problem they will give me a refund so now i need to find a good board to work with my i7 5820k 2011-3 pcu

    Hi,
I would like to to request a UEFI BIOS unlock for my laptop, the current version installed is E1763IMS.70J but the laptop came preinstalled with E1763IMS.70C.
The main aim of the unlock is so that I can load custom kernels (to install linux) but I would also appreciate it if you could fully unlock the BIOS.
I have made a donation and the confirmation number is: 1LU475121Y029870K

    Thanks

    Thank you.
Do you need me to upload the bios file? because I believe that the msi website has the 70R archive which made my laptop useless.
you mean you don't want latest version [70S or 70R],
    but 70J exactly?

  • BIOS - once and for all

This BIOS business puzzles me. If you could answer me several questions, I would greatly appreciate it:
    1. I have found these instructions on this site:
    Quote
    BIOS Recovery Feature
    For AMI BIOS
Rename the desired AMI BIOS file to AMIBOOT.ROM and save it on a floppy disk. e.g. Rename A569MS23.ROM to AMIBOOT.ROM
    Insert this floppy disk ....
I have the A6567SMS.100. is this the AMI BIOS file mentioned ?
is this the file i need to rename to AMIBOOT.ROM ?
I downloaded it from MSI's BIOS section
    2. I've gathered that a BIOS mod for the 645 Ultra was made so it would enable 1.65V instead of 1.6V. that is exactly what i need, but i have the 645 Max2-LRU. so i downloaded the 645 Ultra-C manual and saw in the BIOS screenshots they give there that it is the exact BIOS i have - AMIBIOS 3.31a. is this the BIOS version on the 645 Ultra without the "C" as well (for which i understand the BIOS mod was made)?
    3. about that AMIBIOS 3.31 on the 645 ULTRA-C - there was something strange about it. the 645 ultra doesnt have a raid controller on board, so there was no RAID option in the "integrated Peripherals" settings in the BIOS, which means that the BIOS isnt EXACTLY like mine... or does the BIOS identify the onboard Peripherals automatically, meaning that it IS the same BIOS, and on my board, for example, it wouldve had the RAID option, which means i CAN use the aforementioned BIOS hack ?
    4. If not, could someone hack the 645Max2-LRU BIOS for me,pretty please? (sorry for being such a nag:D) or maybe help me find ockk (by giving me the old forums URL) whom ive heard is the author of the infamous 645 BIOS hack 8)
    Thanks a lot!!!

    Venom,
