TOC Generation Not Recognizing Style in RTF Output

I am having a problem generating TOC where my rtf template contains grouping of data. I tried using style TOC1 and Header 1 in my template but this formatting does not get carried through to my output result when I try to PREVIEW on the desktop. Am I making some wrong assumption on the use of the TOC capabilities or do I need to do something different in the rtf template for TOC generation.
Thanks In Advance,
Tom

I fixed the TOC problem on the grouping .... I didn't read the spec with enough detail. When DEFINING the data element to be included in the TOC, it CANNOT BE in a FORM FIELD !!!! I just seemed to miss that little fact. It is now working with grouping/sub grouping

  • IPod Touch 3rd generation not recognized in iTunes

I just recently upgraded my Macbook software to version 10.6.3 because I purchased an iPod shuffle and the newest version of iTunes would not install with my old software. Now my iPod Touch 3rd generation is not being recognized by the newest version of iTunes (10.2). I have already restarted my computer, and shut it down and removed the battery for a minute before starting it up again. None of these things worked. This is the first time I have tried to sync my iPod touch since installing the new software so I am not sure what I need to do.

It sounds like this may be the fix:

I have a 5th generation ipod nano, music suddenly vanished, not sure why. Tried to download music from itunes, but the device is not comming up on itunes. Any ideas?

I'm not pluging it into the wrong port b/c I have a PC so its clear what port I'm putting it into, the ipod is chargining, and the video's are coming up, but the ipod is not syncing, I don't know what to do.

  • IPod 1st generation not recognized on mac

Why can't I get any help with my iPod 1st generation? I DO NOT BELIEVE this is just a coincidence that my old iPod stopped working the minute I installed the newest iTunes. I have talked to apple and they say that it is my old ipod which is no longer under warranty. Are they kidding? Do they think I'm just going to go out and buy a new iPod?

I have downloaded the Shuffle Reset Utility but it
does not recognized my iPod. I have switch USB ports
numerous times. restarted my computer numerous times
and had an online chat with an agent at Apple that
lasted about 4 hours and I still can't get my iPod to
    work.
I had no problems with my ipod until I downlaoded the
new itunes. My Shuffle 1st generation is 18 months
old and no longer under warranty. Am I supposed to
buy a new iPod everytime Apple updates their software?
Given that the warraty ran out on it 6 months ago, and you appear to not have extended it through AppleCare, you're out of luck UNLESS you can resucitate your Shuffle.
ALL Of the things you've stated as having done don't include enough detail to let anyone HERE help you. Grousing about a dead Shuffle isn't giving us much of a foundation to work on.
NOW, does it charge (front LED lights orange) while plugged into a USB port? IF NOT, does it charge in a USB port on another computer? IF NOT... it D e a D.

  • Ipod nano 5th generation not recognized by itunes

I just got a new iPod nano and when I connect it, nothing happens. Itdoes not appear in the device list in iTunes. The nano screen says it is connected but I didn't get to even set it up in itunes. I've tried everything on the apple site - uninstalled itunes and then reinstalled, reset the ipod. I just can't restore because the apple site says I need to do that through iTunes, but I can't b/c it's not showing up in the device list. VERY FRUSTRATING!!

  • Ipod shuffle 2nd generation not recognized

Just aquired an ipod 2nd generation shuffle at a yard sale. Plugged it in and I get flashing lights (sorry, color blind and I can't tell if they are green or orange).
Shuffle is not recognized by computer with either disk mode or in iTunes. Downloaded the restore program and it says waiting on ipod.
I followed directions to reset shuffle to no avail. iPhones and iPads work fine. Tried different USB ports to no avail. Restarted computer, etc. The only think I haven't tried is a new charging/computer cable. I don't have a spare for the shuffle.
    Any suggestions?

Well, this has been a real puzzle and I appreciate your advice.  I tried everything you suggested, everything I could find in other posts, everything I could read on Apple support and troubleshooting pages and nothing made a difference.  I pretty much gave up and decided to leave it alone for a few days and I don't know what happened, but all of a sudden things changed when I tried again.  My Mac was on, the Ipod was off, I plugged it into the Mac (and the yellow light started blinking but no iPod showed up on the desktop or in iTunes), then shut the Mac down for a few minutes and left the iPod off and plugged in.  When I turned the Mac back on I noticed that the only items in the dock that were "on" or "active" were the Finder and iTunes so I double clicked on iTunes and watched in amazement as it welcomed me to my "new iPod."  I followed the on-screen directions and the iPod appeared on the desktop and in iTunes at long last and I was able to download two audiobooks successfully.   I don't get it but I'm not looking a gift horse in the mouth.  I'm writing all this here in case some other poor soul is struggling with the same problem and has not yet tried all the steps described in these 9 posts.  Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

  • IPod generation not recognized in iTunes

My iPod isn't recognized as being fifth generation when I plug it in. The summary page of the iPod in iTunes has a n/a under the categories of serial number and software version. This deletes all the video from my ipod when I eject it as well as not allowing me to get to my music (even though my music is still on there). It simply displays "All" when I try to go to my music then there is nothing when I click that.
In order to get my computer to recognize my ipod I have to keep unplugging it and plugging it back in and it takes forever to recognize it.
Also, when I have tried to fix the problem by restoring it, when it puts the music back on it comes up with "the disk cannot be read from or written to" I have no idea what to do. Please help.

  • IPod Touch 4th Generation not recognized in iTunes 12

Before iTunes 12, I would always be able to sync my 32 GB 4th Gen iPod Touch (iOS 6.1.6) with no problem at all. After the upload, it is no longer recognized by iTunes. It's connected, but the iPod icon is nowhere to be found. I restarted my laptop, but the same problem occurs. Can I get some help with this issue. Thank you.

  • IPod Shuffle second generation not recognized by my computer

    I wish somenone can help.
Since I have bought my iPod, I was never able to connect it to my computer or any other computer (all PC's using Vista or XP). Always the same message "USB device not recognized". I have the latest iTunes version (8.0.0.35) and cannot find the trace of the iPod there too (logical indeed as the device is not recognized by the system).
While checking the USB port it says that the driver is not installed for this device (still the port works fine).
I just don't know how to charge the battery, connect my iPod and start using it. Is it a default from the factory or else...?
    Thank you for your help.

    Hi all,
So I was downloading songs off of LimeWire (shame on me, i know, but i had no money in the itunes store and i dont use my dads credit card for song purchases), and i put a song on my ipod shuffle 2G and it immediately disconnected from the computer. When I reconnected it to the dock, it did not appear in the "Devices" section of the iTunes sidebar, or in finder. It still plays music fine, and charges, but I would like to clear the songs off of it as I am giving it away. However, it doesnt show up in iTunes or in disk utility as another post elsewhere suggested, and the ipod resetter can't find it. So, does this sound like a virus or corrupted song file? I dont think it was, as whenever I download a corrupted song from limewire, the computer alerts me and doesnt allow the file into iTunes. any thoughts? help?
    thanks
You might do better in the iPod forum.
With Limewire you get more than you pay for.

  • Why does InDesign 5.5 not recognizing tags from text output from Filemaker 11?

We just upgraded all of our computer and servers at the office. We were using OS 9 operating system with QuarkXpress and Filemaker 5. In the process of deciding on the route to go with upgrades we decided to go ahead and switch to InDesign instead of continueing with Quark.
The problem is that we run a database inside of Filemaker Pro and we output text into our Quark files well now with InDesign I can not for the life of me figure out why our tags are not being recognized by InDesign. I have reviewed every option when placing the text file and have not seen anything that will fix it. In Quark when you import text you have the option to click a box and it will let you import with style sheets. I have set up the same paragraph styles in InDesign and it still doesn't work.
Does anybody have any clue what might be happening? Any help would be appreciated, I need something to just get started on trying to fix this issue. It is a major issue due to the fact that I work for a classifieds newspaper and I need this text weekly. I have spent way too much time on this already and I am still in the same boat as I was when I started.
Thank you in advance for your help!

One assumes there is some existing software generating this stuff.
John is absolutely correct when he says that it would be a simple set of find/replace operations; if you are savvy enough to be able to get a total count of the number of tags used in your output, and if you can automate a single find/replace operation, then you can figure out how much it costs you to roll your own Quark-tags-to-Indy-tags solution and compare it against the cost of the software.
I was really referring more to the abstract. In the concrete, I guess I assumed we would find whatever was generating the XPress tags and change it to generate InDesign Tagged Text. It's just a matter of finding a few static strings and changing them... it's not like there are any changes to *logic*...
Personally, I'm a strong believer in Fixing It Right. yeah, $400 is cheap, but it's a lame patch to the problem. You shouldn't be using XPress Tags in InDesign, might as well move your automation over to doing it the InDesign way. (Unless, of course, there's an advantage to XPress Tags. And there are a few, as David's article points ut.)
However, I can't tell if he's being genuine or not; if you didn't notice that Quark tags and Indy tagged text are not the same format, then you probably don't have the in-house scripting capability to write your own converter. If you have that expertise in-house, then go for it. For my own part, I am such a slow scripter that paying someone else a few hundred bucks will invariably be cheaper than writing my own. Of course, if I didn't have any money to spend then I'm sure that I'd become a faster scripter quire rapidly.
I was serious, but I wasn't advocating a converter. That adds an extra step to the workflow, and it's also ugly. Just fix whatever makes the XPressTags to do IDTT instead.
There's something funny about the guy from the non-profit telling other people to spend money, I can't quite put my finger on it though :-).
