Toggle usage of f keys

I have the Acer Aspire ATC-605-UB10.  I'm still using the keyboard that came with the computer.  Is there a way I can toggle the f keys so I don't have to hit the Fn key?  In other words, if I want to increase or decrease the volume, is there a way I can do that without having to hit the Fn key first?  Thanks

trebor8617, I couldn't figure it out either.  So I bought this logitech wireless keyboard/mouse combo and it has seperate buttons for volup,voldown,mute. http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Combo-Mk520-Keyboard/dp/B003VANO7C/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1437262941&sr=1-4 Edit: in the logitech photo, the top 3 buttons on upper right of keyboard are mute, voldown, volup.

  • Usage of reverse key index

    Hi,
Any body can explain the usage of reverse key index.
    Thanks and regards,

It could be an option if you have lots of inserts simultaniously (and I mean lots not 2 a second - rather 1000'ds).
If the index field comes like this 1000, 1001, 1002, 1003, 1004 etc etc then the very same index leaf blocks will be hit when using a "normal" index - if it is reverse, you will spread the IO load on many blocks - and might give a better performance. If reversed it will be 0001, 1001, 2001, 3001, 4001 instead (inserwise).
BUT .... be aware when using ... between, GT og LT on those reversed indexed fields - index skip scans are not possible - so you may sacrifice performance in the selects.
We have used it for audit records, where we had many many records being inserted from 20 simult. processes (java stuff), just reading off a jms queue and inserting. We had lots of waits - then we reversed index. And we do not have any appl. selecting the audit records.

  • Usage of Sorted Keys in standard tables

    Hi,
If I have a sorted secondary key (unique or non-unique) in my internal table, and use the secondary key with my DELETE statement (DELETE ... WITH TABLE KEY <secondary_key_name> COMPONENTS ... = ...), I still get a prio 2 checkman error saying possible sequential read. My question:
    1. What's the difference between usages of sorted key and a sorted table with regards to a READ statement?
    2. Would I still have to do a SORT on the standard table by the secondary key components and then do a BINARY search to avoid the possible sequential read? (in that case why should i mention the key to be "sorted"?
    Thanks in advance,
    Best Regards
    Anantharaman L

    Hi Anantharaman ,
When we define sorted secondary keys, we do not have to sort it explicitly and use a binary search. we just have to define the sorted secondary keys and read based on that keys. The read statement should be as follows:
    read TABLE <internal table>INTO <work area/field symbol>WITH KEY <secondary key name> COMPONENTS <comp1 = value>.
    eg : read TABLE lt_tab INTO lw_tab WITH KEY key_1 COMPONENTS carrid1 = 'CC'
    Complete Code :
    REPORT  YTEST.
    DATA: lt_tab TYPE YSTRU1_TT,
          lw_tab LIKE LINE OF lt_tab.
    lw_tab-carrid1 = 'BB'.
    lw_tab-connid =  '50'.
    APPEND lw_tab to lt_tab.
    lw_tab-carrid1 = 'ZZ'.
    lw_tab-connid =  '50'.
    APPEND lw_tab to lt_tab.
    lw_tab-carrid1 = 'WW'.
    lw_tab-connid =  '50'.
    APPEND lw_tab to lt_tab.
    lw_tab-carrid1 = 'AA'.
    lw_tab-connid =  '50'.
    APPEND lw_tab to lt_tab.
    lw_tab-carrid1 = 'XX'.
    lw_tab-connid =  '50'.
    APPEND lw_tab to lt_tab.
    lw_tab-carrid1 = 'CC'.
    lw_tab-connid =  '50'.
    APPEND lw_tab to lt_tab.
    CLEAR lw_tab.
    read TABLE lt_tab INTO lw_tab WITH KEY key_1 COMPONENTS carrid1 = 'CC'.
Note : Table type ystru1_tt is defined with a unique-sorted secondary key carrid1.
    Hope this will be helpful.
    Warm Regards,
    Jenny

  • NB305-N410 - What application/driver allows the usage of F# keys to toggle?

NB305-N410wh - What application or driver allows you to hit the function key with an "F#" key to toggle different functions listed on the F# keys? (For example, enabling/disabling wireless with FN + F8?)
I reinstalled my system from the ground up, created the flash drive that contains all the toshiba drivers and apps, but can't seem to find the one that controls this functionality.

    Hi zathrak,
    Which OS you are using?
If you use Windows 7 you have to install Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. Both you can download on the Toshiba website.
I had a similar problem and after the installation the FN keys worked again! :)

  • Usage of binary key in the read statement

    Hi Experts,
For usage of binary search in the read statement, what is the minimum number of records (availablity) should be available in the internal table itab as per the below Example..
SYNTAX: Read table itab with key X binary search.
For eg: we have to use 16 primary keys only while creating a table.
    Regards,
    Maha

    Hi Pushpraj,
I am sorry to say this. I am not at all speaking about the number of keys  in the read statement.
I am talking abt "number of records to be there in the internal table to use binary search"
Generally, we use binary search when there is more data in the internal table. Can u specify what is the minimum records available in the internal table for using the binary search???
For Eg: Read table itab with key X binary search.
Iam talking abt the number of records in the internal table ITAB available if we want to use BINARY SEARCH(keyword).

  • Can we toggle the display of Key/Text in Webi prompt?

    Gurus,
We have a BOBJ 4.0 and BW 7.1 system. We have developed a webi report on top of BW BEx query. We have created 3 variables in BW BEx Query and they appear as prompts in webi. The prompt variables in webi display both the key and text when the list of values are refreshed. The business wants to see the key first and the text later on the webi prompt. I have tried modifying the BEx query to say just 'Key' or 'Key and Text' but none seems to have any effect on webi.
I have attached the screenshot from our webi prompt which displays all the material text first and the material number (key) next to it. Is there any option of bringing the key first and the text later in the webi prompt? Creating a universe or creating the prompts directly on the webi report is not an option at this time.
Any help is greatly appreciated! Points will be rewarded!
    Thanks,
    G.

    Hi Nirupa,
I am sorry if I wasn't clear in my requirement. The requirement is to have the Key display first and then the text next to it. If you see the attached screenshot, in the highlighted area, we have the text first and then the key next to it.
I tried making many changes to the BEx variable and the BEx Query but this order of text first and key next in the prompts does not seem to change. Is there a way to change this behavior of the webi prompts? Again, all the 3 prompts are created on BEx query designer as variables and there are no variables created on webi.

  • Usage of TAB Key

    Dear All
Can i use "TAB" key to control dataflow in a screen. I mean to switch cursor from one item to next item according to user's requirmrnt (For eg:  from first item to third item accordingly) on the screen. Is it possible or not. Plz help.
    Thanks

No. Instead, you may hide the unwanted fields, or change the sequence of fields:
    in an ALV, user may hide fields with table control variant (see [sap library|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/5b/7bc3685d1111d295ad0000e82de14a/frameset.htm] and sap note 135426);
    in a normal screen, developer may create a transaction variant and a screen variant to hide fields, for all users (see [sap library|http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/67/232037ebf1cc09e10000009b38f889/frameset.htm]);
    with guixt, you may change the look of a screen;
finally, some transactions may also propose a fast data entry (hide fields, etc.)

  • Usage of sort key in FS00

    Hi,
Can the Sort key (31 - Customer Number) be used in GL account type, for getting the assignment field in the Line item to be populated with customer number.
I tried it but did not work.
Can any one tell how to (standard way) populate the custmer number in the line item of GL account (account type S)?
    Regards
    Seshadri

    Hi Seshadri,
Sort key in the GL master will guides the system to display line items of the business partners or GL account in a specific sort order in reports FBL1N, FBL3N and FBL5N.
If you want the system to populate the assignment field in the customer line item report, go to Tcode FBL5N and select menu item settings-> special filelds
Press new entries and add the entry for table BSID - ZUONR and BSAD - ZUONR
    This might solves your requirement.
    Post again for more details.
    Thanks,
    Srinu

  • Sign with certificate with 'non-repudiation' key usage only

    Hello,
We are facing a problem validating digital signatures created by our partners with Adobe Reader. When validating the signature, we get the general 'The signer's identity is invalid' error. The Signature properties -> Certificate tab reports a warning "The selected certificate has errors: Not valid for usage".
The key usage extension in the certificate that our partners use for signing contains the only 'non-repudiation' element. Still, the intended usage shown on the certificate summary tab is "Sign document".
The main question is if the problem is related to the specific value of the key usage extension, or it has a different root.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ken

    Hello Steve,
Thank you very much for the document. In the mean time, we've got a permission from our partners to share with you one of the documents we've exchanged with them before. I have uploaded it to Google Docs (https://docs.google.com/open?id=0B1wk9toh5e7AbWNlVGZoY2thY1U), as the forum doesn't allow me to attach documents to a message. Just in case if you're not familiar with Google Docs, simply go to File->Download menu after opening the link in the browser, and you will be able to retrieve and save the original document locally.
Do I still need to ask them to sign the document you attached above as well?
We really appreciate your efforts in this regard,

  • Special key usage?

    Hi.
I am new user to MAC (switch from Windows), I have a question regarding the key located right of the right Apple key. I see it have the same symbol as the return key. I cant figure out the usage of this key. In Word i got a square symbol, in other applications I got a new line?
    Best Regards

It's a cross between an enter key, and a carriage return key. Very few applications make use of it as a seperate key, so it usually just behaves like a second enter/return key.

  • How to toggle all channel automation to "mute" or "volume"?

I would like to be able to enable mute automation for all chammels simultaneously, to simplify cleaning up the beginning of each song.
At the moment, I need to select each channel separately, which is very tedious when you have 50 tracks or more...
I discovered two key commands: "Toggle Automation Controlling MUTE" and "Toggle Automation Controlling VOLUME" and I assigned keys to them, but neither seems to switch the automation to their particular mode.
What is the intended usage of these key commands?

Yeah, there are six of these commands and they're a bit odd. What they do is to toggle whether Automation works for these six things:
Volume, Pan, Mute, Send Levels, Plug in Parameters and Solo
    To try them out:
    Assign a controller to Pan
    Set Automation to Touch
Display track automation for the current track
    Press Play
Mess around with the controller that you've assigned
Should work fine and the automation will be displayed.
Now, assign a key to Toggle Automation Controlling Pan
Press the newly assigned key combo
Try recording automation again and it's disabled
Never really figured a use for these commands, although it's possible that disabling the plug-in parameters might be of some use but I'm not convinced.
One of Logic's more obscure functions in my book. Oh yes, don't forget to get rid of the key command again, unless you love it with a James Brown type passion.

  • What can I do to prevent the control key from not working in the future?

    Background:
I bough an macbook pro about 1 year and 3 months ago and after 9 months of usage my control key stopped working for about an hour or two. This happened every time I turned on or awoke my mac from sleep (lid down).I sent it to an authorized apple service center and they replaced the keyboard.Everything was fine for about 4-5 months when the same thing happened again, ctrl key stopped working but this time not when turning on my mac but at random times and for random intervals.I sent it again to the service center but they told me that this time it won't be for free because my 1 year warranty has expired.I should mention that in European Union and Romania (the country where I am from and from which the mac was purchased) the law is that any electronics device sold has to come with at least 2 years of warranty.Apple seems to ingore this law.
Anyway, after long conversations with apple uk on the phone they agreed to pay for the keyboard but not for the labor which was 70 eur ($100).It's not much but my 2 year warranty should have covered it.The sad part is that I have no guarantee that it's indeed a keyboard error and not something else, this might happen again in 4 months and I doubt this time apple would agree paying for the keyboard (which is 150eur) ($215).
I should also mention that before calling apple uk I tried apple's romanian number (listed on their site) and it didn't work on the 3 phone networks that I've tried (2 fixed and one mobile) which led me to believe that apple support is in fact a big joke.
Suffice to say that I will no longer purchase any apple devices or software, I regret purchasing mac os x lion just a week ago, when I will no longer use it because I intend to sell all my apple gear (timecapsule, iphone4, macbook pro) and buy stuff from companies that value their customers and respect their contracts.
    My questions are this:
    1) why does apple ignore EU and Romanian law?
    2) what can I do to prevent this from happening in the future
    3) can I request that my macbook be more thoroughly inspected? I suspect the keyboard is not the main problem and it will soon happen again as it happened two times already.
    4) can I do something for the repair labor charge to be waved? It is illegal in my country to ask for one in this scenario...

Everyone reading your posts here is just another MacBook Pro user. We're all volunteers, not Apple employees. No one here can speak for Apple.
In my personal opinion, buying Apple products in a country where Apple has no stores and no corporate presence is a risk that the buyer takes knowingly. I don't think it's a wise risk, and I don't recommend that anyone take it. A small percentage of the products sold anywhere are going to have problems, and it makes more sense to buy an inferior product that can at least be serviced locally than to buy a superior product that may have to be sent thousands of miles for repair if anything ever goes wrong with it.
