TOC based on filenames rather than heading names.

I created a WebHelp project by linking to a FrameMaker 12 book. After first generating the output, the TOC and index were not included although they were part of the book. I click an icon in the TOC pod to generate the TOC, but the TOC is now based on filenames rather than heading names. How can I fix this?

You should be posting over in the FM Integration section – you’ll need to adjust your Conversion settings and force an update to suck in the FM TOC and IX

Hi. I have a number of users asking this question. On their Mac, when trying to "Save As", how do they get to sort the contents of the target folder by "Kind" rather than by "Name". The default way results in a muddled display of files and folders. It would be nice to Have all the folders listed, and then the file names. (See below)
In Finder, I have this button,
enabling me to get the desired result.

Sorry, I should have mentioned, the 'save as' is from Word, Excel etc. In Text editor, I see the Kind header, but it is just a lable, not an active column.
It can be done in Excel also.

Sorting contacts on iphone by company rather than individual names

has anyone seen an application that will sort the contacts by company name rather than the individual names?

You can't sort your contacts by anything but name directly on the phone, but a little work on the computer can give a result that might work. I create groups in my contact manager that syncs to the iPhone. I can put people from different businesses in different groups. That way I can choose a specific group to look through, rather than all the contacts. It also works to separate out family and friends, etc. But you can't create the groups on the phone, only on the computer, and then sync them to the phone.

Why is my iPhone called "iPhone" rather than my name ex: Cynthia's iPhone?

I recently had my iPhone 5s replaced and the replacement phone's name is just "iPhone" rather than personalized with my name, such as "Cynthia's iPhone"
As a matter of fact my old defective iPhone 5s was only referred to as "iPhone" also. If anyone knows why this is I would appreciate the help. My old backups (from my old iPhone) are still listed in iTunes and are referred to as Cynthia's iPhone, but new phone is just called iPhone?

[SOLVED] ls -l shows GID rather than group name

Hi Guys,
As the title suggests, ls -l shows GID rather than the group name. (The username is listed correctly). The groups command also shows only GIDs and not the corresponding group names.
I have issued the pwconv, grpconv, pwck and grpck commands and these all run without error.
What am I missing here?
Any ideas much appreciated.

Thanks very much Celf, you were correct, the /etc/group file was only readable by root. The chmod 644 fixed it.

Just updated my iPhone and when I now send a message it shows as my email address rather than name. What's the quick fix for this problem?

Can character tracking based on centers, rather than edges?

I would like to space characters in a line of text evenly, based on their centers, such that the letters in two rows of text would be horizonatally aligned, regardless of the letters used. I know I could convert to outlines, and then space objects evenly, but I would like to avoid that if possible.

Thanks, tonyharmer and Mike. Yes it is a small amount of text - the 26 letters of the alphabet, however it's more complicated that what I described in my first post. I'm creating a simple cipher tool that will consist of two concentric circles of paper, one slightly larger than the other, with the letters of the alphabet printed on the outer edge of each. Lining up different letters from the inside and outside circles creates the code.
To acheive this, I created the circles, used type on a path to enter the letters and set the justification to full. I can get the starting and ending letters to line up perfectly, but they get off due in the middle due to the varying widths of letters.
Can tabs be positioned relative to each other, such that I would be able to spread out 25 of them across a line, even if the line length changes? I guess what I need is tabs positioned by degrees of a circle, (probably not a feature in high demand.)
If I converted the text to outline, could I evenly distribute the letters around the circle?

How can I organize my music by filename rather than alpha

One thing that kept me from getting an iPod was that I really don't like iTunes app. Why can't it work like a typical directory structure? Anyway, you can sort your music by the song title or 25 other methods, NONE OF WHICH ALLOWS SORTING BY THE FILENAME. Since many of my files are live shows that are named and numbered in order, and intended to be listened to in order performed as preferred.

iTunes doesn't care about the filename. There's no way to change this.
iTunes organizes music based on the ID3 tags within the audio file itself.
If you want to change the way that you music is organized within iTunes, then the only way to do this is to modify the tags.
I know there's plenty of scripts available to us Mac users to make all sorts of modifications to ID tags based on the filename... but I don't know if there's anything available for Windows users.
Might be worth looking into.

Can we generate fields dynamically in ADF based on rows rather than columns

I am using Jdev 11.1.1.2.0 and ADF 11g.
I have a role table which will define the type of role that can be assigned to user.
So say I have
Table : tbl_rol with values
rol1
rol2
rol3
I have a screen where I will let user to enter user details and the roles that the user can play. So this screen will have
UID (this will be hidden from user and will be generated using sequence)
name:
DOB:
height:
rol1 [] rol2 [] rol3 [] ( here [] means a checkbox on the screen)
On save I will save the user details in say tbl_usr and the roles in tbl_usr_rol
So now say user selects rol1 and rol3 in tbl_usr_rol
I will have 2 records uid1 + rol1 and uid1 + rol3.
So now at any given point if rol4 is added in tbl_rol then on adding a new user I will automatically add a field in my user entry screen showing
UID (this will be hidden from user and will be generated using sequence)

You should think of the component to use to display the roles a user has. Sure you can use a check box component, but what if you app has 100+ roles defined?
We use a select shuttle component to do this.

JAXB looking for tag type rather than tag name?

Hi everyone.
I'm trying to use JAXB to load an xml file, [http://www.unimod.org/xml/unimod.xml|http://www.unimod.org/xml/unimod.xml] . The schema is at [http://www.unimod.org/xmlns/schema/unimod_2/unimod_2.xsd|http://www.unimod.org/xmlns/schema/unimod_2/unimod_2.xsd] . I generate my classes using xjc with no problems. My unmarshalling code is simple enough:

}At first I got an exception saying that unimod (the top-level tag) is unexpected and that the expected element is (none). I solved this by adding the @XmlRootElement tag into my UnimodT class. Now I am getting a javax.xml.bind.UnmarshalException :
"unexpected element (uri:"http://www.unimod.org/xmlns/schema/unimod_2", local:"unimod"). Expected elements are <{http://www.unimod.org/xmlns/schema/unimod_2}unimodT>"
I am guessing this means that it is looking for a <unimodT> tag while the actual tag name is <unimod>.
This is how the xml file starts:

I seem to have solved my problem by adding the namespace and name of the tag on the XmlRootElement annotation:
@XmlRootElement(name="unimod",namespace="http://www.unimod.org/xmlns/schema/unimod_2")however I still don't understand
1) why it's not enough to specify the name of the tag in the @XmlType annotation
2) why the @XmlRootElement tag was not specified automatically
I guess I should just be happy that it works now.

SPD Current Item URL to include web address rather than host name

When I dcreate an SPD list workflow and include a link to the current item URL the web address gets replaced with the hostname. For example:
I expect to see:
http://mycompany.com.au/sites/corp/xxx/Lists/MyRegister/DispForm.aspx?ID=12
but we get
http://perspxxx99/sites/corp/xxx/Lists/MyRegister/DispForm.aspx?ID=12 (perspxx99
is the hostname)
If requierd I can craft the URL however wondering if there's a way to make the default point to the machine name.

Hi, it's maybe happening the same here!
I have an iphone 3gs. Since I did the upgrade to ios5, when I receive an sms with the notification of a missed call I am no longer able to see if it's coming from a number of my contact list, because in the sms the message correspondence for that contact underlines now the number PLUS the first 2 cifres of the date! So the number results always being 2 numbers longer and it's impossible get to the original.
That's really a major problem for me, as I'm no longer able to know who has called me, if someone I know (and who) or if a new number.
I add a capture to explain it better (I have banned a couple of cifres for privacy reasons).
Anyone solved the problem or can help please?

I have a yahoo account synced with my iPad. When i compose and send an email the receiver sees an email from 'Yahoo' and not my name? Why is this and how do i or can I change this so that it appears as from me?

The way to change what ever people see when they get your email is to set up your email the way you want to. '''Modzilla''' defaults to the name that you use for your computer.
