Yesterday my phone restored itself. Using a backup that was made a month ago I had no way to stop other than to unplug the phone. Which wipped the phone completely and then when I plugged it back in all it would do is use the old backup again. So I have lost all the photos, messages and everything else that I have made in the last month. Which as this is a business phone is not exactly helpful. What do you mean it "restored itself". It can't do that. User interaction is required to initiate that.
Did you not have a recent backup of it? If not, then the data is gone.

I had all of my video files that I work on in iMovie saved to an external hard drive exclusively to save space on my Macbook. I had just finalized a project, went to work on another one and files couldn't be found, were not deleted how do I find them?

The other day I had just finalized a project and went to work on another one and when I opened the project I could see what should have been there, but scrolling over the entire clip I would only see black and that the file was missing. I did not drag anything on the hard drive to the trash or move anything. How can I get those files? These are videos of my kids and I am devastated and willing to try anything!

Control click does not work - no option to find files. I have no idea what to do. When I look at the usage of the external drive the space is being used, but I cannot find the files. I am going to try MacKeeper's Undelete and see if I can make any progress with it.

All you have to do is connect your new iPod to the computer that has the library for your old iPod.
When iTunes comes up, click on your new iPod under Devices.
At the top of the Summary Page click Music.
Click Synch Music.
Do the same thing for Photos, Apps, Movies and so on...
Now just synch the iPod.

- Transfer other music by using a third-party program like on of those discussed here:
newer copy
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup.
Note that the iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.

If you still have the crashed Win computer, you may be able to recover your music and movies from the hard drive. If you have a friend with a hard drive USB connection kit and a PC, they should be able to help. Otherwise, check locally for computer services that might do that for you (I think Best Buy Geek Squad may be able to help). If the drive itself is in good shape, it shouldn't be too expensive.

Computer crashed. Had to rebuild. Everthing loaded and working properly except itunes. Operating System Windows 7, Home Premium. Itunes was downloaded and installed. Itunes will open, but not connect to internet. No itunes store, CD artist, name of songs.

I had all of my important file in my locked folder and now the app is missing and it is no longer available on the App Store.

Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

can you provide a bit more info before you do anything.
I'm presuming this is a pop mail account - please confirm.
First, make sure hidden files and folders are visible:
The AppData folder is folder is a hidden folder; to show hidden folders, open a Windows Explorer window and choose "Organize → Folder and Search Options → Folder Options → View (tab) → Show hidden files and folders".
* Help > Troubleshooting Information
* click on 'show folder' button
* click on 'Mail' folder.
* Please post image of the contents of the 'Mail' folder.
In thunderbird:
* right click on mail account name and select 'Settings'
* Select 'Server Settings' for the mail account
* Look bottom right for 'Local directory'.
* Put mouse cursor in the text box, then use keyboard arrow keys to navigate to the far right..some of the directory will be hidden as it does not fit it all in, so keep going to the right until you reach the end.
* Then left click, hold down and move mouse to the left to highlight the entire entry.
* Right click on highlighted area and select Copy.
* Paste info into this question in the forum.

Thanks Kurt! I had tried all that and had tried closing both programmes from the application monitor, but SyncServices Agent refused to close. I tried closing Launchd which is their mother application, but that just caused the screen go go blank. In the end the two programmes let themselves be closed next time I tried the installation process so all was well. Thanks for your help!

I had the same issue.I did what is adviced here and resolved the problem.I will explain it here step by step once again.
1-)Go to Set up--->General---->Restrictions in your iphone and turn it off completely.
2-)Turn off your iphone completely and turn it on again after a short waiting.
3-)Connect your iphone to your computer and open itunes
4-)Go to your iphone in itunes and select applications window there
5-)Heyyooo,there they are,no grayed out applications.
6-)Do whatever you want to with your applications.

I don't think you understood what I wrote. You don't HAVE to pay for everything if you are happy with using the other account for updates, etc. But if you don't want to do that then you will have to buy new copies of everything for the new account. There's only one purchase item per account, but you can redownload an item in the account many times.
The idea is this:
One computer, multiple devices, one Apple ID.
One user, multiple devices, one Apple ID.
The basic idea is that each user has an Apple ID under which he/she can manage multiple devices on a single computer.
Once you step outside of that model you create such problems as not being able to use or update apps purchase under one Apple ID when using a different Apple ID. Or not being able to easily sync one device on more than one computer.

Did you delete the library ?
If no, press the Option/alt key when you open iTunes and you should see a message and be able to choose a library.
