Can we release the standard price for a material whose Price control is "V"

Hi experts,
Could you please clarify my doubt that can we release the standard cost of a material whose price control is "V".
Our user is trying to release the std price. But its not getting released. If the material is of ML relevant I could have checked in CKM3 for any actual data existancy. I am aware that if any actual data existing the price could not be released.
But here this material belongs to a Non Material ledger relevant plant. So I cheked the stock overview and for any material documents if any. But this material has no stock.
I m confused how to check the material's transactions with FI entries.
Please help in this regard.

HI Sarat
1. You can release a std cost for material with V, but that wont serve any purpose.. The inventory valuation will happen at V alone
Either the material should have a BOM or Routing to release the std cost and MRP view shall have Proc Type as E / X
OR
You can have special proc in costing view as 20 and then execute CK11N for the material....
Some price must be there in material master which will get released as std cost (based on your valuation variant)
2. You can check material transaction using MB51

Update avg/standard price item after import

When i import the standard price with DTW and update the initial quantities in stock, i can't update the standard price again...When i don't import the initial quantities, i can change that a lot of times...

The Standard Price or Cost is used to calculate your inventory Value when performing Initial Stock Import.
Once the Item has a transaction and has stock the cost cannot be changed.
If you want to change the Cost, then you will need tp perform Inventory Revaluation. This function enables you to revaluate inventory values by changing the average or standard price of an item and calculating the total value of all the stock.
Access it from Inventory > Inventory Transactions > Inventory Revaluation

Material Ledger - release actual price as the standard price for the next-

Hi Gurus, Sap Library /documentation about Material Ledger says:
"At the end of the period, an actual price is calculated for each material based on the actual costs of the period. This actual price is called the periodic unit price and can be used to revaluate the inventory for the period to be closed. In addition, you can use this actual price as the standard price for the next period."
How Can I do that? i've calculated the new actual price but i could release it as a new standar costo.

Hi Both,
I think there is something else to add to this, the new PUP price can only be applicable in the period N+2 where N=Period of closing. This is something that is not specifically mentions in SAP documents.(not that I know of ) but I found it the hard way!

When i was trying to create a material of material Type: FERT, Iam unable to enter the price of the material in the accounting -1 view-> standard price.
The field has been disabled.
So please tell me how to enable the standard price.

go to OMS2 double click FERT
in valuation check which price control is allowed
it should be std. price
go to OMSR check MBEW-STPRS note field group
in OMS9 for this group and material combination check whether that field is maintained as display

Releasing the Standard price for the co product.

Hi All,
In my scenario , we have configure co product config and is that i have made the respective settings for the co - product in the material master with the joint production and the apportionment structure defined in the suitable ratio.. The cost estimate has been executed and the cost apportionment are resulted as per defined and it is perfect...
But when i tried to release the standard price using CK24, the price of the main product (FERT) is getting updated in the material master whereas the price of the co- product (FERT) is not updating in the material master. Is any settings has to be made from controlling aspect or settings in material master...

Hi Mahesh,
If you want to mark and release the non-leading co-product, you
need to create a cost estimate for it seperately. Then goto CK24,
the marking will be OK.

SE16 enter table MBEW
in the main screen
go to Settings> Field selection in that select fields
VMVER Moving price
VMSTP Standard price
and execute...

Problem with changing the Standard Price using MR21

I'm upgrading the system from 4.6C to ECC6.
Upgrading the Standard Price works normally in 4.6C. However, in ECC6, I notice that the data saved to CDPOS table is wrongly formatted. Therefore the other programs fail to read from this table.
Standard price is supposed to be right-justified. But it not like that in ECC6.
Can anyone tell me we should I look into to control the process of saving the data to CDPOS?

The link doesn't seem to help resolving my problem.
The changes is saved into CDPOS in the field Value_New (CHARACTER 254) in the way that the actual data can be retrieved by:
value_new+238
But any update to the standard price using MR21 now result in the value of Value_New that require:
value_new+7
to get the actual data.
Further more, in the old system, the standard price value in the decimal form like: "55.66" will be save to VALUE_NEW as "5566". So to get the real value, the system need to devide the value by 100 to get the actual new price.
In the ECC6 system, it is exactly the same as what we input: "55.66".
My question is: Is there an user exit, BADI or any way that can interfere the process of saving the data to CDPOS so that I can ensure the new Price will be save as "5566" and can be extracted using VALUE_NEW+238?

Mpving average price:
Qty (new) = Qty (old) + Qty (receipt)
Value (new) = Value (old) + Qty (receipt) * Price (receipt) / Price Unit (receipt)
Price (new) = Value (new) / Qty (new) * Price unit (mtl master)

Standar cost and product cost collector not updating the new price

Hi,
Created Standard cost estimate for one FG product and runned the product cost collector. Based on that consumption delivery everthing is made. Later on the work center and activity type changed in routing. Now i am trying to run the standard cost with new activity price (due to work center change) for the current period, system is showing only the previous rate(previous period) and it is not updating the new price becuase of already we have created the product cost collector.
Can any one give the suggestion for how to update the new price in standard cost as well as new price updation in product cost collector.

1. If the original cost estimate was run in the current month - Then you cant re-release cost estimate unless you reverse it from CKR1
If the cost estimate was of previous months - then you can definetely release it again
2. In cost collector, you need to manually cost it again using the Preliminary costing feature... Your cost coll will then show 2 cost estimates i.e. One from Original date to current date-1, and 2nd from Current date to 31.12.9999

How to find the unit price of a Material

Hi Friends,
Please help me in finding the field for Material unit price or How do I calculate the Unit price of a Material.
because in webdynpro screen user will entering only Material number,quantity. for that material I need to find the Unit price and calulate the to total amount like ( quanity * unit price) and put it in total amount column.
For that I require unit price of a material,I have plant,sales org.storage location.
is there any function modules for that?

See table MBEW. The value or price is in terms of UoM that you have in MARA-MEINS (base unit measure). You have 2 diff. prices: variable and standard in function of type (field VPRSV).

SBO - Update of standard price by batch-input (DTW)

Hello,
Is there a way to update by DTW the standard price related to some items ?
If there is no item cost yet computed, you can use DTW - Items. But if the item cost already exists, what should i do.

To change Standard Price for an Item already having a Standard Price you would need to use Inventory Revaluation.
I am not sure if you can do this through DTW
