Helps if you tell us what version of Pages and something about the file.
Probably you have 2 versions of Pages on your Mac.
Pages 5 is in your Applications folder.
Pages '09/'08 is in your Applications/iWork folder.
You are alternately opening the wrong versions.
Pages '09/'08 can not open Pages 5 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5.01 can not open Pages 5.1 files and you will get the warning that you need a newer version.
Pages 5 can open Pages '09 files but may damage/alter them. It can not open Pages '08 files at all.

How can I get Firefox to save what folder I last uploaded from?

I recently updated to FF 5.0.1 from some antiquated version of FF 3. I have set the download destination so that it always saves to the folder of my choosing, but it does not seem to remember the folder I last uploaded from. For example, say I wanted to find an image, save it, and then upload it somewhere (a common occurrence for image macros on chan boards). With the previous version of Firefox, I could save to something like C://User/Pictures and then click "browse" to chose the image I just saved from another site. It would then open up C://User/Picutres and I could click on my desired image.
Now any time I restart Firefox the default upload source is the desktop. Previously Firefox would have saved information and would by default open up whatever folder I last saved to (or uploaded from if that was the last action). So if I downloaded to C://UserABC/Pictures/FunnyPics then Firefox would open C://UserABC/Pictures/FunnyPics for uploading. Now it goes straight to C://Users/UserABC/Desktop.
This makes it a real pain to navigate BACK to the folder I do most of my uploading from every time I restart Firefox. How can I set it up so Firefox will once again open up my last saved-to or uploaded-from folder as it did before?

We get .CSV,.XML,.DOC.PDF files on the N/w drive. One Batch Job will be running every night and this job should upload all the files present in that N/w drive to the database (Each File should be stored in one row with unique ID) and after loading of each file is done , move the uploaded file to the backup directory.
Note : Average file size is 10-15 MB.
Loading of files in database should be done only using Oracle procedure/function.
Already return this process in Pro*C. But I don't know How to write in Oravle Pl/Sl...?

How to avoid the split problem when uploading the data from csv file

              I have to upload data from the .csv file to my custom table , i have found a problem when uploading the data .
i am using the code as below , please suggest me what i have to do in this regard

in the flat file i can see for one of the record for the field Title as
Director, Finance - NAR............there by through my code the wa_empdata_csv-Title is getting splited data as "Director, and Department field is getting Finance - NAR" , i can see that even though " Director, Finance - NAR" is one word it is getting split .
.......which is the problem iam facing.Please could any body let me know how in this case i should handle in my code that this word
"Director,Finance - NAR"   wil not be split into two words.

Hi Madhuri,
Best way to avoid such problem is to use TAB delimited file instead of comma separated data. Generally TAB does not appear in data.
If you are generating the file, use tab instead of comma.
If you cannot modify the format of file and data length in file is fixed character, you will need to define the structure and then move data in fixed length structure.

When installing Firefox 35 into Windows 7 running inside VMware Fusion on a Mac, into which folder should I put the downloaded Firefox installer file?

Inside Windows I see a folder called PROGRAM FILES and another one called PROGRAM FILES (X86). Is either of these the correct one to put the Firefox installer program into before I launch the installer? There is also a folder called WINDOWS. Sorry for such an elementary question but I've never been a Windows user; just Macs so far until now. My intention is to download the Windows version of Firefox using a browser on the Mac side of the computer since I have working browsers there. Then I would copy the ".exe" file to whichever Windows folder is correct. Am I on the right track or am I courting disaster?
Also, will there be a preference inside Firefox to make it the default browser in the Windows environment? I'd like to avoid using Internet Explorer.
( I'm writing this from the Firefox browser, v. 28.0 in the Mac OS (10.6.8). I didn't click the "Automatically Add" button for submitting troubleshooting information because I'm not asking about the browser in the Mac OS environment.)

If I import it, a message comes up Unreadable file, the following file could not be imported. them it tells me where the file is and it cannot be opened. This drives me crazy!!!!!!! How do I fix this?

I had this problem some months ago and the following solution from Terrence Delvin put things right:
Go to your Pictures Folder and find the iPhoto Library there. Right (or Control-) Click on the icon and select 'Show Package Contents'. A finder window will open with the Library exposed.
Look there for a Folder called 'Import' or 'Importing'.
Drag it to the Desktop. *Make no other changes*.
Start iPhoto. Does that help?
If it does then look inside that folder on your desktop. Does it contain anything you want? If not you can trash the folder.
However, since connecting a memory stick to my computer, I now have the same problem again. This time there is no folder called 'Import' or 'Importing' so what should I do?

If it were me, I would deinterlace the 25i footage and keep the project progressive. But it does really depend on what your final output requires.
Little difference in Contrast (Canon is better!!!)
Try using Premiere's color correction tools (fast color corrector, curves, etc.) for that.
I tried with Sony's XDCAM EX 1080 25i preset - but then
the Progressive material seems to have lot of flickering.
Did you try interlacing the footage (Right click on clip, select "field options", and check "interlace consecutive frames")?

Where is the google earth myplaces file

hello all. i am brand new to the mac air and so far so good, getting used to the nuances, interface, etc.
i am looking for the file on the macbook air and can not find it. i have a few places pinned so there should be one somewhere. i have looked on the internet, checked the locations it is supposed to be, tried searching for in in finder, all to no avail. so if anyone can help me find the file on the mac air it would be appreciated.

What folder are the clips stored in?

I import using iMovie and just drag the clips from there into FCP, but it sees like my hardrive space is going away, no matter how many clips I delete. What folder does iMovie store the clips in that you import? How do I completely delete clips I want to get off my harddrive?

I don't use FCP so I'm not aware of its saving scheme.
Most digital editing software uses "referenced" links and the final file is not saved until it is rendered.
Most DV editing software "renders" as the files are imported, however and these files consume large amounts of hard drive space.
DV clips are huge. You can move them to external drives or burn them to DVD as data files and reuse them.
