Dear Mr.Reddy,
You mean to say,you want to know the sender's mail id(the person who's replying)
to any question?
If so,click on the sender's name and then further click on View user's Business
card.If they have made in their setting to view their mail id,then only you will be
able to see that.
One kind request,this is not related to forums.So kindly close this thread.

  • Is there a Thunderbird manual? I'm trying to understand all the View/Threads options.

    I'm learning Thunderbird, hoping to adopt it as my mail client (can't keep Eudora afloat any more). The forums are not efficient for learning it. Right now I'm trying to understand all the View/Threads options, but tomorrow it will be something else.

    Thanks, those are helpful. The first one doesn't explain threads options but it led me to https://github.com/protz/GMail-Conversation-View/wiki/What-is-threading, which told me to do View > Sort by > Threaded (I had only tried View > Threads > ...). It also explains threading by message ID, whereas Eudora seems to do it only by subject line.
    Neither reference explains the options under View > Threads > ... but I'll figure it out by trial & error.
    The second reference led to http://www.nidelven-it.no/documentation/thunderbird/introduction-to-thunderbird, which also looks helpful.

    Ben,
    If we do a search on the forum with nothing as keyword, we can get all the threads in this forum listed. Sorting by Replies will display (and offfcourse display 50 threads per page - oops that's the maximum....) and we have to look what we want. This is pretty vague technique. These are the top 3 threads.

  • RSS - View threaded by title instead of by date?

    Is it possible to view RSS articles threaded by title (like Mail)?
    I have feeds to various online discussions, but unlike Mail, the threads are based on the days the articles appear, rather than the discussion (based on title).
    Anyone know a solution for this?
    Thanks!

  • Viewing Threads In WinXP Pro SP2

    Hi all,
    I installed Oracle 9iR2 (9.2.0.1.0) WinXP Professional SP2 and tried to use Administrative Assistant to view the background processes/threads. It seems that either there is a bug somewhere or I missed some steps. The dialog box always displayed nothing - no thread.
    Here is what I've done. In Admin Assistant, I right clicked Computers->database->instance_name. I first used 'connect database'. A list of users and roles then displayed. I then chose 'Process Information' under the same menu. But the dialog box was empty. I've double verified that my database was started (i could select table in sqlplus).
    Why there was no thread displayed? Did i miss some steps?
    Thx for any input.

    Alternate solution to your problem.
    You can make use of v$bgprocess and v$process dynamic views.
    Use following query
    select a.name,b.spid from v$bgprocess a,v$process b where a.paddr=b.addr;
    Hope so this will solve your req.

  • Viewing Threads Offline - Needs To Be Sorted

    When browsing offline, the threads seem to be sorted by "start" date and not last post. We have at the moment for example, two very "hot" threads in the T-Series message board; T61p Graphic and T61 With Advanced Dock. If threads were, for offline browsing, set to last post at the top, a new visitor would see that there is more happening here, than they would at the moment, before having to click to the next page. These threads would naturally remain near the top, or at least on the first page. At some point in time they will of course disappear down the list into the cellar as they are no longer "interesting".
    Seeing "hot" threads, on the first page of a message board, would make a better impression by a first visit.
    just another 0.02 Euro cent worth.

  • Where can I view threads. I have lost an email and can't find it. It was there and disappeared??

    When I opened my emails a particular email was there unopened. I clicked on it to check what it was about and clicked off to check another email. When I went back to read it properly it was not there but a caption related to the email appeared at the bottom of subsequent emails that I opened to read. I have been unable to locate the email to read it properly and can not find where it has gone.
    Could you please advise how I may locate and access it.

  • How can I have the most recent message in a thread shown first and not last

    Thunderbird (used in conjunction with Gmail - I believe the term is mail client) message threads commence with the oldest; how can I make Thunderbird messages commence with the latest message?

    How do I get around this?
    '''Workaround:'''
    Right Click on the first email in thread and choose:
    'open message in Conversation'
    This open in a new tab and will include all emails both received and sent by you in that conversation.
    It will appear just like the oiginal view with oldest on top.
    Then click on the thread icon to remove the 'threaded' view.
    in my case the list is then sorted by Date with newest on top. So easily identifying the newest email.
    But if required you could clickon Date column header.
    Additional:
    Note: If the new email in the thread is unread:
    View > Threads > Threads with unread
    This will produce a list of the received emails in the thread
    If you then remove the threaded view by clicking on the thread column header, it will list emails by Date in whatever order you desire.
    Unfortunately, this only works with an unread email, so once you have read that email you cannot easily do this again to locate the email in the conversation unless you use the Workaround previously described.

  • Maximum number of threads

    I have an application for which I am interested in obtaining as many simultaneous
    threads as possble (e.g. 10's and possibly 100's of thousands of threads).
    More specifically I have developed a simulation language formalism in which the
    dynamics of each "entity" moving through a network of queues is coordinated by
    a separate thread of execution.
    This is not a traditional application where all or even some small number are
    intended to run concurrently. A single executive thread is responsible for alternately
    activating and deactivating individual threads to reflect the time ordered sequencing
    of events corresponding to each entity's movement through the system of queues.
    As a result, only a single thread is executing at one time.
    Using a separate thread for each entity off-loads the task of managing each's
    execution context to the JVM. The resource contention issues that arise in a
    standard multi-threaded application don't apply here.
    For "large" systems though (ones populated by many entities simultaneously) I
    need many threads.
    I'm using JRockit's thin thread model on a Windows XP machine and am "only" able
    to get approximately 25000 threads at which point the JVM hangs with no diagnostic.
    I say "only" because at that point there seems to be plenty of heap space left
    as well as Page File space left in the XP's Virtual Memory system.
    I'm using the following JVM command line:
    java -Xthinthreads -Xss32K -Xms256M -Xmx256M -Xallocationtype:global
    Surprisingly, by altering the heap size upward from 256MB to 512MB acutally causes
    the VM to hang with fewer threads (only 20000 or so)
    Using allicationtype:global and altering the stack size of the threads seems to
    have little effect on the maximum number attainable.
    It seems the maximum number of threads attaible should be a function of the size
    of the heap space, and the amount of physical and virtual memory limits on the
    system.
    My empirical evidence, however, seems to indicate there is some internal VM limit.
    Can someone explain for me the implementation of the thin thread model and its
    limitations w.r.t. the number of threads it can support?
    Thanks in advance for you help.

    You might try to use the new java.util.concurrent.* api available in j2se
    1.5.0 as
    a base for your implementation instead.

    The reason for the "artifical" limitation of 32767 is that each thread
    needs to have it's own id. The way the object synchonization algorithm
    works, there has to be space for this id in the header of each object.
    The header has a very limited amount of space (currently 2 words) and
    thus there is not space for a larger thread id than 32767.
    You may be interested (but sad) to know that the thinthreads model has
    been removed from later versions of JRockit. The reason was the overhead
    of maintaining and supporting multiple threading systems was just too
    much work for a small return. Although, for very specialized systems
    (like yours) it would give a higher return.
    About your calculation. You said in you first post that you set -Xss32k
    which means that each thread will take at least 32k memory, more likey
    40k with other overhead. That means about 25 threads per MB or 25000 per
    GB, given that everything scales linearly.

    Staffan,
    Thanks for your response. Certainly in a traditional multi-threaded
    applications
    where there exist many runnable threads competing for resources, thepoint of
    diminishing returns is usually on the order of 10's of threads; but, asI mentioned,
    this is not a traditional application. In this case, the threadingframework
    is used as a natural and convenient way to manage the execution contextof the
    (many) entities in the system. Since I'm not interested in trueconcurrency or
    exploiting parallelism, I view threads as just data and it strikes methat I should
    be able to get as many as I have room for. In fact the green threadsmodel of
    the pre JDK 1.4 JVM's was well-suited to this kind of application but itseems
    the JVM implementors have not considered this in removing support forgreen threads
    in their newest releases. The thin threads model of JRockit is the nextbest
    thing but the 32767 limit seems entirely artificial.
    Do you know of any way to bump up that limitation or who I might contactat BEA
    about the matter?
    I'm aware that stack space and other context specific data must beallocated for
    each thread so let's say for the sake of argument that each thread takes10KB
    of data. That means I get 100 threads per 1MB and it would take 1GB toget my
    100,000 threads. That is not an unusually large amount of data ontoday's desktop
    computer. Furthermore, with the advent of 64bit computing on thedesktop, we'll
    see machines supporting much more than 4GB.
    Staffan Larsen <[email protected]> wrote:
    First: which version of JRockit is this with?
    With thinthreads the limit is 32767 threads. But you may run into other
    limits before that. When you increase the heapsize you "steal" memory
    from the system (which would otherwise be used for stacks and other data
    structures) and that is why you can run fewer threads with a larger
    heap.

    I don't think it is realistic to run 100's of thousands of threads in

    Hello all,
    Iu2019m seeking a solution for a UWL issue.  Background:  Weu2019ve configured a specific workflow task for use when a travel expense form is returned for correction. Weu2019ve also configured the XML code so that a comment is required upon returning a travel expense form to the initiator.  The solution Iu2019m seeking is this, what XML code do I use to force the view Memo to default for the workflow task that handles the returned item.  Currently the preview view defaults, but weu2019d like the return comments to show first in this situation.   Thank you for any help that you could provide

    Hi Bhaskar,
    I tried to reproduce the issue in my test environment(SharePoint 2013 Server), It is worked fine. The
    code as below:
    using System;
    using System.Collections.Generic;
    using System.Linq;
    using System.Text;
    using System.Threading.Tasks;
    using Microsoft.SharePoint;

    static void Main(string[] args)
    using( SPSite site= new SPSite("http://sp/dennis"))
    SPWeb web = site.OpenWeb();
    SPList list = web.Lists["DiscussionList"];
    SPView view=list.Views["Threaded"];
    view.DefaultView = true;
    view.Update();
    list.Update();
    I suggest you delete the IE browsing history and reopen the IE to check whether it works or not.
    Or you can use the IE F12 developer tools to check the html code of the site logo link.

  • Importing to Discussion Board Post from legacy source

    Hi All,
    Im sure im not the first to wonder or ask this question but here it goes.
    We have recently moved out intranet to SharePoint 2013. We have rebuilt from the ground up using many of the out of box solutions as well as some third party apps and web parts however these is one aspect that is stumping us.
    On our old intranet we use a SQL based forum/discussion board package which has
    about ten years worth of posts, surveys, Q&As etc. As it is SQL based it is very easy for use to query and pull this legacy data however
    we cannot find a way to import into SharePoint. We do not expect to import it all but would like to import at leas the last 12 months of submitted
    data with at least basic fields like Title, description/content, tags, post date and post user. We do not mind other metadata being striped out like voting etc.
    We have dug deep into the SharePoint database files to see if we can directly insert but
    it is very complex and almost certainly not supported. We was also hoping for a discussion board data list view so we could bulk cut and paste. This is not ideal but would at least be a better option than manually inserting each post.
    Does anybody have an idea where to start if at all possible.
    Mark

    Won't keep me logged in,
    This is a server problem. In other words, "don't adjust your dial!"
    spinning balls,
    All this means is that the rendering is slowed down by something in the design of the website. If it is a thread with over 500 posts, you probably will have difficulty viewing it, unless you have a high speed internet connection with low latency, enough hard disk space to cache the files, and/or view threads in tree mode. To use Tree mode, go to My Settings, and select Tree View under Topic Page View in the General SEttings.
    Bad Request
    Sometimes will happen if your internet service provider is behind a backbone with significant peering issues.
    So how big is your hard drive?
    How much free disk space is there?
    Have you tried to empty the browser cache?
    Does this issue happen with short threads as well as long ones?
    Do you have any system modification software such as Speed Download, PthHelmet, or other browser enhancement software?
    Are you sure all your software is known to be Snow Leopard compatible?

  • Tweak SharePoint 2013 Discussion Forum

    I have a discussion forum created in SharePoint 2013.  I want to make some minor tweaks, but searched everywhere on how to do it and changing random settings is getting me nowhere.
    Add choice column
    I would like to add a category as a Choice column so that it shows up:
    1.    In the Subject view, ideally before the author.  E.g.
    My question about so and so
    CategoryXYZ | By Randar Puust | Latest reply by Randar Puust | About an hour ago
    2.    Editable when I add or edit a post.  I know I can do this through List Settings.  I just want to makes sure the solution to 1 does not break this.
    Default for Question
    I would like to make the Question field Yes by default.  Everything starts as an unanswered question unless they explicitly turn it off.
    Note: I am not afraid of changing code if I need to, but I've never actually done any code level customization of SharePoint.  I've barely used the SharePoint designer.  So not quite a newbie, but far from a guru.

    In terms of using the Discussion Board app, either I'm not understanding what you mean (which is very possible), or you may not realize how restricted the discussion app is 2013.  The three out of the box views (Threaded, Flat and Subject) do not allow
    any customization at all.  I can't even add columns.  I've tried to add the columns like so:
    But they do now show up in any of the views.
    I can get it to show up when the discussion item is created and when I export to Excel, but I cannot get it to show up in the threaded view.  I would include more screenshots, but this forum only allows 2 images per post, so hopefully these screenshots
    help clarify my challenge.

  • Using VPD (Virtual Private Database) with Discoverer for Dummies

    Firstly could you please excuse me for the title of the thread, but it’s all I could come up with. For those of you who are looking at me with a strange look of disgust, please view thread that started it all: BIS vs DBI vs Noetix .
    Otherwise I’m hoping to gain a greater understanding of how VPD can be used to enhance Discoverer and it’s performance. I've just read that :
    “Oracle 8i introduced the notion of a Virtual Private Database (VPD). A VPD offers Fine-Grained Access Control (FGAC) for secure separation of data. This ensures that users only have access to data that pertains to them. Using this option, one could even store multiple companies' data within the same schema, without them knowing about it.
    VPD configuration is done via the DBMS_RLS (Row Level Security) package. Select from SYS.V$VPD_POLICY to see existing VPD configuration.”
    With Regards to Discoverer, I would like to ask the following:
    -When would be best to use VPD in Discoverer?
    -Pro’s and Con’s of VPD?
    -Tips / Tricks?
    -and anything else Michael would like to add (I don’t believe there is a post limit, although this could change in the future)
    I've found a few handy links:

    Lance,
    You sure do raise some interesting questions here.
    I've noticed from some of your previous posts that you are using views to link Discoverer through to apps. I have found this very interesting document that may help with your queries; http://www.oracle.com/technology/deploy/security/oracle9ir2/pdf/VPD9ir2twp.pdf
    If you scroll down to the section "Additional VPD Capabilities" and read the following sub-topics, this might enable you to base your Discoverer reports on views that contain VPD policies.
    I trust "My Positive Comment" may help!!
