To Ton: Is JHeadstart part of the iDevelopment accelerators?

You indicated in the Headstart Designer forum that the iDevelopment Accelerators for 6i were now available and that includes Headstart 6i.
Can you advise if this also includes JHeadstart?
Does JHeadstart include a UML modeller? If so, which modeller did you license or did you develop your own?

I found the solution of the problem. It caused by the paste format of the pictures.
ppPasteMetafilePicture has columns limits when convert range to a picture, so use ppPasteEnhancedMetafile instead of ppPasteMetafilePicture will solve this problem.

Hello all,
This is my first post here and I hope someone can help me.
We have a HP Laserjet 4P that we have used for a few years and recently have had a problem of a 1" toner stain that runs down the left side of the printed page(both front and back side). I have replaced the cartride and cleaned everything I know to clean. When I remove the cartridge, there is a little pile of toner on the left side just in front of the horizontal silver bar that is behind the roller. I have cleaned it up several times. Each time I try to print, The toner stain appears on the printed page again and leaves a new pile of toner in the same place.
Does anyone have any experience with this problem? I am not sure if it is a worn part or a maintenance issue.

The old "part of the song can't be played" message

Okay... so I bought an MBP for recording on Pro Tools and Garage Band.
There are two unusual trends/problems that have occured since my purchase on Garage Band that I'm hoping someone can explain and maybe help me out with.
First off, when I first start playing a song in GarageBand, I ALWAYS get the "part of the song can't be played because you too many tracks... etc." message. For some reason, I have to do a couple of minor tasks in GarageBand, then just start my song, hit okay on that message prompt, start again, about 5 times, then I usually don't see it for awhile.
Why does this happen? Is there anything that I can do to help this (besides the Optimizing Performance steps because I read and have done all of those.
Second, I just finished a song, and it had a ton of tracks (probably about 20), and so I locked them all up, and tried to listen to my song... it will not play back. That stinkin' message just keeps coming up. I have iStat Pro on my Dashboard... I hit play on my song, and then go to my iStat and monitor my CPU and RAM, all is good... but the song won't play. I have something like 1.9 GB of RAM left and my CPU is only at 40% or so... but within 20 seconds the song will not play and I get that message.
Why is this happening? What am I doing wrong? Is there another part of my computer that is being used to the max that the song cannot be played back?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The mouse that came with my Mac does not have a right click feature. When I try to highlight and click, it just opens the link I don't want anymore. What I want to do is remove unwanted links from the top bar. For example, I no longer use GoodSearch or myEarthLink, but I can't delete them. There are also some links that never should have found their way up there, and I don't know how they ended up there, and I can't remove them either. I've read through a ton of questions and answers, and I can't find one that addresses the problem. With my Safari browser, all I have to do to remove an unwanted link is to click and drag it to the trash. It doesn't appear to work that way with Firefox, to my chagrin. I hope this better explains my question. Maybe that will give you a better insight into a solution.

You are correct that there are no system variables for this. If you know how long the animation plays, you can place a message caption on the timeline that becomes visible at the point where the animation would cease.
However, I have to also inform you that nesting Captivate SWF animations INSIDE other Captivate SWFs is NOT a good idea. You may run into lots of issues doing this. If the animations are the same dimensions as the shell project, you would be far better advised to add the slides from the animation into the main project and include the content that way. This approach also gives you greater control over the navigation issue you are asking about here since it becomes much easier to detect when that part of the content has finished. You can pick up on an On Slide Enter or On Slide Exit event.

Just go and buy an iTunes gift card at any store in your country.
Then follow all the steps you did, but when it asks you for the credit card number, there shoujld be a GIFT CARD option which will let you load your account witht eh funds form the gift card without providing a credit/debit card #.

Two ways to print a portion of a page: zooming or using the Snapshot Tool.
ZOOMING:
Zoom into the area you want to print.
Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure "Current view" is selected under "More options" (you may need to click "More options" to open it).
If you aren't satisfied with the preview, try clicking "Fit" under the Size button.
SNAPSHOT
Choose Edit > Take A Snapshot.
Drag a rectangle around the area you want to print.
Click the Print icon.
Under "Pages to Print", make sure that "Selected Graphic" is selected under "More options".
To enlarge the snapshot to fit the sheet of paper, choose "Fit" under the Size button.

Explanation:
I star the test on a unit, once all the electrical test is done move that unit to the pressure test without loosing the current test information and continue the test of the unit thewn generate a serial number only if it passes all the test. Then while the previous unit is going thru the pressure test star testing another unit for the elecrical test and so on.

I would like to know it it's possible to change the scroll bar from the right part of the firefox browser, to the left part and, if it's possible, how can it be done. Thank you!

The scroll bar (the one used to scroll up and down any kind of website), that is normally in the right part of the firefox browser, would be of much help to me if it could sometimes be moved to the left part of the browser. Is this possible? How can it be done? Can anybody tell me the exact steps to take in order to do this (if it is possible of course)? This would be helpfull to me, since I think that the firefox scroll bar is overlaping the scroll part of the facebook chat sidebar, since I just can see a few people on this facebook chat sidebar and I can´t scroll along it, as I could a while ago. So my guess is that the firefox scroll bar is covering the other. In order to solve it in a simpler way, I guessed that if the firefox scroll bar could be moved to the left side of the browser, this problem could be solved. So, can anybody help me?

Can I get rid of parts of the JRE for my app?

I am trying to figure out how to easily deploy a stand-alone desktop Swing application. It's more like Microsoft Word than the typical Swing business app that deals with networks and databases. I'd like to make this easily downloadable by regular people, like a 10-year old who has installed an IM client, or a 70-year old who has downloaded the latest version of a browser, i.e., just download an installation file and then click to install in the relatively standard manner in which Windows apps are installed.
What I am definitely trying to avoid is making the user go to Sun's Java distribution website, which is written by computer geeks for computer geeks. If a potential user sees that, they'll get confused, give-up, and I'll have lost a potential user.. Since a Swing application that is developed and tested using an earlier version of the JRE won't necessarily work with a later version, I can't make the assumption that as long as the latest JRE is installed on the user machine, everything is fine. As far as I can tell, I need to download a self-contained version of the JRE that I developed with in order to guarantee that the app will run as expected. I also don't want the user to have to download a 15 Mb 1.5 JRE, or the purported 50 Mb 1.6 JRE just to be able to run my little program. (I'm really starting to see why there are no popular Java desktop apps.)
So my question is - if I compile my application down into machine code from binary code, does anyone know if can I get away with running it with a stripped-down JRE? I'm wondering if I can get rid of parts of the JRE that deal with things like interpreting bytecode, networking or database access, none of which I need to worry about. Sun's legal department might not like this, but is this at all technically feasible? I'm actually happy to hear about any ideas regarding shrinking the size of the distribution. Thanks.

I voted for the enhancement request. It is almost exactly what I am concerned with.
I am a big fan of Excelsior Jet. I tried out the free version about a year-and-a-half ago, and was pretty happy with it. It was actually the only machine-code compiler I tried out of several that worked. If I ever get to the point where I can start selling my app, I expect that I'll use it. I've been checking the website every so often since then, and reading about the next version, where a JRE can be included in the distribution. That helped spark my original question. While the worry about making sure my application had the right JRE version will be solved, it still bugs me that I have to ship so much unnecessary JRE code. (I blame Sun for that, not Excelsior Jet.) I was wondering if it was at all technically feasible to strip out the unnecessary code, irrespective of the legal issues. When compiled to byte-code, my program is under 1 MB. When I compiled it to machine code under JDK 1.4, it was about 5 MB. I imagine that compiling to machine-code with the included 1.5 JRE, after compression, will result in a size in the 15-20 MB range. And this after refactoring my program to where it's about 1/3 it's original size. I'm really worried about the direction this is going, and I don't even want to think about what including the 1.6 JRE will require.
Where did you read that I've been programming Java since '97. I was a contractor at Sun between 1995 and 1997, and started working on Java 1.0 apps back then, but I don't ever remember mentioning that. If you asked because you're thinking I should know more about JVM/JRE issues, you're probably right, but I focus almost exclusively on higher-level application and GUI/Graphics issues. The deep-down Java stuff makes me break out into a cold-sweat.

When saving a file in photoshop cc , using "save as" the pdf has clipping (color is not showing) in parts of the document.

Initially I could find no cause. Then I tried right click - Edit and on the affected images, always get this warning:
"Image Cannot Be Edited - This photo was previously edited with another application or with an early version of Iphoto. Duplicate this photo to edit it." and a "Duplicate To Edit" Button is displayed.
The external Editor defined for iPhoto is Adobe Photoshop Elements.
Now, I reckon the MUST be others out there affected by this same apparent Preview bug, yet my searches have not revealed any answers. Also seems impossible to find a contact number for adobe???

Eric, thanks for the info about the pictures, it worked. The mail icon is not the one that came with the mac(it looks like a stamp with an eagle) this appears at a notepad with a ruler,paintbrush and pencil. I can not open it, I did not download it and now I can not turn off the computer with shutdown I have to manually turn if off by pressing the power button. This can not be normal.
