Today option in adding attachments

Hi all,
I'm very disappointed that the Today is no longer an option in the pull-down list of folders
when you are trying to attach a file (e.g. in an email message) in Mountain Lion.  I have tried using
All My Files, but this invariably hangs, so it's useless for me.  I used to use this option (Today
in the pull-down list of folders) multiple times every day before "upgrading" to Mountain Lion.
Now, I either have to copy the file to my desktop, to make it easy to find, or spend half a minute
clicking through a folder tree in the attachment dialog.
Please add Today back to the pull-down list of folders!!!
Does anyone have a good way of doing the same thing in Mountain Lion?  That is, a very
quick and easy way to find a list of files you have recently created or edited?
Thanks,
Owen Long

Thanks for the suggestion!  In case anyone else wants to know the procedure for how
to do it, here's what I did.
1) Go to finder
2) Under File, select New Smart Folder
3) Under File, select Find (or do command F)
4) Select "Last opened date" is within last 1 days.
5) Hit the + to add another criterion
6) Select "Last modified date" is within last 1 days.
7) add more criteria if you like
8) When you are done, click the Save button in the upper right hand side.
9) Give it a name.  You will probably want to keep the Add To Sidebar option selected.
Thanks again,
Owen

  • Adding attachments to an e-mailable form

I am creating a form that is to be filled out and then
submitted and sent to an e-mail. I want to make an option available
of adding attachments to the form being sent to the address but I
don't know how. Is this something that I will have to do in a .php
    code?

The type of thing you want is possible, but if it needs to work with Reader the document must be enabled by LiveCycle Reader Extensions so it includes the embedded file usage right.
The best you can do with a file that's been Reader-enabled with Acrobat is to manually attach a file as a comment. A button can be used to display instructions, but that's it. There is also the licensing restrictions that come into play when you enable with Acrobat.

  • Can you customize what folder MAIL goes to when adding attachments?

Can you customize what folder MAIL goes to when adding attachments?
My friend has 2 email addresses for businesses.
He has invoices in folders for both, and wants to set up the Mac like this:
When he writes from one email address and attaches documents - he want the Mac always to go to the corresponding folder for that company of his. Same for the other email address...
    Make sense?
    Can this be done?
    Thanks in advance....

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether your problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode* and log in to the account with the problem. The instructions provided by Apple are as follows:
Shut down your computer, wait 30 seconds, and then hold down the shift key while pressing the power button.
When you see the gray Apple logo, release the shift key.
If you are prompted to log in, type your password, and then hold down the shift key again as you click  Log in.
*Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode. Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including wireless networking on certain Macs.  The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

  • Adding Attachments in the message

    Hi,
We have an Invoice IDoc to HTTP scenario. We need to add some attachment into the message we send to the HTTP receiver.
I just wanted to check what are the possible options for the Attachments(some excel file or other files)
Receiver needs the attachment in  "multipart MIME envelope"
    i.e  the document should have
    " Content-type: multipart/mixed; boundary=<Unique Boundary Name>"
with the actual payload XML and the attachment doc info separated by given boundary
Now I need to check the possible options for me to develop the solution to handle this scenario.
Since IDoc doesn't support attachment, I need to do it at PI's end after mapping and before sending the document
    to Receiver Adapter.
Please let me know your inputs.
    Thanks
    Vijay

You might have to create an output something similar to the one below (assuming you wanted to attach a JPEG file) :
    MIME-Version: 1.0
    Content-Type: multipart/mixed; boundary="MIME_BOUNDARY_UNIQUE_123"
    --MIME_BOUNDARY_UNIQUE_123
    Content-Type: text/xml
    <<<<<< XML PAYLOAD >>>>>>>>
    --MIME_BOUNDARY_UNIQUE_123
    Content-Type: image/jpeg
    Content-Transfer-Encoding: binary
    <<<<RAW JPEG IMAGE>>>
    --MIME_BOUNDARY_UNIQUE_123
Try out whether you can achieve this via ABAP mapping.

  • Adding attachments to the mail send from XI

    Hi all,
How can we add attachments to the mails send from XI?
    Regards,
    Satpreet Singh

    Hi
Do the Mail Receiver Adaptor Configuration as mentioned.
Choose any of the options suiting to your requirements. All the options shall give attachments in one way or the other.
    1) Choose Message Protocol   = u201CXIALLu201D
The mail will go to the address mentioned in Mail Attributes in the adaptor as two attachments. The file something like ATT123.xml will contains all the system information and another file u201CpayloadXXXu2026..xmlu201D will contain the input file you give.
    2) Message Protocol =   u201CXIPAYLOADu201D with u201CMail Packageu201D
If we check u201CKeep Attachmentsu201D in u201CMail Attributesu201D then, the content will be sent as an attachment otherwise, the content will be sent as body of the mail.
    3)Message Protocol =   u201CXIPAYLOADu201D without u201CMail Packageu201D
The content will go as attachment even though u201CKeep Attachmentsu201D is not checked. If u201CKeep Attachmentsu201D is not checked then the attached file name will be same as that of the subject we have given in the Subject in Mail Attributes.
If the checkbox u201CKeep Attachementsu201D is checked, then the attachment file name will be u201CPayloadXXXXu2026.xmlu201D irrespective of the input file name.

  • Adding attachments to Web Service call

    Hi
Does Bea's web service classes include support for adding attachments to the soap message sent by a web service?
How do I do it? or otherwise, how do I get through the abtraction down to the soap message so I can add it manually?
I have both a weblogic.webservice.core.rpc.StubImpl and a javax.xml.rpc.Service to work with, I'm guessing it's somewhere deep down in the context of the Service...?

  • Updated to the 7 version.  Under contacts there is no option for adding Notes.  How do you get it back?

I updated to the 7 version.  When you add a contact now, you no longer have the option for adding notes.   Also all the apps I purchased are  no longer on my desktop. The apps are shown under settings but I do not see where you can add them to the desktop.

I see notes under "add instant message" when you are setting up a new contact. Notes appears between "add instant message" and  "add field" .  Perhaps you didn't scroll down far enough.  This is on my iPhone 4 so I don't know about other phones.

  • Mavericks mail default location option for adding attachment

When I am writing an email and want to add an attachment, I have always used the paperclip icon to do so, and my desktop would appear as the default option as a place to select the attachment. Recently this has changed so that the default option still says 'desktop' on the side panel but instead displays my itunes library. If I go to my home then back to desktop my actual desktop is displayed, but I'm wondering why itunes is appearing as my desktop, and how I can fix this so that my default option for adding an attachment is my actual desktop.
    Thanks!

    I partially agree and disagree.
I agree with concerns but disagree as it is causing a bottleneck for agility and effectiveness addressing user needs.
"A picture is worth a thousand words" (and pictures come in a file).
If we are concerned about disk space, then I feel we need to provision hard disk space and nourish the SAP Community Network to be effective and improved.
For example:  Business Objects products often deals with reports and users often enquiry ways to cleverly use our tools.
Imagine how unproductive users find the forum messages when everyone is trying to describe what they see in their screens.  And how much misunderstanding happened among all those involved in the discussion of the thread.
It didnt' take me more than a few months to realize that users are all crying out for ways to add a descriptive image into their forum message.
Some are clever and add a link to an external location, some leave their email addresses and some leave their phone numbers!
The other challenge is for Chinese,Korean and Japanese language users.  An Asian user seeking for help is unable to describe properly in a foreign language to gain visibility for wider audience, often they are not familiar with the naming of the functionality in english because he/she may never have seen the menus in English.
I recently observed a user describing a problem there were 14 notes back and forth for a very simple matter, it took 3 days.  I believe a screenshot with a red circle would have helped in one shot.
I suggest files to be allowed and filters put in place distinguishing file formats to allow right content.

  • Options for adding 2nd video card to MacPro 1,1?

I want to add a second video card to my Mac Pro 1,1 so I can connect a third display.
I currently have a Radeon 4870 in the PCIe x16 slot, and the three other PCI x8 slots are still open.
What are my options for adding a second ATI card to one of the PCI x8 slots? Would prefer a Mac native card that doesn't require any flashing.
I'm running latest version of OS X Lion.
    Thanks,
    Robert

You have different ways of configuring the PCIe slots, but you don't have 16x along with 3 x 8x,
    One 8x
    One 4x
    One 1x
    One 16x
    Is normal setup.
Lots of choices, if you look on Apple Store <g> (5770), or ebay: 8800GT and other 3rd party vendors.
If the 4870 uses just one aux power cable, I'd get the 5770 as primary card.
The 5770 can drive 3 displays but depends on resolution and cost of dual-link DVI if req'd.

  • ICal crashing after adding attachments

    Hi folks,
Long time user of Mac here.
Recently, I have done something I have seldom done; adding attachments to my iCal. Some of these attachments are on the large size. iCal is now freezing and crashing to the point where iCal is not usable. I can't remove the files as iCal freezes before I hone in on any one day.
    Help!

I can no longer launch iCal 2.0.5 from my iMac G4. It crashes within seconds of launch. IPhone iCal application is only one that works. Deleted iCal, think I deleted all the preferences, Re-installed the application and it still crashes. Do I need to upgrade to OS10.5? I use mobileme to sync the calender, but iCal on G4 crashes on sync. Can't remember if this all started with new iPhone (had first generation previously). Have read all issues on this and none relate to my OS.
