To use 11i Tax "AS-IS" in R12

Hi All,
We are upgrading from 11.5.10 to R12.1.1. Could anybody help me to implement or use 11i Tax "AS-IS" in R12 ? I heard that this could be fixed through setting up a Tax Rule to use 11i Tax as is in R12, but I'm not sure of how to do this.

I'm looking for a white paper which would tell me step-by-step procedure or telling me which set-up's or configurations should I do to make "AS-IS" work with the Tax in R12. Hi all,
A question to anyone using Withholding Tax in EBS R12…..or, to put it another way is anyone using Withholding Tax in EBS R12?
We are using it and we have encountered a big issue – for each invoice that has AWT two payments are being generated, the first is the correct payment and the second is a payment for £0.00. On the face of it this is not a big problem, however the accounting for the second payment is resulting in the liability account being overstated (this is not easily identifiable when using standard reports).
We are currently working with Oracle to create a datafix (and hopefully get a patch to stop the issue), but I am wondering if anyone else has the same issue?

How to track the history of supplier sites used for tax reporting (1099)

Hi,
Oracle financials doesn't allow two supplier sites setup as tax reportable sites (Unless one is inactive). Suppose if the supplier uses site1 for the year 2009 and site 2 for 2010 and now there is site3 setup as tax reportable. All three sites were setup in 2009 and all three sites are active. Supplier chosen different sites for each year as their tax reportable site.
How do we know which site oracle used to send 1099 for 2009 & 2010? How to track the history of supplier sites used for tax reporting (1099) in previous years?

Would the begin_date, end_date and status columns on HZ_PARTY_SITES_USES be any good? Our R12 installations is too new to have accumulated much data yet, but I would look in those columns first.

How AP behaves for withholding tax when vertax is used for tax calculation

Hi,
I am currently working on R12 implementation, I have requirement where business has to calculate the USE tax and withhold it from being paid to the supplier in case if use tax is not mentioned on the Invoice and pay it to tax authorities directly by business. Our client has Vertax third party tax engine. now the question is does it works same as it is in oracle payables in cases if client want to use vertax to calculate tax. How oracle behaves for withholding tax when vertax is used for tax calculations.

R12 CLASSPATH to compile the 11i custom OAF pages in R12

Hi,
Can you please let us know how to compile the 11i custom OAF pages in R12 in Unix Box.
We copied the 11i custom OAF pages to R12 and when we try to compile the java files all are erroring out. How can we compile these classes.

Can you use two tax classes in the same payroll run?

Hi,
I have a wage type that is currently set to Tax Class 1 (fully taxed) for processing class 71, I need to change it to tax class 7 (Withholding and SUI only) and have it computed as part of the regular payroll run and also by itself using offcycle.
When I have it set as Tax Class 1, all is well, when I change it to tax class 7, I get the error...

This is the first time we're using this tax class and I think i have it set up correctly in the tax model but am not for sure.
Any suggestions? I'd really appreciate some guidance as I've looked

I think you should not change the PRCL 71 from 1 to 7 wide open. Start it with begin date of pay period you want and keep the history with PRCL 71 1.
As well check the config of tax model.

Account Determination for Tax using Sale Tax Code

Hi,
We are using TAXINN and sales tax codes. We are using JTX1 condition in our sales pricing procedure for which we r maintaing condition record with correct tax code applied to it. We have assigned account keys in Tax Procedure, so no acct. key is assigned to JTX1 in sales pricing procedure. In record of JTX1 we are maintaining same tax rate (with tax code assigned to it) for eg. 4 % (not 100%) as maintained in tax code.
Now, we are able to save billing document but while creating accounting document system is giving following error:
No account is spesified in item 0000001002
No acct. was specified for acct. type S in item 1002 of the FICO doc.
The financial acctg. pgm. cannot process the doc.
A sys. error has probably occured in ther sppln. you called up. Check the data transferred to item 1002 of the FICO doc.

Hope you are working for Indian Client.
Since you are using TAXINN procedure, you should not use JTX1(Tax Jurisdict.Code) condition at all. As you are aware after implementation of VAT, we should switch off Tax Jurisdiction at all lelvels.
SD Pricing Procedure:
1. Condition Type Settings
a. Excise conditions (if req'd)
b. LST / CST Conditions
c. Freight and Insurance Conditions
2. Access Sequence Settings
3. Maintain Pricing Procedure
4. Assign tax code to Company code
Therefore, check your IMG settings once again.

We have a multi-plant PO for same vendor. When we are doing MIRO for plants other than Corp Serv.. We are not able to use Withholding tax. F4 does not gives any option in witholding tab in miro. where could be the problem

we also facing the same problem. we tried by passing to table accounttax.getting message documnet posted with key.but couldn't find the entry in table with that key.are the tables bkpf & bseg where it stores in case of account tax also?
cau send example code which you have tried and succes post with tax item and so flag was set.
Its so urgent for us.Please help us.

Generally it is done Country-wise. Like for one country No tax is applicable, for other country Full tax applicable.

Error using a Tax Code

Hi,
I created a new withholding tax code for Argentina. When i tried to post using this tax code I am getting the following error message.
Acct determination not defined for trans. WIT YY XX in chart of accts XXXX
Message no. F5 113
Diagnosis
An automatic posting cannot be created because the account determination for transaction WIT with keys YY XX is not defined in chart of accounts XXXX.
System Response
The document cannot be posted.
Procedure
Depending on the type of processing, you can hold the document and post it later. If this is not possible and the error cannot be eliminated straightaway in customizing, you must leave processing and enter the document later.
Please can someone advise how to fix this issue.

The solution to your problem is in 'IMG' under extended witholding tax configuration go to posting under that one of the posting transaction type is 'WIT'. Put in your debit and credit amount so witholding amount can post to the GL account whenever payments is made.
If you dont want to post or calculate witholding payment . Go to the setting of tax type ( for US it is FE or ST) there remove the flag 'Post automatically( I cnat remember the exact text) . It will then not give you error . let me know if this helped you or have more questions,

Is it possible to use a tax code in FB60 but which does not post any tax?

Hello Gurus,
Can you advise if it is possible to configure a tax code which can be selected in FB60. But we want this tax code not to post any tax value in SAP but simply to be allowed to be selected and populated in the doucment. In FTXP a tax code can be setup that does not need to have a tax rate % maintained against it or be linked to a GL account. However, this tax code cannot then be used in FB60 as the system asks that a rate is maintained and then that an account must be maintained.
Can you advise if it is possible to maintain a tax code in such a way that it can be selected in FB60 but does not result in any tax posting to any tax account? We want it so that no value is posted, so even a 0% rate would not be good.

If you set up 0% tax code, system will NOT post any entry to GL account. You can use the tax code in FB60 & MIRO & PO too.

Yes, I had a problem where I could not open an existing data file. And I have a solution. (I found on Whirlpool.)
Do NOT click Yes to use an existing data file. Instead go to File in the Menu Bar and open an (the) existing file from last used list. Good luck! I hope the ATO can get these issues sorted. ETax for Mac has been a long time coming.

HT1338 How can I use Turbo TAx with OS X 10.5.8?

I have ued Turbo TAx for years. This year the TT cd version is not compatible wit MAC OS X 10.5.8. IS there any way I can upgrade
so I can use Turbo TAx. I fear I am finding planned obsolescence here.
