To view this content you must install java - ERROR

I DO have java!!!  I have JRE version 8.25 to be precise. So why, on startup do I always get this silly message which then goes on to tell me that I have version 7 installed.
I DONT - I have searched and deleted every **** trace of version 7 - and reinstalled version 8.25 everywhere - BUT STILL this stupid pop error up appears every time I restart! I wouldn't mind but its giving wrong info! So how do I fix it?

I had the same problem and it drove me crazy every time I turned on my Mac.  I found the proper download here:

How do i get past this message?
To view this content, you need the latest version of the Flash Player. Adobe TV uses the Open Source Media Framework (OSMF) to deliver a superior video experience. Please upgrade your Flash Player to version 10.2 to benefit from this technology.
I am running Mac OS X 10.10.3 with the latest Safari version 8.0.5.
I have uninstalled and removed cache and reinstalled the Flash Player 17 many times, but still get this message when i try to view a video in Adobe TV.
I have version 17 of Flash player installed but the Adobe TV is asking me to upgrade to v10.2.

Try using a different browser and/or be sure to install and enable the Flash Player plugins for your browser.

  • To play this game, you must install Flash Player!

I'm going crazy.  I get messages to update my 11, then verify and it is installed.  Have followed all Internet Tools instructions to fix it, to no avail.  I can get into some games, then others tell me I must install Flash Player.  I moan at this time, "Not again!"  I'm too old to mess with it anymore, so taking one more shot at having someone get it fixed!

Download the following files by right clicking and selecting "Save target as"
    Flash Player Uninstaller
Flash Player for ActiveX (Internet Explorer)
Flash Player Plug-in (All other browsers)
Save ALL files to your Downloads folder - DO NOT RUN anything yet.
    Reboot your system.
BEFORE opening anything else, go to your Downloads folder and run the UNINSTALLER to remove all instances of Flash Player.
    Next, run the ActiveX Installer.
Lastly, run the Installer for other browsers.
Once Flash Player is installed go to: http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/alternates/#sp
Download BOTH files, the one on the right FIRST by right clicking and selecting "Save target as"... the other by clicking and following the steps to dwonload the FULL ActiveX installer.
After running the "Slim" installer, run the FULL installer from your downloads folder.
Once everything is installed, see:Enabling Flash Player in Internet Explorer  and: ActiveX Filtering in Internet Explorer  to make 100% sure that Flash Player is enabled and NOT being blocked by ActiveX controls.

There's a long discussion going on in the Safari forum about this problem - https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4203636?tstart=0. I haven't seen any definitive solutions posted but I've noted that many users appear to be using SingTel as an ISP.

  • IE 11 Windows 8.1 "to view this content you need the latest version of Adobe Flash Player"

Just installed the update Windows 8.1 and can no longer view media on sites that Windows 8 was fine with.
This problem applies to both the desktop and "Start Screen" versions of IE.
Adobe's Flash Player test site shows that the latest version of Flash Player is installed - though it shows my browser type as "None."
The same issue occurs using Chrome as well.
One site I am trying to view is: http://www.cbc.ca/thenational/watch/.

Here's the Flash Player Version for IE 11.0.9600.16384:
And here it is for Chrome 30.0.1599.101m
Both IE and Chrome were working fine before the 8.1 update.
And just to be clear. I am running Windows 8.1 (64 bit) not 32 as shown for the Chrome.
I installed Firefox after posting my original note - it is working fine.

  • To view this content, you need the latest version of Adobe Flash Player...

since upgrading to Windows 8.1 i keep getting this when trying to view video - live stream from CBC Sports.  i have the latest version, Shockwave Flash Object enabled, ActiveX filter disabled... nothing. what am i doing wrong?

    From cbc.ca
    Windows 8 and IE 11
Microsoft recently updated Windows 8 and Internet Explorer 11 to include a bundled version of Flash in the browser.
This has caused issues on multiple sites, including ours, whereby the user is prompted to download Flash, even though they already have it.
Please be advised that this is not a problem with the video delivery platform, but Microsoft code (IE 11). Microsoft is working on a patch to fix this problem.
In the meantime, the best workaround is to use a different browser.
    Also Windows 7 same issue.

Safari keeps prompting me to login to some unknown website that I have never been to, nor am I trying to go to.
E.g. Tabs opened: Google.com, Apple discussions --> Suddenly prompted "To view this page, you must log in to area "Restricted" on staging.examiner.com:80"

  • Error:This page contains content of "application/x-java-applet" type. You do not have the plug-in required to view this content.

Hi....i m using Mac OS x 10.5.8 with safari Version 5.0.2 (5533.18.5). I just updated the Java version to Java 6 and now m getting below error:
This page contains content of “application/x-java-applet” type. You do not have the plug-in required to view this content.
Please help me out on this....

I am also having a problem with this. My website is hosted through "www.onlinepictureproof.com" and now that my laptop is back from repair with OS X 10.6.8 I am unable to upload my photos to my work website. It says "a plug-in is needed to display this content. Install plug-in" and then a window pops up that says "no suitable plug-ins were found".  Below that is "unknown plug-in (application/x-java-applet)" with a link to "manual install" which takes me to "http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/index-jsp-141438.html#download" which just leaves me lost. I've tried downloading the "JRE" but I have zero idea what that means or if Im downloading the proper thing. Once I click on the "download JRE" it brings me to a download page where there are WAY too many items for me to choose from to download, when I have no idea what I need or why I need it. please help, this is driving me insane. I actually preferred my constantly crashing laptop to the state its in now, "like brand new" back from apple repair...I have already updated everything that is promted through "Software Updates".
"OnlinePictureProof.com" only directs me to apple support.
Thank you for any help you can offer!
    Sheila

If Adobe Reader or Acrobat is installed, there should be a setting in its preferences such as Display PDF in Browser. I don't use those applications myself, so I can't be more precise. Deselect that setting, if it's selected. Otherwise do as follows.
Triple-click anywhere in the line of text below on this page to select it, the copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    /Library/Internet Plug-ins
    In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-G. Paste into the text box that opens (command-V), then press return.
From the folder that opens, remove any items that have "Adobe" or “PDF” in the name. You may be prompted for your login password. Then quit and relaunch Safari, and test.
The "Silverlight" web plugin distributed by Microsoft can also interfere with PDF display in Safari, so you may need to remove it as well, if it's present. The same goes for a plugin called "iGetter," and perhaps others.
If you still have the issue, repeat with this line:
    ~/Library/Internet Plug-ins
If you don’t like the results of this procedure, restore the items from the backup you made before you started. Relaunch Safari again.

Nothing to do with the download; you need to open Adobe Reader once after the install is complete, and accept the EULA.

    Hi Tbeirne,
If you just want to save a pdf opened in Safari to your machine use the save as option from within the Reader plugin window. Just click on any of the buttons highlighted in below screenshots to Save a pdf at any location on your machine.
    or
To summarize the issue, if you had opened an Internet PDF in a browser plug-in, you must use the save feature in the plug-in, not the Safari File > PDF Export, or File > Save As...
Please let us know if this solution works for you and you are able to save and view PDFs files locally.
