To upload Classification View.

Hi All,
I need to extend the materials for Classification view, for both Batch Class and Material Class.
Now the problem the quantity is too huge to do it one by one so, may I know to do it in mass or if by LSMW then pls let me know the STD.

TRY the same with the help of BDC which can be done by a abaper.
you give the required input so that abaper can develop a recording .

No Material classification view in material master.

Hello all,
I have created LSMW for material master upload . Material is getting created through this, but 'classification view' is not getting created.
But i can see the material- class assignment in CL20N.
This problem is for specific material group.
Is there any relation between material group & classification view?
Plz advice how to resolve this?.

I found more information:
Batch Input for CL20N is no longer supported.
But you can continue to use batch input with the old transaction cl20.
Please have a look at note 943559, point 2. It would be even better to
use BAPI's instead. Please consult the notes 213120 and 373824 about the
possibilities you've got.
You can find information about the relevant Bapi's in transaction BAPI via:

Classification view in MM01 with LSMW

Hi all,
I am trying to upload Material Master data from LSMW using Direct Input method.
When I am using Direct Input method, I am not able to find fields such as KLART and CLASS_01 regarding Classification View(3rd view).
So I tried Batch Recording , still that data is not posting instead giving the message : "No data for the screen"
Is there any way to upload classification of material details?
Any ray of hope will be appreciated.

Hi,
Classification is a cross-application component and so it can be associated with any object, be it a material or a work center or a BOM etc. It treats everything as an object and is identified with the object key.
So you will create the objects first(materials, work centers etc), and then assign classes to them with some characteristic values. Now most of the online transactions combine these two activities into one and so you will be able to create a material and also create its classification view at the same time in MM01. But programatically there is no single such utility to do them together. You have to load your material masters first and then your classification using two different LSMW objects.

Problem in material master LSMW - Classification view

Hello all,
I have created LSMW for material master upload with standard input method. Material is getting created thr's this, but 'classification view' is not getting created only for some material groups. Functional consultant is saying that there is no such configuration exists in system regarding material groups.
Plz advice how to resolve this?.

I need to create Classification View for a Material. The user would provide the data in the file, example

Class M_CLASB-CLASS
Class Description M_CLASB-CSCHG

I read in the posts there is BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE. But I am not able to Map the above fields to pass to this BAPI.
Can someone please suggest me how to do this..

Thanks for the suggestion. But i want to do this through a program. There is a selection screen with 6 radio buttons based o view to be created and an input field for the filename.

How to get the values inputted by the user in Classification view of MM02

Hello,
Does anyone know how to get the inputted values in Classification view of MM02/MM01? I tried to use CLAF_CLASSIFICATION_OF_OBJECTS but this gets the values that is currently saved in the tables and not the values that the user recently inputted in the screen.

How to update/open Classification view of Batch in production Order

Hi All,
I have maintained the Class (023) and characterstics for Finished Material. When I am creating the production order, I am assigning new batch number in Production Order Header (Goods Receipt Tab).
In the background system is creating the Batch but not updating/opening the Classification view.
Every time I required to go T code MSC2N and required to open the classification view manually.
How to open the classification view during production order creation?

Hi,
You can only assign the Batch number in the production order, that meanas the said batch will get blocked and will not get saved in the Data base. You can enter the Batch number in the Production order and a while doing the GR you can make the system prompt the Classification view in the for ground so that you can enter the Characteristic values..
For the above to pop-up you need to enter the Value "3" in the Batch Classification field of the Production Scheduling profile created for the Plant in the Tcode : OPKP.
Please read the below information for additional inputs :
Option to classify batches
Specifies that the system branches to batch classification upon a goods movement or when you create or change a batch (not in the material master).
Use
If a batch is classified during a certain transaction or event, you can then use the batch determination facility to search for batches by class characteristics at the time of goods issue.
Procedure
If you work with batch classification, set this indicator for all receipt-specific movement types so that all existing batches are classified.

i start a vb Programm to create a material in sap.
I get all views with material_savedata but the classification view is missing.
Does anybody know if there exist a special bapi to create a classification view
over the .net connector ?

The function OBJECT_CHECK_ does not exist.
WHY ??
I have also tried to use
Bapi_Charact_Getdetail
to test, if something works but i really do'nt know what the meaning of
the parameters are . Perhaps somebody can explain them to me.
I have tried with charactername and used a * but the result is always 0.
Has somebody a documentation of the fields and tables that are
needed or filled or a little example of the us of the classification.

We use this bapi on a regular basis as well as classification of materials. We have success doing this in 2 steps. First step is to save the material using BAPI_MATERIAL_SAVEDATA, second step is to save classification using BAPI_OBJCL_CHANGE (this can be used for both create and change) Also look at Function Group CLBPA . there are several bapi's in that group dealing with object classification, including the one I mentioned..

Please follow the below steps.
Creating the Classification View using the Function module 'BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE'.
Check the Class Type and Class Number which you are passing.
Generally it will be Class type - 001 (Material Class) and Number will be ENGINEERING.
It depends.
But, what you can do is, Check material which has classification data filled.
And just use the same class Type and Class Number Details.
Try this way.It should work.
To know the Available Class Types refer to table TCLA.

Classification view creation via LSMW for Material master

Hi,
We are planning to have an LSMW for creation of material master along with classification view for configurable materials.
Though we see a flag to indicate classification view - XEIC1 Indicator: take Classification view into account
We do not see a structure where in we can pass all the characteristics and the corresponding values.
Is this something possible only with BAPIs such as -> BAPI_OBJCL_CREATE after creation of other view for that material.

However, we were intending to use a single LSMW for creation of all views of material master including classification view. Right now we are using Program RMDATIND as direct input method in LSMW.
Please let me know if there is a way to use single LSMW for creation of all views of material master.

I have a requirement regarding conversion method that is fields regarding classification view in customer master needed to be populated r created in through xd01 transaction this should be done using lsmw tool,if tried with standard method and bapi method ,can any one tell how to do whether it is bapi r standard method plz dont suggest recording method,even it is idoc method k r can any tell me which function module exists fr this ,POINTS will be awrded for answers .
