Do you have iCloudn contacts on for it? Do you have any other devices that have iCloud on and someone accidently deleted the contacts from that device?
My friend's son did that to their iPod but had contacts on.

Time machine is trying to back up more then the drive has on it
I'm doing an intial backup on a fresh Time Machine drive ... my computer has 1.66TB of files there are no external drives etc selected. Time Machine wants to back up 1.98TB !!!! It wants MORE then the drive has on it !!!!!
How is this possible ... Crazy stuff !Time Machine will require about 200 TB of free space.
Unfortunately, a new 2 TB drive will not have exactly 2 TB of free space. so that is where the problem is arising.

It is confusing now with the change from v5 utility which recorded capacity in binary bytes to the v6 utility which records digital bytes.
So the same drive looks different on both. But the computer is going to always use binary bytes.
Older v5 utility.. shows capacity. 2.7TB. That is standard binary value for a 3TB drive. Always sold with numbers as inflated as possible.. ie digital bytes..

In v6 utility.
We discover the disk has more free space than the v5 utility says when it is formatted... and empty.

Sir, your Apple ID can be used as an iCloud account as well. They are both the same thing.

If you have restored to factory settings and started as new, there is nothing more that you can do on your own. Make an appointment at an Apple Store and ask them for help. You might have a hardware problem and the Apple Store techs will be able to determine that.

As Guido said, you can use BootCamp to partition the drive. If you want to install, or reinstall Windows. You would launch BootCamp and it will actually guide you through the installation, you will only need to decide how large a partition you want. I would use BootCamp, I would not use disk utility. When you have installed Windows and you want to boot into windows, when you start your MBP hold down the option key, this will give you trha option of booting Mac OSX or Windows.

I just set up my Apple TV. I'm able to watch netflix's for about 15 minutes then the video goes black but I still have audio.

I had no problem connecting to my network and now all of a sudden I can't connect my iPad. Instead of prompting me for a password it comes back and says unable to join the network ("name") and then the option is Dismiss. Anyone else have that problem? I've gone thru all my settings and can't seem to find a way to log into my network. Don't get the option to put in my password. It just give me the name of my network and option of dismiss instead of password.

There may be something going on with your ownership if the Trash if the files aren't deleting. OK, let's try this:
Launch Terminal (found in Applications>Utilities folder). At the $ prompt, type (or paste):
ls -la
and hit Return. In the right hand column, you should see .Trash listed and to the left, you will see the "owners" name (in my case, clintondyches). If the owners name shows as root then the following will fix the problem. At the same $ prompt enter
sudo chown yourusername .Trash
(replace yourusername with your actual user name - such as mine being clintondyches).
At the prompt $ again, type or paste:
ls -la
If this was successful, you should see yourusername instead of root.
You should be in business now. You should have ownership of .Trash and be able to empty your Trash, drag items to it and empty it, etc.

You know, I don't know much of computers and of technology but when I bought that ipod back when they came out 2005 I was able to download music from my CDs and from Youtube to itunes then transfer to my ipod and back and forth to itunes . Then if I had changed of computer I was able to transfer to that new computer.Why I'm not able to do it ? There is a program(Sharepod) that allow to do that but it cost $35.00 but I thought that was free or it is because that now I have to buy from itunes only?

Sorry to hear you are having a similar problem. Last night I went to the tool bar at the top of iphoto, clicked on "File", then clicked "Browse Backups" in the drop down menu. I have an external hard drive that is set up to Time Machine. The Browse Backups opened the iphoto pages in the Time Machine. I selected a date one day ahead of the day I performed the now infamous update, and it showed my iphoto library as it had existed that day. I then clicked "Restore Library" at the bottom right corner of the Time Machine screen. Roughly 2 hours later my iphoto was back to normal. When I opened iphoto there was a message saying I need to upgrade my program to be compatible with the new version of iphoto(version 9.2.1). I clicked "Upgrade" and within seconds it had done whatever upgrading it needed to do.
The only glitch in the restoration was that it restored the library as it appeared last week, so I no longer had photos I had imported this past weekend. I simply went back to the Browse Backups in the drop down menu, when Time Machine opened I selected the page showing my pictures from this weekend and again said to Restore Library. Roughly 45 minutes later the library was restored including the most recent photos.
I am now a happy camper.
I don't know if any of this will be of help to you because your email says you are having trouble with photos imported after the upgrade was performed. Have you had any pop up notices when you first open iphoto, that tell you you need an upgrade to be compatible with the new iphoto? If so have you clicked "upgrade"?
Good luck Liz, if you have Time Machine running as a back up to your library, maybe you wil be able to get help there, by following my instructions above. Otherwise, good luck with your investigations. I'd be interested in hearing how you make out.

That is very strange! Have you been able to get your apps icons back now? Have you attempted a soft reset by holding the power button and home button at the same time until the phone restarts? Keep me posted with the results!

Please read this: Adobe Lightroom - Find moved or missing files and folders
You do not want to be in the Import section of Lightroom, you want to be in the Library Module. You don't want "Update Folder Location", you want to ctrl-click on a Folder name (not in Import, but in the Library Module Folder Panel) and select "Find Missing Folder"
You do not want to re-import photos that have already been imported, this is almost always a bad thing to do. -

hi there heres one for you all. is it possable to get more little functions on the iphone i.e more buttons?????? i have seen in a shop why i brought my iphone from, a customer showed me his and he had 2 and a half pages full of things, i recon this is illagal?? or does apple after some time allow you to down load new buttons to your iphone? after becoming a good customer?
