Toast titanium stopped working

Recently updated my old Mac Book Pro with the Mac Box Set. I am using an external DVD burner. Yesterday I tried to burn a DVD but Toast Titanium 6 will not start. Tried installing the software that the external unit came with (Toast Titanium 9) but the OS will not let it install.  Is any one having the same problem?

Specs: Windows 7 64bit, Steel Series 5Hv2, Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium, need more info let me know
It worked perfect when I got the pc built 4 months ago then just the other day when I tried to run skype it didn't work with skype so I messed with settings now the mic just doesn't work at all, I've done a ssytem restore, I've reformated, updated the drivers, put settings to default, I even let Dell look and they couldn't figure it out, I check the plugs and it's in the mic in part, how could this happen it worked perfectly before. If anyone has any clue how to get windows 7 to read the mic from the sound card?

So out of the 22 people who looked at my post none of you know how to help me get my mic working, that's pretty cool

  • Question;Will Toast Titanium work with new'SnowLeopard?

So I do have Toast 7.....will it work? do I need some kind of 'upgrade on my Toast Titanium for it to work with Snow L??? thx in advance! Larry

I've burned a couple of CDs with Toast Titanium 8 with success since installing SL. Haven't tried DVDs yet. However, I had no luck with Tivo Transfer portion of Toast 8. Sounds like that is what other users are experiencing as well. I might have to bite the bullet and upgrade to Version 10.

  • Toast titanium 7 program also doesnt work anymore since upgraded leopard

Also my toast titanium 7 doesnt work with Leopard

That's true. You need Toast 8.0.3. Sorry.
BTW, there are a lot of programs that aren't compatible with Leopard. See http://www.macintouch.com/leopard/compat.html

  • 2010 Mini superdrive has stopped working after Mountain Lion update - anyone else?

After updating to 10.8 the superdrive on my 2010 mini has completely stopped working. It will not accept any disks. Disk Utility sees the drive as a working drive. Anyone else having this issue? If yes and you've resolved it, how??

Same thing happened to me with Mountain Lion. It seems that at the moment there's no solution. I've tried to burn a DVD with Toast Titanium, iDVD and the SimplyBurn. All of them failed.
It's a shame that Apple did this because we pay for a computer with a drive that could burn DVD discs. I´m very, very disappointed with Apple!

  • Help!  Toast keeps stopping when burning dvd

    Hi,
I have a Macbook 2ghz with 1gb memory 667mhz ddr sdram using mac osx version 10.4.11 and am having problems with Roxio Toast Titanium version 9.
Basically, I am burning say 4 .avi movie files some with subtitles onto a dvd as a divx disc and toast burns the dvd to about 47% then it just stops and I have to quit the program. Can anyone help me with this? It worked fine when I had version 8 then it started doing the above so I got version 9 and nothings changed. Version 9 works fine on my other computer. It is really frustrating. Should I remove some files from my computer to help....
I have just updated the firmware on my computer and still nothing works. To be more specific when toast is 'encoding' it always stops responding at 47%.

    Hello there,
thanks for your message there is 24.5gb free space. I just noticed that one particular .avi file is causing the problem. Toast burnt the other movies fine (on a separate disc) and when burning the message would come up 'writing...' but when I burn this problem .avi file a message comes up saying 'encoding...' so toast is treating it differently for some reason and then it only does 47% and stops working. I tried with different versions of toast but same problem only with this particular avi file. I am not so bothered now as it is only one movie (although a good one!) but i would like to know what is causing it. Do you think it's because I don't have enough free space?

  • 17" MacBook Pro Display stopped working

    Hello,
I have a 17" 2.6GHz Intel Core 2 Duo MacBook Pro (purchased January 2008) and the display stopped working today. There is no light behind the Apple logo on the back or the display. The little white light by the latch works as normal, and I can hear the disk spin up when I power it off and on using the power button.
When I connect to an external monitor, there is no signal. When the machine is powered on, I can see the drive on the network. I have also tried booting up using an install CD as well, but no luck.
Yesterday, I updated all my software applications and did all the Apple software updates, everything worked fine. I am still on Snow Leopard, version 10.6.8.
    Any suggestions? Is it toast?

Went to the Genius Bar yesterday. It's part of the NVIDIA issue.

They had the part in stock should be able to repair it in 1-3 days.

  • Blu Ray Workflow: FCP7 to Toast Titanium 11

    Good Afternoon,
I'm trying to get a grip on the workflow for burning a Blu Ray Disc for a client.
I'm working in FCP7 - have Roxio Toast Titanium 11 as well as a Buffalo Blu Ray Burner.
Can anyone provide me a step by step for taking a finished FCP7 project, running it through compressor with the correct settings and then how to take that and create a Blu Ray in Toast Titanium 11 with a menu.
    Much appreciated! Cheers!
    Keith

From FCP-7, export a QuickTime movie of your finished sequence, Self Contained and Without Conversion.
    Go to the menu File > Export > QuickTime Movie . . . .
and in the navigation pane that opens make sure Settings is set to Current Settings and Make Movie Self Contained is checked.
Open Toast 11, click on the Video Tab and from the Drop Down menu choose Blu-Ray video.
Drag the QuickTime movie you exported from FCP-7 into the Toast Drop zone.
Select your destination media and buner at the bottom.
Set up your menu and other options in the right panel. Toast is not known for having great, or flexible, menus but the menu choices they offer are there.
When done click the Burn button and Toast will properly encode the video, and then burn the disc for use on most set-top Blu-Ray players. Early Blu-Ray players may or may not support home-made blu-ray discs, most players made in the last few years do.

  • Roxio Toast Titanium 6.1 cannot see superdrive in MacBook Pro 17"

    Hi Folks,
My superdrive worked perfectly fine with Toast Titanium 6.1, burning Cd's,Dvd's,dual layer Dvd's without any issues.
But just recently Toast has informed me that it cannot find a recorder.
here is the details of my superdrive as listed by System Profiler:
    MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-85J:
    Firmware Revision: FAV1
    Interconnect: ATAPI
    Burn Support: Yes (Apple Shipped/Supported)
    Cache: 2048 KB
    Reads DVD: Yes
    CD-Write: -R, -RW
    DVD-Write: -R, -RW, +R, +RW, +R DL
    Burn Underrun Protection CD: Yes
    Burn Underrun Protection DVD: Yes
    Write Strategies: CD-TAO, CD-SAO, DVD-DAO
    Media:
    Media Type: CD-ROM
    Blank: No
    Erasable: No
    Overwritable: No
    Appendable: No
I am currently trying to get Roxio suipport to resolve the issue but no luck so far.
I have uninstalled & re-installed the Toast software, repaired permissions, the works but stiil Toast cannot see the Superdrive.
The only thing I can think of is I installed a recent firmware update for the MacBook Pro & maybe that had something to do with it.
I also don't think that updating to the latest version of Toast 8 will resolve the issue either.
Remember that the Superdrive was working just fine with Toast.
I have searced the froums & apple support documents to no avail.
The Toast site is not much help either.
Anybody have any ideas or a similar problem.
    Thanks
    fargione

    My problem has been solved!
I have carried out a complete re-install of the Os & I am right back up to OS 10.4.10.
Al the available updates have been installed & Toast 6.1.1 works just fine & sees the superdrive without any problems.
I think I have worked out what caused Toast to break.
Sometime back I was advised to run an app called Monolingual.
It is a utility that removes unecessary language resources from the os & reclaims disk space.
My advice is to live with the extra language's & avoid Monolingual.
Once again thank you all for your help.

  • 10.4.9 and Toast Titanium

Since I´ve downloaded the 10.4.9 update I have problems to burn DVDs with Toast Titanium 6.1.1
    CDs are not effected
The burn process starts properly, but a few minutes before it is finished it stops the job and Toast freezes.
Does anybody else encounter this problem?
    Thanks for your help!

Hi Big Tom Cat and welcome!
You should probably update to Toast 7, the latest version of which is 7.1.2. I have had no problems with that.
Or of course go straight to the latest version: Toast 8 !

  • WRT150N router has suddenly stopped working - please help :)

I really don' know much about how routers work, so I am hoping you all can help me.  I have a home PC and an HP notebook.  We have a cable modem and a linksys wrt150N wireless router in order to use the laptop around the house.  It was working fine up until 2 days ago, when it suddenly just stopped working.  Nothing has changed.  I've tried unplugging, rebooting, resetting the little button on the back of the router.  I've tried clearing and refreshing the IP address.  The wireless and the security lights aren't lit up anymore.  I have tried to repair but I get the errors can't acquire a network address, and can't renew the IP address.  I've tried reinstalling the cd that came with the router.  I get router not found.  Please make sure the router is properly connected.  I don't know what to do anymore.  I can't get to the router set up because I can't use the internet without bypassing the router and connecting directly from modem to computer.  Is there any way I can fix this or is this router toast?  We've only had it for 2 years.  I am running XP on the PC, and Vista on the laptop.
If anyone has any idea what is wrong, please please let me know.  I have school work to do on the laptop and really need my wireless connection back.
    Thanks so much.

If you are unable to configure your router using the setup disk, then you can configure all the settings on your router manually.

  • Soundcard suddenly stopped working

Hello, all. I have a Model #SB0880 regular titanium SB X-fi soundcard which I have had for about 9 months, always working perfectly. I have a set of Bose speakers plugged into it. I had a Logitech webcam the whole time that I use occasionally, never had a problem with it, either. A couple weeks ago I upgraded to a Logitech Pro 9000 and installed the different camera software that pertains to it. I also installed some Windows Li've components the same day. All was still well for a full week, I made a few videos, my speakers still worked. All of a sudden about a week ago I booted up the computer and came to realize I was getting sound out of my monitor which I don't think I ever had set as the default. No sound from speakers. Initially assumed speakers had fried but they were perfect the day before so I started poking around and in Control Panel under Sound I saw that speakers were listed as not plugged in, even though they were also enabled and working properly. After checking that they had not been unplugged I tried them with my iPod, as well as in the other speaker port on my computer and they indeed still worked (and showed up as plugged in), so I realized it must be the soundcard. I checked it and it also stated enabled, working properly, and with latest driver installed. I tried changing it to the default but still no sound. I tried disabling and re-enabling. I also disabled all the other sound devices listed, still no sound. I re-enabled everything and oddly, the other items all showed back up in the Sound menu, but now the soundcard does not, even though it is still listed under the sound devices in the Device Manager area, still saying working properly.
I have been told that I need to uninstall and reinstall it, and someone else told me to also uninstall and reinstall the camera. However, I would like to figure out why this happened in the first place and how to avoid it in the future as I don't want to go through all that and have it go silent again in a few days. Obviously I cannot disable the camera if I am going to use it, and it is also my only mic source at the moment. I had seen something on the Creative site the first day this happened about disabling your webcam, but it did not go into detail as to why, and now I can't seem to find the statement again. Meanwhile, Logitech claimed to know nothing about this and that the camera would not cause such an issue, even though there are postings on their own forum going back two years that coincidentally involve this same soundcard. So something weird is going on, but the fact that I had a webcam from the same brand that li'ved harmoniously with the soundcard for almost a year would lead me to believe there should be a way to set it up where they can both work. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Uuummm- well this is really weird! I just went to Playback again and noticed the Creative listings were there, didn't occur to me right away that they shouldn't be since I uninstalled, but then I realized one of those actually said 'speaker' and had the speaker icon (before it just said 'line-in jack'). It was also set to 'communications device' through no help from me, monitor was still the regular default. I just selected it to be main default and I have sound from it again?!?! How on Earth did that happen?! How did it even reinstall? Oh, brother. I'm glad it is working, but not knowing why it stopped working or how it fixed itself is a little frustrating. Well, thanks for your help, let me know if you have any ideas about what is going on here.

  • Toast Titanium 10 - unidentified developer?

    Hi,
I recently upgraded to Mavericks. All good. Then I downloaded an update from Roxio -Toast Titanium 10, V8 to V9. Once installed i tried to open it and got the message:  "Toast Titanium can't be opened because it is from an unidentified developer." I've updated previous versions while using Snow Leopard with no problem - it worked perfectly before the update - does anyone know what's going on here?

Navigate to System Prefrences - Security and Privacy and select the box I've pointed to below:

  • Toast Titanium Issue

I have been working on a project transfer 8 home video VHS tapes to DVD. I completed the project, and burned 4 DVD+R discs using DVDSP3. However, the client needs the discs to be DVD-R, so I told her I could take the 4 discs back and simply duplicate them onto a DVD-R. I inserted the first disc into my iMac, and a blank into an external burner. I opened Toast Titanium 7 and clicked the Copy button. The RAM Cache filled, and began to burn, but about half way through the burn, I received the error message ""I/O Error - Or your disc may be copy-protected - Error Code: -36". I have already deleted the original files from my computer, and the only usuable material I would have left are on the discs. How should I proceed?

Have you tried "Mac the Ripper"?
    http://www.macupdate.com/info.php/id/14414
Select "Full Disk Extraction" and then open Toast and use the "Video_TS" option with the file it creates. That should make an exact copy of the disk. It's an extra step for the first one, but you should be able to burn the other 3 right after without issue.
    Hopefully this works.
