i tried to create it, a error appeared that "there is not enough space available on the disk to complete this operation"

This problem is caused by Windows not recognizing the Ubuntu partitions.  Windows is not designed to work with foreign partitions so this problem is caused by Ubuntu.

  • Installing Windows on Mac with Ubuntu

I am trying to triple boot windows, ubuntu, and osx. I have already installed Ubuntu on a partition using rEFIt and that all went very smoothly. I did that a while ago. Now I want to install windows but I am having all sorts of difficulty.
    1) Bootcamp doesnt work. A warning comes up at the very beginning saying "The startup disk cannot be partitioned." Well it already is. Is there any sort of work-around for this?
    2) When I dd the windows iso onto a usb drive, rEFIt does't even recognize it so I cannot boot the Windows installer.
I am pretty helpless right now. Any advice would help. I really don't want to uninstall Ubuntu. I could use Ubuntu to install Windows but I am not sure that would help. I really want this to work in a very simple unified way under rEFIt, only EFI is not recognizing my USB Windows Installer.
I dont have a CD/DVD drive on my new Macbook Pro, but perhaps I could get one and try burning a disk. Not sure if that would solve this issue or not. I am real need of someone who knows about this stuff.
    Thank you for your help,
    Chet

Hmm. I'd really like to avoid a virtual machine. I've always had bad experienced with them slowing down my machine. I'd really like to just be able to boot into windows from startup with refit. This doesn't seem impossible...
I'm going to try to use the installation disk via remote disc. I'd like to conclusively rule out everything else before deciding to use a virtual machine...
    Thanks

  • Bootcamp problem after unistalling Ubuntu

Hi guys, after I uninstalled Ubuntu from a Bootcamp partition, my MacPro keep on go on that partition at startup. Of course I receive black screen, so I´m forced to push Alt key down during the boot, but I can see just the icon of Macintosh HD. That´s pretty annoying ´cause if I forget to push Alt key I receive black screen and I have to force Mac to shut off and start all over again.
Any idea if I can solve this or do I have to format?
    Thanks a lot!

  • Can't reinstall Windows 7 with Operating System Recovery Disk x120e

    Hi,
I dabbled with Ubuntu on my Thinkpad x120e, but found that the dual-boot was unneccessary.  I (likely foolishly) followed directions online to use EasyBCD (http://www.makeuseof.com/tag/nongeeks-guide-safely-uninstall-ubuntu-dualbooting-machine/) to overwrite GRUB.
Of course, now Windows won't load!  I get an error
    Windows failed to start...
    1. Insert your Windows installation disc...
    2. Choose your language..
    3. Click "Repair your computer"
If you do not have the disc, ...
    File: \Boot\BCD
    Status: 0xc0000098
Info: The Windows Boot Configuration Data file does not contain a valid OS entry.
I got the Operating System Recovery Disc from lenovo (thanks Lenovo for sending it) and copied it to a USB as the computer has no DVD drive.  When I start the computer from the USB and select run from USB, it begins to load Windows, then Lenovo Rescue and Recovery 4...but then it crashes and restarts.  When I hit f8 and startup in SafeMode, it begins to load the safemode screen, but then also crashes.
Any advice on what to do??  Many thanks.

    Hello,
If you are okay with erasing the contents of the hard disk drive, you can try booting to a Windows Command Prompt, running DISKPART.EXE, selecting the hard disk drive, and issuing a "clean" command, which will erase the disk so that the operating system can be reloaded.

  • How to reinstall osx and recover data?

    Hi
If I reinstall osx 10.6.8 after hd format, and later connect my time machine external drive, will I get back all my stuff? I mean data, docs programs and so on?
After having played with a linux install, I found partitions ex linux I don't know how to delete and reassign to the mac hd, so I think the easiest way shoul be a fresh reinstall.
    Thanks, Gianfranco

Thanks, my osx is already at 10.6.8. I had a lot of fun with Ubuntu, and even if I was warned about issues, wanted to try. I did it because some hardware will not be detected by osx. Afterwards decided to uninstall Ubuntu and switch to W7 for the above. Disappoint: ex linux partitions will not be removed by disk utility, and, more frustrating, Bootcamp does not allow to install Win because it finds that mac hd is not journaled. Of course is not: to be it expects a contigous volume, not parted. So, just to talk about my experience, mac architecture is very rigid, both in hardware management and software: it wants to decide where to store or pick data according to itunes philosofy (not mine) and, at the moment don't find any advantage respect Win/Linux exept a beautiful piece of furniture. Sorry for my complaints, you were very kind and gave me a helpful hint, but I'm starting to regret the iMac/iPad purchase.
    Thanks for all, Gianfranco

  • [Solved] Lenovo Y560 Sleeve

I just bought a Lenovo Y560 and was wondering what size sleeve I should get. I am looking to purchase the BuiltNY Cargo Laptop Sleeve, but I don't know if I should get the Medium (15.4) or the Large (17).
If anyone has purchased a sleeve for their Lenovo, please tell me what size worked. If I at least have the dimensions of the sleeve that will help me as well.
    Thanks.
    ==UPDATE==
I ended up purchasing the BuiltNY Laptop Sleeve - Notebook sleeve - 16" - black and it fits perfectly. If you are interested in the Cargo Laptop Sleeve I would probably recommend the Large, because the 16" fits just right and any smaller sleeve would be pretty tight fitting.

Installing Ubuntu inside Windows is not only Faster than a LiveCD, but is better in some ways. Just download Ubuntu's ISO image and load it with something like daemontools. Install it inside windows, when it is done reboot. Press down to choose Ubuntu and press enter. It will finish installing Ubuntu. When it is done installing and loads Ubuntu then wait a few minutes for the Updater to load (unless you where connected to the internet while installing, as it updates then) When updates are done and you reboot. You now have dual booting windows and ubuntu. If for some reason or another you change your mind later, you can just uninstall ubuntu in windows like any other program. You only need atleast 4g of space to install inside windows (maybe 3g of space now, not sure) Cheers!
In my opinion, LiveCD's ruin a new Linux user's experiance as it is sluggish and a little buggy depeneding on your PC rather than it being installed on the drive. Inside windows does not mess up anything nor is a Partiton created when installed inside windows either.

  • Incorrect Available Space

After recently uninstalling ubuntu and correctly repartitioning my drive, the amount of available free space is still incorrect. If I open disk utility the following is listed under "Macintosh HD":

  • Ubuntu 10 (Linux) & Firefox 3.6 ~ How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in & ActiveX control

Ubuntu 10.045 (Linux) and Firefox 3.6.3  ~  How to uninstall the Adobe  Flash Player plug-in & ActiveX control
In general Adobe needs to offer Ubuntu (Linux) support.  I don't use Windows anymore and will go with whatever company provides me the Plug In's I need to function.  In this case at the current time, I can't use Adobe flash Player to view You Tube video's.  I followed the link that helps a user fix the problem:
Solve a Problem: The video won't play:
    http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=56115
I then saw that you suggested that I first needed to uninstall any older versions of the Flash Player and then install the latest version of the Flash player.  I clicked on the link find out how to uninstall it here:
How to uninstall the Adobe Flash Player plug-in and ActiveX control
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/141/tn_14157.html
They didn't offer any help with Ubuntu 10.045 (Linux).  Please offer the instructions and automatic (non-terminal) uninstaller.  Also, I want an automatic installer for Ubuntu 10 (Linux) & Firefox 3.6 that is easy like like you have for Windows and like Sun's Java has for Linux.
Message was edited by: u2rcrazy  ~   Edited Title

You should go to this site to see what versions of Flash Player and Shockwave Player you have installed.
    http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/welcome/
The versions you are listing (10.0 r12, 10.0 r2) appear to be Shockwave Plauer versions, not Flash Player.
If you want to uninstall Flash Player, there should be an uninstaller in the install directory.  I do not know where that is on Linux.

  • How do I uninstall Air on Ubuntu?

Hello everyone, I recently started playing Dofus and well Air seems to glitch lots and bug in and out for some reason. I get connection issues to the internet and losses in frame rates every few minutes.
So I wish to know how to Uninstall Adobe Air from Ubuntu. I couldn't find an answer anywhere else.
I will then try to re-install Air and see if it has fixed the issue.
    Thanks for any help.

    Hi
Which version of AIR are you using ? Please try the AIR2 beta (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/air2.html) and see if that rectifies the issues you are running into.
In any case, AIR is installed as a native linux package and can be uninstalled using the package manager.
If you want to do it using a terminal you can do it in the following way:
    sudo dpkg -P  $(dpkg -l | grep -i adobeair)
    -Thanks

  • Uninstall air application on linux (ubuntu)

Hi, maybe this is a stupid question, but I can't figure out
how to uninstall an air application on linux.
    Can you help me?

You can uninstall an installed AIR application (on all
operating system) by double-clicking the .air file used to install
it. The AIR application installer includes an option for
    uninstalling an installed application.
On Linux, you can also use a package manager (such as
Synaptec Package Manager) to remove installed applications.
