I wanted to just download Firefox again to see if that will solve the problem. If i do do I lose my bookmarks?

I have Firefox 8.0.1 on my Windows XP PC. On my Firefox opening page I still get a warning that I do not have the latest version of Firefox. Which is the latest version for me and from where do I download it?

On the opening page of Firefox, I am constantly reminded (and sometimes warned) that I do not have the latest version of Firefox. Yet, when I click for upgrade, I start getting a download of the same version 8.0.1 which I am already running.

Thats' all well and good, but FIREFOX crashes when I click on those links. I'm not doing it again. Heck with it.

Please give a bit more system details. Which OS and version are you on? Is it 32 bit or 64 bit. Try downloading the Creative Cloud App if not already installed from: https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud. You can choose to install PS from withing this app and need not rely on web page.

I don't think that extension is supported. I believe Firefox can only read .json and .html.

When I try to open google plus I get a message that say my browser no longer supports google plus. I'm then asked to download the latest version of firefox. But I already use firefox 5.o.1. To send photos I need the 'attach files more easily' facility in my Yahoo email. After I recently upgraded my broadband so that I now get 37mb speed, Firefox (and Internet Explorer) started to 'not respond' so I un-installed it then re-installed it. I got the latest version of Firefox and now I can't get the facility back again. Have you got any suggestions? Yahoo have not been able to help.

I usually upgrade Firefox within a couple of days when the new version is issued. Nevertheless, I can't seem to get it right. Although when I check "About Firefox" tab in the Help menu it says that my version is 9.0.1 (i.e. the latest version available) - still on the Firefox Update page I always get this annoying msg:

I don't believe that the fact that I'm still using Windows XP should have anything to do with this problem, but fyi - my OS is Win XP SP3, regularly updated and upgraded.
Also, even though I live in Croatia, I prefer my Firefox (and other programs) in English, so I use UK version of Firefox.
I do have some problems updating MS .Net Framework - could this be the issue with Firefox too?
Anyway, I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling Firefox, even tried installing Croatian version - nothing helped.
As a result of this, I also have a problem with Gmail - I can only use standard, basic HTML view. Also annoying as hell.
Btw, as for "Installed plugins" - I'm not sure which of those are right, but I do not have Netscape installed, and never had one on this computer. I even ran the search for term "Netscape" and it came out empty.

My app is too old 3G, can i download the latest version

I am not able to use my Whats app. I can recieve message however i cannot open the whats app and read the message nor i can reply those messages.
A message bounce out asking to verify the country code and telepone no. After that it says to type in the 3 digits no. which they have send me via SMS however i never receive any number from SMS. Furthermore to that, it says that the version of th eapp is too old. Please download the latest version from the App Store which i am also unable to do it.

I have the latest version of Firefox but iCloud says my browser isn't supported.

Firefox says there are no updates available, but when I go to iCloud.com, I get a page saying my browser isn't supported and I should upgrade to the newest version. I can't upgrade my IE - the last time I did it messed up my computer so badly I had to revert to factory settings. Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions as to why iCloud isn't detecting my up-to-date Firefox browser?

There is one other thing about when I updated firefox. It automatically disabled a bunch of add ons that were incompatible. Other than that I don't know how. I've given up on icloud all together now.
I just checked my plugins for firefox and they are all enabled now.
There is a selection to "check to see if your plugins are up to date" in the options/plugins in firefox and I did that during the install to also update plugins as well as to update firefox. my version now says 7.0.1. Look in help/about and see if this is what you have

A site downloads an old version of SW Player even though I have the newest version installed

Over the years I've played games at a site (Garfield Games). The last few years, whenever I update to the new version of Shockwave Player, Garfield Games downloads an old version of SW Player (10.4 to be exact) citing compatibility issues when I try to play a game. It doesn't matter if I use Chrome or IE9 to download the new version of SW player, or go to Garfield in either browser, as soon as I try to play a game I have to download the old version of SW Player. I notice my newest version is located in User-AppData-LocalLow-Adobe. The old version is located in C-Windows-System32-Macromed-Shockwave 10. If I delete the SW 10 file and try to play a game at Garfield I have to download the old version again, or I can't play the games. This only occurs if I download a new version of SW Player (as it deletes the older versions on my system)or if I manually delete the old version.
My system isn't that unusual, Vista 32 sp2, Webroot anti virus, windows firewall, Secunia.
When the old version is downloaded, Secunia flags it as a security risk. I delete the SW Int.exe file in SW 10 and Secunia no longer flags it as a security risk. I also delete 7 other files in it, and it still works at Garfield. I've contacted Garfield and they claim it's my system. Garfield is the only site that I have encountered this problem.
I've tried googling this question, and there's nothing really comprable. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I know that some sites do that. I don't know of any way to prevent that, except to avoid sites that do that.
If I really wanted to prevent that, I would try to set the permissions in the target folders
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Director
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Shockwave 10
to prevent anything from installing.
