Today only, Stocks and Weather incredibly slow...

Getting info for either app is taking far longer than usual and has occurred on 2 Touch's we own, with no other wifi apps affected. Anyone else notice that today, Stocks and Weather are very slow to update? They are taking about 15-25 seconds instead of the usual 3-6 seconds.

The problem has resolved itself. Apparently there were server issues.

Hey gang-
Just upgraded my 1st gen iPod Touch to 3.0. Safari and Mail work fine, so networking and wifi are all good. But the Stocks and Weather apps won't update...the progress spinner just goes continuously. Anyone else seeing this?

hmm. good spot. although i'm sure my weather app worked earlier today when i tried it.

Ipod touch apps "stocks" and "weather" will no longer update data.

the apps on my Touch "stocks" and "weather" have failed to update since 1-30-10.
I have done a full "restore" and reloaded all other apps and music files but these 2 apps still fail to update? could it be the new software package? Both apps are "powered by yahoo"

I'd wonder if for some reason your ability to contact that yahoo widget is failing....
Did anything recently occur?
I've had this happen breifly in the past, but that was resolved once the yahoo services came back online.
It's strange, but as long as you have internet connection and the yahoo services can respond (saying that its not blocked by your ISP, WLAN, or other services) it should update.

Notification Center - Stocks and Weather

Stocks and weather are not showing up in my notification center. Even in Settings there is not an option for it. What is going on? Location services are on.

I'm having the same issue. Comparing my phone to my bosses phone, I am missing three sliders. One for stocks, one for reminders, and one for tomorrow summary. We both have the same iPhone 5. Picture below shows my issue. My phone is on the left.
Any ideas?

The next question will be what weather and stock apps will display data in Notifications similar to an iPhone. Sure there are lots of apps available but nothing I found will duplicate the features found on the iPhone.

I tried finance.yahoo.com for stock. I prepared a sample file in which I used 'trace' to see the response. However I can't see any XML data.
I have attached both .fla and .swf files. Could you please check did I miss anything in the actionscript part?

I am in need of a weather and stock widget, similiar to the ones on the iphone 4s, that allow you to display current stocks and weather in the notification window but i need it for the ipad2.

the iphone 4s came with a weather and a stock widget. these could be configured in notifications to CONSTANTLY display stock prices and the days weather whenever you pulled down the notification window. the ipad2 doesn't have these programs and i have spend a small fortune and time looking for this same feature. does anyone out there know off a weather and stock program that will let you program stocks into the notification window and then stream the stocks and prices acrossthe screen continously when you open the notification window. Also does anyone know of a weather program that will display the days current conditions ALL THE TIME, not just when the wind picks up or it snows.
the ipad2 doesn't have these built in programs and i can't find similiar ones in the app store.

Wifi and iTunes incredibly slow since Yosemite

interesting it posted this as a unique problem.. my wifi and iTunes are incredibly slow on my 17" macbook pro since the yosemite update. was taking 20 minutes to download a movie from iTunes now it's 8 plus hours and iTunes is sooooooo slow. what's up? how do i fix it?

Do a backup, preferably 2 separate ones on 2 separate drives.

If you do revert, I'd use Setup Assistant to restore your data. This process takes a while, so do it when you won't need the computer for several hours, based on my experience.

Im working with 13 psd images in Motion right now and its incredibly slow!

every little thing Im doing is beach balling and its incredibly frustrating. What can I do in my settings to optimize Motion's performance? Im just creating a simple camera move through my images but its almost impossible with the speed its currently working in.

Since a lot (if not all) of the work is done solely on your Graphics Card, size of ANY picture does matter! Make them as small as possible. This also means that adding Memory to your computer does not help solve this problem...

HT4628 My Mac mini has decided to continuously drop off my wifi network and is incredibly slow to open a web page. Wifi is working perfectly with other devices.

Hi my Mac mini will not stay on the network today and is slower than a pc to lad a web page.
I've followed various suggestions off the web and still have the same problem. 1 second the network is available and working slow and the next it says in network diagnostics that ISP has failed. The router is fine as I'm using an iPad and iPhone and all is working perfectly at +5 Mbps however when I try to open yahoo in safari it take about 5 minutes to open the page and then when I try to create a new mail I get the same Tim delay and then can't enter a send to address!
I've never managed to sort out email either but it not for a lack of trying about 30 different suggestions.
I'm fairly new to mac and am getting very very frustrated with not being able to solve these problems.
Can anyone please steer me towards a step by step or screen by screen resolution please please please help?

Please answer as many of the following questions as you can. You may already have answered some of them; in that case, there's no need to repeat the answers.
Restart your router and your broadband device, if they're separate. Any change?
If possible, connect to your router with an Ethernet cable and turn off Wi-Fi. Any difference?
Are any other devices on the network, and if so, are they the same?
If you can connect to more than one network, are they all the same?
Are all network applications affected, or only some? If only some, which ones?
Is networking always the same, or is the problem intermittent?
Disconnect all other devices from the network. Any change?
Boot in safe mode and test. Any difference?
If possible, turn off Bluetooth and disconnect any USB 3 devices. Any difference?

My mac freezes and is incredibly slow

I have a one-year-old Macbook Pro that is 15 minutes out of support coverage. It is the worse Mac I've owned in over 20 years. It is without question the S L O W E S T mac I've ever owned. I am running OS X 10.9 with 16 GB of memory.
Press the start button, here are some times I experience.
1:55 until the password screen appears
3:15 I get a message to log onto iCloud. I've never used iCloud and don't have an account.
6:00 The desktop and Dock appear.
7:00 The first application may be usable.
Applications crash all day long. Firefox is the worst. I spend a good part of the day watching the beach ball spin.
The Force Quit function rarely works.
Several times a day I must hold the power button down to forcibly shut down the computer because everything has frozen. I then have to press it again to restart.
I run Sophos anti-virus software and often run Disk Utility to verify the disk and repair permissions.
The Mac store people told me running Mountain Lion was much slower and now I cantestify Maverick is much worse.
Can Apple send me a 10.7 OS disk? Can I drop back to that OS and not lose everything on my computer?
Is Apple aware they have problems and are they trying to fix them?

Go to WSM Preferences/Transfer.

MacBook Pro and iMovie Incredibly Slow

So my MacBook Pro is excruciatingly slow. I keep getting hung up on iMovie in particular. Every time I move the curson just a centimeter the beachball comes on and starts a spinnin'. You cannot scroll throughout the movie project I am putting together any more.
I have 4 GB memory installed (the most the MacBook can take). I have 40.33 GB out of 159.18 free (according to my About This Mac information). I have used Disk Utility to Verify Permissions and Verify Disk and all come out saying all is ok. I have unplugged from the wall sockey and removed the battery and held the start button down and still I have an issue. The issue is with iMovie in particular, but all things are beachballing on me more than they used to. Download file is empty. I am not sure where to go next.
I am running Mac OS Lion 10.7.5. I have a 2.4 GHz Intel Core Duo processor. Just not sure what to do next. Any help?

ITunes movies downloads (rent and buy) incredibly slow

Hi,
trying to rent (and download) a movie from us itunes store: downloading speed is near 0, impossible to download anything, but the connection for other stuff is working normally...what is happening ? Anyone else with this problem ?

Windows 7 Ultimate (64-Bit) fresh install, only WLAN and video driver installed but EXTREMELY slow internet connection...

I recently checked my internet connection on my Asus G53SW and found that it was extremely slow on both the LAN and WLAN connections. I checked with a different laptop (old HP Pavilion) and I get a steady 74mbps+ connection using the same LAN cable and
also with the WLAN connection. My ISP has checked their side and everything is fine.
To try and resolve the issue I tried uninstalling, disabling and tweaking various software and even tried safe mode with networking, all to no avail. I then decided to do a complete fresh install this afternoon. I have installed Windows 7 Ultimate (64 bit)
successfully onto my SSD and everything went smoothly. I have now only installed Nvidia video drivers and the (only) WLAN driver from the Asus support site.
My WLAN connection remains incredibly slow (amost half what it is on the HP and my MacBook Pro). Clearly this is an issue with either the Asus laptop or Windows but I don't know how to proceed in order to eliminate which it could be other than to try a different
o/s to W7-Ult.
Can anyone help who knows more about this than me? Perhaps someone who has had a similar or the same problem because this is giving me a severe headache!

Thank you for responding. As I stated in my original post the reason I went through this process was because of an extremely slow internet connection from both the WLAN and LAN connections on my G53SW. At that time I had all of the correct drivers on the
machine. Whilst I would agree that with the machine only having a video and WLAN driver it may well not be working 'optimally', the rationale for doing this was to get the machine working with the minimum of processes to show that it was not anti-virsu software,
Steam or the like causing interference.
I have changed out both of the HDDs this evening (a primary SSD and a secondary 1Tb HDD) for a clean hybrid 1Tb Seagate drive. Once I have installed all of the Asus drivers (and nothing else) I will try the speed test again and report back.
I can now report that with a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 and ONLY Asus drivers as supplied the issue remains. On a connection where I should see around 75mbps I am actually getting around 18mbps, sometimes considerably slower. This only affects
my Asus machine.

You can not. This is only a feature of iOS. It would only be supported via the dashboard on OS X
