To track your ipod  what do you do

I lost my iPod how do you find it ?

IF:
1. you had an iCloud account set up on the iPod touch
2. and, IF you had enabled the find my iPod control under that iCloud account's settings
3. and IF your iPod is still on
4. and IF your iPod has an active wifi data connection
You MAY be able to track it from your iCloud web account (www.iCloud.com)
If you did not have a passcode enabled on the device, someone may simply have dis-abled the setting in your iCloud account on the lost device.  Or, they may have simply restored it as new, which wipes your information off it, making it untrackable.

How Can You Track Your Ipod If Lost Using The Serial Number?

The find my iphone app has nothong to do with it.
That app simply allow you to find other devices using your ipod.  It has nothing to do with fining the device on which it is installed.
If you set up the find my ipod feature that is built into your ipod and the ipod is on and it is connected to wi-fi and it has not been restored, then you may be able to get an approximate street address using icloud.
    Othrewise, it cannot be tracked.

  • Why can't iTunes track your ipod's serial number when it is synced to iTunes?

I was wondering Why, if your iPod is stolen, iTunes cannot track your ipod's serial number when it is synced to iTunes.. I've had my iPod touch almost a year now and it is registered in my name and everything. This past weekend someone somehow got into my car while at a concert and stole my purse, my ipod, my friend's ipod and wallet.  I didn't think to file a police report because I figuered there would be nothing they can do. Since, a lot of people buy and sell iPods all of the time from one another instead of from a store.  I thought to let it go, but it keeps haunting me, someone has access to a lot of my person information. This hit me when at work, I was using Pandora internet radio, and someone deleted all of my radio stations and added their own. They are still using it till this day and I have no clue what to do, I've changed my password to Pandora even.  I know it's being used via my iPod from my Pandora app, I regreat not downloading the new ios5 on my iPod... So, I really have no further idea of what to do. I contacted Pandora in hopes they could change my account password or delete it or something, I just hope they haven't used any thing else important. I really wish it were possible for iTunes to track an iPods Serial number when the iPod is either synced to iTunes / iTunes store.. If it were possible, I wish they could help me out and at least lock my prior iPod or hopefully delete everything from that.. I don't have much hope in this though :/

Thanks for the suggestions... tried tehm but no luck so I've taken it back. I think I'll try a Samsung (only other ones I've found with a Sleep Function) and move to Audible instead of iTunes. A shame after years of iTunes use but I shouldn't have to spend days getting a product to work. Thanks again.

  • Will you recieve your iPod sooner if you order by phone?

I heard that you will get your iPod sooner if you order by phone rather than online because of processing delays. Anyone know if this is true or not? Thanks.

Im really not sure, i suggest gettin it from the apple store, i ordered my 5g online 10/17 and on 10/19 was still porcessing called my apple store b4 and they said they didnt have it, called back on the 10/19 out of curiosity and they now have a "signifcant amount" in stock as i was told. Immediately cancelled online order and went to the apple store later that day and got my 5g, goin on 3 days now 1567 songs, 14 Music Videos, 1 Tv Show (Prison Break S01E01). And still growing, front screen still has plastic, and back has 4 hairline scratches already(not noticeable), awating invisble sheild. Whats funny about scratches you have no idea when or where it happened no matter how hard you try and take care of it.

  • Can the police track your ipod using the serial number?

can the police track your ipod using the serial number?

No. The SN will only help identify the iPod as yours if it is recovered.
    - If you previously turned on FIndMyiPod on the iPod in Settings>iCloud and wifi is on and connected go to iCloud: Find My iPhone, sign in and go to FIndMyiPhone. If the iPod has been restored it will never show up.
    - You can also wipe/erase the iPod and have the iPod play a sound via iCloud.
    - If not shown, then you will have to use the old fashioned way, like if you lost a wallet or purse.
    - Change the passwords for all accounts used on the iPod and report to police
    - There is no way to prevent someone from restoring the iPod (it erases it) using it.
    - Apple will do nothing without a court order

  • If you lose your ipod touch and you have a warranty how much would you have to pay to get a new one?

if you lose your ipod touch and you have a warranty how much would you have to pay to get a new one?

Full price. Warranty covers only manufacturing defects, not you losing the iPod.
Perhaps homeowners insurance of your credit card plan, if you used a credit card to purchase the original iPod, might cover all or part of the cost.
    Regards.

  • Is there any way to permanently disable(not usable) your iPod touch while you still have it?

Is there any way to permanently disable Itouch 4th gen

Only password on lock screen and restrictions for certain apps could be helpful in that case.
But restoring will remove this protection and delete all data, so make sure that other people can not take your iPod away from you.
    Other than that, no.

  • Is there a way to track your ipod touch 4th gen without the ipodtracker                                                  ker   without find my ipod

is there a way to track your ipod touch 4th gen without the ipodtracker

Of course not.  no warranty covers stolen products.
Warranties are for manufacturer defects, not damaged, lost or stolen products.

how can i track down my ipod that has went missing?

If you have an iCloud account, and registered your iPod in Find My...login to your iCloud account, then open Find My and highlight the iPod and it should search for it...but if the iPod is turned off, not connected to the internet, or been restored to factory settings it will not show up.  In that case there is nothing you can do to locate it.

    That;s my IPod... I just don't get it....:/

The photo sync is one way - computer to ipod.
You should be importing any pics taken with the ipod regularly as you would with any digital camera.

  • Keeping track of changes / What do you do!?

    Hi All,
I've been running various flavours of Debian for several years now, and only recently decided to give Arch a go! I've started with my TV media centre.  Everything has gone beautifully.  It was flawless! It's a quick and responsive as I've ever seen it.  The guides in the Wiki are amazing.
Now that it's working - I'm thinking..."how did I get here?" - What packages have I installed? What config files have I changed? Which directories did I create? Which timezone, local etc. settings did I change? Could I get back here tomorrow if I had to?
So "$ pacman -Qqe" seems to have my first question covered - I can fairly easily compile a list of what installed.  Does anyone have any pointers to establishing the answer of my other queries?
The main reason for my post though is: What do you do to prevent yourself from losing track of your system/config changes?
Do you manually document what you do? Take copies of your commands? Backup your config files before changing them (allowing for a diff later)? Or something else?
Thanks for reading - I would love to know how everyone else approaches this!

eekavic wrote:As I expected, no easy way of retrospectively working out what I've changed. I'm tempted to start again with a view to making sure I track what I've done.
Retrospectively working out the changes and settings is definitely tough. I'm going to second the recommendation for GNU Stow: https://www.gnu.org/software/stow/. It's very simple to manage all of your configuration files in a single git repo, and with one command you can symlink them to their proper location. It makes for a nicely organized repo: you can see how mine here. I haven't tried etckeeper yet, though. It looks interesting.
I've also been thinking a small script that will save a text file with all of my installed packages - then if I ever need to I can reinstall through those. Haven't got it yet, though.

  • How to track your ipod touch with serial number?

Well i lost my ipod touch and I don't know how to find it. Is there anyway to track my ipod touch with my serial number.

    Here is Apple article:
Reporting a lost or stolen Apple product
While Apple might be able to get information when the iPod is connected to iTunes, there would be privacy issues with revealing it to anybody who claimed it was stolen. Just think what would happen if you sold the iPod and later claimed it was stolen or lost.
