Toggling Between Open Emails -- Keyboard Shortcut

Sometimes I have several emails open at once. The only way I know how to switch between them is to go to the dropdown Window menu. This is a little cumbersome. Is there a keyboard shortcut for toggling between open email windows?
And while I'm at it, is there one for toggling between open Safari windows? I love the Command-TAB way of switching between applications and am looking for something similar.
Thanks.
Paul S.

The question is marked as answered, but I don't think it was the answer you wanted. I often have several emails open and want to toggle through them without leaving the keyboard. The Exposé method works, but is not a keyboard shortcut.
Here is how I got it to work:
In System Prefs under Keyboard and Mouse under Keyboard Shortcuts make sure Keyboard Navigation is checked and under that check "Move focus to next window in active application" and then "Command+ tilde" will work!

  • How to change Switch between open documents keyboard shortcut (default Control + Tab or Cmd + ~)

I use Control + Tab and Control + Shift + Tab or Cmd + ~ and Cmd + Shift + ~ to switch between tab back and forth alot how do I change the shortcut to something else?
    On Photoshop CC 2014 mac

No, there isn't. you can't even set your own shor cut keys as you don't know what the documents will be named. Normally you can add short cuts keys but only for those menus options that already exist but your documents will change. I have searched for the answer earlier as I also want it.
There is in the Pages Help menu an option for  Keyboard shorcuts but nothing is mentioned ther about changing document windows.

  • Is there a way to toggle between open sequences? Keyboard Shortcut?

So I usually work form one sequence of selects, and then take pieces of those selects on the source monitor side and edit them into the edit sequence on the program monitor side.
    1. Is there a way to toggle between the two?
    2. Is there a way to toggle between sequences that are open?
Although it is really nice now you can load sequences into the source monitor it would be nice to toggle to that sequence to actaully see the clips in the source monitor sequence, not just have the visuals.
On a basic level I'd like to know if there is a way to toggle between open sequences that way i can select in and outs lift and undo (which copies to clipboard) and then toggle to the second sequence i have and paste it in the correct place.

Short answer: Yes. Try Shift+3. It's the default Shortcut for "Timelines".

  • Toggle between open word docments

hi everyone - do any of you know what the shortcut is for switching/toggling between open Word documents with a Mac [OS X]?  I'm currently using Microsoft Word 2011.
COMMAND+TAB allows me to switch btw programs, but not between pages within the same program.
Thank you in advance for your help!

command ` (the key above the tab) is the standard Mac keyboard shortcut for switching between open windows of the same application.
I don't know if Microsft has followed the convention.

  • Toggle between open documents?

    Hi all,
Is there a keyboard shortcut (or way to create a custom
shortcut) for toggling between open documents in DW? What I'm
talking about is something similar to Alt-Tab in Windows. When I'm
working on coding using the keyboard it would be awfully nice to
quickly toggle to another open file rather than reaching for the
    mouse every time.
I'm hoping this is something I've just not run across yet in
3 different upgrades of DW and not something the program can't do.
    Thanks!

It's built in: CTRL+TAB moves left to right, and
CTRL+SHIFT+TAB moves right to left. I think it may be CMD+` for
    Mac, but not certain.
Unfortunately, in CS$, I've not been able to find a short cut
to toggle between the related files in the current opened document,
besides going the "long" route: ALT+V, holding ALT hit R twice,
then the right arrow key and then arrowing up or down to the next
    file to switch to.

  • Toggling between open files

If I have more than one project file open, what is the best way (if any) to toggle between them?
The problem that I'm having is that when I hit play for one file, it starts playing the other simultaneously, which is annoying.
    Thanks.

  • Toggling between foreign language keyboards possible?

    Hi!
I am learning Hebrew and would like to make flash cards on my Mac, which means I'll be typing in both English and Hebrew. I've already successfully set up the Hebrew and English keyboards via the International Preference Pane.
My question is: *Can I toggle between the Hebrew and English keyboard??* This would be such a huge help (vs having to use the mouse!).
    Thank you!!

yes, you can. go to system preferences->international->input menu. check the box next to Hebrew. This will activate input menu in your menu bar. you can switch between inputs there. also, you can use keyboard shortcuts to do it that way. i don't remember what are the default shortcuts to toggle input menus but you can see them in system preferences->keyboard&mouse->keyboard shortcuts. you can also change them to what you want there.

  • Cannot Open Premiere Keyboard Shortcuts

I cannot open Keyboard Shortcuts on Premiere v8 on Cloud (just installed yesterday!) - I get no dialog box when I go to Premiere Pro -> Keyboard Shortcuts. Nothing. I am on Mac OS 10.8.3 and cleared my Cloud Sync settings, to no avail. What I am trying to do is customize my shortcuts to enable a dang marker on a clip within a timeline, since I hear that's the only way it can be done. Thank You!  Meg

    Hi Meg,
Trashing preferences usually solves this issue. See this link: http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/using/preferences.html#change_preferences

  • Sending email - Keyboard shortcut...

Still configuring mail. Any help would be appreciated.
When sending email, is there a keyboard shortcut I can use? I've looked and it instructs to press the up arrow, command and the letter "D". Cant get this to work. Can anybody help?
    Sly

Command-J sends email. Also if you didn't have this link already, there are plenty of useful shortcuts here.
And finally if you don't see a shortcut you can create your own. Here are instructions.

  • Simple-how can I toggle between screens

Ok...this is really simple, or it should be. Can I change a preference anywhere on my Mac to where I can not only toggle between programs with the "apple key + tab" shortcut, but toggle between open windows within a program?
For example, if i have iTunes open and Safari open I can toggle (switch screens/windows) between the two with the "apple key + tab" command but I cannot toggle between screens WITHIN a program. If I have Word open and I am working on two documents and I want to go from the forward window that I am working in to the window behind it I have to manually, with the mouse point and click on the window at the back.
Is there a preference I can change somewhere on my Mac or no? I've looked but maybe I'm not looking in the right place.
    Curlz

Who says it's undocumented? It is documented several places. In Mac Help, search for "Keyboard shortcuts"; select "Full keyboard navigation" or "Shortcuts for windows" -- this is documented both places and probably others as well.
Also, in System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Keyboard Shortcuts, you can change shortcuts, or disable them, or just see what they are currently set to.

  • I've deleted my Keyboard Shortcuts! Help.

    Hello,
A little while ago I accidently deleted my keyboard shortcuts. I have no idea how to get them back. Does anyone know?
    Thanks in advance,
    Richard

There is no real wizard for doing that, BUT it is doable. Open the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, and create a duplicate of one of the existing keyboard sets. Customize as needed. This creates an XML file buried in the User>Library> Application Support>Adobe>Fireworks CS5.1>en/keyboard shortcuts folder. Not sure where the equivalent folder is on Windows, tho. Then share that XML file. As long as other users put the file in the same location, they should be able to select it from their own Keyboard Shortcuts panel.
BUT do not delete an active keyboard set within that folder. On the Mac at least, FW coughed up an error when I did that and then tried to access the panel again.

  • Applying keyboard shortcuts to Change Case Commands?

Could someone check to see if they can do this as I can't do it with either CS5 or CS5.5.
Open the keyboard shortcuts dialog box and under the Type menu, apply a keyboard command to Change Case>Title Case. (I used Control-T)
At first, on my machine, the command was listed, but didn't apply to the selected text. Manually applying the command from the menu did work.
Later, I couldn't get the shortcut to appear at all. I've rebuilt the preferences twice.
Could someone see if they can do this. Then I'll know it's something on my machine.

Is it perhaps the known "CS5 plugin installed on CS5.5" issue?
(That can cause numerous problems because although it seems the older plugins work just fine, but it's not supposed to work.)
((Just to soothe the Conspiracy Theorists out there: it's not supposed to work because of many changes in the internal code of CS5.5. Usually, InDesign checks plugins for its own version number, but somehow that was bodged in the CS5.5 upgrade.))

  • Keyboard shortcuts import

Just downloaded Premiere CC 2014 and wonder how I can import my keyboard shortcut preferences.  Was surprised that wasn't automatically done, since I'm using the same account.

This forum a few days ago has a workaround:Re: Adobe Premiere Pro Help | Keyboard shortcuts in Premiere Pro CC
So, in CC, save your keyboard layout in the Keyboard Shortcuts window as a new Keyboard Layout Preset, calling it something specific.  Then go to:
Users>[User Name]>Documents>Adobe>Premiere Pro>7.0>Profile-CreativeCloud->Mac> and you will find the .sys file you just created.
Copy and paste it into the 8.0 folder:
    Users>[User Name]>Documents>Adobe>Premiere Pro>8.0>Profile-CreativeCloud->Mac>
In CC 2014, open up Keyboard Shortcuts and you should now have the preset from CC as one of the choices in the pull-down.  Obviously, this is not the user experience one would expect with the Adobe's cloud synching capability, but hopefully it's just a Mac-side bug that will be resolved soon.

  • Toggling Between Windows

    Hi All,
Does anyone know if there is a key function that enables you to toggle between windows of 1 program. For example toggle between all your open Safari browser pages? Something like "apple + tab" but for toggling between open windows in one application?
    Many thanks,
    Gustaf

  • Sharing keyboard shortcuts via script

Our company maintains a custom InDesign shortcut set which we share among our users. We push the .indk file to each user's "InDesign Shortcut Sets" folder at system startup.
Trouble is, when users receive an updated version of the .indk file, InDesign doesn't automatically honor the new keyboard assignments. Users need to open the Keyboard Shortcuts dialog, select a different shortcut set (such as Default), click OK, then reopen the dialog, select the shared set and click OK.
    Not very efficient.
So, I'm wondering: Is there a way to script the selection of a shortcut set? I can't seem to find anything in the object model that would do the trick.

Hi Jurgen - it did go away in 10.4. A lot of users who relied on this feature before have found FastScripts Lite to be a suitable replacement. I can see why you wouldn't want to run yet another app, but hey at least it's free! It will give you essentially an identical user experience as before.
Hopefully Apple will add the shortcuts back in 10.5 (maybe for the whole script menu like FastScripts does?).
