I have lost all my bookmarks passwords profile etc after Firefox updated to the newest version today without asking me first. I liked what I had & several times a day it would say there are updates but I closed those popups or messages. Im now using the latest version just so I can have some use while I try to sort this out & get help.
I'm adding that I tried system restore several times .... & my last full backup.... but each time something was corrupted or would not launch or there was no '''.exe '''file in the program folder...Ive never seen this before, & the Mozilla backup I had was useless... it was unable to launch either

I did a system retsore to restore to a date 2 weeks ago. I have had firefox for 2 years on this computer. Since I did the restore firefox will nolonger open. I know i can download it again - but will have lost all my bookmarks etc. is there a way to get it all back?
Ubuntu/9.04 (jaunty) is an old version of Linux from 2009. You're gonna need to upgrade to a newer operating system to use a more recent version of Firefox.
My advice is to consult with the Ubuntu support forums to find out if your PC can support the latest version of Ubuntu, or if you should switch to a different "flavor" of Linux.

Firefox has been crashing all the time after I updated to the newest version. I tried to uninstalled firefox and all addons. Restarted the computer to reinstall Firefox and it's still crashing all the time. Please help.

Like i earlier stated .. after my update of the latest firefox [15.0.1] i found two of thesame versions of it on my program features so i decided to delete one. unluckily for my it cleaned out both and after reinstalling firefox i realised all my TAB folders, bookmarks, passwords and history was gone. this is very fustrating for me because most of the passwords are very important aswell as the links i bookmarked.
Any help whatsoever will be greatly appreciated or a number of a support team i could call for assistance?For starters i'm taken aback at the fact that there's no live or call support.
All this from a bug that could so easily have been avoided.
Its obvious that i chose remove personal data but i thought it would only remove the older version. And i have read ALL the older posts about this problem .. even downloaded recuva and did a DEEP scan of 5hrs atleast 3 times but each time i recieved the message below 'ran out of memory'

- I clicked cancel after like 3 hours of the deep scan and got a lot of file displays some firefox profiles too. When i did a normal scan of like a minute, some files did display but instead of like excellent most say unrecoverable.
# I REALLY wish there was a step by step on which drives or folders [eg. documents] hold those files to narrow the search. HOW DO I KNOW WHERE TO SEARCH.
# What name files i need to recover and when i recover where to save them?
# How to sync them back with my browser and make a backup
# Lastly is there even hope for my passwords or do i just need to go pay a technical worker to see if he can? :(

After updating to Firefox 9 I have lost all my Bookmarks and Add ons
Firefox updated it's self to version 9.0.1. When I opened Firefox all my bookmarks and add ons where gone.
I have searched the help section with no help.cor-el,
This turned out to be the root cause for my problem. Simply renamed the
places.sqlite.corrupt file to places.sqlite and my profile (including bookmarks) worked again. Thanks!
By the way, I first noticed that something was wrong with my _profile_ when, in addition to lost bookmarks, I noticed that I couldn't create _new_ bookmarks. Also was not able to restore bookmarks from a backup .json file. So I created a new profile, and was able to restore the bookmarks from the original profile's backup. That led me to exploring your suggestion. Thanks again! -
Fire fox has always been my preferred browser. I received a message that i needed to update Firefox. I did this and moved the icon to my application file as shown; noting only one of two steps was completed. there was no opportunity to do anything else. I opened it by clicking that i agreed it was an application from the internet. It worked that afternoon. I then turned off my computer, and now the old and the new mozilla firefox icons will not work. I have all my bookmarks on Firefox and need to use it constantly while I work; how do I get it back?!
You calendar info should also be mirrored on your computer. Use the option to replace all events on the iPod with the info on your computer during the next sync. You can find this option in the info pane, Advanced section.

As I have already explained, all my bookmarks have mysteriously disappeared. I tried the suggestions in Firefox's support page on lost bookmarks. No success.
In your C:\User folder, do you have a folder for your old account? Your Firefox data would have been in that folder:

while (about 2 days) before it first started bleating. I suppose if I
had to upgrade, it would be to the Mac version. Everything else I
have tried on Parallels works, even Steinberg's Wavelab, which I
thought would be an impossibility.
I shall persevere. I am just appalled at the level of support that
Adobe provides, plus the fact that their website just plain doesn't

I next tried importing the bookmarks.html file I created last year to export them to my new notebook. 3.6.12 fails to import them back again.
The home page set in my preferences does not now come up when I load FF.A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Upgraded to FF8 from FF7, still had huge memory issues. Running it on 32 bit Vista . Downgraded to 3.6, lost all bookmarks! then tried to upgrade to FF8, bookmarks still not there. Downgraded again to FF 3.6 as FF8 killing my memory.

After spending hours at the pc today i finally updated itunes
After doing this i updated my iphone 3gs to ios 5, it was backed up prior to the update.
i finally managed to update to ios 5 after about 5 attempts, but now i have no voicemails (which i need as i have a car insurance claim going through and that was my proof they were in the wrong!!) and no apps!!
When i first tried to resync my iphone to itunes it didnt recognise it but now it does.
Prior back up has DISSAPEARED!!!

Can anyone help me restore all my old contacts please?
I bought a new phone for my Daughter, set it up to my iTunes account as she is only 11 and all of my contacts synced to her phone, so we went in and deleted them all, problem was, they deleted off my phone over wifi apparently,,, not good I can't find a way to get them back
ThanksYou did more than sync the new iPhone with iTunes since syncing with iTunes does not include text messages.
The first time a new iPhone is connected to iTunes that is used to sync with another iPhone or iOS device, you are prompted to transfer the backup for the other iPhone or iOS device or set up the device as a new iPhone.
The former replaces all data on the iPhone that is included with the selected backup for the other iPhone or iOS device. The latter does not.
If a backup for your new iPhone was not created with iCloud or if created and has been updated since the backup was transferred from the other iPhone or iOS device, the previous data on the new iPhone is gone. -
Just finished updating web site, saved and published. Showed up on the internet finr, went back to do a few tweeks and all my days work is gone! Fine on the net gone in iweb! I don't want to loose the days work. Is there any way to get the website from the internet and stuffit back into iweb, without redoing all the work? Why didn't it save? Wjat can I do to prevent this happening again? Where did I go wrong?
Publish you site to a folder on your hard drive and open it locally with your browser. Check to see if the site is all there. If not
Try the following:
delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
launch iWeb and publish to the folder again.
If that doesn't help continue with:
move the domain file from your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder to the Desktop.
launch iWeb, create a new test site, save the new domain file and close iWeb.
go to the your Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and delete the new domain file.
move your original domain file from the Desktop to the iWeb folder.
launch iWeb and try again.
