Tokenizing a JTextArea(how do i make the JTextArea a string?)

I am working on this text analyzer program which is kinda like a replica of what you find when you a do a word count in many office suites. It tells you stuff like number of sentences, longest sentence, shortest sentence and average length. Number of words, longest shortest and average word length. In addtion there is a word search to it.
It took me a good 3 hours to realize that there was such a thing as a panel and I could impliment this to add more than one object to a borderlayout section.
I think I have figured out everything with the StringTokenizer part, well except for how do add it to an array. Someone mentioned something to me about an
islist.StringTokenizer or something, but I haven't been able to find anything else on this.
Right now, however, my primary concern is how can I take input from a JTextArea and be able to parse it with the StringTokenizer, which to the best of my knowledge has to be a string. It this as simple as a getValue(); type thing or do i have to add some sort of action listener that finds out when it changes or something?

Thanks! For whatever bizarre reason for which I have no answer - I sync'd my iPad to my MBP the old fashion way (not iCloud) and the movie showed up just fine. It is Nikon camera 'how to' video. I like to watch them for a better indepth discovery of what the camera can do. The only weird thing about the hard wire sync is that it was placed in a catagory "home movies" which was never there before...actually it showed up in two places "home movies" and TV shows.

How can I make the combo box turn to the value of black.

When the show button is pressed (and not before), a filled black square should be
displayed in the display area. The combo box (or drop down list) that enables the user to choose the colour of
the displayed shape and the altering should take effect immediately.When the show button is pressed,
the image should immediately revert to the black square, the combo box should show the value that
correspond to the black.
Now ,the problem is: after I pressed show button, the image is reverted to the black square,but I don't know
how can I make the combo box turn to the value of black.

One can use a Layer Mask and add a white Layer underneath.

I don't believe mounting the hard drive should be necessary, unless you have several external drives and want your computer to recognise them as folders, rather than drives. I've never had to mount a hard drive, ever. If you don't know how to do it, then it shouldn't be necessary now.
Try this:
Prepare iTunes so that it can see the external drive.
Make a note of which drive-letter the external drive has been allocated. (Look in Windows Exploer)
Look at the file location for a song. Make sure it plays (and therefore that iTunes has found it). Highlight it and select File/Get Info/Summary>Where: and make a note of the drive letter for that song.
Close and shut down the computer.
The next time you turn the computer on again, connect the external drive
Before you start iTunes - check the external drive in Windows Explorer. Is it ready, does it have the same drive-letter that it had last time? Can you go into the drive and see the files on it?
Once you can, start iTunes. (If the drive lettter has changed, you need to work out why before going any further.)
If iTunes fails to find your external drive, you need to check where iTunes is looking for your Library.
Select the same song you checked before (presumably iTunes can no longer find it). Follow the procedure for locating it. You should be able to see where iTunes thinks the file is. It's the drive that counts. Which drive letter is iTunes looking at? Is it the same one that it was previously (which should also be the same one that the drive has now).

I have had this same problem for weeks now with my 4S. I just got a new 5S after being extremely frustrated and the same thing - no sounds. After searching posts all over, I couldn't find a solution. I just told my friend of the issue and he asked "Do you have the Do Not Distrub on?" I didn't even know such a function existed. Upon looking that was exactly the issue.
To resolve, go to Settings> Do Not Disturb> Manual. If it is green, turn it off. You will now get phone calls and text alerts.
This functionality is also on your quick access utility menu (slide up menu). I assume this is how it was enabled on my phone.
I will post on other sites since I searched for weeks for this solution and didn't see it anywhere. Good luck!

Make a matte in Photoshop.
From the Photoshop menu bar: File > New > Film & Video Presets. Choose one that suits your FCP project pixel dimensions. Make the background black. Place a white rectangle with rounded corners on top (the white will determine how much of your picture is visible). Flatten Image. Save as TIFF. Import into FCP.
Move your video clips up to V2. Place the imported TIFF on V1. Highlight all clips on V2.
Go to Modify > Composite Mode > Travel Matte Luma. Done.
If you want soft edges, no need for a matte. Double click your clip to place it in the Viewer. Open up the Motion tab > Crop > Edge Feather. Nice and quick. Copy and Paste attributes for the other clips.

How can i make the optimiser to skip this full table scan ??

I am trying to tune the below query, I have checked up all the possibilities to skip the full table scan on vhd_calldesh_archive, But am unable to find the predicate in the where clause, which is letting the optimiser to choose the full table scan on vhd_calldesk_archive table, which is very large one. how can i make the optimiser to skip this full table scan.

How do you make the dashboard open automatically at login?

Ok, you know in your dock you can right click on any application icon and it will come up with some options, one of them being "Open at Login." Well, I want to automatically open the dashboard at login, but when I right click on the dashboard icon it does not give that option. How do I make the dashboard open automatically when I log in?

There is a freeware app called "Dashboard Starter" that will start the DB up when you log-in, or anytime you force quit the Dock.app.

How do you make the background of an object transparent in Adobe Illustrator?
I have been having issues with using the Magic Wand tool in Adobe Illustrator as well as the lasso tool.
Basically, I am trying to put a small graphic into a new Illustrator file.
The first thing I tried to do is to use the magic wand tool. But I found out that this did not work on a jpeg image since it did not have any individual objects to select.
So I tried something new. I opened the file in Adobe Photoshop and used the lasso tool to select an area. Then I coped this area. Then I tried to paste it into Adobe Illustrator. But the background was not transparent for the pasted image.
How do I make the background transparent.

Using windows 8.1 and photoshop cs4 the font size of the MENUS is so small as to be almost unreadable. how do i make the menu fonts larger. this is happening also with bridge
